Day 5

Today in class, we began discussing the idea of the Red Scare of Communism. If America is supposed to be so open minded to the ideas of others, why during the
1950's did we freak out so much about Communism? What events of the 30's and 40's led to this fear of Communism in America? Could this happen today or is it happening today? Explain your answer.

If you were absent, you wil lneed to look up this on the internet and answer the question based on your research.

I think we freaked out because we didn't want to become Communist. If we had become Communist then more contries would have became Communist. Then eventually the entire world a Communist world maybe ruled by one single family. The event of black listing people was a fear of communism in a big way. If people had any relations with it they would be blacklisted. they then wouldn't be able to get a good job or maybe any job. This was a really big thing in hollywood. Not really as much of this is happening now a day because we have seen how much Communism can destroy a country and its people.

We freaked out so much because we didn't want to turn into a communist country. All the other countries were starting to be this way and we didn't want to be. So people over-reacted about the whole situation. Blacklisting led to a great fear in the 30's and 40's. Blacklisting happened to you if you had any type of connection to communism. Like if you belived in certain parts of communism or had a communist friend. This could be happening today but in a much minor kind of way. This is America and we have a right to say what we want but that doesn't nessisarily mean that people will agree with it. I don't think blacklisting exsists as much anymore as bribing does.

In the 1950's, we freaked out about communism because we saw other countries being controlled by it and we didn't want to be part of it. We have seen how communism negatively affects other countries and thats why we don't really see it in America. People were blacklisted, or put in jail, for having any relations with communism. I do believe that communism can happen today. I think this because our economy is going bad and our Presidents have gotten desperate. Our future presidents might experiment with it and see it as a way out of this rut that we are in. Hopefully this will never happen but you never know now-a-days. If we are lucky, we will continue to stay clear from communism.

i think we freaked out so much because of how we looked at the other communist countries. we saw them as countries trying to take over, and control everybody and we didn't want that in the US. In the 30's and 40's blacklisting was starting to occur. this was scaring people even more and adding to the fear of communism. An overreaction to something is also happening today. I think everbody is overacting about the swine flew. Its not good but its also not that bad, definitely not bad anof to cancel flights and things like they did.

In my opinion, I believe that the US panicked about communism taking over for the reason we did not want to become yet another one of those countries under the influence of communism. The US has always strived for the value of independence, and we went ready to give that up. The thought of changing the type of government we have after it has functioned all these years just scared the nations citizens. The USSR was no match for the independence of the US, and we stuck to our decision. Eventually, the newly started communist countries reverted back to their previous ways. In the end, only China stood representing communism. Staying true to our own government really paid off.

red communism is when the government controls everything that happens in the country. i think that Americans freaked out when the idea of communism hit the U.S because most people don't like change and the wealthy don't want there pay to get docked and the poor don't want to risk losing more money. in the 30's and 40's the events that lead up to the fear of communism was when Russia became stronger and eventually become the soviet union.and in my opinion i think that yes this could happen today and will. the reason i say this is because there is a group called the trilateral commission this is a conspiracy on how non-government citizens take part in controlling our government without us knowing it. Our president even takes part in this, apparently the president is a puppet and does whatever these people say. this is a global group that has a strict number of members that include 120 North American people all are distinguished leaders in business, including Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and many other very wealthy citizens. they supposedly planned the economic recession and are planning on stripping away the constitution like the rights to bear arms by raising guns taxes and eventually draining America of money to the point were we would rely on them to help and support us slowly taking over the nation, and since nobody has guns revolting would be useless. for more information on this your can go to you-tube or Google and type in " trilateral commission" or "build-a-burger" and get many results, also seen on the history channel. that is what i think about how the red communism has effected the United Sates and what could possibly happen.

I think the people freaked about so muhc about the though of the U.S. becoming communist was because if we became a communist country we would lose most of the freedom we currently have. I know the though of losing most of our freedoms would cause a big panic today if it were to come around. The events in the 30's and 40's that could have caused this panic could be that Russia or the Soviet Union was influencing their new communist government on other countries. And these countries were accepting the communist government. Another event that could have cause people to panic could have been the Black listing. The people weren't wanting to lose their opportunities to get a job. I think that a panic like this definentaly could happen today. It may well be happenning today in some of the states. I think today a panic could happen because who in the U.S. would want to lose most if not any of the freedoms that they have.

I think everyone freaked out from the red scare because we didnt want just one or a group of leaders ruling our country. We were also the role models for other countries and didnt want to give them a bad example. The events of the 30's and 40's led to the fear by the use of bombs in WWII. The USSR threatened to bomb us, so we suspected they were bad and didnt like them. I think we are having another red scare right now but its not necessarily from communism. I think we are freaking out about the terrorists from the middle east. You read about people bombing in the middle east so you assume that all people from the middle east are bad when they could be one of your best friends you will ever know.

i think we started to be afraid of communism atfer world war one. when russia started to take over all over countrys around it. we freaked out because other super powers near russia wear becoming commuism. the events that lead to this fear was the damino effect. it was starting to send fear when korra spilt. i think that communism is happening in china. we see china is the only closet country that still supports it. that is what i think about communism.

I think that in the 1950's we freaked out so much about communism because at first we stood by and watched other countries become communists and we didn't want to become a part of that. If we became communists then the entire world could have eventually been runned by the government. I think one big event was Blacklisting. Which was pretty much throwing whoever was a communist in our country at the time under the bus. They wouldn't be able to get a good job or become part of the "upper class" no matter what their ability. It is definately a possibility for the U.S. to become a communist country today. It almost seems as it is happening. The government is telling us more about what is good for us, what is bad for us and how run our lives. Expecially with all this medicare stuff going on, and how the government is trying to run our health care. I don't think it will ever turn into a fully communist country, but seem to be headed in a little bit of a more socialistic life for the U.S.

In the 1950's I think we freaked out so much because we saw how others were affected by it and we didn't want communism to come to America. People were happy with the lifes they were living and they weren't open to change. In the 30's and 40's, a lot of blacklisting went on because the Soviet Union was pushing communism from East Germany and kept going to Korea. We wanted to keep communism out of America so anyone who knew a communist or was a communist got put on a list and they couldn't get jobs for a long period of time. I do think that communism could happen today, but I know it won't. The economy is so bad right now that people will do anything to get us out of it. This will not happen though because there are so many people against it that there would be some kind of war or major event to stop it. Hopefully, the US doesn't go into communism.

In the 1950's communism started spreading through out the countries. American started freaking out about this because people were being controlled by it and America didnt want its people to be controlled. The fear in the 30's and 40's was black listing. If someone was black listed they werent able to get a job to support themself. People were blacklisted if the government thought they were communist. Communism is something we dont want in the U.S. Not much communism goes on in America today because it tears apart countries and we dont want that happening to us.

We freaked out because we didn't want to be communist. Many countries looked up to us and if we were to become communist maybe they would have followed. Maybe soon 1 person would have all the power over the world. Blacklisting happened if you had any communist connections. It's partialy happening today but not much. It isan't really a big part of america anymore in my eyes. We have seen it happen in a large scale so nothing really is stopping it from happening again.
