Today I would like you to briefly discuss the concepts that were presented in your proposals. Tell me everything that you know about your chosen individual. Based on your research, how are they social activists? Why are they influential? What is the information that you have learned about them, which you will be using in your speech? Also, tell me which form of visual aid you plan on using, and what types of things you may include.
For those of you that did not turn in your proposals today, be sure to have them Tuesday! Also, I would like you to think about the layout of your speech. Put together a brief outline of the key components of your speech that you plan on including. Remember, you must have an intro, body(with specific details), and conclusion. Mr. Kay will be looking these over when you return from the weekend to be sure that you are on the right track.
Finally, I just wanted to say thanks for being such a wonderful class, and such wonderful individuals. I have learned something new from each and every one of you every day. Waking up and hanging out with you guys everyday is by far the best job in the entire world, and I am truly going to miss you all! Take care of yourselves, keep up the good work, and have a great summer! :)

My Speech is about Bill Clinton. I know that he was President of the United States from 1993 until 2001. I also that he was Governor of Arkansas from 1979 until 1981. He was also the Arkansas Attorney General from 1977 until 1979. I believe that he is influential because since he was the president for two terms, he knows what the country needs in order for it to strive. He has also started the William J. Clinton Foundation. The W.J.C.F. promotes and addresses international causes such as treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS and global warming. Someone had even attempted, and FAILED!!!, to assassinate him. I don't know what visual aid I will be using yet. I hope to have some by the time I have to do my speech.

My speech is about Taylor Swift. She is a very popular singer. She is a social activist because she has followed her dream. She is influential because she never gave up. She is one in a million and has tried very hard to become a singer. Taylor Swift has had a lot of practice and never stoped working hard. She is a very good person and doesn't do really bad things. She is a good role model to all the people who want to become artists one day. Usually artists get wraped up withsome thing really bad and their carrer is ruined.
My speech is about Sandra Bullock. I chose her as my social activist because she is very generous financially and physically. Financially, she has donated millions to organizations such as Red Cross and physically she has passed out food, clothing, and other essentials at homeless and disaster shelters. As one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood, Bullock is obviously extrememly wealthy and I really love how instead of going to buy a new car or another vacation house with her money, like other celebrities tend to do, she sends it to the less fortunate. The group she tends to send a lot of money to are people who have been in natural disasters. She has sent millions to the people of hurricane Katrina, the tsunami that struck Thailand, the earthquake in Haiti, and more. She even donated after 9/11 and helped rescue people from ground zero.
I am doing my speech on Paul Krugman. He is a very fluential man and is looked up to by many people. They are a social activist because he informs people about the economy through the books that he writes. They are influential because he has a lot of knoledge and is a very strong speaker. I am going to include facts like how many books and articles he has written, what he thinks should change about the economy, and other things like that. I am going to use a poster or a power point for my visual aid and I am going to include things like pictures and facts that the viewers can read. This is the layout of my speech on Paul Krugman.
I always liked Ashton Kutcher as an actor which made me want to learn more about him once i saw him on the top 100 list. he is a social activist because he uses his fame to spread positive messages and established a foundation with his wife to eliminate child sex slavery. he doesn't use his fame to get more famous, he uses it to be a positive influence on people and to get them involved. i learned that he started off going to school for biochemical engineering but then won a modeling contest and pursued acting also. i think a visual aid i plan on using would be maybe pictures from his foundation and him helping in the community.

Robert Pattinson is known as one of this generation hottest actors. Robert Pattinson first started modeling when he was twelve years old. He then moved up to acting, where he landed a role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he played Cedric Diggory. He has been in a lot of movies since then. In these movies he plays different characters that have different personalities and feelings. In 2008 he landed a leading role that would change his life as he knew it forever. He is now currently playing the role of Edward Cullen in the hit book series the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer.
I chose Robert Pattinson because he influences people all around him. First, I chose him because he was in my favorite movie series Harry Potter. Then I chose him because I am a HUGE Twilight fan. Robert Pattinson is the person that actually got me hooked on Twilight. I did not read the books until I saw a trailer for Twilight. I then borrowed the Twilight Saga from my friends and started reading. I just fell in love with Edward Cullen and as time grew on I fell in love with the actor portraying him. I heard that he was named one of Time’s top 100 influential people in the world on Oprah. Then I heard we had to do a report on a person that influences the world and I knew I had to pick him.
Robert Pattinson is an influential person. He is a role model for a lot of people. However, the girls all listen to what he has to say about a fad that is going on or what he does. He could say that he likes to read and study history and all the girls and some guys would go and study history. He has that much of an impact on the world. When Robert Pattinson gets involved with the community and everything the people that are really huge fans are going to support him and go out there and do the same thing that he is doing. When he gives back to the world, the people of the world do the same thing. Robert Pattinson is a leader, not a follower. He is a role model for us all.
Al gore can be spoken of in both good and bad ways. i have to speak of the positive think that he has done even tho i think he is a fraud. Al Gore is a social activist mainly because he has an objective and even tho he has been being sued over it he never gave up. he can be influential to many people because he is trying to help our home planet and people do agree that a healthier planet is better for us. what i plan to talk about Al gore is how he has done many lectures and what he has accomplished by doing them. also i plan to speak on how he traveled to different countries and helped pass laws there. this is what i plan to say about Al Gore and what he is about.
The social activist i choose was Stella McCartney. Her name isnt widely known but i am sure you have seen her work before. She shows her support towards the values of the PETA organization by not allowing any fur or leather in her clothing lines. Her effort in standing up for what she believes prooves her to be a social activist. Throughout her life she has worked with companies such as adidas, target, chloe, and various other large names in the fashion industry. Ontop of all of these accomplishments Stella is also a mother and wife. She provides an influential example for everyone through her hardwork and determination. I plan on using a poster as my visual aid and on there i can show examples of her work and her committment to PETA.
My speech is about Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods is an activist because, before the recent allegations, he was a role model to all athletes. He was truthful and he never bragged. After the allegations he is an example of what not to do. I will be using how many titles he has in my speech. I am also planning on using the information about his past and the values you can learn from him. I am planning on bringing in a poster on tiger woods. This poster will include his accomplishments and what has donated to.
my activist is george clooney.i kno george clooney is influencial by how he has out standing procedures provide physical aid and mentally have hope for places he wishes to help such as haiti and darfur. the help for haiti now is about how he started a telethon to help the people who are less fortunate and need the help to survive in haiti, like rebuild the economy and other nations there. then wiht the save darfur ralley clooney had visited the place of darfur sudan because he herd of the genocide occuring there sohe wanted to make a difference so he asked the general protection unit to go and help the haiti people.
