Final Draft due tomorrow! Don't forget to turn in the rough draft and Conference notes along with it!
Today I want you to think about President Obama. How do you feel about his progress in the White House? Do you think that he is doing a good job? Explain why or why not. Can you think of any improvements that he can make in order to satisfy all Americans? Can you think of any other presidents that we have had in the past that you particularly liked or disliked for their accomplisments in the White House? Explain.

I personally don't mind President Obama. I think he hasn't made any progress over the time he's been in office. I know it takes time to actually achieve something and make our economy better, but it just hasn't happened yet. Maybe in a little bit something better will happen. I think so far he isn't doing a very good job. Especially with all the new plans that he's coming up with. No ones happy with them at all. He doesn't really have any improvements that are doing a good job. In the past, I haven't like George W. Bush. He wasn't a very good president either. He never made any huge accomplishments that he should have had done after his time in the White House.
I personally like President Obama. I have heard from other people that he's not doing what he said that he was going to do. To me that's a load of BS. I think that he's doing everything that he said at his inauguration speech and at the State of the Union address. I think that Obama should try to bring all the remaining Americans that are in Iraq back home. In the past, I didn't like George W. Bush, even though I wanted to vote for him if I was able to. He wasn't a very good president either. He never made any huge accomplishments that he should have had done after his time in the White House.

I personally enjoy President Obama in the oval office. He seems confident and up to speed on everything going on in our economy. He knows the trouble we are all facing and is doing everything he can to shape up our economy. If I were to give the president any advice, I would suggest that he would get his plans up and running. We have yet to see what he can do to help our nation. I just hope that all goes well and he turns out to be as amazing as I think he is.
I feel like Obama is doing an ok job as president. I feel like he has been working for a while now and hasn't really done anything. Things are starting to look better than before and I hope they get even better. For all Americans to be satisfied he should bring them all closer. Not family wise but comunity wise and have them get different ideas going. Not everyone is the same so with each comunity doing what they want everyone will be happy. The only president that I remember is Bush. I didn't really care for him when he was in office because i'm not really into polics.

I think that President Obama is an ok president. He seems like a cool guy. Its interesting that he is the first African American President. Also he is young, he is the youngest President since Kennedy. I don't think that he has really done anything major. He has not changed anything too dramatically. I honestly don't no what he could do to satisfy all Americans because no matter what he does there will always be people that don't like him. I wasn't alive when Ike was President but we learned about him in history this year. He seemed like someone who knew what he was doing. He went and visited the army while they were in war. The sad thing is that he died while he was still President. I wish that he would of lived to finish his presidency.
Over the past year and three months that Obama has been in office, he hasn't accomplished anything. Not one single thing, if he isn't making progress I ask the question, What is he doing? It makes absolutely no sense that he hasn't made any breakthroughs, what is he doing? I don't believe that America is satisfied AT ALL! Why would America be satisfied with nothing? One president that really stands out for me regarding accomplishments during presidency is Abraham Lincoln. During his time in office, Lincoln brought us through the Civil War, abolished slavery, wrote the Gettysburg Address, one of America's most famous speeches, wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, and re-defined Republicanism. That's quite a lot during just one term, and he even had to struggle through Spinocerebellar Ataxia, a genetic disorder passed down through his ancestors. This made Lincoln weak at times and gave him difficulties walking and functioning.
I am supportive of President Obama. I don't completely know everything that is going on but i mostly thing people may not like him because our economy is not so great and that's when he started so people may expect him to fix it right away. I think he is doing good also with choosing the health care plan and that everybody has to have it. I also like Teddy Roosevelt. I think my last semester history teacher influenced me though. That is his favorite president so he would talk about all the great things he did. He just seemed like a terrific leader, a good speaker, and seemed to know how to fix things.

I really believe that Obama has actually hurt our country so far. He has accomplished the health care bill, but nothing else. He had promised to get our troops out of Iraq and the middle east but nothing has been accomplished. Even the health care bill has many flaws that will hurt our country. For example, the health care bill doesn't include a ceiling that the insurance companies have to have. Some improvements that can be made is to add a section that includes a ceiling for the price. Another improvement could be getting our troops out of the middle east.
I don't believe President Obama has done anything good for our country and I don't support him at all. He has been all about "change" but has done nothing to benefit lower or middle class people. He has tried to reach only wealthier people but with him in office, that number is most definitely decreasing rapidly. Our economy was not good before but since he went into office it has declined faster and more jobs are being lost. He has already made many promises to the American public that I can see are never going to happen. One of his big things was ending the war but... our men and women are still over there. He is not making attempts to bring them back home to their families. Bush kept them over their since 2001! What did that do for our country? Take lives. That's about it. Obviously, keeping them over there is has done nothing. Maybe he should take a chance for his country.
I dont really have anything against President Obama. How can everyone be so quick to judge when he's barely had any time to make the huge changes we're asking of him. As far as i know we havent suffered from any of the changes he has in place. Although his campaign slogan was "change" it is going to take time to bring our country out of the troubles we're facing. There is no such thing as an improvement that will satisfy all Americans. There will always be people and presidents that agree and disagree with the choices our current leader will make. Maybe im just an oblivious teenager but i think America is doing alright and there are no past presidents that i have particuarily disliked. All in all its hard for me to take a side when he hasnt given me a reason to dislike him or like him, so maybe this will change in time.
I choose not to pay attention to politicsbut when I hear people talk about President Obama, it is usually in a negative manner. I'd rather not analyze his views but I will say from my knowledge of what he has done in office is deceiving. Like every President does, he has big plans for the future but is having a hard time introducing these plans and bringing them to life. I do think it is safe to say that his wife Michelle has done more for our country so far than he has. But I look at Obama as a stepping stone to the direction our country is headed towards. I like his mind set of what needs to be done here, somebody just needs to step up to the plate and take care of it. But Obama is a smooth, down to Earth guy which is why I relate him to Presidents I enjoy such as JFK and Bill Clinton. Yeah, sure Bill was a goof and JFK didn't last long, but they were for the people. Not for the money or segragation, or power, or fame or attention, but for the people of this country. That's why those men were good presidents.
I don't really pay attention to politics much, but if I had to pick a side, I would say that he is doing an average job. I give him some credit for stepping up and trying to help out our country because we are in very bad shape right now and I can't even imagine how hard it would be. He's doing a lot about Health care and stuff and I think that by what he's doing right now with it is not helping the economy. I don't really know enough about politics to make any suggestions because I bet there are millions of things he can do. My personal favorite president was Washington because he basically got the whole nation started, and that must have taken a lot of work. He must have really known what he was doing and had to be a strong, confident man and I know that I could never do all the things he did.
Personally I have some issues with Obama. I feel since he has been in the White House his progress has gotten no where. I dont think he is doing a very good job because it seems to me like our country is getting worse not better. I dont think there is an improvment he can make to satisfy ALL americans. No one can please everyone but i think he shouldnt have passed the health care bill. In the past we had George W Bush. I think he did pretty well his first term but the second term he didnt really make very many accomplishments in the white house.
I personally really dislike obama. I believe he has accomplished little to nothing at all sence he has been in the white house. He has spent more money is the first 6 months of his term then bush did in his whole time as presidant. He pritty much said what we anted to hear to get into office and it worked. He talks about all these new plans and never dose anything to make them happen. I think alot of americans would agree with me when i say he should be remomved from the white house already. Other presidants in the past could be No one reallylike bush in the past because he really didn't do anything.
