Day 24

How about a current event today? Make sure you read and do not do an event that someone else does. Give a short summary and then tell the effect on you, community or world. NO CITE, NO POINTS AND CITE MUST BE IN THE BLOG.

The article I chose is on Autism. As a mother sat in the waiting room at her son's pediatrician office. Her son was counting, then started to roar loudly like a lion. The mother smiled at her son while others looked horrified or annoyed. People don't truly udnerstand autism. My Aunt's nephew has autism. Until you have met someone with autism you have no clue how difficult it is to take care of him/her. My Aunt's brother and sister-in law spend countless hours with their son. Just liek Lennie, mental illness is difficult for all involved. The article explains this is the second World Autism Day and the search continues for a cure. Alan, my Aunt's newphew is a handful, but he deserves the patience & kindness of everyone around him. And if those people sitting in the pediatrician's office just spent one day with an autistic child maybe they would act a little differently.

I did my current event on the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown heralded the emergence of a "new world order" Thursday as the G-20 issued details of an "unprecedented" package of measures to tackle the global economic crisis. Obama called the deal "a turning point in our pursuit of global economic recovery." The deal agreed by the leaders of the world's largest economies included reform of the international banking system and the injection of more than $1 trillion into the world financial system. There had been concerns that a rift was opening up between the approach being championed by the U.S. and Britain more economic stimulus and that favored by France and Germany more banking regulations. The six-point plan includes banking reform measures and more than $1 trillion to be spent on restoring credit, growth and jobs. As well as measures clamping down on tax havens and a commitment to build a green and sustainable economy. Much of the G-20 communique issued at the end of the London summit restated promises and goals that international leaders had made earlier.

Since the whole thing that is going on in Mexico is big talk right now ive decided to do my current event on that. In Mexico City, they arrested Vicente Carrillo Leyva on Thursday. He was one of the leaders of the drug cartel. Federal officials offered a reward of up to 30 million pesos (2.16 million) in late March for information leading to the arrest of Carrillo Leyva. The same reward has been offered for Carrillo Leyva's uncle. His name was Cartel leader Vicente Carrillo Fuentes, also known as "El Viceroy" and "El General." In addition, $2 million rewards were offered for another 22 leading cartel suspects. The Mexican military also arrested the son of a top drug cartel lieutenant that same week. This has an effect on me, because i know my sister was going to Mexico for spring break, but since this is all happening right now, my parents wouldnt let her go.

Today I am going to write about the drug wars in Mexico. Today the Mexican police have arrested Vicente Carrillo Leyva, one of the countries most wanted drug traffickers. He is believed to be the deputy leader of the Juarez cartel. He is also accused of money laundering and cocaine smuggling. Carrillo Leyva was living in a wealthy suburb under a false name, and told people he worked as a businessman when asked. He was arrested in front of his home in Mexico City exercising. Another suspected cartel figure, Hector Huerta Rios, was arrested on 25 March in the northern city of Monterrey. In the last two years, 8,000 people have died in a fight to gain territory. This is an imporatant issue in our community for two reasons. First, Spring Break is coming up and many people are taking vacations down to Mexico. Students are going by themselves, and at a time like this that is very dangerous. Also, Americans are a main reason why the drug wars are occurring in Mexico. Our demand for drugs is fueling the Mexican nation into this war. It also has an effect on the community in Mexico because so many people are dying, some innocent and some not.

This is a progress report on Obama with the presidency. It's currently 100 days since his inauguration as president. A faltering economy was left at his door step and there was many things he could have done. There was also the war and other domestic and international challenges. He came running into the Whitehouse head first with soo many promises. Well one of the first things he did was a stimulus (which is a bad idea in my opinion. And...that's it...

It was a crappy article.

Mr.Kay,
For my blog tonight i want to talk about an article i found on the cnn website about ADHD paitents and the way their brain develops. When i read this article i learned that people who have ADHD develop at a slower pace then the average child. Not that they don't develop the same ways, it just takes them longer. My main reason for reading this is because my brother has ADHD and sometimes he can get really annoying. But, i understand it's not really his fault and he may have a harder time contoling himself. What really bothers me though is the fact that some people can't understand that. My mom get's mad at him all the time becasue he wont pay attention or he won't slow down as she says. I guess she really dosnt get that he can't control it.

For my current event i'm going to write my about the closed session on the Cobo center issues are on hold. The Detroit City council failed to reach quorum and had a meeting to go into a closed session to talk about a lawsuit blocking the transfer of the Cobo center. Four of the eight members showed up for the meeting. They needed five to vote on Thrusday. A 288 doller million state plan to expand and trun the downtown convention center's operation over to a five-person committee was rejected by the council. The mayor vetoed there action and a Wanye County ciruit court judge has not ruled if the mayor has the authority to veto the council. I think if all the members were there to vote maybe the mayor would expand the building.

http://news.aol.com/article/missing-nebraska-family/410507

A family from Nebraska went missing about two weeks ago. Authorities say they were interviewed about allegations of abuse on the day they were last seen. Also, their car was found in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They were last seen March 20 at their home in Creighton, Nebraska.

This makes me wonder how there neighbors will react to this. It seems kinda weird that they would just up and dissapear like that. Especially on the same day that they were interviewed about allegations of abuse. Now that just makes it seem rather suspicious.

This article is about how a german nazi guard that has been living in america, is being deported back to germany. He was a guard at Sobibor, and is accused for 29,000 counts of murder. He has had a warrent out for him arrest. He was finally arrested and the case went to the supreme court. Once he is in germany, the munich police will decide what to do with him. This makes me realize that america needs to open its eyes. The people around us could be someone like him. He was a citizen here, and no one knew that he was accused of helping murder 29,000 people during he holocaust. Its a scary thought that we have these people walking around in our society today.

Mike Vick has decided to work in the real world like nearly every other American does. Once he gets out of prison for his dog-fighting crime, he plans on working at a construction site. He is completely bankrupt and completely disgraced by the American people. I think this pertains to the real world because it shows, no matter how hard of a fall he took, he can still get his life back on track. He really is trying to learn from this mistake because now he knows that he is not above the law. He wants to earn an honest living by doing something that will help the community because it seems like he does care now. He is finally doing something for other people and not just for himself. He may not see it this way but I think he will gain so much more respect this way. Micheal Vick has a sheart and I think he has finally found it.

It seems that most searchers are FEMALE, and are most devious.
A popular scearch title was "april fools day pranks for co-workers" or "office april fools day pranks".

For my blog i a, going to talk about what i found the U.S. said to North Korea. First of all North Korea has missiles ready to launch at us. So the U.S. just said "Don't launch your missiles". To me this is saying a couple of things. One would we not be ready if they did fire the missiles at us. That just scares me becasue we are suppose to be the most powerful country and we wouldn't even be ready for this. Also, why right now is North Korea threanting us. Did we do something wrong, probably and we don't know how to rebound from it or what. There are many questions that can be acked mostly ones that are scary when you think about it.

School officials in Flint Michagan say that about 257 teachers are going to be released. That's about a fifth of the school's district teachers, that will be laid off by the end of the school year. The Flint Journal says that some teachers may come back if the school's district's finances improve. Although Superintendent: Linda Thompson, said that fewer teachers may be called back, than before. It is said that the district is trying to close a budget deficit estimated at least $20 million dollars. Out of the 257 teachers to be let go, half of them are from elementary schools. That's 116 more teachers than previously.

Reciently researchers have found new ways of charging longer lasting batteries much quicker. These batteries would also mean that they would be smaller a lighter. These scientists have found new ways to charge the lithium ion batteries. The material lithium iron phosphate, a material in the lithium battery, has special properties that allow the ions to move much faster. Allowing it to charge much faster as well. Then in return it makes batteries much smaller. The because the charges would take only seconds instead of hours, you can have a smaller battery. In 2 to 3 years we will be able to charge our cellphones and laptops in seconds. Their will also be universal cellphone chargers for all phones. Each phone will have the same cell plugs. The rate technology is moving you better put your seat belt on.

Another big storm hit the south today in Missisipi. It actually caused a train to go off the tracks and strike a tree. It is reported right now that only one person has been sent to the hospital, which is good. Flood warnings as well as tornadoe watches are in effect. The train was headed from chicago to new Orleans with 71 passengers aboard. The other passeengers are to be put on charter buses and sent to their destinaton. Also, what was called a funnel was spotted in a nearby county destroying homes and power lines. It seems as if their are more world disasters by the day.

Recently there has been a big scare about a computer virus. It was released a while ago and has potentially infected millions of computers world wide. This virus was activated yesterday by its creator but not that many people have had any attacks by it yet. This computer virus is programmed to wait for commands. Its commands are to go through your computer and steal information that could be very important. Such as financial information and tracking keystrokes. It also has the potential to shutdown websites. Also the only computer operation system effected by this virus is any of the Windows operating systems.

He is said to arrive in Germany on Monday and will stay in Munich prison or clinic depending on his health. I think its good that 65 years after the Holocaust these people are still paying for their crimes. Many of these people got away with it but I am glad he got caught.

The article I read was about was how a jury ruled that the University of Colorado wrongly fired a professor who compared some September 11 victims to a Nazi. He says this in his controversial essay that was published in 2001, but did not gain attention until 2005. The professor's name is Ward Churchill and he has been given $1 in damages and a chance to get his job back. I think that this shows us a few things. First off, even when we may not mean to be hurtful when we write something, it can come across as it. Therefore, we need to be considerate of others, especially when what you say is going to become printed and others can see it. We can still give our opinions on topics, but we should be as respectful as we can be. Otherwise, there could be consequences, even farther down the road. It is good that Churchill is getting his job back though, because he was simply using his freedom of speech. This will probably teach him a lesson about watching what you would say though. Respectfullness is key (and it could save you a few trips to the court).

I thought this was a big shock, I hope you don't see this as entertainment. A guy robbed a store at night shift with his little 9 year old daughter. He threatened to kill the clerk with a loaded weapon. He told the clerk how he lost his job and needs money for his daughter to survive. This guy was a heavy drinker but still loved his daughter. In 2007 his wife pulled a restraining order on him due to his abusive alchohol use. I think this is crazy because it shows how tough the economy is right now. If everything was normal he would have never put his daughter in this situation, because he would still have a job. This is a terrible loss because not only will it put the father in jail it will ruin his daughters life because she can't see him.

I did my blog on how the bill to raise tobaco prices has gone up. The House of Representatives passed a bill that would give the Food and Drug Administration to control the advertiusing and sale of tobacco products in the United States. The measure passed by a vote of 298-112. I think that this is a good thing that the government has started doing this. People need to quit smoking to me and many others it is a nasty habit. This law has raised the price of tobaco. I think that people may start to quit smooking because it cost to much to buy them. This will make their health better and the people's health around them will be better to.

I,m going to talk about the a mother of a conicvied murder, and how she went undercover to try to prove the trial was unfair. The mother wnet undercover, created a fake indentiy, to try to prove that a jury member should have not been a jury member. She went to great measueres to get him to talk, she befriended him and after a while asked about the trial, while wearing a wire. She says the son is wrongly concivted, but why not just file a repeal insteat of trying to convice someone that the trial was unfair. She is crazy and even the judge thougth so he said it was a invaion of pricivey and extraordinary misconduct on her part. It makes me sometimes dout to systemin which we live, if she is going to these measures. What she did was not her best option and she should regredt what she did, woking within the system is your best bet. Then if that fails i guess its ok to try to go around but its a last ditch try. If i was conicved when i was did nothing worng i would want someone trying to get me out of prison too.

I saw that obesity can shorten an average persons live span by 2 to 4 years. Someone who is very obese can shorten their life by 8 to 10. Its scary becasue a lot of people are over weight and it would be sad for them to pass away early. Obesity has something that has affected americans for a while. Their have been numerous efforts to help stop this trend, although we need to do a better job. Anyone can loose weight if they want too, it just takes mental toughness. America is one of the obese populations in the world, and we need to change that.

I read the article "Borger: Obama revolution goes one step too far". One thing in the article that caught my eye is that Obama is going to get rid of lobbyists in Washington. I actually think that this is a good thing because it takes an influence of powerful people. They, most of the time, make decisions that will help them, not America as a whole. Decisions that elected people want will actually be taken more into value. This means that laws that America needs will be passed. However, every once in a while lobbyists end up being a good thing. So this is probually a positive thing, however, may end up being negative.

Yet again I heard this on 97.1 THE TICKET. In dallas, a police officer pulled over Ryan Moats and his wife for speeding. The police officer was doing his job at that point, but when Ryan and his wife explained that his wifes mother was in the hospital dying, the officer would not allow them to leave. In fact, when Ryan said that they HAD to go immediately, the officer still wouldnt let them go. So, Ryan stayed in his car held at gunpoint by this officer. He told his wife to run to the hospital which was a little under a mile away. She just made it to see her mother die in the hospital, but in Ryans case he didnt get to see her last breathes. The officer apologized and also resigned following this incident. As you know Mr. Kay, I dont like cops very much, even though I am not involved with them. But this event proves my point that the police think that they have more power than they really have and abuse it.

The article I'm doing is about the house approving tobacco regulation bill. It won 298-112 and it was passed today. It doesn't ban tobacco, just lets the FDA make restrictions on how much can be sole, the ingredient labels, and advertising. The bill still has to go through the Senate before it can take effect. I think this is a good thing for everyone because cigarettes and smoking are bad. It isn't healthy for the people that smoke and also the people around them. Some smokers have little kids and thats horrible. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke so I hate when people are smoking right in front of me in public places. Its just gross and I think this bill will help.

Mr. Kay,
Today, I heard something that is pretty sad. I heard that the new X-men movie (Origins: Wolverine) was leaked onto the internet, though it is set to release in on May 1th. This means people are downloading this movie, over tens of thousands of times according to CNN, and potentially ruining the ticket sales of the movie when it comes out in theaters. The leaked version isn't even the final version either, it has missing effects, temporary soundtrack, and many other production missing. So that means the it might be hard to actually base an opinion on the movie, so for those downloading it, they might not like that version, though the final might be a lot better. But what am I getting at? I am saying that in these tough economic times,it might be hard to put out movies. Now in The Great Depression, I know that people used to resort to movies to escape the realities of depression. If these pirated and ruined movies are still getting out, then we won't have anything to resort to, making it hard on all of us. One of the most cherished things in my life is movies, and if those are gone during the depression, due to Lame-O's ruining ticket prices and downloading movies in production, then I won't know what to do. Many people will be lost and well have to resort to something stupid to escape the TET(tough economic times). So, I just can't stand it. Loss of school and food, no big deal, but not my movies. What's next, the TET will take away my skateboard. No Way Hose. But anyway, people should think that is they keep up what they are doing right now like that, then we might not have a whole lot of movies in the near future.

I hope this came close enough to relating it to the real world.

In the 1990, Michael George was convicted of murder for shooting his wife, in a Commerce Township comic store. George will being going back to court to, see after all these years, if the court finds him guilty, or if he won his case. What this should mean to not only me, but for citizens of Commerce Township, that even public places that we believe to be safe, isn't so safe. After reading this article it kind of scared me. Us, as people don't know what other people could be thinking, or what is wrong with them. We just naturally think that were safe everywhere we go, but were not safe everywhere. Today for example, some crazy guy approached me and Kristen at the mall, asking us a strange question, then when we answered he ran away. This incident really scared us, because we weren't thinking anything of anyone coming up to us and talking to us. In conclusion, everyone needs to be careful where they are going, for you never know what can happen. Just like Michael George killing his own wife, that was not expected.

Recently president Obama and the g-20 has come up with a plan to pump over $1 trillion into the economy. The article wasn't very specific on what the plan called for, but the way I interpreted it was that he is just going to hand out the money to banks and hope that it will stimulate the economy. However I belief if this is the case, severe inflation will arise. Any time you put more money in the economy the value of the dollar will decrease. That is why the united states cannot just print money to get out of it's debt. Inflation would effect everyone. Asthe price of the dollar goes down, we would have to work harder to earn money and buy everyday things. Obviously I don't think this plan is the right way to about his economic hardship. If he plan called for help for businesses or something like that I might support it, but I think just putting more money in the economy is not a very smart move.

I'm doing my current event blog on the stock market rise.On CNN.com I read about,The Dow Jones industrial average rose 216 points or 2.8%, according to early tallies. The Dow had risen as much as 314 points during the afternoon, topping 8,000 for the first time during a session since February 9th. The S&P 500 index gained 23 points, or 2.9%. The Nasdaq composite added 51 points, or 3.3%. This is very good for the United States because the stock market was doing really bad and everyone got worried about it. But since its going up and more companies are gaining stocks now, it could help the United States recession. Many companies gained stocks such as Bank of America, IBM and McDonald's. I think that the rise of the stock market is a very good thing for the United States.

My source is http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/04/01/tech.viruses/index.html. On April Fool's Day a computer virus was launched on Wednesday but so far has not caused problems for the millions of computers that are believed to be infected. Security experts fear the author of the malicious computer program essentially could do anything with those Windows-based machines. No attempts by the author to upload anything had been noted as of 8 p.m. ET Wednesday.
A virus affects everyone that gets one. They can crash the hard drive and other things that could happen. I don’t understand why someone would waste their time on making a virus so that it messes up a persons computer.

THis week Donte Stallworth was charged for manslaughter as well as a DUI. Last month Cleveland Brown receiver Donte Stallworth hit a pedestrian in Miami, Florida. Donte Stallworth hit a man crossing the street while he was driving his Bentley and was under the influence. His bail was set at 200000 and will likely not be able to return to his football team. I think it is a shame that professional athletes make mistakes like this. Younger people look up to them as role models. Year after year they find ways to make themselves and the sport they play stupid.

These mother and son sending text messages to kill there father/ husband. The boy stabbed his father 15 times. the father jason pinkerton is healing in a unknown location. He keeps his place unknown because he is so scared. The wife of jason supposedly had already had a 2nd degree murder on her plate. Killing her stepmother with a pillow smothering her until her death. So really all i have to say is WTF. Some of these people need to get off the streets and need to be put in a sichiatric wad or something. Only because those kinds of things are just horrible. Or they can just lock the lady up in the slammer and forget about her. Just lose the keys is what ide say.

Keira's Shocking Abuse Campaign

this article was about Keira Nightly reacting on the Chris Brown and Rihanna situation. she mad a short clip about abuse. it was very real and sad that people actually act like that. we dont know exactly what happened and why Chris and Rihanna got into a fight. however, we a can try to prevent things like this from happeneing. some people take sides with one of them but i would put the blame on both of them. we can learn that you might not always know a person like you thought you did and to be careful.

my current event, is me.
here the scoop as to why i am going through a rough time.

it was recently brought to my attention, by my sister, that people who i thought were my friends, really turned out not being so. and to, when someone lied about me, and to me behind my back, for i dont know how long; it make me not only not believe them, and not even to believe others, but it make me just think how much of everything right now in my life, is a fake, how much of it is a show put on for them, for the people who i thought were my friends. Right now, i am in a sense of shock, that people would lie to me, and for over a year!? right now, its hard to tell what is the truth, the reality we are living in, from the Fake people put on for their amusement. at this point, i am just at a shear loss of words, because to me, it goes against everything i have ever learned. To be honest, to not talk about others while they arent there to hear it, or even just the common curtsey to tell people, that you dont like them. I guess, putting in the words that make sense to me, that i am essential rebuilding the thought pattern that is trust.
I dont think anyones out to get me, or that anyone has it in for me, but my perception of the skin deep things we hear and see, will truly be altered forever for me. so although the situation is bad, probably worse than i will ever know, unfortunately, Its a blessing in disguise, that i need to rebuild the way i look upon people, what i can ask of them, and the trust level i truly have of them.

I hope one day though, that people of the human race will get the fact that no one should ever go out of their way to do evil.

but, stupid is as stupid does, and the world will perpetually always stay like this, but the best we can ever hope for is that you can craft a community of those around you, who you care for, have the compassion to put them ahead of you when they need it, and of people who you can not only trust with the most serious of matters, but also for them to not go behind your back and tell your darkest secrets. So as long as one can strive for the right place of people they want to be in, life can be one step closer to the perfection we always seek, but inevitably know will never get. As long as we strive for that which is unobtainable, we will always have a goal that we are always looking forward to accomplishing.

the source is, well, Me, Nicholas Andrew Visger, and i would be more than happy to tell my life stories about great lessons i have learned.

and i leave with a quote which means all to much to me right now;

"I Have Tried So Hard To Do Right" - President George Mckinley

the current event i have chosen to write about is a tornado that struck in Tennessee. the tornado killed 2 people and injured 41. obviously this doesn't apply the majority of citizens in our area. but i think that it is important to realize how lucky we are. Many homes and buildings and parts of central Tennessee were destroyed. i think that it's important that we still reach out and help others in need, even if we dont know them. i think that yes, you are less motivated to step forward and give help to those in need, but you need to try and be empathetic. if a part of the country is in a crisis we should all be running to help.

How about a current event today? Make sure you read and do not do an event that someone else does. Give a short summary and then tell the effect on you, community or world. NO CITE, NO POINTS AND CITE MUST BE IN THE BLOG.

I am choosing to write my current event blog on the death of nick adenhart, something i saw on http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/04/10/california.pitcher.killed/index.html. Nick was a star rookie pitcher for the LA Angels. He was just off a memorable night by throwing 6 scoreless innings in one of his biggest big leaugue start. He was a passenger in a car at 6am when he was killed by a drunk driver. The driver is now being charged with murder. The angels cancelled their game for the next day and a providing conselors at alll times for the players for a while. The whole community and sport have been very helpful and have been providing the family with some comfort, even though thats so hard. This is something that i can never imagining happening to myself, and i dont know how someone could ever recover from this. FRIENDS DONT LET FRIENDS DRIVE DRUNK.

Today i am choosing to write about a passenger landing a plane when a pilot suddenly dies. The plane was flying from March Island and landed about 18 miles away from Naples, Florida. The flight was the same as any other when a voice came over the speaker that had told passengers that the pilot was unconscious and needed help. The man who helped land the plane was only certified in a single engine plane and had never flown a king air. While other passengers helped the man through flipping the switches and running things he landed them safely on the first try toward ft. Myers. I picked this article to write about because it seems that today more and more americans are doing there part to help. I think this story is a really good example of what putting in effort can really do. He landed a plane full of citizens safely, people are calling it a true Easter miracle.
