So, people trying to overthrow their dictator. Interesting idea. Actually, I give Taylor and Conner a great deal of respect for having an idea and trying to get people to join. While it may not have been the best made plan, they had an issue and wanted to do something about it. This is called social activism and is something we will be talking about for the next couple of weeks.
I know that some people are tired of blogging. I want you to realize what blogging has done for you. First, it has made you write, create sentences and think. If you have blogged almost everyday this school year, you have technically written about 5 papers. Why do I do this? Because it will end up helping the writing section of the ACT. I have asked you to think and analyze quotes and situations as well as, having you think about the items we discuss in class at a more adult level. Through this, you have become more critical thinkers and I have seen this in both class discussions and in the way you answer questions on quizzes.
I know to you that it is just something that you need to remember to do everyday but this skill of thinking about this will help you as your classes get harder and then when you go to college, to the military or to work. There is a method to my madness and you will all appreciate it one day. Some of the other teachers have gone to the blog site and have commented on how better your responses are to their students who are responding in class or in a notebook at home. Most of you are on the computer as some point in the evening anyway and it would seem that being able to respond in your world would make it better for you. For some people, the blogs are a place where they can express their opinions when often they are not allowed or encouraged.
For me, the blogs give an insight into each of you. I feel that I have gotten to know each of you better by reading your blogs and getting a sense of how you think, feel and yes, even write. I truly think that this exercise has created a more cohesive class. I think that I have the best 2 10th grade sections out of all the teachers. Truly, why would I want to teach you all again next year if that was not true. Am I a harder teacher than most? Yes. Why? (and I know you are dying to get to the actual prompt but bear with me). Because I believe that each of you are capable of meeting me at the level I expect. It would be a waste if my class was just easy and you walked away with less information or lower expectations. It is hard to understand that at the age of 15 & 16 but trust me I know what I am talking about.
So here is what I want you to write about: NOTHING. I want you to enjoy this weekend and know that I appreciate the work you have done this year and will continue to do for the next 5 weeks. I want you to know that I learn from each of you everyday as much as you hopefully learn from me. Enjoy your weekend but the blogs will be up and running on Monday!
To Conner and Taylor, good idea, poor execution but I am proud that you even had the thought. In the end, I am more powerful than you combined or separate so don't even think about it again. You took what you read and tried to put it into action and for that you deserve to not blog tonight.

Listen hear mr. kay you do not have the best 10th grade lit class. Because i'm in the best class. i HAVE HEARD about these blogs and i had to do one myself. Let me tell you the are the stupidest thing i have ever done. I support conners and twats pettition and you can count on my name in the number one slot on the up coming pettition that ty is passing around.

first off, i believe you said some great, factual, things about our class; and its good to hear that you are getting to know us a lot better. i feel that over the whole year, i have expressed so much more about myself, than i ever have for anything else, ever.
i thank you for creating these blogs, because, they truly have made me think about the things that really matter; and they have also helped myself see what is inside of me. i have seen who i am, and i hope others have gained a great insight about me as well. i know that i am not the type who always goes out, and says everything that i want to, but with these blogs, not only have i been able to say those things in the blogs, but i have also been able to face others, look them in the eyes, and also tell them the information; which at one point in time, i never would have been able to do. but, all of these blogs have been a big help, to my mother, who sees great insight into my thought process's now.
now, what i was going to say on tuesdays blog, which i did not complete, is that, i believe you gave us a hard blog, because of the fact that you wanted to prove; with that being that when the work gets tough, you can not have people skipping out on it. like if your employer gives you a massive assignment that you CAN do, but DO NOT want to, it would be right to do it anyways, because, if we were to skip out on it, we would get fired, for lack of work ethic. i see what you were trying to do, and, although i didn’t do it, i see the values you were trying to instill.
so, thank you for all of the good that has come out of the blogs, because, even though i know they were tough, and so does everyone else, i see the benefits, i see them clearer than what my eyes can see. and, it has given confidence in not only me, but my mom, and hopefully, you. given the confidence that i am not part of a generation who will worship the media, or praise the gossip that goes around. i hope it gives the confidence that there is more than what meets the eye.
i hope it give everyone confidence, for a generation lead by intellectuals.
So, Thank You for making us better in the ways we never would have done ourselves.

Thanks Mr.Kay I never thought that you thought of us that way. Connor and T had a really good idea. If they ever want to try it again I think that they need to talk about it with the class. Maybe Connor and T are not that powerful but I think that if all of us can over through you. That is what they did in the book animal farm. It took all of the animals to over though Jones.

I know you probably forgot about me, but I'm using the school computer at my new school and I remembered this blogging site. I went here for the first semester this year and I want to say that if it weren't for this blogging, I wouldn't be such a good writer. I really appreciate doing this and I just wanted to thank you because I was on of 7 people in my grade that got a 6 on my Florida Writes. That is the highest grade you can receive, you are an awesome teacher. Thanks a lot!!!!!
