For tonight's blog, I want you to go to Weebly.com (if you haven't already), and get signed up for your website. Just follow the simple steps, it should only take a few minutes. Once you've signed up, I want you to browse around the site and check out the layouts, design, settings, etc. Think about what you could use, and brainstorm any ideas you might want to use for your own site.
Once you've done this, I want you to tell me what you like and dislike about this site? What are its benefits? Drawbacks? How might you use this application in other classes? How might you use it in your own life? How effective do you think this type of project is for students? What other types of projects similar to this do you think would be interesting or enjoyable?

I am not a super techy person so the goo thing bout this site is that it looks like it will be easy to use. The bad thing is that I am still not good with compiters so I might have some trouble. I think my partner is good with computers though. The benefits are that it seems like you have a lot of choices and are free to male it look the way you want it. A drawback would be it might not have exacty what you want like what you would get with a more professional complicated program. I could use this or any of my other classes if there was certain information I thought was really importantor interesting and wanted other people to know about it. This could also be very helpful in my own life. I care a lot about animal and if I were serious about it, I could use this website to make people aware of animal cruelty. I think this could be an affective project and make people realize there are a lot of serious problems out there. I guess another good project like this we could do would be maybe interviewing people on there knowledge of this social injustice and their view on it.

I'm not a very computer friendly person and this site is definitely not dummy proof. It's somewhat confusing and jumbled. I feel like I'm going to have a hard time making my site. It's really hard to find out how to edit your site, and it's hard to just poke around. I could use this application for other classes by just making sites for different subjects. The only drawback to weebly is that it's hard to understand how to figure everything out. I think that the website will be beneficial to other people because if people accidentally stumble upon it they will be informed and might do something about it.
Even though I am new at using Weeby, it should be easy to use. I don't really see any drawbacks to the site. I like this this site because it has very many different ways in which you can customize your website. Also I like it because you can put your own things into it. I dislike it because when you drag an item into the work spot you cant really pick the size.
I dislike how many different things there are that you can click on too. The last thing I dislike is that it is very crazy. One benifit is that it is a free website makeing spot. A drawback is that it has games on it so people could easily get destracted like I did when exploreing it right now. I don't think i will ever use this in my life, except for when I'm doing this project. I think that this is a little affective because it gets use to look up information on things that are gonig wrong and to be selfaware with them. I think that if we made games on the computer or animation videos it would be fun and interesting.
I mostly like this sight. It is kind of confusing at first. It seems like a cool way to make a web page. I like that there are a lot of layouts you can choose from. The only reason i don't like it is that it is going to be hard for me to figure out. Wojo will need to help me out when were making it. I don't think i would use Weebly in other classes. In my life i don't think i would use it either. I would never want to make a website. I think this type of project helps students. It has them be aware of problems in the community. Also, it shows them how to make a website. I think making a movie or play with the whole class about problems in the community would be fun.
A good thing about this web site is that it LOOKS easy to use. But i think that it could be complicated once you start to use it. I dislike that some things are hard to work. I might use this application in other classes like for free projects. I could create a website about the project that we are working on or the topic of the work we are working on. i could use in my own life like to promote a sport or team. i could also create a website for a really good band that I want people to know about.This is effective type of project for students.
The thing i like about this website is that its pretty easy to use. There are some confusing things though that might be some trouble. The benefits is that there are a lot of choices to make so you have a lot of design for your website. The drawbacks are that it doesn't exactly look like a professional website. I could use this application in other classes to do more research about a topic. We could use it for other projects. I could use this in my real life to go find some information about things i want to learn about. Since everyone reasearched a topic, i could learn about the one they researched. I think this project is pretty effective because they learn a lot about what their researching. They also get to learn how to use this website for future references. Another project that would be interesting would be a questionnaire so you could learn about different things.
The main thing I like about the site is that it looks really easy to use. There are a lot of good tools that will be helpful in making a good webpage. One thing I didn't really like about it though were all of the different layout things at the top were kind of confusing. I think this project will be helpful to students because they will be thinking about how they can help out in the world and get something they think is important to happen. I think this website could be used in a bunch of different projects in virtually every class and it should be a good one to do.
This site seems very easy to use and could really come in handy for me in the future. A pro about weebly.com is its easily accesible and really interchangable so nothings ever set in stone. A con about this site is it kinda takes a little to load when you change things a lot. Im not sure if ill ever have the chance to use this site in other classes, but maybe when im older if im in a business or want to make something open to the internet i can refer to weebly.com. This project is extremely effective for students, because it is easy to read and takes you on a step by step process to publish a website. Other group projects that allow you to pick something that interests you and a partner would be enjoyable too. So far this social activist project has been pretty fun.
I like how this site is an easy to use free website building site. the easy thing to use is to actually make your site since they already give you a template to edit. the negatives about this site is that they don't give you many options to customize. i think that this project is very effective for students because it blends school and what kids do the most, computers. i could use this later in life when i want to sell or promote something. this would also be good for a history project because you could focus the site on a historical figure. this is what i thought about the new project.
For this site, I really like how the format is and it's easy to find what I want to work on. I disklike how many buttons there are and it seems like there are a lot of different steps to making a website. In other classes such as BMT I might use this to create a website on how to use a Microsoft program. In Spanish I could use it to inform people how to conjugate verbs correctly. This type of project is effective for students because it makes us more aware of the stuff around us. I'm a busy kid and so I don't get to watch the news that much but with these websites I can see local problems around us. Altogether I think that this is a great project.
I like this site because they have everything you need to get a decent webpage together. I really don't like how it doesn't explain how you can do other things such as bold font and other things. One benefit of this site would be you can get your webpage running quickly. One of the drawbacks would be the quality of it. You could use this in other classes a lot, like in science you could create a webpage about a certain element. I think this kind of project helps students realize how big some of the problems are. Another project like this would be to create activities teens could do to stay off the streets and out of harms way.
I really like that you have the option to be creative on weebly. I also like how many options it gives you for backgrounds and stuff. It also seems pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. One of my biggest dislikes is that it isn't very professional looking. Its more creative and fun which is good to but the backgrounds tend to focus on that. We could definitely go back to weebly for other classes and projects in the future so I'm glad we were introduced to it. This is a pretty good website we could use on our own if we really wanted to make sure awareness was spread about something we are passionate about. This site could relate to ANY project we do in school and its a great introduction site!
I like this site because it makes a website easy to build and involves little to no coding. I don't like that there are only a small amount of things you could edit in. I think that there should be more themes and styles for the website. Some of the benefits would be that you don't have to code anything which saves a lot of time that could be used working on the actual project. I think this might be used in the web design class taught by Mrs. Schmitt. I don't think I would use this website in my own life other then in this class. I think other project ideas would consist of a podcast or something that doesn't involve writing.
this site is alright. its not to hard to use. it also looks nice. but its pretty concrete as far as looks. u cant make it wat truly want because the background is set. i could use this to make a site in other classes by making it on a different topic. i wouldint use it in my own life but if i realy wanted to get something out there i might. its about as good as any other project of this sort, we learn from are research.
Ithink that this iste is very user friendly and i really like it. I like that it has tabs to keep everything organized and is very easy to use, sometimes is does shut down randomly though. Some benifits are that you can get a point across to large amount of people. Some drawbacks are it is very hard to finish something without the webite deleting some of it. I dont see myself using this in other classes but I could use it in my own life to make people aware of something important. I think this project is very effective because it gets kids thinking and gets them involved in the community. I think you could do something like this but then actually take action outside of school in the thing that they are doing the website on. This is a very good website and has helped me a lot.
I dislike the overall format of how the site looks when published. One of the drawbacks is it just doesn’t have as many features as other maker your own sight sights. Id rather not use Weebly in other classes, and if I did it would be because I was told to. I definitely wouldn’t use it in my own life, I’d use webs if I ever had to make a website in my own life. I think that depending on the project and on the student the effectiveness majority varies. If we had acutely been told a specific thing to make our websites about it would have been a lot easier.
