Mr.Kay,
For my blog today I'm going to write about spit. I found an artilce on the cnn website about saliva being diffrent in every person. The people in the article gave out a test on 120 people about the saliva. In my opinion i think that saliva is a really weird thing. I know that it helps you, like to chew your food and stuff. In the article they said that saliva was a part of evolution , and that thousands of years ago people needed more of it becasue they ate plants. They needed it to detect toxins in the foo. But anyway, my only question is that in the way way future do you think we will ever not need spit. I only ask that becasue if we start eating things that are not plant based and they are more sugary and starchy then, we really won't need to much spit anymore.

In Pakistan Sri Linka's Cricket Team was ambushed by at least a dozen gunmen. They were attacked by grenades, rifles, and rocket launchers. Seven of the players, the coach, and umpire were injured. Six policemen and a driver were killed. They were gunned down 300 yards from the sports stadium. This ws the worst terrorist attack since the 1972 Munich Olympics. It is felt that the gunmen attacked the South Asias most popular sport because they knew it would give them international attention (which it did). The Pakistan prime minister said this "has humiliated their country." The attackers have not been captured and are thought to be Islamist militants linked to Al Qaida. These attackers probably will never be caught and they will have no remorse for the lives they have taken.

In China the leaders meet to talk about the Economic crisis. This was their biggest meeting of the year. There was a lot of talk about fixing the economy. "If the meetings are dull, then the party is firmly in control. If they are eventful, then their control might be seen as slipping," Oxford University China expert Steve Tsang said. This quote to my understanding means that if things go their way the economy will get back to how it used to be. The Chinese is now at a 10% unemployed rate.

Mr. Kay,

For my blog today, I am going to write about the horrible death of one of my friends, Josh Wiemer. On March 2, 2009, Josh died by suicide. He went home early from school and killed himself. His 8th grade brother had come home from school, to find him. Josh was a junior here at Lakeland. He played soccer, he was an all A B student and he had a girlfriend. There is no explanation to his death. My brother, David Papenhagen, was one of Josh's best friends, as well as Jessie Horne, Scott Rotman, James Caringi and many more. Josh's death has made many scar's in alot of peoples hearts. His family are the one's feeling most of the hurt, there oldest son is gone from there life. Please pray for Josh's family and friends as we all strugle through this really difficult time. Josh will live in our hearts forever, he will never be forgotten. May He Rest In Peace.

for my blog I'm going o do it on the construction unions. People like Cynita Davis stand in line and wait to hear her named called. She is not the only one there is another 177 in her area. The list of names chosen rarely exceeds half a dozen names. There are people who have been working for the same company for 15 years and are out of work now. At the moment she was making 16$ a hour and almost got a raise to 11$ a hour. Then the economy turned downhill and shes now in foreclosure on a home she inherited from her mother. She is hoping Obamas stimulus bill will get business going again. So she can get out of debt pay her bills and get out of foreclosure.

For my blog today i will be talking about the suspension of the denver nuggets; carmelo anthony. Carmelo was charged with a one game suspesion on sunday against indiana. The suspension resulted from a transgression. Reading the article they did not exactly elaborate on what he did. But i did read that his coach tried removing him from the game in the third quarter in which he refused to do. The vice president of the player personal was the one covering all of this after the game and states that carmello regrets and is sorry for his actions. And understands that being a role madel for many and the co-captain of thenuggets, his actions were not needed or neccesary.

For my current event i did it on the 13 year old boy who killed his 16 year old brother. Jordan and his seventh grade brother Mykel seemed to have gotton along real well. But once Mykel wanted to take over the family business, he killed his brother so he could. Once the father died, Jordan was in charge of the business. They say Jordan was found shot, stabbed 27 times, and dumped into a pit, where his body was torched. This took place in Cape Cod, just a few miles from Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port. Mykel, according to authorities, was jealous of how much money his brother was making, and wanted to replace him. Also apart of the crime was 13-year-old friend and a 20-year-old cousin, who are also charged for murder.

Today i will write about the economy. As we all know the economic stimulus bill was passed. Pres Obama guranateed millions of jobs to come from this. Today in the news 60 jobs were created from the stimulus plan. The bill was 787 million dollars and construction workers were going back to work today. The bill was mainly aimed at construction, housing, and education.Obama said another 200 construction projects would come up over the next few weeks. After reading about FDR in history Obamas plan sounds exactly the same. My only worry is that we are spending too much money we don't have.

How she went to a poor country and breastfeed another baby. Some people think that it is so bad that she did that. Well I think that she did a very good thing. If she can feed a starving baby the she should. If I were her then I would have done that too. I say good for her. She is doing her part to save the world. lolhttp://www.parentdish.com/2009/02/19/breastfeeding-how-long-is-too-long/

Today I am writing about the search for the missing NLF players on the Florida coast. After three days, the rescuers have ended the search for Corey Smith and Marquis Cooper. Over the weekend their boat capsized in the Florida coast. Nick Schuyler, 24, a former college player, was rescued yesterday and is recovering in a Tampa hospital after surviving 36 hours at sea. Still missing are Marquis Cooper, an Oakland Raiders linebacker, free-agent defensive lineman Corey Smith and former South Florida player William Bleakley. Schuyler told officials none of the men had life jackets on when the wave flipped them into the water, but all were able to retrieve one quickly after. All four men clung to the boat after the crash, but were separated at nightfall, leaving only Schulyer to be rescued. The coast guard is continuing the search because the health conditions of the men might have allowed them to survive. Survival experts say it is virtually impossible for them to survive under those conditions for so long. I think that this is a tragety, whether the victims are famous or not.

Mr. Kay
The search will end today at dusk for the 2 NFL players and a friend. The coast guard has been searching since Saturday for the fishing buddies to no avail. On Monday, they found Nick Schuyler, a survivor of the accident. Nick informed them on the location of the others, however, they drifted apart. Now after 3 days of searching they have to call off the search. I think the families will be hurt not to have closure in the family. Not knowing where they are or what happened must be one of the hardest thing to cope with. I found a lot of information on the news website on comcast. http://www.comcast.net/articles/sports-nfl/20090303/20090303163159485290204/

Mr. Hand,
My blog today is about same sex marriages. I guess in Massachusetts, the state government was sued because they never gave gay and lesbian couples benefits. They don't get legal benefits like health care and social security spousal protections. The Defense of Marriage Act gives rights strictly to opposite sex couples and there still aren't many states that allow gay marriages. To me this is really sort of annoying. This shows how people are still not accepted and people just don't want them to be married. Now, I'm not gay, it I would like to have the same rights as everyone else no matter what my sexual preferences were. I mean whats the big deal with gay marriage. If two guys or two women like each other enough to want to be legally together, why not. This is my belief on gay marriages and their rights.

As people may know this, a few NFL players were fishing in a boat in the Atlantic Ocean. Their boat capsized with all of them falling in. They have been searching for all of them. One player was fortunate enough to be holding onto to the boat and he was found. However the other players, including one Lion player, were not found. In this article it says they are going to stop searching for the others. I think this is the only decision they could make. They have been in the ocean for a couple days and by now I think that something terrible will have happened to them. This pertains to real life because even though the odds are stacked against them, there is still that outside chance that they are still alive. I don't think anybody should be given up on. They are still humans and just because of an unfortunate event they should not be forgotten about. I pray that these players are found.

As many of us know, President Obama has put a stimulus package into effect. This $787 billion plan is supposed to help support the economy and try to get it back on its feet. While is all sounds good, there are signs that the white house is being to optimistic. For example, small businesses are the backbone of our economy. 60% percent of the the jobs in this country come from small businesses. There is nothing in this plan for small businesses. Obama also plans to cut taxes for 90% of the people in America. Well, the toop 5% of wealthy people in the U.S. pay about 60% of the total income taxes. On top of that, he wants to let the Bush tax cuts expire in 2011, which will raise taxes for these people. Another thing is that Obama wants to curb corporate tax breaks. This includes the gas companies. So, indirectly, this will drive up gas prices becasue the gas companies will just pass the extra costs on to consumers.

This current event will be about a federal reserve chairmen defends plans for aggressive government spendings, bailouts. The chairmen told skeptical lawmakers Tuesday that government spending, bailouts are necessary to revive the economy. The chairmen said "the government's ability to stablize the finacial markets will play a big role in deterimimg the speed and strength of the economy recovery. Also, the chairmen thinks that "we are better off moving aggressively today to solve economic problems." Another thing would be is that the alternative could be a prolonged episode of economic stagnation. It would not contribute to further deterioration in a situation. I think the government shouldn't be bailing out businesses.

Jordan took over the family business-a major drug ring- after his dad was put in prison. Mykel was jealous of his money and power so decided to kill him. Mykels cousin,20, and another 13 year old were also charged with murder. Police say that Jordan was shot, stabbed 27 times, and then set on fire. Before he was killed, Mykel stole $10,000 cash from Jordan and bought a used BMW. What is the point of doing that, he's 13 and can't drive for 3 more years. This proves how drugs are becoming more of a problem in today's world.

As we continue to talk about events and economy status, we divulge into thoughts and opinions that can cause depression. Well, break out the chocolate-chip cookie dough and small puppies because here is another one.The coast guard decided to end their search for boaters.

" The search for Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper, NFL free agent Corey Smith and former college football player William Bleakley will be called off at sundown Tuesday, or around 6:30 p.m. ET.

A fourth man, Nick Schuyler, was found alive and sitting atop an overturned boat about 40 miles west of Florida's Gulf Coast on Monday afternoon.

"We're extremely confident that if there were any [other] survivors on the surface of the water that we would have found them," Coast Guard Capt. Timothy Close said at a news conference in Clearwater, Florida.

The four friends had embarked on a fishing trip in a 21-foot single-engine boat from the Seminole Boat Ramp near Clearwater Pass about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, the Coast Guard said.

The search was launched early Sunday after friends and relatives realized the men had not returned. "

They found a life-jacket and a cooler 16 miles from the boat. There was a inspiration to continue but at sundown they are calling it off.

right before Christmas, Los Angeles detectives found a crate outside a warehouse and opened it. inside they found something they had been searching for. they chased this 840-pound Brazilian emerald for months after it had been reported stolen. now they don't know who it belongs to. five people have came up and said that they owned it. people say the more talk there is more, the more people claim it. some people think they should just put it in a museum so everyone can share. i guess this is a good idea so everyone can admire it and there would be no more fighting over who;s it is.

http://news.aol.com/article/warrant-issued-chandra-levy-murder/353414

My blog is about the warrant issued for Chandra Levy. On Tuesday a warrant was issued for the arrest of a Salvadoran immigrant. His name is Ingmar Guandique. Ingmar killed Chandra on May 1, 2001. Chandra was 24 and had just finished an internship with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons when she disappeared. The break was a long-awaited development in an investigation that had gone cold for years after destroying the career of former U.S. Rep. Gary Condit of California. Condit was having an affair with Chandra. Although he was questioned, he was never a suspect of her death. Key to breaking the case appeared to be interviews with witnesses who claimed Guandique had bragged to them about killing and raping women, and in two cases, specifically acknowledged killing Levy. And when investigators searched his jail cell, they made another chilling find: a photograph of the young, dark-haired Levy ripped from a magazine.

In the article, "Obama overturns Bush endangered species rule", it tells how Obama turned over the last minute rule Bush made. Bush made this rule to make it easier for federal agencies to skip consulting with federal scientists. This would be at the expense of endangered species. With Bush's rule, the agencies wouldnt have to consult with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or the National Marine Fisheries Services when they are doing a project. I'm very glad Obama overturned this, because we do need to protect endangered wildlife. We are destroying our planet, so we should at least show it a little respect. I'm curious why Bush made this rule. My guess is it would cost less money. However, I do think that agencies should consult with specialists to make sure they are not doing anything wrong or harmful.

More than 60 hours of time has been put in for this rescue. Coast guard just recently called the search off saying that if anyone was left in the water, they would have been found. They did find a life vest 60 miles from the wrek. To bad they did not wear them. This seemed to be a bit important to me because anything can happen in life.

A girl was shot while waiting for her bus today is Detroit. Two men were walking down the other side of the street and open fired upon the girl and another student.
The students went back to the school, and a victim was transported to the hospital.

I find it ridiculous that men have the gull to wake up and say "lets kill some young girls today," and ACTUALLY DO IT. The world just dismisses the shootings in Detroit because it 'happens all the time'. I wouldn't be safe traveling to school if that 'happens all the time'. Then again, I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE AFRAID TO WALK TO MY BUS STOP.

My quote is about the football players missing after a fishing trip went wrong. The authorities believe a fishing boat carryed them and a fourth man overturned Saturday in the Gulf of Mexico. The Coast Guard search was called off at sundown Tuesday, about 6:30 p.m.
The fourth man, Nick Schuyler, was found alive and sitting atop the overturned boat about 40 miles west of Egmont Key, Florida, on Monday afternoon. Cooper's father and his friend, Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Terry "Tank" Johnson, praised the Coast Guard for its efforts, but said they would move forward with plans to organize their own search. Authorities launched a search for them early Sunday after friends and relatives realized the men had not returned. Close said authorities believe the boat capsized around 5 p.m. Saturday as the men were trying to lift the boat's anchor. The men were "not wearing life jackets at the time the boat capsized," he said earlier, but "immediately swam under the boat, recovered life jackets and managed to put them on."The weather was calm when the trip began, but it worsened late Saturday into Sunday, Close said. He said he believed they were aware of the forecast. Searchers scanned about 24,000 square miles of ocean in about 60 hours, Close said. Authorities found a life jacket and a cooler about 16 miles from where Schuyler and the boat were found Monday, Close said.

When the boat capsized authorities said the men were not wearing life jackets but they swam under the boat and retrieved some. Authorieties also say that if they had found any more survivors that they would have seen them. I think that the men could have done a better job of being more cautious and communicating. If I was them I would definitly have had my life jacket on and I would have kept better communication with people on shore.

If she was real about saying it was a emergency, then she needs help , think what someone like this could do with a gun.

This story is something very trajic. I think that it was just a snitch in life that could happen. More than likely there are successful fishing trips going on everywhere, and this one had to go wrong. I tihnk that the one person who was found must be very crushed, he stayed alone on the boat and watched the others drift away to death. I think that now after 72 hours, they should have been found already if they were alive. I read on another cite pertaining to this that in 64 degree water it takes 24 hours for you to go into hypothermia and then shock. I did some research and right now its about 55 degrees in the gulf. I think that this is something terrible for these families.

For this evening, I will be blogging about the missing boaters. The latest news has it that 2 professional football players, and another man were lost at sea. The names of the football players who are missing are Cory Smith and William Bleakly. Reporters have it that the fourth man was overturned in the Gulf of Mexico, and he was found alive. This man is named Nick Schuyler, he was found just sitting a top a overturned boat. Families are very worried about their family members, lost at sea. Nick reports that the other men were not wearing any safety jackets, when the wave came an tipped them over. Fortunately, all the men were able to grab hold of the boat. As the night fell, the men lost contact. The only one to be found was Nick Schuyler. The police officers and others are doing all that they can to find these men.

In the article, "Obama overrides Bush move on Endangered Species Act," by Jim Tankersley, (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-epa-speciesmar04,0,24501.story), I learned about how our new president is helping the environment. He issued a memorandum on tuesday saying that agencies had to exercise the consultation option in every instance before beginning construction. Bush had changed the rule last year so that companies could decide themselves whether or not they would be harming endangered species in construction. Now the Endangered Species Act is back to what it was originally intended for, protecting endangered species. I believe that this was a good move on Obama's part, because Bush's rule change to the Endangered Species Act seemed like it basically repealed the Act all together. Now, companies cannot build unless allowed to by professional environmental researchers. It will help save more of what is left of our wildlife and protect endangered species across the nation.

My internet isn't working. I'm on my phone right now and there is no way I can do a current event on this thing. I'll do it tomorrow (assuming my internet will work by then.)

For my free blog it is a little different event. What happened is a lady called 911 3 times over Mcnuggets at mcdonalds. They had run out and wouldn't give her a refund but offered her more food for the same price and she freaked out. I think that this is a dangerous thing because if she took a call from someone else who really needed help then it could of costed them thier life. Also, this person should feel like a complete fool because 911 is a very serious thing and you shouldn't call it for stupid things like that. I think there should be another thing like 911 but for stupid things like that and if serious then it wil go to 911. Last is i think she should have some sought of punishment because it isn't right to call 911 for reasons like that.

In the Sunday edition of the Detroit Free Press Mexico tasks America to stop gun smugglers. Mexico blames Americans for arming the worlds most powerful drug cartels. The president of Mexico said, “His police and solders are dangerously out gunned because U.S. authorities are failing to stop the smuggling of high-powered weapons into Mexico.” The Mexican President has complained for two years that the U.S. isn’t carrying its weight in the cross-border drug war.
The Brookings Institution estimated that 2,000 guns enter Mexico every day. In Mexico gun buys must be pre approved by the Mexican defense department. They are limited to light weapons, no higher that the standard .38-caliber. Larger calibers are considered military weapons and are off-limits to civilians The president of Mexico blames the U.S. because our laws are not as strict..
I think that this is complete bull. Okay it is easier to get a gun in the U.S. but to blame it on us. We do not have the money to cover every inch of the border to prevent smuggling. Any way it is time consuming to cheek every nook and cranny for a gun in each car that passes over the border.

The current event I'm going to write about is the crisis in Mexico. Juarez city in Mexico is infamous from the 1990's when hundred of womens murders wen unsolved. Juarez city is now engulfed in the worst drug violence Mexico has encountered. In the last year 2,000 people have been murdered there. I think this is a very important issue. The drug violence is so sever that even the police are hesitant or fearful to pursue their jobs. Public messages are being sent to police officers, ordering them to quit, or themselves of families will be killed. I think that something needs to happen there soon!

Mr. Hand..haha,

Today I am going to write about Manny Ramirez. I think that waht he is doing is an embarressment. Although he is one of my favorite players, he is not going about these contract negotiations the way that he should be. He has reportedly signed a 2year/$45 million deal with the Dodgers. I think that the way he kept denying the offer that LA put out for him was terrible. The economy owadays cannot afford big paychecks like they could before(unless your the yankees). Also, he is an older player that could get hurt at any time, so the injury chance is a concern. One thing that he could have done better is be a little more loyal to his team that he played for. Pro's nowadays have no loyalty to anybody, they only have loyalty to the dollar bill.

The current event I chose was the recent plane crash in San Diego. There was a plane that one of the engines wasn't working. The crew did nothing and chose to fly the plane 146 times before it just couldn't take it anymore. The crew in the plane wasn't communication well and didn't know the whole danger of what was happening. The ran out of fuel and tried to avoid things but ended up crashing into a house and killing 5 people. These people were Don Yoon's 2 month and 15 month daughters, his wife (36 years old), and his mother in law from Korea. Yoon does not blame the pilot but feels bad for him and encourages people to pray for him. He says he doesn't want him to suffer from the accident because he is a treasure to our country.

I am going to blog abou how a detroit church going man is accused of sexually assualting young boys. He was well trusted in the area and was never suspected of doing such things. He is facing 9 counts of criminal sexual conduct. Berguss Huster got away with this by telling the parents that he would take the kids to church. Eventually, the parents trusted him enough, and they let him babysit. Im sure Hester made bad decisions while we was babysitting too. This is very disturbing because he gained trust from parents and he turned around and did a crime. Parents need to be very careful who they let into their house. He was 36 years old.

On CNN.com i read about the football players who were lost at sea. On Saturday morning at about 6:30 am the 4 guys went out on a 21 inch 1 engine boat into the gulf of Mexico. Sunday morning the families contacted the coast guard and said how they never returned. On Monday they found one of the guys and the boat capsized. The coast guard said that he would conclude the search Tuesday at sundown. The families said that they will hire their own search pilots to continue looking for the 3 lost men. Personally, as sad as it is to say, i think that the hope of finding them is very low. Its not like they are in a fresh water lake with just fish, they were in a ocean where there are sharks and other creatures that could kill you. The 4 guys were warned about the forecast and that it probably wasn't a good idea to go out there on such a small boat, but they went anyways. I don't think that they did a good thinking job on that part but it still is a sad story to read about.

Today my blog will be about the NFL players who were lost at sea. On monday a former college player Nick Schuyler was found on an overturned boat off the shore of Egmont Key, Florida. The 21 foot boat was capsized by 10 to 14 foot waves. NIck was not alone however, Marquis Cooper,Corey Smith, William Bleakley were also on the boat but have gone missing. Marquis Cooper played for the Oakland Raiders and Corey Smith played with the lions but was a free agent William Bleakley was a former college football player. These three reportedly tried to swim to safety which was 40 miles away from land. The search by the coast guard was called off today monday the 3rd 2009. I think this situation in incredible. The stupidity of the other men on the boat amazes me. I feel bad for there friends family and teammates but if they would have followed the example of Brian and wore a life vest and stayed with the boat they would be home and safe.

Well today im gonna blog about soccer...not. I'm actually going to talk about steve Nash returning to the phoenix suns after injury. The basis of this blog is how so many NBA players have season ending injuries and it sucks because i watch the NBA to see the great players. I think that NBA trainers need to do a better job at making sure their dynasty players saty all right for all season, every season. Of course players are going to jam fingers and tweak ankles but they could really step up in the physical thearapy to help restore their strength. A big injury this year has been torn ACL's. This is very serious because a knee injury could be career ending. Michael Redd, one of my favorite players from the Milwauki Bucks is out all season with this injury. It's scary because my mom tore her ACL and she wasn't able to compete in sports again. I just think players should start takng more care of themselves and stop doing things that hurt their bodies.

Why Skilled Immigrants Are Leaving the U.S.

Just as the title of this article is telling, these days, for reasons such as economic recession, many immigrants are leaving this country. Interesting things from this news, and, are that they can leave whenever they want, since the situations have changed; they are not immigrant workers who are in dillema, and they are no longer simple-factory workers but well-educated, young workers, who the companies really need. Despite of the fact that those useful people are leaving America, people are not as much aware of it as they're supposed to because of the economic depression, which requires less number of workers. And it may be fine now. But what about 10 or 20 years later, when America gets out of depression, hopefully, and tries to boost up the economic development? Circumstance of this world in these days is very different from how it was at the era of 1930s', which even after the economic depression thanks for world war 2 America could get up again. There're bunch of countries that are trying to challenge and pop up as an internationally high-estimated country.
I'm not sure how this fact of foreign employees' leave will affect about this economy, whatsoever things go around, my only wish is this economic depression not to be resolved for another war.

a man named Lewis Pugh decided to under go the daugnting task of swiming in the artic waters with nothing but goggles, speedo, and a swimming cap. many would call this suicidal but Lewis just calls it a challenge. Lewis is now 39 years old and quit his 6 year practice of being a lawyer to become a full time envoirnmentalist. Pughs swimming coach said he is able to raise his body temperature by will power alone. in the freezing waters a normal person could not even swim 20 meters becuse of hyperventalation. the technique Lewis has developed is called "anticipatory thermogenesis". he has once he hits the water it is a mental battle from then on.

today, i am speaking to you about my feelings for Mr. Joshua Weimer. It is a truly difficult thing for everyone to grasp on, and even for me, who did not know him at all; well, it puts a big feeling of insecurity on my shoulders. The biggest part for me, as i have discussed with a friend, is trying to grasp the fact that we can not ever gain any knowledge from him, ever again. the hardest thing i know i have been trough is when my grandparents had died, and the biggest regret is that i never really ever asked them the questions that mattered. the ones like what was your childhood like? what did it feel like growing up? or even How did you get that bruise? all of those questions have so much story behind them, wether we know it or not. and for those who were very close to josh, they will never get to ask them. they will never get to know. and i am sad for those people who are looking for answers from him. i know a lot of people are, and i know that there is a lot of people out there who will always be hoping that they will find the answers. i still try to find those answers in my relatives.

Rest In Piece Mr. Joshua Weimer. May you be remenbered by everyone.

And Although you may not have physical immortality, you will have immortality in those who knew you, and those who loved you. You Will be greatly missed.
