Day 9
Can you give a description of a time in history when a world leader used, or in your life where you have used or seen used propaganda, to try and get your way. (this is not the best sentence I have ever written). Everyone cannot use Hitler so don't. How could you use propaganda to get something from someone right now?

Every couple of years you see people who are running for certain positions in office use propaganda. Presidential debates also use verbal propaganda by telling people what they want to hear. However the most propaganda I have ever seen was when the United States was in desperate need of a military. They US was struggling without an army and they needed to bring people in fast. They constantly were using posters, TV ads, and radio advertisements. The government was listing all of the perks for joining including things people were in desperate need of including food and shelter. The United States really did get their way because people came pouring in to the military and the US was back to being a world power. In fact so many people joined that they needed more space to put them in. I could use propaganda to get something by listing many of my traits and characteristics. Many people may like what they hear, I hope, and that might help me get something I would want.

Propaganda is a used a great amount in different situations. A very big cause that i see people use propaganda for is the running of a person or group for a certain position. Things such as local residents running for the countys board or treasurer and things like that. Propaganda is even used through out our schools. Wheni walk up and down the hall way i always see paper signs taped on the walls proposing the support for a person running for class president, vice presidennt and more. The one propaganda theme that always pops in my head when i hear this word is the running for precidency. You can drive down the street during election time and in any direction you look, you will see some support for a candidate trying to get across to the people to vote for that person. Signs just absolutly flouded throughout people's yards, Cars are covered in bumper stickers with the candidates names on them. Propaganda is easily one of the main tools used by people to get them on there side and to support them.
Currently everyone is covering themselves in cleansing products making sure the terrible disease of the swine flu does not reach them. I believe propaganda can take a big role in this situation by posting signs stating "Wash hands, cover mouths when you sneeze and cough and if you do not feel good, stay home and away from other people." If this were to be posted and to get the information around to people, evryone will start taking it serious and try to keep the risk of it spreading to a minimum.

President Wilson comes to mind as a person that used propaganda to sway things his way. Wilson created the CPI (Committe on Public Information) to assert war by staying neutral. The CPI took advantage of Radio, film & art. President Wilson used George Creel to direct the news and solicit widespread support for the war between Germany. This was a re-election year for Wilson and he knew that the U.S. involvement in WWI would be a necessity. Therefore, he used propaganda to his advantage to get re-elected.
I could use propaganda to persuade my parents that I need a car. Such as: my need to work this summer (I need transportation). I will have my own money to spend and keep out of their pocket book. I am very responsible and have achieved excellent grades all year. I will advertise all of the benefits of me having my own car. We'll see how that goes.
Mr.Kay,
In history, one example of the use of propaganda would be when McCarhty said he had a list of communists that were in the government. I dont really know if that is an example of propaganda but, i think the way he used seems to be. In my own life i have used propaganda in the sense of getting my way if i want to do something. For instence if i want to go somewhere and my mom is about to say no i try to show her that im responsible and do good. using propaganda today i would use it to prove to my mom that i can stay up later at night because i am older, i do pretty okay, and i am pretty mature most of the time.

Vladimir Lenin is one I can think of who used propaganda. He used advertisement to lure Russian public into the revolutionary war. He also used posters explaining how everyone in the Russian public needed to get closer to the government. He had great ideas, and a lot of them worked. He was known for a lot of his propaganda. A way to get something from someone right now would require a bit more thinking, and it depends what i'm going for. Say I wanted to get a used car that I saw from someone. Another guy wants it and has the cash right away and is going to buy it. A way I would try to get him around from buying it would be by making up things to discorage him. I would say don't buy that because I've talked to the owner and the transmission is going to break soon, or some other lie. This would be a fairly believable lie to play on someone to get what I want.
In history in elections for the presidents they use propaganda. People running for president say what they will do to make our country better. Propaganda that you see everyday is like comercials on tv. They are everywhere. THey have comercials for almost everything. Right now i could use propaganda to get a laptop. I can tell my parents that i need one because i can type anywhere in my house that i want to then.Or i could tell them how it could help me and then maybe it would work.

Propaganda is seen in alot of things all of the time. The one thing that sticks in my head the most is government elections. I think that propaganda for the electinos is the best example. I think that they do great deals by luring people into votes. In history, i think that there was alot of propaganda in the american revolution. I thionk that many wanted people to break from england. These people had to be advertising and showing people examples to why they should join. Right now, the one thing that i have seen alot of propaganda from is the verizon wireless home phone/tv. I tink that its great, every time i turn on the tv theres a commercial, and every other day someone calls to talk to us about buying them. I think that right now i need to show some propaganda to my parents about some new hockey and baseball equiptment. I think that i should show them the prices and the specs for these and see if they will biute in on buying me them.
There have been many times when propaganda has been used to meet people's needs. President Bush did this quite often (big surprise). In the closing days of September 2002, with a congressional vote fast approaching on authorizing the use of military force in Iraq, Bush said in his weekly radio address: "The Iraqi regime possesses biological and chemical weapons, is rebuilding the facilities to make more and, according to the British government, could launch a biological or chemical attack in as little as 45 minutes after the order is given. . . . This regime is seeking a nuclear bomb, and with fissile material could build one within a year." A few days later, something similar was included in a National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Though it was an analysis that hadn't been done in years.
Personally I don't think I would use propaganda like this. If I did then I'd be stooping to George Bush's level, and I don't want that.

Propaganda is used in almost every commercial on TV. For example the McCdonalds theme song is propaganda. Another propaganda used was in the presidential elections. The candidates used propaganda and tag lines for viewers to help support them. Like Obama's was "McCain more of the same." Many leaders and organizations do this to get what they want. Propaganda could easily be used to help myself obtain things that i desire. For example to get off campus lunch, the student body could create and anthem, or tag line to support what were working toward. to give good reason for our choices and make our position known.
Mr. Kay,
A time in history when a world leader used propaganda to try to get their way was when Kwame Kilpatrick tried to pursuade everyone that he did not have anything to do with the texting scandal. Kwame tried to make it seem like he never did anything wrong. He spent time with his wife and kids, and took them on vaction. He even showed up to events with his wife, holding hands, and kissing. But Kwame did not succeed. The scandal was soon brought to TV and newspapers. He didn't stand a chance. Plus he had no deffence when they showed up with the evidence. I think that I could use propaganda to get someone to feel really bad for me. At that point, I bet I could get them to ask me "Is there anything I can do?" or "Is there anything I can get you?". Now that is wrong, and I would never do that. Nobody that's ever trying to do something nice, should ever have to have someone trick them like that. Using a propaganda to get something from someone should be illegal. Unless it will somehow save there life.

A time in history when some one has used propoganda to get what they want is religion. Religion uses all sorts of proaganda to recrute people. They use propaganda to try to get you to accept religion and believe. Examples of this would be people who go out and preech, people who claim they can heal illnesses with the love of God. All these things attract you to religion because they are positive aspects of it. They say if you believe in God you will go to Heaven. The bible is the biggest example of propaganda for religion. All these are not forced upon you, but they make religion very appealing and that is exactly what propaganda is.
I personally love Jesus :)
Ah, there are so many forms to chose from. So many I would like to give a piece of my mind. I choose...my frontal lobe, Mcrathy might have been the one to cause the red scare. Then the US gov't issued that Hollywood to create red scare movies as representing sci-fi horror.
I would not truly know what/why I would use propaganda. I don't plan to have political wants that are major enough to be nationally important. All in all I would just use the political cartoon, the oldest, most creative propaganda there is.

A propaganda that focuses around leadership would been seen the most during the election time. The presidential candidates try to persuade you to see how they will be the best man to run our country. In history, war is one of the most significant times when propaganda was used. The government wants the citizens to believe that going to war is the best choice for their country, and wants support from it's citizens. Most people recognize propaganda in a written form, but I have used a verbal form of propaganda to try and get my way. If I were to use propaganda right now, I would list all of my positive traits, and tell the people I am persuading the things I can do to help them. I would want to make people think exactly what I wanted them to. Propaganda's are usually used to have people see and agree with your side.
I see propaganda used everyday. For example on tv, every commercial is using propaganda in some way. Another big example is presidential campaigns. Whenever there is a presidential election, thats all we see is constent advertising for a particular canidate. People use propaganda to get there way. To do this, they constently use advertising. Or, try to convince others why their way is the best way. I could use propaganda to persuade my parents why i should get the car this weekend instead of my sister. For example, I would say that i never get the car, and deserve a chance, also how responcible i am.

A world leader in my time who used propaganda to get elected is Obama. He made many promises and has already lied. From the time he was elected senator, he used verbal propaganda with the help of the press. He was in the news constantly. How I can get propaganda is by getting a college scholarship. Another way would be showing my mom why I need a cell phone. I think those are some ways of using propaganda.

There are several ways that propaganda is used. One way is on the tv the commericals. All commercials are promoting something in them and they are using propaganda. Another way is in an election for something. When someone is running for a position they will use propaganda in their campaign. An example of that is for our class vice president election right now. I see posters put up in the halls saying vote for this person and it says something about that person on the poster. A time in history when propaganda was used is for the Vietnam War. People opposed the war and the propaganda tried to stop the war so people would be happy. I could use propaganda right now to stop people from buying things made in foreign countries. If I tell them to stop buying things made in other countries maybe it would make some people get a few jobs back in our country.

The propaganda most i see most used is the one of Unlce Sam, with the "I want You" for the army slogen basicaly. I also notice that whenever it comes up to election time the streets are filled with those annoying vote for me signs stuck all in the road sides. I don't think i've evre used a propaganda before, but im i probally have in some way. Using them is a great way to get what you want. If the propaganda has a catching zng to it then alot of people are going to remeber it. If you think of it they are basiclly worded comertials made to get you to think a certain way. If i could a propaganda to get something i wanted right now, I would use it in a way that they wouldn't even realize, I would be minipualtive and very secretive when using. This is the way to get what you want.

People use propaganda all the time to get there message across. If it's clever, and interesting it gets stuck in you mind. Then when the subject comes up, the propaganda would influence you. I remember in history class last year we learned that reporters used propaganda to show how Andrew Jackson was becomeing too powerful and wronging the Native Americans. They were mainly little pictures that would show up in newspapers and magaizines. They really made an impact though, people started thinking more about his power. His popularity also declined. So I believe propaganda really does work. However, it only works if you get the message across.

Back when new terriroty out west was discovered in the U.S., it was new land for the american people. Their was propaganda on how the land was fertile and perfect for growng cops. Their was propaganda that it was the perfect place to work and raise a family at. An example for me to use propaganda to get my way would be posting posters and bullitins to vote for me as class president. I would have statements why I think I fit the job right. I would have maybe a catchy phrase put on buttons for my supporters. I could have information on how I put the schools peoples needs first.

Recently we started a war with Iraq. We were told that they had weapons of mass destruction. We were made to fear what Iraq or the Taliban could do with them. We found out that this was based on misinformation (propaganda) to get support and funding for the war.
I would not use propaganda to get something because I am not that type of person to use it. I would use bargaining to get what I want. I think that we should let people know the truth instead of using propaganda.
Every four years during the election's is when I always see propaganda's everywhere. How they do this is by, putting up flyers, posters, adds in news papers, TV comericals, and radio ads. Each candidate try's to make each citizen get on their side. They try to persuade us so we would vote for them in the election. They dig up dirt on each other, to try and make each other look bad. To make us think that their opponent is the bad choice to run our country, and that they are the right choice. If I were to use propaganda in my life, I would list all the positive characteristics. People may like what I have to offer, and there's a possibility that I could get something I want.

Mr. Kay,
I am not very history savvy, but I do know that almost all presidents do it. When they advertise their campaign, they true to got you to go towards their side of the campaign. Though it is not as severe or as big as what Hitler did, it is still considered a type of propaganda. See, Hitler made it seem like he is always doing the right thing, and he wanted people to also get that notion. Now, campaigners just want to get their point across using simple advertising and such. In my life, I guess a way of propaganda is if I actually found facts and such to prove point or get my way. If I want to get something out of my parents, I might use some fact or something just to get them to understand me and maybe I can get what I want. Or if I am trying to prove a point to a friend, I would prove it to them using something other than logic. Proof, or something that would persuade their opinion. I can see how propaganda could be helpful, but some dictators and such will just take it to an extreme and just use it corruptly. They make it hand it out like hot cakes. And the thing is they make it so it really controls people, which is a real shame. Its different if you are trying to use it for a chance for someone to look at you differently, but not for complete manipulation. This is my thoughts on propaganda.

A time when someone used propoganda is when there are cults. Cults use alot of propoganda and I think that they can be very misleading. The leaders of these cults use propoganda to perswade people to do things that they want them to. It couold be something extreamly stupid the poeple might do it for their leader or because it is what they believe in. For example the cult leader jones. He killed many people at the place "Jones town". He made them drink a bunch of pison which killed many of them. He tricked the people using propoganda. The people trusted in him and they drank the posin. He killed many people, and he did it because the people trusted in him. He used propaganda to get what he wanted to get.

Propaganda is something that probably everyone has used in their life. I know i have whitnessed people using it and i know i have used it. One time when i wanted to go somewhere for my birthday that is what i did. It at first didn't work out but i never gave u[ and it ended up working. I really wanted to go on a salmon fishing charter and so i found websites showing how much fun it is ans that you get to keep all the salmon you catch. Plus that it is a great family thing to do and everyone has fun. Well i could make a poster saying something good about it and where that persons idle is on it encouraging that person to go.
Ty Bouwens
Mr. Kay,
Propoganda is a thing that is a great tool, but is not always truthful. One person that has used propoganda is many companies tryign to sell their product. My most memorable times I see propoganda is during the super bowl. The super bowl is the biggest money making time for the TV stations. They try and sell their product by making it look the best and the best deal. In the attempt to seel the product, they may present an offer that they cannot keep. The people of the US need to be smart, and not take all of these offeres seriously. Because, in the end you could end up getting ripped off.
Tim Wilson
Well i think that Joe Macarthy used fear and propaganda to get what he wanted. He wanted communist poeple to be locked up. He made a fake list with peoples names that were supposilly communist. If iwanted something i would try to find some dirt on that person. Lets say i found Mr. Kay fool'n around with a teacher at LHS. Then i would be like, "yo Mr Kay i saw you and joe shmo over in the corner earlier. I want a better grade in this class. So if you don't give me a better grade then i will tell the principle and you will be fired. In reality i probly would never do that to Mr. Kay, but if he was being a real McCasshole then i may.
Zack Ruffin
to relate it to a world around us everyday, i see it in school all the time. people make up rumors or twist things around to make someone look bad if they don't like them. they tell others and try to make everyone not like this one person. most of the time everyone just belives them even if they don't know the person personally. they just go along with it because they don't want to disagree and be outcasted themselves. using propaganda can be easy or hard. you just have to think of good reasons so people will think there is enough support and back up for your reason. once you get some people on your side others will follow because you already have some with you.
Every time we have a election we see propaganda. people saying vote for president A and other people saying vote for president B. There has been positive and negative propaganda during these also. It is mostly positive and is also part of the candidates slogan. Like Obama he had change as his slogan and thats what we need right now. Hopefully it will be a positive change. The negative propaganda comes out during mudslinging moments.

A time when a leader has used propaganda is when they used the Uncle Sam posters and all the advertisements for being in the army and things like that. There were a lot of posters involving the women and showing ways that they can support the war efforts. They wanted to get their support in the war and to make it a positive thing and make it seem like the cool thing to do. If you joined the war then you would get the pretty girls and be a hero because all that stuff was fun. They didn't show all the bad parts of war they just said that anyone over the age of 18 could go defend the country. They misrepresented war and a lot of guys that left were pretty surprised about the harsh realities of war. To get something from someone right now I could just twist words around and make it seen to benefit them in some way. I have done that a lot with my parents to try to talk them into things. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It usually works the best when I see it from their point of view and how they think about things, that's what propaganda is.
People use propaganda all the time. We just had another class election and I saw many signs up on the walls, telling us why we should vote for them. They also went on stage and gave convincing speeches about what they will do if elected. They used fancy words and flashy signs. They have people talk to you about them and how they could adhere to your needs. I see propaganda on TV where these annoying infomercials hire Billy Maze to yell out the product so you will listen to him. Propaganda can be good or bad depending on the person who is spreading it. Also like squealer, the person spreading the information is not necessarily the one in charge. Right now if I wanted my mom to buy mu laptop id tell her about all of the great features it has, and by not telling her what kinds of things that aren't so great on it she might buy it.

In history, pretty much every elected government official has used prpaganda tactics. They want to say either good things about thesleves to get you as a citizen to like them, or they want to say bad things about opponenets in order to make you see that they're the best for the job. The past election is an example. In my life, I have used propaganda to spread the word about lawn cutting in the summer. I said things on my flyers that hopefully made people think I was the best option for the best work and lowest cost for them. I could use propaganda right now to get to understand the conservative side of life. I know I am just a kid, but I could make a difference. I understand business, and how the government works. I could tell people how distributing the wealth is a bad idea becasue it discourages people from working hard. (Ask about it tomorrow or something and I will gladly tell you...no really someone ask!). I could say how liberals base their ideas on feelings and conservatives base them on facts. That is something I could do that falls under the idea of propaganda.
In my life, I see propoganda for the country such as joining the army, navy, national guard, coast guard, and the air force. It seems like I see commercials all the time about it. "Join the army and defend your country." I think that it is a good kind of propoganda though, because it encourages citizens to help out the country. We need people to fight for our country and the propoganda put out by the navy, army, and so on is for the better of us all. This shows that not all propoganda is necessarily bad, such as what Napolean uses, but can actually be used to promote positive things such as this. In my life right now, I could use propoganda to show that I should be able to have a later curfew. I am a good kid and have not done anything against my parents rules, so I should be able to stay out later. I could show how much I help out, how much I work at my grades, and so on.

Propaganda is used all the time to persuade people. It is seen very easily during presidential elections. Presidents and there running mates use propaganda to make be believe in what they are saying. Some use catchy slogans such as Obama's "We Believe" or "Yes we can". Obama was a very persuasive speeker and obviously helped him win the election. Many leaders are able to use propaganda to get there pupils to listen. Soon i will have to use propaganda to persuade my parents to pass me the car keys. I will have to them the positives of having a car and how i deserve it for being responsible.

A world leader that uses propaganda is barack obama. Obama comes to mind because when he ran for president he promised Change. He used this motto to defeat John Mccain. He got his way by winning the presidency. I think a lot of people bought onto this propaganda because the country is in bad shape. In his first 100 days all that seems to have changed is our debt. I wont get into that right now. I use propaganda all the time. I used it on my mom tonight by telling her that this car i want is perfect and it is better than any other weve looked at. I told her it is realiable and wont break dowm.

propaganda is widely used in many different occasions. especially in the presidental race, its widely used so they will have more votes and have more people that will most likely trust them. like at school when kids in our class were running for vice president, they say many things that we want to hear, this is more verbal propaganda. i cant really pick a person that did this, but the presidents do it, but some of them were brillant talkers and honest. but bush was saying of what i know/heard is that he said in iraq there was weapons of mass destruction, so that was a reason of us in war. anyways, i havent really seen propaganda but it is widely used. i could use propagana right now, i am a very good talker and responsible..and well trusted i most def, get want i want haha :]

During world war two there was a lot of propaganda for liberty bonds. These bonds where for the US goverment to fund the war, they were the ones that wanted the money. It was what they wanted, these propaganda helped the US win and fund the war. Many of these posters where the form of the propaganda, they said that things like "fight or buy liberty" things that told you that what you do was important. This feeling of that each act you do was very important for the propaganda to work well. Propaganda is used to make you change or insure a decison you may or may not work, sometimes its jsut a poster that makes the differnts. In about every war time propaganda was used to encourge people to enlist or to fund something.
Shaun Gerber
Propaganda can either be a good thing for someone or bad, depending on what it is for. Every four years we see propaganda when the presidential elections happen. Each candidate create commercials and ads saying why you should vote for them and saying why you shouldn't vote for their opponent. These ads are very useful in the election to, because once people get something in their head about someone its hard to get out, weather its good or bad. I could use propaganda to try and get my parents to allow me to do more things with friends. I could show them that I have never done anything to disobey their trust. And I am responsible in and out of school, i make good choices no matter who I am with and so on.

I believe I could use propaganda in order to get my parents to let me go to the mass concert this Saturday. :D Or is that the 'everyone else is doing it' technique? Heh heh.

Propaganda is a used a great amount in different situations. Its used all the time. Like when you see someone going for a certain position in a job and such. Or when people are running for president you see it on tv and other places. Even at our school all over the halls. You see it everywhere. Say like it i was running for class president or something to do with the school. i could put posters around the schools with information to vote for me.
I cant really think of a specific person in History who has used propaganda to get what they want. One i would think would fit in this description in Joe McCarthy in the 50's. This man claimed to all of America that he had lists of communists and he could tell us all of them. I think this man just wanted recognition, and fame. He wanted to be known as a hero so he used the most feared and popular topic of the time. To get something I wanted i could simply only list good qualities I have and expect to get something in return. Many people use this idea because well, it works. If you hear someone list things about them that are good, and its interesting to hear and see how much good qualities they have, they'll come back for more.
Mikki Nosek
Presidents use propaganda. They use it to make them look better. And say what they are going to do for our coutry. Propaganda is comericals on tv broadcasting something, to make the product be noticed. I used propaganda To get my parents to bu me a laptop. I showed them that it was more than me just wanting it to play games on it. It ended up working(: I could show my parents that i should be able to stay out later than on weekends 11:00. I would do this by showing them that they can trust me, and that i wouldnt do anything bad.
Obama is full of crap that used propoganda and false advertising to win. Maybe McCain would be just like Bush, but Obama said Change. There is no Change. It seems like everything he is trying to do isn't working. He did give the Big 3 loans, but i dont think its going to be enough in the end. He made America think he would be able to flip America around into someting amazing, when in reality every candidate says that. Every candidate wants society to think that they have what it takes to change america into something better. Propoganda is used to sugarcoat things, especially in Obamas case. He got amerca to believe him, then it feels like he doesnt live up to everything he said. Its disappointing, but what can we do. It's a little late now. If only people would not listen to the media, and the propoganda they say, and people really research the candidate. Not base heir opinions based on media.

Every four years you see many propagandas. From presidntial elections. Both side use the propaganda for advertising what they are going to do for the country. Some of the propagandas are for what they believe in. Also some of them are to tell something bad about there aponent. We also see them in army recruiting. You can see them for advertising on tv. Also on bilboards. You will see propagandas every where in america. You could use propaganda to get a good grade on something. Or you could use propaganda to make someone happy that is special in your life. Or many other things.
In history, one example of the use of propaganda would be when McCarhty said he had a list of communists that were in the government. The way he could just say he had a list of people and scare million would be getting his way. He kade everything up and never had proof but millions of people beleived him. In my own life i have used propaganda to get my way if i want to do something. Or if i want someone to do somthing for me i perswade them into it or make somthing up so they will do it. For instence if i want to go somewhere and my mom is about to say no i tell her what ive done for her and that i dont get the respect i should from her and she usually caves in and lets me do whatever. Using propaganda would be like proving something to someone by lieing or cheeting ur way through it. Propaganda is used everyday in our government. The presidents and legislatures lie everyday to get their way.

Every year at lakeland I see signs for homecoming all over the school. The idea is to make sure that everyone can see it so thry will buy tickets. They also say it at lunch and on the 3rd hour annoucments and the end of the day annoucements. I could put up signs that say that I am a really good babysitter. Then people would hire me and I would get the job. I think that it is a really good way to get what you want people to know. Even the newspaper gives propaganda. Also another good way is to use the TV. Almost everyone has a TV and I know that a lot of people have one. So ya.
Propaganda is used in everything. TV commercials, advertisements, billboards, newspaper, elections, etc. I think the Presidential Elections is where you see a lot of it. Presidential Candidates use propaganda to win your vote. They say what you want to hear, so that you will vote. Most of the time, 75% of the stuff they promise the country won't happen. TV commercials are used to lure customers to buy their products. In the commercials they make the product sound magical and make it seem you can't live without it. I could use propaganda to get a new golf club. I could convince my parents it is the latest and greatest and it will lower my score. We both know that its not the clubs that make you hit better, but at least it sounds good.

since i know my lifetime, and everything in it, a billion trillion tims better than what i will know when i was not born, i shall speak about propaganda; that we face every day. either you, or your parents, watch it every single day, and its all so biased.
The Media.
the mass media, that’s brain washing our minds, is the biggest legal propaganda ever established in any time period, ever ( that i can think of at the moment ). they can twist what they want to say, in any way possible. they can distort the facts, for the better; but in my opinion, they distort thing to far. Like with the H1N1 (swine) flu going around, everybody seems to be, and to sound like a great idol of mine, we are becoming nothing more than meat with eyes (Lewis Black), and we are just interpreting all of what we hear to be true. i can bet that 99.9999 infinity amount of people will never ask the media the real questions. people are putting the H1N1 flu way out of proportion. the media is freaking about, like it’s the end of the F***ing world. well, its not, we will get over it, and it will just be a thing of the past. there is no pandemic, there is no need to panic. but, they got one thing right. just be cautious of others who are sick, and just wash your hands, and yourself, more often.
if i wanted to, and this was a legitimately good idea, would be, to propogandize the fact that i am dying of an illness, and do so at one of michigans footballs games. so i go in there, set up a booth, put up a sign that says donate to my medical bills. i would just tell them i was painfully dying slowly. in return, if everyone there gave just a dollar, and it was a full crowd there, you would be instantly rich, with about 100,00$. and in the end, you would be dying of life. simply put, you could make others feel sympathetic for you, and you rake in the cash. now, if you can get past the fact that you lied to about 100,000 people, you would be fine. and if you did it ten times a year, well, shit, you'd be an instant millionaire.
Back during the world war the united states used propoganda like uncle Sam. This was used to get recruits into the militery and to promote the army. Also we see propoganda during the campaigning days during presidential elections. Each candidate tells about how great they are and how terrible the other person is. The candidates use propaganda by doing commercials and giving speeches to different groups. I would be able to use propoganda by talking to people and having them listen to me. People also like posters and this is also a good way to attract people. I could get people to listen to me by doing these things.
Propaganda, as I define, is an advertisement, revealing, or even often distorting the truth in order to make the opponent's idea negative, or theirs positive. For the characteristics of propaganda, it's been usually used in case of war or rebellion that requires to change people's mind and persuade them to follow the leader's idea. When America was on the way to leave off under Britain's protectorate, they told people how Britain's ruling over America is unfair and out of "common sense", like Thomas Payne said. Right now, when Tyler JackAs is sitting next to me looking at my blogging, annoying me, I can stand up and claim that Tyler's a vicious existence like a devil that everyone should ban him from the library, unless he'll move around the them and annoy them too.
My sister uses propaganda to get her way about everything. Family, friends, bf's you name it she uses it. I dont think or care if i got anything from anyone right now because honestly i dont care. I dont need or want anything. Well besides a car so i can get to work. But besides that im good.
