I think the movie was very good. Lennie's character was a lot different then what I had expected. When he was killing Curlie's wife and when he was breaking Curlie's hand, he seemed a lot more rough then he had in the book. In the book, they made Lennie seem like a sweet guy who wouldn't hurt a fly. In the movie, when he was hurting these people they made it appear that he was intending to do it. He appeared more scary and someone to fear then they wanted him to appear in the book, or at least to me. I think it hindered my views of Lennie from a harmless person to someone who intended to kill Curlie's wife and break his hand. I would have changed that about the film.
I thought the movie was very similiar to the book. George was different in the movie than i had pictured him. I always thought he would be stronger and shorter. Also the killing of curlies wife in the movie was very violent and i didnt feel that way in the book. The book made the whole incident look really innocent. I think the movie kind of hindered the story line a little. just because they made lennie look so harmful to everyone. In the film i would have changed the way lennie hurt people cause they made it look like he purpously did it. Also i would change the end when george shot him because it seemed like george didnt care that he killed him. He just stood there for awhile where i would have pictured that he would be next to lennie right away.
i thought the movie was good. However, anytime you read a book and there is a movie there are alot of differences. Some parts of the film were in different settings an different people spoke that were not supposed to speak. Also, when Lennie was accdientally killed Curly's wife he seemed more sccary. I pictured that he would not be agressive. I thought that he was going to be scared thats wayhe held on. In the movie he looked angry and was yelling. I thought he was supposed to be a nice sweet fella. I think the differences hindered the storyline. When there is a movie that's story plotline is being taken from a book it will always hinder it. Lennie. Lennie was supposed to be a nice guy. However, the actor that played him brought angry features to the character. I would change the way the actor portrayed Lennie. When he would show what he would have done I would tell him he is supposed to act scared and terrified. Not angry and aggressive.
I thought that the movie was better than the book. All of the differences were necessary because then the filmmaker can make the movie seem more interesting to watch. I think that the differences enhanced the overall storyline because the overall message that the author of the book intended to make, the filmmaker added a few extra things to make it a little better. I would change the end when george shot him because it seemed like george didnt care that he killed him. He just stood there for awhile where i would have pictured that he would be next to lennie right away. I would also change the way the actor portrayed Lennie. When he would show what he would have done I would tell him he is supposed to act scared and terrified. Not angry and aggressive.

I thought the film did pretty well at potraying the book. I think I exhaggerated the characters looks a little bit bu curly looked the way I thought he would. I don't like how George killed Lennie. It seemed a little mote brutal than in the book. Also, Lennie seems a little more scary than in the book. I am happy they didn't show Lennie throw the pup across the room because that would have been really sad. I also didn't watch at the part when he broke curly's hand. I am not good with bones breaking and blood. Overall the movie was a little different but I think they du an alright job with it.

I think the movie was kinda decent. George sucked he was all like lennie look over there and bang shot him. That was pritty gay to me. The movie was similar though to the book in many ways. Lennie was very well played so was slim. Curly also was a douche bag as a character. I felt he was to acted out and not origanal. I think the differences hinderd the storyline because the characters in the book were less acted then the movie and i could better picture them in the book. I would have changed george and curlys actors.
I do not think that any of the differences were neccesary. The few differences that were there didn't make that big of a difference. These differences probley didn't help the story line. The differences changed the plot too much and it made it a little confusing. I probley would have changed how Lennie died. I didn't like that George killed him. Other than that everything would have been the same as the book. I think I liked the Movie more than the book because I got to visualize more.
I thought that the movie got the story line good but I don't believe that the characters were portrayed as there were in the book. In the movie, Lennie was a lot different than in book. In the book they portrayed him as this sweet loving guy but in the movie he isn't so loving when he chokes out curleys wife. I think that this was a pretty big difference in the storyline because is was just so noticable. I would have made Lennie more of a gentle giant like he is portrayed in the book.
Sorry all my blogs for the week are late but this is the first day I have gotten on the computer since my trip. I hope its all cool that I did it on Saturday.
Overall i thought the movie was alright. The differences i noticed from the movie and the book was Lennies character. Lennie seemed a lot sweeter and innocent in the book. In the movie when he got scared and refused to let go he seemed like he ment to be hurting curley and curleys wife. I cant say whether this change was made the movie better or not but that characteristic of Lennie definitley wasnt intended by the author. If i were to change this movie i would have changed the end and how George responded to Lennie's death. I think George looked like he was going to regret what he was doing too much which ruined the ending for me. All in all though the movie was a good imitation of the book.
I think the film was a little bit different then the novella. I personally liked the novella better because it has more details and gives you a better idea of whats happenings. Films are always good too because you can actually have a picture in your head of whats going on. I don't think any differences between the two were neccessary because you can put all the details into both. I think the novella enhanced the differences but the film kinda hindered it because it took some details out that were in the novella. So not as much really happened in the film. I would have added the same details in the film that were in the novella. I would want them to both be alike by having the same features.
I looked friday and there was no blog and it was posted saturday so I hope its okay that I did it sunday.
i didnt see the whole film because i wasint here on Friday but from what i saw i do think the changes they made were necessary to understand what is happening better. like how it showed them getting chased out of weed. this saved us from having to listen to a very long conversation of them having to tell us that. i think the changes i saw enhanced the story and made it easier and more enjoyable to watch. i think i would have chose a different lennie. i dont no i just dont like him haha.
i actually like the movie over the book because i gave me a better idea of how the characters acted. i actually did not see many differences between the movie or the book. the reason is because the book is so easy to follow because its the only way you can interpret the book. so integrating the book ideas was a very good idea sense i enjoyed the book. so i think that the movie enhanced the book because not all movies based off of books follow the story line but this is one that does. if i could change anything in the movie i wouldn't. the reason is because i thought they mastered the transformation from book to movie.
I looked all night Friday and it wasn't up then went to a friends house and just saw it now... i hope its fine.
I thought the movie was very well done. Lennie was a lot different then what i thought he was going to be. I think that the killing of curleys wife needed to be a little less extreme. In the book, it felt like she didn't scream at all. The difference hindered it a little bit. This is because the book had lennie portrayed as a guy who wouldn't hurt anyone even if others made him. I would have made the end scene a little more dramatic in George's part. It was like he didnt even care that he just killed his companion.
I thought the movie was pretty good. I felt Lennie was more childish then i thought of him in my head. I feel like they should have made Curley a little more stocky, and Slim a little more intimidating. It would have helped to show their character more like they were potrayed in the book. It didn thave much effect on the story line, however it deffinately could have added more detail to the characters. In the film i would have kept the part where Lennie was drinking from th epond because it showed how he was a little "off" faily well.
