Day 15

For this evenings blog, I want you to pick one of the themes discussed in the Animal Farm. If you are not sure what they are then do some research and I am sure you will find them. Then, I want you to find a song that you think fits that theme and explain how the song and the theme work together. Make sure you mention the song and the sing or song writer when discussing this. If you want to post a video or youtube url feel free.

I think freedom is a good theme that is established in the book. Most of the animals want to be free from Mr. Jones so they can run the farm themselves. The animals want to live their own lives without being controlled by someone else. However, in the end, all of the animals are being controlled. The song that I think corresponds with the theme of freedom is "Rock and Roll All Night" by Kiss. The song is all about partying and being free from any control whatsoever. Kiss made this song representing partying everyday and never stopping. This is what I think the animals wanted at first when they rebelled. They were singing and in a loud uproar sounding like a huge party was taking place in the animal world. The theme presents itself throughout the entire song and shows in the book at the beginning, along with many other books too.

One of the main themes of Animal Farm is Inequality. In Napoleon's leadership, many of the animals were treated unequal to one another. At first, the main goal of animal farm was to have equality among all the animals. Once Napoleon came into power, that began to change. Soon Napoleon was given rights that the other animals could not have. Napoleon did not work, he had more rations, and he began to change the rules to fit what he wanted. A song that fits the theme of Inequality is the song Imagine by John Lennon. This song is all about people imagining what it would be like if everyone got along and were equal. One quote goes to say, "Imagine all the people, Living life in peace." This is exactly what the animals on animal farm wished to see, but did not accomplish it the whole time.

I think a theme that was discussed in Animal Farm is individualism. I think this because alot of the animals had their own opinions. A song that fits individualism is called "Second Chance". The song and the theme work together because the individualism means being yourself. The song "second chance" which is by Shinedown is saying be yourself. Also, it is saying don't let nothing stand in your way because you are your own person. Thats how individualism and the song "second chance" work together.

Mr. Kay,

The theme that I have picked from Animal Farm is the theme unfairness. The song that I have picked, that I think goes with this theme is "Its Not Supposed To Go Like That" by Rascal Flatts. In the beginning of the song, it talks about a little boy who gets shot, and how it was the beginning of his innocent life. That part, I believe, goes along with how the lamb got shot at the beginning of the battle. In the next part of the song, it talks about how two teens, a boy and a girl, where in a car driving. They were a young couple, and they didn't see the lights flashing of the train coming on. It then says, "Now there's a reason to small crosses lie on the side of the road. A sign of a young love that will never grow.", which reminds me of when Boxer was put into the truck, and the way Mollie ran after it. (And to be totally honest, this is the song I listened to when Josh died. It fit so perfectly, and it seemed as if it were made for him.) I think that this song does go / fit very well with the theme.

I thinik that the book animal farm has alot to do with being inividual and free. They create songs about freedom and express it a lot. they want freedom and try to get it. In the song "you got to fight for your right to party" by the Beastie boys. This is a song about guys who just want to party. They don't want to listen to their parents and they are rebelling against them. They want to live free and and live by thier rules. This is a bit like annimal farm how they decided to take over and have their own rules. The are free and happt to do what they want to.

One of the themes in Animal Farm is the inablilty to change what has happened. I think the song, "DOA" by the Foo Fighters displays this theme very well. It might not be a very easily seen connection, but it definately relates. In the song, it says,

"Oh you know I did it. It's over and I feel fine. Nothing you could say is gonna change my mind. Waiting and I wait at the longest night. Nothing like the taste to sweet decline. I was down, I fell, I fell so fast. Dropping like the grains in an hourglass. Never say forever cause nothing lasts. Dancing with the thorns of my buried past. Nevermind there's nothing I can do. Bet your life there's something killing you. It's a shame we have to die my dear. No ones getting out of here, alive..This time."

I could imagine the animals singing this part of the song, because this is the exact situation they are in. They are going down, and there's nothing they can do about it. Napoleon is intimidating them, so if they try to rebel, they will be killed. Also, there is no way they can get out of this situation, and many of them are not even aware of the mistakes that they made. It is a very cleverly written song, and it is a great example of this theme.

A good theme for animal farm would be rebellion. The whole book is revolved around rebellion. In the beggining, Old Major clearly shows this by telling the other animals about revolting against the humans. The whole idea of being free from humans started and ended with being rebellious. We also learn of how jones tries to take back the farm, although the animals want to fight for what they won. A song that displays rebellion would be Animals by NickelBack. The first part of the song really shows a rebellious act between two characters, "I, I'm driving black on black
Just got my license back
I got this feeling in my veins this train is coming off the track
I'll ask polite if the devil needs a ride
Because the angel on my right ain't hanging out with me tonight
I'm driving past your house while you were sneaking out
I got the car door opened up so you can jump in on the run
Your mom don't know that you were missing
She'd be pissed if she could see the parts of you that I've been kissing."

Mr.Kay,
One of the themes i found in Anmial Farm was independence. Independence is a really broad topic, but i think the animals were trying to seek independence from the humans. The animals are sick and teird of being slaves to Mr.Jones, and they want a life where they can live long and happy. A song that i think fits this is actually a classical peice called Liberty Fanfare. We are playing this in band right now too. but anyway, this song is about independence. I guess it was played at the statue of Libertys 100th birthday. So, as far a independence i think this song fits the feeling of being free and becoming their own country.

A theme i found that was really dominant in the book was individualism. most us the animals do not want to be with Jones on the farm any more. So the animals got rid of Mr. Jones and then they started there own individual thing on the farm. i song i found is from AC/DC Born to be Wild. I think this song represents individualism because it talks about how they dont follow what everyone is telling them what to do. They are just letting lose and moving on from the things that hold them back in life. Also that they really dont have anyone that is telling them what to do all the time. The take life as it comes i feel. They are living day by day.

The theme that i have chosen is freedom. This is an important aspect of The Animal Farm. The animals wanted their freedom against Mr. Jones. To do this they rebelled and didnt give up, until they were free. The animals were showing a great deal of leadership, and social activism. They knew they didnt want Mr. Jones to be their leader, and were willing to speak out and rebel against it. The song that i have chosen is "I Wont Back Down" by Tom Petty. This song is pretty much straight forward, but what he is saying in the song is to never give up on your dreams, and never back down. The animals never backed down on their dream of freedom.

To speak up amd do what's right. This is definately a good theme that is established in this story. All the animals wanted freedom and they got it, but after a while things started to go back to the way they use to be. The difference, though, was that things were worse this time. The animals got less food and they knew it too, they just couldn't say anything. Or when some of the animals were mistreated, nobody tried to stop it. "Say" by John Mayer connects with this theme perfectly. At one point in the song it says "It's better to say too much, than never to say what you need to say.." which is what the animals should've done instead of letting everything go to hell by saying nothing.

here's the song if you wish to listen to it Mr. Kay:

the theme i chose from animal farm is using a scapegoat. Napoleon on numerous accounts used snowball as a scapegoat. whenever things went wrong Napoleon would claim it was Snowball conspiring against them. The song i chose that relates to this theme is "Blame it" by Jamie Foxx. In this song a girl is trying to use alcohol as her scapegoat to not feel guilty about being a slut. Like the girl wanting to blame things on alcohol, Napoleon blamed things on Snowball. Because of that both of these people think what there doing isnt wrong and that it is ok.

I think that a main theme is freedom. A good portion of the animals rebelled for their own freedom. However, that is ironic because of the factor that Napolean ends up controlling all of them. Well i thin that a great song is "freedom" by Akon. I am not just saying that becasue of the title. I think that because he is singing about trying to get his freedom and thats the whole pont of the song. Plus, he sings about all the things he is going through to get that freedom like the animas had to do to try and get theirs.

Mr. Kay,
I feel that there are many themes in Animal Farm (Don't Bite the Hand That Feeds, Corruption), but I think it all really comes down to unfairness in class. Even at the beginning the pigs seemed more powerful than every other animal. I got more privileges, they got away with more things, while the other animals just worked. We can also see this even when they are trying to be fair. We see that the pigs are the only animal that get to try out for the election. It might not be on purpose, but sometimes I feel that the pigs were sort of giving undertones of superiority. But finally when they got into power, they just used that superiority in class and made the farm their own. None the less, the animals outside of the privileged pigs work hard and don't get any reward but a little food. This is just like the song "Bellies Are Full" by Portugal. The Man. It talks about how one man can just work so hard, and yet socially never be as good as the people in front of him. There is a line that says "if we had the money we'd climb our way back down somehow." This is talking about how these superior characters will always make you feel lower than you are, no matter how you try. I think that the harder you work, the more you should get, and people should never be divided by social class.

The theme that I have chosen that went along with this novel was, rebellion. In the beginning of the novel, all the animals of "The Manor Farm" went with Old Major's word and went against Mr. Jones, and ran him off his farm. Soon after, they changed it to "The Animal Farm", and having rules, and guidelines for the animals to follow. They did this rebellion so they could be free, and live their lives they way they wanted. Also, throughout the novel, Napoleon tries to claim the farm from Snowball. Before Snowball could realize what was happening, he was off the farm. Some of the animals were not okay with this, they liked Snowball. When things started getting out of hand with Napoleon, the leader of the farm, some of the animals started going against him, thinking they could beat him. However, they did not, Napoleon simply took care of them, literally. The song that I have chosen to go along with the theme of rebellion is "I Fought the Law" by Green Day. How this song corresponds with the theme is all in the title as well as the lyrics. "I fought the law, and the law one." When some of the animals went against Napoleon (the law), Napoleon killed them (the law one). Those lyrics are played all through out the song, and it also has other lyrics that go along with the story of "The Animal Farm".

One theme that is in animal farm is hard times. There were hard times when Jones was there which is why they wanted the rebellion in the first place. They thought he didn't feed them enough and wanted to get rid of him. When he was gone and Napoleon took over everything was good until he started taking things away. Clover knew it was wrong and things were getting worse. Then he was killing animals and changing the commandments and walking. Also, they still didn't have enough food to eat. A song that goes with the theme of hard times is These Hard Times by Matchbox Twenty. It talks about people promising you things they can't give (Napoleon promising a better life) and just how they want relief from hard times and that things will get better.

Mr. Kay,

The theme that I am going to choose is denial. there is a lot of denial in Animal Farm. For instance, Napoleon blames everything on Snowball. Snowball hasnt been around for many chapters now and thinks that Snowball is an easy way to get out of all the things that he has done. Snowball had nothing to do with any of the decisions that Napoleon has made. A song that reflects this is 'Blame it' by jamie foxx. This song represents it because he is blaming his actions on something that he had control of. This is a perfect example of denial.

One of the themes that I saw alot during the book was induvialism. In the song "Stupid Girl" by Pink. In the song Pink sings about how all girls want to be a certian way. To be like the popular girls in school. Well I think that Napolean wanted all the animals to be the way he wants them to be. Pink wants the little girls to know that it is ok to be different. We are all different for a reason. If we were supposed the same then we would look the same.

The theme that I picked was freedom. The animals wanted freedom from humans to not be over worked, treated harshly, and be fed a fair meal. The song that I think that connects to the theme of freedom is "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley. The song talks about emancipating themselves from slavery and none but themselves can make this happen. The animals took it upon themselves to break free from Mr. Jones and run the farm on their own. Also, the song talks about singing the songs of freedom. I compare this to the animals singing "Beasts of England". "Won't you help sing these songs of freedom? "Causle all I ever have: Redemption songs, Redemption songs." The "Redemption Song" connects to the animals wanting freedom for themselves to not be accountable to man.

The animals dont want to take mr.Jones meaness anymore. In the song they say they arent guna take it anymore. They say they will fight to be free. This is just like Animal farm, all the animals fight to be free.

In Animal farm there is a lot of wanting to break free. I think that the animals wanted to be free from Mr. Jones, and from Napoleon. They were constantly looking to be free from something. The song that i choose is "Someday" by Flipsyde. The songs lyrics go like this," Someday were gonna break free from these chains and keep on flying." This resembles how the animals are looking to get rid of the leaders. They just want to be able to roam free, like how they originally planned.

Mr. Kay, this was really hard to figure out and relate to. I did my 7 sentences for credit!! But id still like to talk to you about this.

I would think the danger of a naive working class was the most common theme in Animal Farm. "Back In The USSR" perhaps? The Beatles sarcastic lyrics of "You don't know how lucky you are!" comparing communist life to capitalist life. I may be a bit off, but the entire situation in Animal farm is because the animals weren't able to prevent the complete plunder of the pigs. Why? Realistic animal attention/memory span. Okay fine, I couldn't find a song in time to match the theme. My great and sincerest apologies.

A theme that I see in Animal Farm is sacrifice. Snowball sacrificed all his time constructing plans for the windmill to help make life easier for the animals. Boxer sacrificed and worked as hard as 3 horses normally work. This probably is not a good one, but Napolean "sacrificed" Boxer when he became to old to work. Sacrifice is what made the whole rebellion possible. If all the animals were selfish, it never would have worked. As they say, sometimes you have to give a little to get a lot. In the song 'Hammerhead' by The Offspring, it explains sacrificing for your own kind basically.

"I am the one
Camouflage and guns
Risk my life
To keep my people from harm

Authority
Vested in me
I sacrifice
With my brothers in arms

The song that i think goes with this is "Its America" by Rodney Adkins. It corresponds with animal farm because it talks about how lucky we are to be free and our lifestyle. "Its a big flag flying in the summer wind over a fallen heroes grave". This is like animal farm becuase they are so proud of their flag and they fight for their freedom.

A theme I noticed throughout Animal Farm is inequality. In Old Majors speech he discussed how man was the problem and how all animals are comrades. But, after he was gone Napoleon got the idea that he could rule the farm. He brain washed the animals on the farm and got them to believe he was always right and what ever he did was the best. And on page 96 it shows how Napoleon changed the commandment " No animal shall drink alcohol" to " No animal shall drink alcohol to excess". He told any animals who questioned it that it had always been that way and they just don't remember it. A song that goes with this theme is Blackbird by The Beatles. In this song they say " Blackbird singing in the dead of night,Take these broken wings and learn to fly,
All your life,You were only waiting for this moment to arise". This is sort of like the theme because its shows that the bird has broken wings and can't fly. So its unequal and its saying that the bird should learn to fly with its inequality.

I think Revolution is a good theme. The theme of a revolution is seen many times when the pigs slowly start to take power. The animals reason with each other to comfort one another when something goes wrong. The song I pick is, "Talking bout a Revolution" by Tracy Chapman.
This song mostly represents the rise of the animals over Mr.Jones. The Lyrics--"
Poor people gonna rise up
And get their share
Poor people gonna rise up
And take whats theirs

Dont you know
You better run, run, run...
Oh I said you better
Run, run, run..."

This says it all. How the poor animals that were treated badly rose up and took a stand.
Tracy Chapman is an African American, and I think that he sings from the heart. Maybe from personal experience with Racial Injustice.

I think freedom is a good theme. On Animal Farm they always wanted it. They never truely got full freedom but they worked hard to attempt it. The only reason I say they don't have full freedom is because of the pigs. They restricted the other animals on the farm. They did not let other animals have full equality. They did however help get independence from humans. The song I chose is "Proud to be an American" by Toby Keith. I think this song fits under freedom. It shows freedom and independence.

I think that a huge theme in this would be Independence. This is thoughout the book as a huge fight. All the animals did what they did because they thought they were getting more independence. A song that works good with this is "Independence Day" by Carrie Underwood. In the song it talks about how everything may seem completely awful but you are idependent. Being independent brings joy and happiness. This is exactly like what happened in the book. The animals continued to work hard even though they had horrible conditions. However, what kept them going was they believed they were independent which is the same storyline to the song.

I think the theme inequality was established well. A good to song that fits it would be " The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson. The reason is the song is about people thinking they are higher up. Showing inequality in social class. There is a lower class simply because the other people are more "beautiful" then the others. Just like the pigs made social classes because they are smarter. At first it was meant to be equal but the pigs exploited things to their advantage. In the song its talking about how they are just annoyed with the upper class and they don't need them. At first the animals didn't mind the pigs but got annoyed with them later on.

The most expressed theme in Animal Farms is following blindly and the manipulation of the animals by the pigs.

The song I see most fit is 'Amaranth' by NightWish.

-"Baptised with a perfect name-"
-Napoleon is born with the name
of a conqueror, and it is a
suiting name.

-"War between him and the day
Need someone to blame
In the end little he can do alone"
-Napoleon is conflicted with
Snowball's rise in popularity
and runs him off the farm. He
later uses him as a scapegoat
for future problems on the farm.

-"Caress the one the hiding amaranth
In the land of the Daybreak"
-The animals are forced to
believe they are working towards
paradise.

-"Apart from the wandering pack"
-the animals rebelled from
Napoleon

-"...We reach for the ones who ever dare"
-they force a confession from
them, and in turn, killing them.

-"You believe but what you see.
You recieve but what you give."
-The animals believe what they
are told.
They work for their food, but
receive the same amount they had
when Jones was around.

-"Reaching, searching for something untouched."
-The animals felt like life
wasn't turning out the way they
hoped it would.

The theme that I picked is class stratification. Orwell shows us that even when a society is supposed to be equal, we (humans) still mess it up by classifying everybody. As soon as Mr. Jones left pigs stepped in and took over the dictator position. Soon the brainworkers manipulated the physical laborers. The song that I chose is High School Never Ends by Bowling For Soup. The song is about how everyone is separated throughout high school. You leave high school expecting things to be different but it is all just the same.

And the world will be as one"
and they wanted to be all equal, and it represents in the song as well.

I think that trust is one of the themes discussed in Animal Farm. The animals build trust in Napoleon and Snowball near the early start of Animal Farm. With this trust, they let them lead without much questioning, and that ended up being one of their biggest problems. In parts of the song, "Echo" by Gorilla Zoe, parts of the song relate to the book and the theme of trust and how trust can backfire on you.
"Disgusted with trust
I trust no one no more
Just went with the flow
Found myself on the floor"
This part of the song describes exactly what the animals did. They, "just went with the flow" as the song says and ended up "on the floor." Basically, once they realized something was wrong and that Napoleon could not be trusted, it was too late.

I think one of the major themes in animal farm is independence. I think this is true because all the animals were trying to gain is independence. Napoleon leads the animals to be independent away from Mr. Jones. Than the animals try to remain independent by running the farm by themselves. I choose a song by Francis Scott Key, obviously known as the Star Spangled Banner. As we all know this song was written when America was trying to break free from the Great Britain. This song was a huge example of American Independence. I really do think independence was a major form in Animal Farm.

Leadership is a theme that is expressed many times in Animal Farm. Snowball and Napoleon battle back and forth for who will be the head leader. Napoleon ends up becoming the leader and takes advantage of all the animals. He ends up gaining too much power and turning the farm into basically a dictatorship. He altered the commandments and treated the animals horrible. Leadership is something that can be overthrown, but a plan has to be there to support it. The leadership roles in the book portrayed those in real life. Without a plan, a good plan, the same thing will repeat itself, as we read. I chose the song Everybody is Somebody by Lifehouse. It says how you shouldnt be afraid of yourself and the things you can achieve. It shows that you can ahve the courage to do anything, therefore lead.

Looking back on animal farm and all the rebbelious things they did in order to recieve what the always wanted shows pride. Pride i sthe willingto do above and beyond in order to get one's way. In animal farm, the animals feel that they are not recieving what they feel they deserve. So, with all the pride in the farm, they decide to over throw their leader and make a change to what they feel is best for all. Just the thought of freedom is what the animals wanted. witht his in mind, as i listen to its america by rodney atkins i get the feeling by the lyrics that america is such a great place and there is no reason what so ever why we should ver let the gov't take over this great place. And thats the same as the animals not wanting anyone like mr. jones to take it over.

However, in the end, all of the animals are being controlled, by napolean. A song that i think corresponds to this would be "pint a dark picture" by "tech n9ne". i think this corresponds because it talks about running away and just being free. It also talks about this dark picture that reality is and how everyone wants it to b different. the animals all want things on the farm to be different.

Overcoming odds is a theme that is shown in the book Animal Farm. No one thought the animals were powerful or smart enough to take over the farm. The animals believed in themselves and were able to overcome. I believe in mind over matter not everyone is talented enough to accomplish task that may seem impossible but if you believe and work your ass off you can accomplish your goal. Lance Armstrong and Barrack Obama are great examples of this. Doctors told Lance he may never live again but he worked hard and fought off cancer and came back to ride and win his 7th Tour de France. Barrack Obama was criticized for being black and was told he would never become president and he worked hard and persuaded alot of people to vote him into office. This is why I picked the song I Believe by R. Kelly. This song explains how Barrack Obama fought through adversity to become are leader.

The theme i am going going to talk about from Animal Farm is unfairness. All the animals are treated unfairly at some point or another in the story there is alows someone that is better than the common pig and gets more then they devire. In the beginning it is Mr.Mannor he takes without giving much in return, he should give them better conditions for all that they give him. But by the end the pigs are the ones who are the ones taking more than their share. The pigs sit around all day and get matorirty of the food at the end of the day. They also get "special privaliages" that are just for them, like drinking, sleeping in beds and wearing clothing. The song i am going to link to my theme is Taxman by the Beatles. This song talks about John Lennon and how he got taxed in the U.S and England. This is unfair because he only kept 5% of his earnings, the rest was taxes.

I think one of the major themes in Animal Farm is freedom. All the animals wanted to do through out the book was be free from all humans. The reason being is humans are their only enemy and they ran Mr. Jones off the farm. A song that realtes to this would be "Good Time" by Alan Jackson. The song talks about how he wants to get out of work and have a good time after working all week. It goes like this: "I been workin all week and Im tired, I dont want to sleep I want to have a good time." This relates to freedom because the animals are tired of working all the time and being slaved around and they just want to be free and not do any more work.

A theme that comes up in Animal Farm is individualism. THe animals want to do stuff their own way. The humans dislike what they are doing at animal farm. So they start rumors and want animal farm to be like their farms. A song that reminded me of this was "My Generation" by: "The Who".
Lyrics-
People try to put us d-down (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
Just because we get around (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
Things they do look awful c-c-cold (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
I hope I die before I get old (Talkin' 'bout my generation)

This is my generation
This is my generation, baby

Why don't you all f-fade away (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
And don't try to dig what we all s-s-say (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
I'm not trying to cause a big s-s-sensation (Talkin' 'bout my generation).

I beleive that this song is saying why can't you just let us be and let us do our own thing. Its our group of individuals and we are going to do wat we want to do. That is how i picture the animals in animal far.

with equality on my mind, and with ben folds always on my mind, i have a great choice. i actually listened to it with my mom, and she thought it was racist, but, in my mind, this song, is a testament to the fact of how many people promise so much, and say they are the cool shit, but really, they end up being the enemy.

this song is called: All That U Can Eat, By Ben Folds, from the album: Supersunnyspeedygraphic, The LP.

now, i really meant this being a song to atest the fact that; there have been a lot of times in my life when i, and others, have made promise, to be the best, and to make the best choices. but in reality, no one is perfect. no, it connects to animal farm, in a sense that, there was not a great majority of equality at any one point at time in the book. and also, when Ben Recites: "they give no F**K", it is like the pigs, in the sense, that "they give no F**K, as long as there is enough for them." in which, that is the pigs main goal, to have it be all play and no work, at least for the pig species.

except, this song, get to the point, where you would love to see those people "with the peace signs on their license plates, giving you the finger, and running me out of my lane"; we just wish they could see the world from different perspectives. like how there is a lot of ignorance, a lot of the time, especially from some of our classmates, who choose to pick on other classmates. when you see that ignorance, i just wish they were in his shoes, seing how bad it is for him.

anyways, it’s a great song, a great album, and a great musician. you can check him out on youtube here: http://tinyurl.com/BenFolds-AllUCanEat

rebellion is a huge theme in the stroy. it shows how the animals gained independence and started their own society. the animals are trying to break off of Mr. Jones control. this song is about how someone or a bunch of people wanted a revolution. everyone wants to see the plan and they wonder what they have to contribute. also it says if there will be forms of violence they wont take part. at the begining of the book and the song they talk about how everyone wanted a revolution just like Old Major holding the seceret meeting. the animals got mad at the end after they realized the pigs were using different tatics besides equality to get things down.

Revolution by the Beatles

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
Ah

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right

I think that one of themes was rebellion. The perfect song for this is "Mosh" by Eminem. In the song he sings about leaving the war and having the president fight it on his own. In the book, the animals rebell from Mr. Jones and they take over. In this song the same thing is discussed. He wants the president to be gone but he wants to still be part of his country. The song also talks about how following someone else could possibly have you killed. Following the president in this case could force you to fight over seas. Rebellion is a big part of Eminem and he explains it in most of his songs, but "Mosh" explains over ruling a person. All the animals were thinking the exact way.

Maybe this is the hardest blog every I've seen in my life. I'd rather make a new song than find one!!!!
One of the main themes of this allegory is rebellion. And I know a very good song about rebellion against the government. It's actually pretty good besides the fact that it's Korean song, which is "Lesson 2" by "Epik High". They are my favorite hip hop group. In the song, they talk about the social injustice, why they should sacrifice themselves for the riches, and hopeless future, which pretty much corresponds with Major's idea. Here's the link to view the music video.

I feel that freedom is a great theme that is used in the book. The animals want to be free from their horrible leader Mr. Jones. They want to be able to run the farm for themselves on their terms. It works great in the rebillion, but after that it all kinda ges down hill from there. At the end they are all being controlled just as they were with Jones. A song i think best corresposed with the theme of freedom is, It's America, By Rodney Atkins. The reason that this song best correstponds with the theme of freedom, because it is talking about the ture life as a free american. It talks about the fun adventures we go throw as the free people of the world. http://www.ilike.com/artist/Rodney+Atkins/track/It's+America.

the theme that i choose is freedom. Most of the animals want to be free from Mr. Jones and run the farm them self's. the animals want to live there own lives and not be controlled. Money, Power, Respect by, Kutta Keys, it is about doing what ever they have to do to get to the top and not let any body in the world stop them. in some way i think that this is what the animals did.
