We continue to watch "A Man Without A Face." We see the unravelling of how people can misunderstand what makes people tick, think and behave. We try and understand that when we misperceive people we tend to make mistakes about who they are or what they stand for.
Another issue that comes into play for this movie is social injustice. If you are not sure what this concept means then Google it! Give your own definition of social injustice with an example. Then, give 3 examples of social injustices that are seen in the movie. Then, talk about how we, as people, need to defend social injustice in order to make a better society.

I believe that social injustice is when people wrong someone because of something that they do or did. In the movie, social injustice shows itself all throught it. One example is when the little boy doesn't get a say in where he lives after his mom marries that guy. Another social injustice is how everybody in the town thinks of mel gibson as a freak and outcast him from the rest of the town. Lastly, how the kids all cannot get along is another social injustice that needed to be fixed. We as a society need to fix some things like how we view others and not judging people due to appearance to make our society better.

I think that social injustice is when people make judgements based on their personal beliefs and acuse people of things because of that. For example, assuming that the graphiti on the desk is because of the kid in class who doesn't try is judgemental and although it may be true it is socail injustice to just assume it. In the movie, a social injustice is how people accuse Mel Gibson's character of being a murder because of his accident and the effect it had on his appearance. Another example is how Charlie can't tell his mother he goes to see Gibson because of the things she thinks about him. And finally, another example is how Charlie's friends make fun of him for wanting to study for his test. They call him a nerd when simply he just is trying to escape from his family life. In order to make a better society, we should illiminate social injustice by just trying to be less judgemental and don't accuse people of things based on our perception of the person.
Social injustice is everywhere whether you have see it or not. my definition of social injustice is society perceiving you wrong because of how you look pushing you to the point of living in solitude and avoiding others. one example of this in the movie A Man Without A Face is when the kids are making fun of him and calling him names because of his accident. another one is when he comes to the store late at night because he doesn't want anybody seeing or judging him. another example is at the party they are insulting McCloud even tho he is not there. if we want a perfect society we must stop looking on the outside f people and start looking for what they are inside because McCloud is not as scary as people perceive him.this is how social injustices affect the way the movie unravels.
social injustice is when i a group or person is being treated bon the badley or unfairly from a nother group or person. this can be based on there balifes or views, what they did or evan what they look like or come from. social injustice is shown in the movie in a few different ways. one is how everybody is judging mel because of how he looks. another is how his sister is saying that chuck is a bad kid because his father was a drunk and killed himself. people need to stop judging people on aperences and things like that. things that have nothing to do with who they truly are.
Social injustice is judgeing people on how they look and act. One example of social injustice is how the school shrink judged Chuck when he made his emotionless face. She thinks he is going to be crazy and that he is weird. Another injustice is when Everyone sees McLeod. They all think he's a merdurer or a pornography writer. They way the kids first are meeted by the dog they think that he is evil. Now that Chuck has become friends with the dog he is nice to him and not evil. For the society to become better we need to defend social injustice because when we do people get ot know us for who we are and not how we are percieved.
To me, a social injustice is a hatred towards a certain person, or group of people, due to differences. An example is, the Nazi regime disfavoring the Jew's during the Holocaust. An example of a social injustice in "A Man Without A Face" is against Mr. McLeod by the people of the town. Some of the people of the town are hateful towards Mr. McLeod, because they're afraid of him. They really don't understand him, and believe that he is inwardly dangerous. Another example is against Chuck by his sister Gloria. It is said that Gloria was always competing with Chuck for affection from his step father. For this Gloria resented Chuck, and verbally harassed him constantly. A third example of social injustice in the movie "A Man Without A Face" is, against the Norstadt children by their mother. She may not notice it but Mrs. Norstadt doesn't think about her children in the decisions she's making. She decides to marry "The Hairball" but doesn't think about the effect on her children. If she marries him then they will all have to move, meet new friends, and start new lives, against their liking.
I think social injustice is when people judge other people on there appearences or who they hang out with, who there parents are, what religion they are and many more. An example would be when some people dont talk to other people because of who they know. One example in the movie is how Charles is percevied by his sister. Another one is how Mel Gibsons character is talked about in the towna dn they do not know him. Another example is when the kids have an incounter with the dog. They think that Mel Gibsons character is evil. We need to defend social injustice. We could do this by trying to get to knows people before we start to judge them. If we do not judge people then we could make society better.
Social injustice to me is the act of judging people negatively without knowing their whole story, creating unfairness. In the movie, social injustice was shown twice from charles's sister. Once when she was verbally attacking Gibson's character while the family was playin scrable. Also when she was telling charlie that he was going to grow up to be a psycho just like his father. His mother clearly hid that information from him and she blew it. One last example of social injustice is when charles's friends who were talking to him when he was on his boat, were spreading rumors about Gibson's character like it was their business. To make a better society, we need to fight social injustice nonviolently, such as Gandhi beleived.
In my oppinion, a social injustice is something that isnt fair. An example of this would be child soildering, because the children are forced to go into wars and fight. In the movie, McLeod is treated badly by people because people think he killed a kid and is a creepy pedophile. He is also been made fun of and pushed aside because of his scars from the accident. We need to defend people who are victims of social injustices in order to better our society.
Social injustice to me is unfairness in society. For example People treat other races differently because they think there better then them because of the color of there skin. In the movie The man with no face is treated as a freak because his face got burnt in a car crash. Then the kid told How he got burnt now people this hes a child killer. Also the kids mother is marrying the hairy guy and the kids have no say at all. I believe we should focuse defending social injustice because it could help creat world peace. If we did judge people maybe it would make us better. Even though world peace will never come with humans here it could help.
Social injustice is when people are treated inhumanly, disrespectfully, or are harshly judged. An example is people who have been diagnosed with mental retardation. People without this make harsh nick names and make fun of those diagnosed even though they have no control over it. One example seen in the movie is how people judge the boy for hanging around Mel Gibson's character. Another is how people assume he is a murderer after finding out that the child was killed in the car accident. And the third is how people create rumors and horrible stories about this poor man who has never hurt or harmed them in any way. He keeps to himself and doesn't bother any one and they should respect that. To keep social injustice out of our society we need to quit judging! We need to quit assuming! We need to quit the rumors! We need to accept people for who they are AFTER we get to know them.
I believe that social injustice means that when people have hatred towards a certain person, or group of people, is due to differences. One example of this would be when Americans were trying to get rid of Communists in America due to there way of governing their area of the Earth. another example is assuming that the graphiti on the desk is because of the kid in class who doesn't try is judgmental and although it may be true it is socail injustice to just assume it. One example from the movie is how everybody is judging Mel Gibson character because of how he looks. Another example from the movie is how Charlie can't tell his mother he goes to see Gibson because of the things she thinks about him. The last example from the movie is how his sister is saying that chuck is a bad kid because his father was a drunk and killed himself. For the society to become better we need to defend social injustice because when we do people get ot know us for who we are and not how we are perceived, eliminate social injustice by just trying to be less judgmental and don't accuse people of things based on our perception of the person, and to fix some things like how we view others and not judging people due to appearance to make our society better.

Social justice seems to me like the way people represent themselves and how they want to be perceived. Like when someone wants to be known as the nice person down the street living a happy life, then they present themselves that way. The total opposite of that is social injustice. When people view others as the total opposite then they are, without reasoning or a way to back it up. In the movie, this is demonstrated a few times. Like when the friends of Charley accuse Mel Gibson of killing a kid in the car crash. Or when Charley has to sneak around to visit Mel Gibson because his mom and sister think he is wierd and creepy. Or the times when Charleys peers make fun of Mel Gibson and call him hamburger face. That is just cruel and mean and demonstrates social injustice. Our society as a whole should not treat people with such carelessness of others feelings and we just need to be nice and considerate of others. We just need to put ourselves in others shoes. If we are too quick to judge, it can destroy our social society as we know it. Treat others with respect, no doubt you will get it back in return. Remember that everyone!
I think social injustice is when you look and judge someone on the way they look on the outside. An example of this is when your walking down the hall and you see a girl. You automatically judge her because shes wearing weird clothes and is hanging out with people you don't. You would consider her being weird. One example from the movie is when Charles sees Mr. Mccloud for the first time and he gets scared. Another example is when the kids ride the boat to his house and Charles sees him through the window. Charles freaks out and they all run away. Last example is when Charles friends make fun of him because he is trying to pass his test and study. We as people need to defend social injustice to make our society better because people judge everyone too much. People don't talk to people because some of the reasons why they judge them. They never get to see anyone on the inside. They just figure things about them and believe things that might not be true. If people didn't judge, then there would be less drama and more people would be friends with each other.
I think a social injustice is when people judge others based upon their own thoughts or others thoughts. An example of this is a new kid coming into school and everyone thinks they are stuck up. Although that is a possiblity do you really know if its a fact until you meet them? No you dont therefore it is a social injustice to make the assumption they are. In the movie "A Man Without A Face" this is shown when everyone assumes Mel Gibsons character has done many things wrong in his lifetime such as killing his girlfriend just by the way he looks. Another example from this movie would be how everyone thought differently of Charles when he started hanging around the man. Just because someone hangs around another people shouldnt assume they are alike until they know the whole story. The last example is when the kids started spreading rumors on the boat together. They judged gibsons character from what they had seen of him. I think maybe some of them didnt think this but just because one started saying it the others chimed in because they were influenced. We as people need to defend social injustice because if we do not want to be perceived by how we look or act or many other things we shouldnt perceive that of others.
My definition of social injustice is when people are mean to others because they have made judgements based off of different beliefs or traits. An example of this would be when blacks were mistreated by whites because they were different and misunderstood. The first example from this movie of social injustice is how Charles is percieved by his sister. She is constantly ridiculing him even though he has done nothing wrong. Another example is how the townspeople treat Mel Gibsons character. He tolerates false accusations towards him all because he looks and acts different. Lastly, is when Charles friends tease him when they dont understand how important passing this test is to him. As a society we can defend social injustice by taking the time to understand others and not be so quick to judge our peers.
Social injustice is judging people based on what you hear and see, but not what you actually know about a person. An example of this is teenage girls in high school. Some girls won't even talk to someone just because they don't wear the same clothes as them or are different than them. A social injustice in the movie is the way that Gloria treats Charles. Gloria really knows nothing about Charles and she always teases him about stupid stuff. Another example is the way that Charles' teachers have treated him in the past. He says that his teachers think that he is mentally impared but they haven't gone deeper to see what the real problem is. Lastly, a social injustice in the movie is how the whole town judges Mr. Mcleod. If you really got to know him you would know he is a compassionate man who never intends to scare anyone. We need to defend social injustice in order to make a better society because all of this judging of people only limits who you know. If we all stop judging then our society could be better because there wouldn't be as much racism and discrimination.
Social injustice has huge effect in this movie. My definition of Social Injustice would be judgments made about the person that is unfair to this person. There were plenty of injustices in the movie. One of these injustices would be how Charles sister Gloria treats Charles. Gloria thinks that she is better then Charles so she treats him like crap. The second example would be when Charles is cut out of the deal when his mom gets married. Charles has to go live with them, he doesn't have a choice. The third example would be how the children view Mel. The children think hes a freak because of a freak accident. We need to try and stop judging people in a negative way to become a better society.
Social injustice is when people treat a person or a group of people badly for no sensible reason. An example of social injustice is when people treat Arabic people poorly on planes, in some cases the people aren’t even let on the plane, and this because of preconceived notions about them. These preconceived notions given to them by terrorists male them think that every Arabic guy that’s flying somewhere must be a terrorist. One example is the obvious of how people treat the man just because he looks weird. For a more specific example of how he’s mistreated because of how he looks would be the way that people assume it was his fault that the kid died in the car crash. Charles is also an example of social injustice because of the way people treat him, they treat him like this just because he seams stupid. The third example of this would be the both of them being together, people fined it odd, but if Charles was to hang out with anyone ells it wouldn’t be ‘frowned upon’.
I don’t know why we “need to defend social injustice in order to make a better society”, most people would think that defending it would be a bad thing.
My definition of a social injustice is doing something bad to someone because they have something different about them or they made a mistake. Social injustices are happening all over the world and are illustrated in the movie very well. One one the injustices is between the community and Mel because he got into a car accident and burned his face. He likes to live in solitude so people make judgements about him. Another social injustice is between his older sister and him. They fight a lot and his older siser is mean to him because of his father, his father was not liked in the family and because of that he is not favored in the family either. Lastly, an injustice was between charles and his moms new husband. Charles judges him to early without even getiing to know him because of the past husbands that she has had. She has made mistakes in the past which leads to social injustices for no reason, this is for no reason and doesnt need to happen. Social injustices happen all the time and are because people perceive people a certain way and it doesnt need to happen.
