Make sure you do the following this evening:
1. Study vocab
2. Study grammar
3. Finish chapter 2 with the worksheet
I am a bit nervous about your novel study as people are stating they have not even finished the book. This project will take you days to complete if you are doing it with any pride factor. 10 days is not a great deal of time when there is other stuff going on in this class and others.
For this evening, please do a current event. This may not be sports or entertainment unless you can attach it to something that is current in society or impacts society. Remember that this is not just a summary of an event but you must discuss why you chose it and how it impacts you, your community, or your society. NO CITE, NO POINTS AND THE CITE MUST BE IN THE ORIGINAL BLOG.

Today, my current event is about the death of Natasha Richardson last night. She was skiing on a beginner hill, with no helmet, and fell and hit her head. She got up and said she was fine, but a couple hours later, she was complaing of massive head aches. Well, she ended up having to call paramedics, and was rushed to the hospital immediatly. It was reported that yesterday she was brain dead, and was being taken off life support. I chose this event because i think that it is awful that she died this way, and that everyone needs to be more careful when skiing or snowboarding. Also, because it shows how important it is to wear helmets when skiing or snowboarding, becasue you never know what can happen.

Mr. Kay,
I would say that the United States are on a fast track to a depression. Poll after poll, the numbers just get worse. As said in the article I read on CNN, people are getting fed with their medical bills and they don't like the services they are being presented. They say the health care costs are too much for something to little. I think that this shows how the economy just shows no getting better. People don't even want to pay for their health care costs. I hope that the government steps in a makes this right. If not, the US is in for a world of hurt. I know that soon, people will actually stop paying those bills. Soon people will stop paying for school, and food and water and then you know what, were dead. Okay, maybe it isn't that destructive, but it sure is close. I am sort of sick of hearing about these things that just show how terrible the economy is.

For my current event i'm going to write about how auto suppilers get 5 billion dollers in aid. The treasury department is trying to stabilize the battered auto industry. Its going to provide $5 billion for troubled auto parts suppilers. The funds would be avaiable from the governments Troubled Assets Releif Program. It would create a financial entity similar to a revovling credit to provide financing auto parts. The U.S. automakers General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford Motors have the option of using the program and would be required to pay a 5 percent fee up to $ 250 million to join. I think that they are giving them this money because of the economy.

in washington a tidal wave of angry people because bonuses paid to executives of the foundering American International Group. The house voted 328 to 93 on thurseday. So they decided to get back most of the money by levying a 90 percent tax on it. this easily went through a procedural hurdle needing a two thirds majority vote. Probably next week the sennate will similar measures. I dont really think that this does anythinf to our society. In washington it effecsts their society though. i dont think they like having people rampage everywhere in an angry group.

My current event is about Natasha Richardson and her death. This past Monday, Natasha Richardson when on skiing trip. During a beginner ski lesson she fell and hit her head. But soon after she returned to her room she complained of head pain and was taken to a nearby hospital, then to a larger medical center in Montreal. She was flown by private jet Tuesday to a New York hospital. According toa family statement, she died Wednesday. Such injuries are known as epidural hemorrhage. Blood gets trapped between the skull and the hard layer of skin between the bone and brain, known as the dura mater. As the blood flows from the ruptured artery, the fluid builds and punctures the dura.
Just blows my mind because she hit her head and caused her head to bleed internally. Yet she didn't die until 2 days later! In some ways I can believe that but at the same time I can't. She caused tht much damage to her brain/ head, I would've thought she'd die on the spot.

Josef Fritzl got the life sentence for imprisoning his daughter for 24years, raping her, and fathering her eight children, one of which died shortly after birth. On of the children got deathly ill and was taken to the hospital. She was 19, and hospital staff became suspitious, and then contacted police who found the cellar in their home. I think its disgusting that a father would/could do this to his own daughter. She spent half of her life in a room with no daylight. Her life will never be the same and she missed a lot of experiences she could ofhad if her fatther wasn't a freak.

Mr.Kay,
For my blog tonight i want to talk about an article i found on cnn.com about head injurys. The article firist talked about how minor head injuries can become very serious quite fast. They call it, "talk and die syndrome." they call it this because at first when people get hit in the head they dont notice andything. But, they could actually be haveing brain bleeding and not feel the symptoms at first. In my opinion i think if you ever get hit in the head you should get it checked out because it could be really bad. Thats probally easier said then done in my case because in color guard we get hit in the head quite often and if we had to run the hostiptal after every hit we would never get any practice in. But, overall i do think that if it was a hard hit you should get it checked or something to make sure your okay.

A jury has convicted a man of murdering 4 young children who were thrown to their deaths from an Alabama bridge last year. The jury deliberated for only about 40 minutes in Mobile on Thursday before convicting Lam Luong of murder. The defendant, who came to the United States from Vietnam as a teenager, declined an opportunity to address the court and presented no defense witnesses at trial.r. The bridge was 80 ft high. He did this because of a argument with his wife. The chrilden were, Hannah Luong, 2, Lindsey Luong, 1 and Danny Luong, 4 months, the fourth was Phan's son with another man, Ryan Phan, and he was 3. Today their is more depressing news from wall street. It seems that after a slight decline in ivesting the numbers have again dropped. The Dow lost 84 points and the nasdaq also lost 8 points. As soon as investors start to increase confidence stocks will start to go up again. Their are over 5 million americans collecting unemployment benefits. I guess I wrote about this because i care about the fututre of our country. I just hope we do not slip into a depression. It just doesnt seem like our country could get much worse.

My current even is on Josias Kumpf. Kumpf was a guard at a Nazi concentration camp. In November of 1943, “Aktion Erntefest," meaning Operation Harvest Festival, took place. at this operation 42,000 Jewish people were killed. at 83 years of age he has now confessed to his involvement in this operation. When government officials heard of his confession they striped him of his citizenship and deported him back to Austria. I think that this is important because of government is securing our country of inhumane individuals. It is important to know that our government will not tolerate injustice. It provides me with a safe thought that our government is trying to rid the country of these criminals. as well i believe that people need to realize they cannot get away with injustices, and the crimes will result in consequences.

Today ill be doing my blog on the next superhero that saved a 61 year old mans life. Yesterday as one man was waiting for the train to arrive in the 34st subway stop, he noticed a man slip and fall into the tracks of the subway. At the fall the man lost his footing causeing him to slip and hit his head on the tracks knocking him unconcious. The man that witnessed this has been auditioning and trying to become an actor and currently is in many plays, jumps down to help the man. the unconcious man would not wake or anything so the man decided to lift him up and toss him back over the edge. at this time the train was nearly 20 seconds away and he still had to get him self over. Reporters say the man got back over in nearly enough time when the train had passed 15 seconds latrer.
I decided to blog on this finding it not only interesting but nice. i am glad that there are people out there that are willing to do such things to save the life of others whether they know the person or not. Only if everyone in society was this way.

Mr. Kay,
(The Oakland Press)Actress Natasha Richardson died on Wednesday from a sking accident. 45 year old actress Natasha Richardson and her family went to Canada for some family time. Natasha was learning how to ski with one of her sons. They were on the bunny hill, observers say that she had a little trouble with her ski's and she took a small tumble. Her quote on quote "small tumble" lead to her dramatic death. Doctors believe that she encountered the "talk and die" syndrome. Doctors believe that she must have hit her head on something very hard and stable to have caused this. Her family is having a really hard time with her passing.

Dear Mr.Kay,
this evening, i would like to speak about the current topic of (as he spins the dart board throwing his dart, which it selects:)
__________________________________________________
Music Piracy. now, there are a lot of people out there who do it, and there are also a lot of programs, and/or ways of getting a hold of music; 99% it is illegal, or the music itself is illegal (see "Girl-Talk" at the end of this blog). Now while it passes through our heads as a no biggie, and we just search for songs that we like, why don't we just get the music legally?
well, the biggest concern for the normal person, is the fact about money, and while money is pretty tight, it should not come down to virtually STEALING. something you can do, is read about setting up an account with your parents, where they can give you a monthly itunes gift allowance, so that you can get the songs you want, or tell them, i will do _X_ amount of chores, for an additional _X_$ (to learn more about a itunes allowance, see "iTunes" at the bottom).
Now, an even bigger concern, for the techie in your local classroom, is that Damned DRM, A.K.A Digital Rights Management. With Windows Media Player, Rhapsody, Napster, and many other Online Retailers, to exclude iTunes, and even some CD's have DRM on Them. in laymen's terms, DRM means you can only play this music on our player, or in our application. which is known as a proprietary object, whatever it may be. Just Like Mac OS X, you are only legally able to run it on There Hardware(thats why i love it, cause they make both, which makes it a way better machine than windows will ever be). recently though, iTunes has removed their DRM on Every Single Song that they now sell. now, for those who pirate things, thats great, but for the enforcement of the law, this makes it really hard to track things. extremely hard. now, on the other hand, they made a good move, as viewed by those who don't have an iPod, that they will now use iTunes because they can now buy their music, and burn it to as many mix-CD's as they want. pretty good in the end, but for those whose job it is to track down those distributing the material, it makes it near impossible to trace.
in conclusion, with music piracy, and the ease of use that comes with doing it, it takes shear will not to do this, and to legally buy the music, cause remember, those who create your music (except Rappers) need money. so, keep them going, and keep you from out of the coppers watchful eye, and buy your music the right way.
Now...
"Girl-Talk" is [(A.) a whole playlist dedicated to his songs, and (B.) one of my favorite Artist's ever] a music Mash-up Artist who takes audio samples from songs, and reorders them, and layers them to form, in my opinion, a pretty damn awesome 4 albums (so far). now the Music industry would classify his musical re-renditions as illegal, but he does not sell them. he only allows "donations" which, with a better donation, gives you a better premium, with a 20$ donation, you can get a CD copy of it, with a case. now, in my idea, and a few others, it introduces me to a new genre almost every time i listen to one of his tracks. now, with this being a great way to get into new Genres, you should still of course, buy this music legally.
in conclusions conclusion; just buy it, don't steal.
Sincerely;
Andrew Colin Visger

My blog is on the death of actress Natasha Richardson. Natasha died on Monday after sufffering a brain injury during a skiing accident. Natasha was on a beginner's slope in Montreal. People do not realize how vulnerable the brain is. Natasha seemed ok after the accident, even talking. However, that was not the case. Natasha died on Wednesday from the injury to her brain. It could have been due to a hemorrhage in the brain, blockage of the spinal fluid channels or the onset of severe swelling in the brain. I chose this article because it brings back a lot of memories for me. The day I will never forget is May 14.... that is the day I suffered a brain injury myself. After my accident I felt ok and my mom laid me down and a few hours later I was vomitting, dizzy, and could hear ringing in my ears. My mom took me to Huron Valley were they told us that my skull was fractured from top to bottom. I was then transferred to William Beaumont Hospital. You think everything is fine, but the brain is very vulnerable. Once the protective covering of the brain is broken there is many things that can go wrong. Yes, I lost some of my hearing and cannot play contact sports, but, I am alive and we are thankful everyday for that. I wish Natasha's family would have had the same results as I did. My heart goes out to her family and I will say a special pray for them.

the current event i have chosen is on obesity. i think it is very serious peroblem we have in the US. many people dont even realize the concept of being obese, they think being obese is someone well over their average body weight. in reality to be considered obese you only have to be 30 pounds over your rtecommended wight for your height. the study i have read said that people who are obese live almost a year shorter than a person with a healthy body weight. specialists say that becuase it is such a struggle to get the weight off once its there,it is best to try to keep your weight under control in the early stages of weight gain.

Well Congress is try to put faith in wall st.. The economy is at/near it's worst. Consumer confidence will be NOTHING for awhile. Stocks have been in the negatives for a long time. For some reason NO ONE has any money! I wondered how this happened?! Like the Great depression in the 1920s all the money just disappeared! How did this happened? The people have less money in their pockets and now the entire system is gone! And here I am scratching my head at this

President Obama topped a town hall appearance Wednesday by claiming responsibility for the bonuses paid out to executives at the bailed-out insurance giant American International Group, saying, "I'm outraged, too" as Oboma states. As Oboma also says "Cushioned by high approval ratings, analysts said Obama can emerge from this controversy relatively unscathed, but there's only so many times he can get away with saying, "Blame me". In the stimulus bill passed last month, Congress had an opportunity to put a stop on those mega-bonuses. But in a last-minute adjustment the language of the legislation was changed. Even though Oboma is blaming himself and tell everyone to blame him i dont think is his falt. Its nothing but our falt. Our presedent should not what so ever blame himsilf for others actions even thought its showing everyone how good of a presadent we have for taking the blame for something that was never his falt.

Another attack in the past couple days on the Gaza Strip has many people worried. The Israeli military has been chosen to investigate this matter because another 22 Palestinians were killed. Land was also a factor in this attack. I chose this topic for my current event because so many people have been killed in this tiny area. Nobody has really done anything to stop this matter because everyone is afraid to get involved. No matter how much investigating is done, the matter will never be resolved because no one is willing to cooperate. This effects our society because this shows the danger faced in other countries and we really don't know how lucky we have it right now. We should be helping them because we are one of the world powers. With so many people dying over there, you would think someone would try to help in this matter.

Finally! Windows 7 is just around the corner. Windows has made a new operating system that will take the best of every OS out their and wrap it all up into one amazing version of Windows. Windows 7 is said to be released in the Fall of 2009. Many computer enthusiasts are getting ancy for the highly anticipated windows improvement. I have been waiting for this for a long time. I am really excited to see what Microsoft has done with the new OS. I hope it will be as amazing as it is hyped up to be. Windows 7 will have a cool new feature to make your screen transparent with a click of a button to see what you have on your desktop. It will also, on its own organize all the windows open into equal patterns.

I huge earthqauke struck the coast of Tonga. The quake struck at 6:17 a.m. local time. At a depth of just 6.2 miles, it is considered a shallow earthquake. Normaly, the shallower the quake, the more destructive it is. But that is not always the case. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said it was 7.7. There were no reports of damage or death. The earthquake struck a few hours after a volcano erupted off Tongatapu, Tonga. It is a goos thing that nobody died during this earthquake. Poeple remember what happend last time when a tsunami hit. Good thing this diddn't happen again.

My blog tonight is on the Russian military aircraft that flew just 500 feet over two U.S. Navy ships this week. The ships participated in a joint military exercise with South Korea in the Sea of Japan, according to U.S. military officials. On Monday, two Russian Ilyushin IL-38 maritime patrol aircraft, known as "Mays," overflew the U.S. aircraft carrier Stennis. They flew over while it was in international waters in the Sea of Japan. The Russian aircraft flew about 500 feet over the ship, lower than other flights the Russians have made over U.S. ships in the past year. The USS Stennis was about 80 miles east of Pohang, South Korea. It was participating in the joint military exercise when the flyover occurred. On Tuesday, the USS Blue Ridge, a lead command and control ship, and the Stennis were overflown by two Russian "Bear" long-range bombers multiple times, according to U.S. military officials. I picked this current event cuz it was kind of ironic. Today in U.S. History we learned about Pearl Harbor. That also had to deal with forigne aircrafts flying over U.S. Navl Bases.

Health. Yes this is very big deal, no one wants to obese, does this decrease your life span you ask? why yes it does, 2-4 years my article says, and for the very obese its up to a decade you could be losing. They said that higher mortality because of diabetes, cardiovascular, kidney and liver disease. Cancer over a lot of dieases increase your BMI. They were studying that being overweight doesnt shorten your life, its just being obese.
I think this article doesnt affect me if effects the society so many people in north america and western europe are obease and the BMI is increasing, i think that everyone should do what they can so they can live a good life without worring bout things like weight. I got this from. cnnhealth.com:
Obesity can shorten lifespan up to a decade.

I'm going to write about how firefighters saved a woman caught in brush fire. a woman was making a fire with dry leaves and grass and brush. the fire spread and spread quickly. the lady was helpless at this point. she was saved because some firemen were going on by and saw the blaze and were already suited up and ready to go at that time. so the lady was lucky to be alive. let alone being lucky enough to have firemen right there even before she was badly burned.

The quake struck at 6:17 am local time. The USGS recorded the quake as 7.9 magnitude but the Pacific tsunami warning center said it was 7.7. For today i am going to talk about something related to sports and alcohol. First of all a pro football player hit and killed a pedestrian the other day in his bentley. He apparently had a blood-alcohol level of .12 when the legal limit is .08 which means he was drunk driving. This is something i think we need to find a way to stop. Everyday i would imagine something related to drunk driving happens and it's probably not for the good. I think maybe if someone has a certian amount of beer or alcohol then they have to show someone that hasn't is taking them home. Or at lleast something to slow down all the accidents and deaths. Plus, drunk driving is never a good thing so i don't understand why people do it.

I found a interesting article about a product called Fugoo. Its a product that is a simple wi-fi box that wireless links to thing in your home. Lets say you have a coffee maker that has the wi-fi in it. You could sync it with your shower so the moment you get out it starts brewing coffee. Surprisingly the boxes are fairly cheap at 99$. I am surprised they are able to have a simple product and have it do so many things with other appliances you own. We could eventually live in a place where all you need to do is wake up say a command and have multiple things run at the same time. That we have developed such technology is amazing. The fact we used to think a computer would take up an entire room to itself.

When that happens it can damage the brain stem causing vital organs to fail. This shows how people need to live there life to the fullest and be safe. I'm sure she had no idea it would come down to death after a simple fall. People need to wear safety gear, because if she wore it she probably would have lived.

Set up in a parking lot in seattle, theres a camp that houses 50 to 100 homeless people a day. People who have lost their job, and their house come here to set up a tent and live. Residents call it nickelsville. The name comes from seattle mayor greg nickels, who is the one to blame for the loss of homes and jobs. I find it crazy people living in tents day in and day out. I wouldbt be able to stand living in a tent for more than a couple days. Its sad our economy is comming to this, and maybe its a sign that this might start happening more and more.

I'm very upset about this article.A disgusting mentally ill 62yr professor from Connecticut flew to Detroit to have sex with a 5 yr old girl and her 3yr old sister. He was sentenced to 13yrs in prison.Thank God he was actually dealing with an undercover police officer. The police also discovered that he had a large collection of child porn.He also admitted to having sex with a 14yr old girl and her 8 yr old sister in 2005.During the investigation they found another professor from New Haven who also had a collection a child porn.People like this need to be executed and not waste tax payers money.
For my current event this evening, I've decided to do my blog about 4 kids that were killed by a drunk driver. From the website wxyz, is where I got my information from. Earlier this week 4 students were killed by a drunk driver, with the blood-alcohol limit over by 3 times the legal limit. How this event impacts me is that no matter how much of a safe driver you are, you never know what can happen. You could be the best driver in the world, but yet in the blink of a eye, it could be all over. The cause however, may not be your fault, but you always have to watch your surroundings, for yourself, and the people who surround you. Now a days, there are to many incidents with teens getting killed by drunk drivers, or being the drunk driver. In reality, this could be anyone, your friends, family, or even just a classmate you never really talked to. Drunk driving incidents don't just impact teens they impact our community and society. How you ask? Your family member/fried/acquaintance does not have to be involved in a accident, to be affected by it. Especially with our generation soon to all be driving and being on the road by themselves, or worse being under the influence. Parents take a risk everyday letting their kids drive, hoping that they taught them well, and they'll be careful, watch their surroundings and not making wrong decisions.

When It Comes To Shampoo, Less Is More!
Apparently, some studies have proved that shampoo-ing less is good for your hair. Americans shampoo twice as much than Italians and Spaniards according to Proctor & Gambol.
In some eco-friendly societies, people are trying to give up shampoo. Buying shampoo uses a lot of plastic, and reducing the amount of bottles purchased can reduce pollution.
Jeanne Haegele, in an effort to buy less shampoo, washed her hair with baking soda twice a week and conditioned it with a vinegar rinse. After a while, she developed a serious dandruff issue, but realized her hair wasn't greasy.
I find it kind of icky-nasty to nit wash your hair, but it's understandable. A scientist said that shampoo strips the hair of sebum oil, and causes the glands to produce more oils. Thus, making your hair greasy. :\
So, STOP BECOMING LESS OF GREASE BALLS, AND START SAVIN' SOME MONEH!

Tonight I am going to talk about Jay Leno. As much as he is a comedian, he is a nice and caring guy I have come to learn. When I heard about how he is going to help out Michigans unemployed, I was really suprised and happy at the same time. I really think that he cares for the rest of the world, unlike others who do good things to promote themself. He is trying to make an impact with the money and power that he has. But,. with every good thing that you do, there are others that are trying to get something out of it. On 97.1FM THE TICKET, yet again, said that there were people getting the tickets(which are free) and selling them on eBAY. When I see something like this, it makes me sick. People just want to cheat people out of everything. I just am really impressed with Jay Leno, and happy that he found a way to have these tickets stopped being sold.

tonight i am going to talk about how a school in Texas uses cage fights to settle among problem students. i think that this is a good way to handle disputes because at least it is under supervision, because the kids will still fight and adults can not stop it. the principle of the school put the students in a cage with bare fists and no head gear and let them fight. i think that if you can settle a dispute in a cage fight then so be it. just only let them fight fore like 3 minutes.

Today for my current event I want to talk about the current research on obesity. Recent studies have shown by being obese it can shorten your life by up to a decade. Ali Mokdad a professor at the global Institution of health at the university of Washington in Seattle, said "this is a very scary and something we should pay close attention to." In society people do not really adress the harm of obesity or it's related illnesses. While weight loss is hard to acomplish, researchers are saying the steps are not to put on the weight in the first place. While researchers say being overweight does not affect your lifespan, being obese or majorly over weight is what causes the problems. With this being a huge risk factor for adults researchers hope people will take the proper steps to prevent this.

I am going to talk about the Suicide Forest in Japan. This forest is where many go to kill themself. This forest has he highest number of suicides in the country. Japan does seem like a harsh place to live. Many feel that they have no point of living anymore, so they go to the forest and die. Taro, a 46 yr old, was found alive after slitting his wrists. He said that he had no more desire to live. He said he had just gotten layed off. I believe this forest is a tragic place and should be controlled. Japan should take action and try and stop the suicides taking place there.

For my current event, I chose all the suicides happening in Japan. People are going to the Aokigahara Forest and committing suicide because of the depressing economy. People are choosing this forest because it is very dense and easy to disappear in. An example is Taro, a 46 year old man that bought a one way ticket to the forest and tried to kill himself slitting his wrists after losing his job. He didn't succeed and walked around for a few days until some hikers found him and alerted the police. He was dehydrated and frostbitten and had to lose several toes. The government said there were 2,645 suicides reported in January 2009 but they expect the numbers to get higher. They are trying to prevent it with anti-suicide signs in the forest and cameras to monitor the activity. I think suicide is a horrible thing to do but unfortunately it still happens. People feel that they would rather die that face their problems which I don't agree with. I think people need to become more aware of this so it can be prevented.

Today my current event is about the plane crash in Ecuador that happened at 5:30 today. A small military plane on a training flight crashed in the populous city Quito, Ecuador. Three people aboard and three people on ground were killed. The aircraft was carrying members of the military. The airplane crashed into a building, setting it on fire. Kyle Kendall, an English teacher, heard the plane crash and raced inside to save some of the people in the building. However, the heat of the fire made him turn around on the second floor, unable to save anyone. The crash is said to be caused by heavy fog. A case like this is a tragedy, with six killed in the accident. I am surprised that the plane crashing into the building did not cause more casualties. The building must have been somewhat vacant. I chose this story because it only happened 5 hours ago. It impacted me in a way that I felt bad for the ones who died and their family. I does not impact the society around us, but in Ecuador it does. Family members were lost, along with military officers.

Today I read the article "Ecudaor: Six die from Quito plane crash". A military plane crashed on Thursday. The total deaths were three on board and tree on the ground. It crashed in Quito, the capital city of Ecuador. It's lucky more people weren't killed because it is a populated city. This is sad and scary because you never relize that crazy stuff like this could happen. It's an example that you are never completely safe. Hopefully, military will figure out exactly why this plane crashed and do something about it. Like updateing planes or give pilots more training on what to do in fog.

I read in today’s Detroit Free Press that on Monday Roseville police warned Frances Dingle not to drive. Two and half hours later she killed four teens. Her blood alcohol almost 3 times the legal limit. The police responded to a domestic disturbance involving Jeff Babel and his girlfriend, who was Dingle’s friend; Dingle was visibly intoxicated. Dingle had a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.23% when her van slammed in to the teen’s stopped car. For the record, you will be arrested for having a BAC of 0.08% while driving.
This is important to our whole society to know not to drink and drive because alcohol makes you lose your focus and slow your reactions. Also you never have full control over yourself while drunk. If there were wiser people in the world you would carpool with a designated driver or wait to drink once you get home and don’t have to go anywhere else to go.
I chooose to talk about someone whom we havent heard much about lately: Sarah Palin. The vice presidential candidate in the 2008 election has announced that she will reject about half of the bailout money in the stimulous package. Instead, she said, quote:
"We will request federal stimulus funds for capital projects that will create new jobs and expand the economy. We won't be bound by federal strings in exchange for dollars, nor will we dig ourselves a deeper hole in two years when these federal funds are gone."
She has also stated that she will only acccept bailout money for public projects that are "job ready." I agree with this action becasue years from now when the money is used up, we will end up in a deeper hole if the money is used. I think it is a great idea, and many other governors should follow. After all, in the stimulous package, Obama said nothing about helping small businesses. They create most of the jobs in this country. To sum it up...I agree with Palin's actions.

I am going to talk about the crash that killed four teens that went to lake shore public schools by a druck driver. They crash acully happened but now all the facts are comming out to the public and its pretty bad she was .23% about three times the limit. An alcoholic Frances Dingle was drinking all day, whne she was kicked out of a house, and then the police came to a domestic disturbance, told her to go home, but to drive. Two hours later she got in the crash going what the police think 60 mph into a small chevy cobalt with her big van. I chose this event beacasue it is semi local and a strong evidence to what can happen if you drink and drive. This event effects me by showing me one more example to what can happen if you drink and drive. Just a few years back one of my cousins was killed when one of his freinds was drunk driving and hit a tree, it just makes me feel even stronger that nobody should drunk drive. People never learn, and thats the problem, they "think" that they are ok to drive, but in reallity none of they are real cabable to drive. They result effects so many people and runies so many lifes not just the five that were involed, the house owner girlfriend tryed to commit sucide after hearing about what happened. Its not worth the result just don't do it and dont take those chances beacause its likey that something will happen.

Since I did a blog on a current event that was already done... here is another one. The Bernard Madoff scancal. This scandal has affected many people. People have lost over 50 billion dollards to to this man. Currently Madoff is trying to get released from jail pending his sentencing. He has pleased guilty to security fraud and perjury. He swindled an unbelievable amount of people out of their life savings. I have been following this story since it broke and I am glad to see he is going to jail. Madoff has hurt our financial institutions and many innocent people. His act of injustice has cost our economy billions of dollars. He should not be able to set foot out of jail at anytime.

When It Comes To Shampoo, Less Is More
by Allison Aubrey
this article was about how people, mostly here in America shampoo too often. a lot of people think it is unsanitary and wierd. also they call it un-american, we kind jof made it part of our culture if you think about it. most people take showers at least once a day and wash their hair.personaly i agree and i like to wash my hair everyday. scientists say we dont need to shampoo everyday because it strips our hair of essential oils. this effects a few things like the business aspect. shampoo companies rely on people to buy more shampoo so they advertise to wash more often. however they are figuring out shampoo isnt very eco-friendly. some people are giving up shampooing while thinking of the enviorment. they substitute shampoo with baking soda.
Once again, another bailout plan has been created for our quickly falling economy. As of today, parts makers could get as much as $5 billion in governenment funding. There are as many as 500 parts suppliers who could be forced into liquidation in the next 60 days without government support. These companies employ about 500,000 American citizens which would be lost. Along with this, General Motors and Chrysler are facing the possiblilty of bankruptcy, and would become bankrupt much faster without the parts suppliers. Even healthier companies such as Ford and Toyota would be hurt greatly, because they get most of their parts from these companies as well. Auto sales dropped 18% last year, and sales are already running 39% below last year's levels in the first two months of this year alone.
I think that this bailout plan was the right decision for our economic time. There are so many jobs that could be lost in the very near future if not for this plan. After those jobs, more and more people would be fired from big companies like GM and Chrysler. It is a downhill spiral that is not ending soon, and we unfortunately have to use deficit spending to try to prevent us from reaching another depression. Michigan especially needed this bailout plan becuase most of our economy is based off of the auto industry. If that fails, Michigan's economy will plummit rapidly, and it will be much harder to try to repair the damage done.

One story that I read about on WXYZ.com really got my attention it was about a lady who killed four teenagers from Roseville, Michigan because she was drunk while driving. Devon Spurlock, Erica Haudek, Stephanie Currie, and Jordan Michalak were killed when their car was struck by a van driven by Frances Dingle. They say that her blood alcohol level was three times the normal limit. The four kids in the car weren't doing anything wrong either. They were just in a turn around on 13 mile road, little did they know there lives would end. The four kids were all under the age of 20. I think this is terrible, four innocent kids die because of this womens bad decision. Its scary to think one of them was a girl my age. This lady decided to drink and drive and it cost 4 teenagers there life. Now they will never be able to have a family, go to college or anything.

Today i will choose my event as the drunk driver who killed four yound adults in st patricks day. I think that there are more people killed by drunk drivers on this day than on any other. The lady oobviously had too much to drionk and made a bad descision. From what it said on channel 7 just now, is that she went into a roundaboutgoing 80 mph and hit a pole and then hit the stopped vehicle that the kids were in. I think that now, we need to do somehting to make the roads safer on this day. Should we close the bars and make people have to go to parties? Who knows but we must do something to change this.
Last year there was the biggest baby boom in American history. People are just having babies for no reason and are mostly teenagers. This is bad because the economy is terrible and all we need now are more people in our society. Actually its really stupid that people are having babies because everyone is broke. Babies are not a good idea right now and we are pretty much screwing our next generation. There is gonna be less money to go to people. I think that the economy is going to be worse than right now. The only people to blame are ourselves. Any ways it makes me mad to see this happen. No more babies. Fox news

2 U.S. journalists apparently held in N. Korea AP
Two U.S. journalists are found to be detained in North Korea for crossing over the board while finishing their reports about North Korean women, who are compelled to work as 'obscene phone call' lady. The two ladies were interviewing for their cable TV program 'Vanguard Journalism', which is being famous among youth in San Francisco.
Ever since there'd been peace talks between N. Korea and other a few countries, N. Korea's threat has been on climax now.
a Cargo plane bursts into flames at Tokyo airport. The pilot and co-pilot on the plane died. I think we should be more careful with building our transportation devices. One little mistake and the things blow up and end up killing people. We should also be careful when it comes to landing our planes. I don't know why it burst into flames I think it just carshed.. They where both in the hospital before they died, so it's not like it was immediate. Which actually sucks...
