Today we shall free blog. The point of the free blog is to write on any topic you wish but have it be meaningful and an insight into you. If I sense that you are not being meaningful and just rushing, I reserve the right to not give you credit.
There is a new website called formspring. It is a website where you can anonymously leave comments or questions to people. I do not have one myself but as i read others i notice that nobody ever has anything nice to say to people. Most of the comments i have read are most likely from people you either dont talk to, dont know, or its just your friends playing a practical joke. I do not think this website is good because some of the comments people leave can really hurt a persons feelings. Even if people are playing practical jokes someone could take it seriously. I think someone is going to lead to something really bad one day. It just shows that if you have nothing nice to say then dont say it at all. I think in the future when something bad will probably happen people will notice this more.
I have recently started to fill out an application to work at the White Lake Twp Library. Right now there aren't any open spots for a job, but when there is one I'll be getting a call for an interview. I may even go to a few other places and see if they're hiring at the moment. For me any place will do, and as long as I get a decent wage. Many people my age probably wouldn't go for any job, some of them would go for the best jobs out there. If I had to choose between three places to apply for a job I would choose the library, McDonald's, and the Waterford movie theater. If I don't get a job at any of those places then I will try and apply at other places, but I am determined to get a job at some point while I'm in high school.
About a month ago their was a protest that some college students were having to legally carry guns with them on campus. I think that is a terrible idea, becasue the Virgina Tech situation could happen all over again. Wouldn't it be suspicious that a student wanted to be able to carry a gun with him to go to classes, who needs a gun to go to class. Also the time that you have to get to your other classes/ the time your on campus not in class, there really isnt any need to have a gun. i can understand to feel safer yeah, but i would feel less safe knowing that almost everyone had a gun on them. You never know if someone could snap and do what the guy did at Virgina Tech. If it used for self defense i dont think that will come to needing a gun, so why does someone feel like they need to have a gun with them, and there were alot of people supporting this. If this did happen, how woudl you feel walking arounding knowing that someone had a gun on them? I could understand to be able to carry one around at night and off campus but not on campus. Plus colleges have it were cops escort you to your dorm at night, so you have protection. why do you need a gun? when i hurd that, that just felt wrong to me.
Jane Matta Every year, my mom, my friend, and I all volunteer at this place called Gleaner's. It is a food place where we pack and distribute food. It's a lot of fun! Last year, we sorted cans and other products to be put into food baskets, which are then given out to kids who don't have food. It is not only a fun time, but its great that we are helping out. It makes me really sad to know that there are a lot of hungry people out there and just this little act of helping out can make a difference. I can't wait to work there again next year.
For a free blog i will do a current event. The oil spill in the gulf has been a very messy one, it is polluting our sees and the company is even putting more chemicals in to the water. this is how the world will end in my opinion by man himself, all the time we try to save the earth more are destroying it. these chemicals will more then likely kill more fish then the oil spill. this obviously effects the world by killing fish an destroying our vital Ecosystem. spills like this destroy many thing an help to extinct fish and other exotic animals. this was my free blog for today and how corporate America should not drill the oceans when we have many land sources available. "http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_gulf_oil_spill;_ylt=AiWRiFpIKPkvOLN98gLI0vWs0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTNpN3Z2ZHNhBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMTAwNTEwL3VzX2d1bGZfb2lsX3NwaWxsBGNjb2RlA21vc3Rwb3B1bGFyBGNwb3MDMwRwb3MDMTAEcHQDaG9tZV9jb2tlBHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcnkEc2xrA29pbHNwaWxsY29udA--"
Lately, I have been applying to a lot of golf courses trying to get a job for the summer. Right now I work at a few soccer fields reffing but I want a more steady income. The pay is really good with reffing but its just hard to get enough games. I think working at a golf course would be pretty sweet and easy so I hope some of these places will call me back. Also you probably get to golf for free so that is one less thing I have to spend money on.
I can not wait till this weekend! I get to see my friend that lives in Southgate! She is coming up to Howell so that we can go see a concert. The people that are having the concert is the way my friend Amber and I met. so this concert is special because it is the same people that brought us together as friends. So I'm super excited!!!! Amber and i are alike in so many ways. We both love the same bands, authors, stars and everything. I can not wait till Saturday because we are going to get there early and chill. Plus also we are getting back stage passes. I can not wait to meet the band. AGAIN!!!!
I have been so busy lately! I'm still working eighteen hours a week and usually their 8 or 9 hour days on the weekends. I miss my weekends so much. I really do. I just feel like I never get me time anymore. I have 5 days of school, i work at least 8 hours on both saturday and sunday then the school week again, I get stressed out very, very easily so that's never good. The smallest things are getting to me and it really sucks. I can not wait unitl summer so at least school will be one less thing I have to worry about. I'll be working a lot more but then i can really focus on it and not flip about grades all the time. I don't think I've ever wanted summer so badly in my entire life!
Just a few days ago we got our summer volleyball schedule for open gyms and workouts. It hasn't even started yet and I'm already stressed out about it. We have 2-a-days for most of it and we get 2 dead periods off. I just remember how bruital it was last year and I'm dreading another summer with it. It's too much to even have fun with my summer or even to have fun with volleyball. Plus if I ride the bench again this year I'll be mad because of all the hard work and money I put into the sport. I hope all the practices will pay off this year because I really want to play and not waste my summer again.
Today I've just been thinking about people. I guess just why the way we act the way we do. For example, have you ever just wondered why some people are completely obnoxious? Or why some people are super quiet? Or maybe why they are complete jerks? I don't have the answer to this question, it's just been weighing on my mind. Has it got to do with something in their home life? Or maybe their friends? It just doesn't make sense to me why some people act the way they do. I mean if some one is obnoxious, they're probably just trying to get attention. Just some other people are just the way they are for no APPARENT reason. Maybe people should take into consideration others before they act the way they do.
Today, I had a double header baseball game. We played the rivals Milford. We won the first game in comeback fashion, 8-7. We were losing 6-3 in the 6th inning. In the second game the tides turned. We lost in a comeback by Milford. we lost that game 8-7. I was disappointed in the second game. I thought we were the better team, but we didn't take the opportunity to crush them.
lately there has been a flood in tennesse. This effects me very much because I have family that lives there. My grandma and grandpa couldn't get out of their house because the water was all the way up to the door. My aunt on the other hand lost her cable and internet. When she finally got her internet back she posted multiple pictures on the storm on facebook. More people need to realize what happened and to help contribute. I hope everyone ends up alright and that everything can be fixed.
If there is one thing in this world that I appreciate, it is having a good time. Really thats all i want to do in life. success is extremely important, good grades, and all that good stuff is important too. But just think about it. What does all of that matter unless your enjoying yourself? You only get one chance at life and if your not livin' it up to the fullest then there is something wrong. Anything you may do can be dont in an enjoyable way. Just always keeping a smile on your face, and having a positibe attutude will get you far. All i want in this life is to be happy. So far, its not so bad:)
I need a break. Lately i have been so stressed. One big thing is school. I am trying to get good grades but its been hard lately. I haven't been able to focus and there has been big projects due in my classes. On top of school i have sports. Sports stress me out because this year i have made varsity, but i don't play a lot. Its frustrating because i like to play, and not being able to is torture. I don't know what i can do to play more either. Also softball has caused me to miss a lot of volleyball tournaments. In volleyball i only go to practices and that is when i get frustrated. My team doesn't try that hard and it drives me crazy. My coach is a little bit annoying too. I really need summer to come faster because i need a break from everything.
Lakeland j.v baseball played our rivals today, the Milford Mavericks. As we have a similar record, we ended up splitting a double header with them. I was pleased with our perserverence in the first game but we lost some swagger in the second and it came down to a walk off run in the last inning. I am very satisfied with how we are playing and learning and growing as ball players, myself especially. I also love that our coaches not only teach us about the sport, but about life lessons and being young men as well. As long as we can step up to the plate and be the young men we are taught, these last few weeks of season we have left should be quite accomplishable and enjoyable. I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience I am having this year.
I have recently been trying to apply for jobs so that I could get a Car when I turn sixteen. But there is just one problem, Most Jobs now need for a worker to have a car so that they would have more flexible hours and be more reliable when they wanted them to work. So instead of getting A job I think that I will have to earn money the old fashion way. By doing odd jobs to earn my way to getting a car. Then once I have a car I could finally get a real Job and earn more money then I would doing random jobs hoping to get enough money for a car. So I will have to go around to people in my neighborhood and ask them if they want to have their lawn mowed and what not. There should be an easier way to earn money.
lately i have been just chilling and not doing much. I have a job lined up in the summer making really good money. Probibly 10-15 and hour. Working 6-8 hours a day and makeing 300-400 a week. Gunna buy me a car and do what i want. Other then that im not really doing much. GEtting better at lit class now, kinda easier. Now im going to go play basketball, bye.
On an over all basis I think that society is flawed in many different ways. I believe that its flawed all the way down to the school system. No, unlike many kids im not going to say that its flawed because we get homework, I think that the problem is we don’t succeed for being smart, we succeed for skill at BS. We don’t get a grade on actual intelligence, instead we get a grade on weather or not we put down a few random words on a piece of paper that the teachers not going to look at but give you an A for anyway. I think that because of this system more people that are good at cheating and BSing will move on rather then people that are acutely intelligent. This spells a problem for not only the smart people being held from there potential but also the companies hiring dumb people that had a nice GPA in highschool.
