Swine Flu cases; child dies in Texas. There has been an outbreak of the swine flu. So far it has spread over 10 states, including the U.S. The center for diseases fear it has potential of becoming a pandemic. This is very scary, because some the treatments are becoming resistance to the new strains of diseases. You see on the news, people wearing masks over their faces to try and protect themselves. The child that died was from Mexico and was seeking treatment in Texas. I think we have only seen the beginning of what this disease is going to havoc on many people. This virus has never been seen before and it's spreads from human to human. So far there has been 7 deaths in Mexico and one in the U.S. We all have to make sure we take all precautions in health safety, #1 wash your hands thoroughly.

The story I picked is the mom who made her kids get out of the car because they were arguing. She circles around the block and when she came back her two daughters were missing. One of them was found so the mom called the police to report a missing child. They found her with someone who had bought her icecream and was returning her. They went to the station and the mom was arrested for potential child endangerment and had to spend the night in jail. This is causing a lot of debate between people. When people first heard about it they were very critical of her but then stories came up of moms who had done the same thing and supported her. They said the kids have to learn the lesson but I think if she was going to make them get out then she should have followed them with the car and made sure that it was safe. It connects to the world because its not always a safe place for kids to be left alone. Something bad could have happened so from that people can learn to control their emotions.

North Korea warned today it will fire an intercontinental ballistic missle if the U.N. does not apologize. They also warned they may conduct another nuclear test as well. This started after the troubles they had from the U.N. April 5th. The U.N. states North Korea is just putting themselves in further isolation. I think this is potentialy dangerouse. North Korea having the ability to get a Nuclear ballistic missle to Alaska. The U.N. wants to stop any further action from North Korea, and be peacfull about it. I think the U.N. owes no apology because North Korea is breaking there terms of agreement with them. If anything the U.N. needs to strengthen there control over that communist country.

Mr.Kay,
For my blog tonight i want to talk about a article i found on the 7 action news website. This article was talking about pharmicudical drugs that had gotten into the detriot water system. So in order to see if the water was infected they tested the water and everything seemed to come out clear. In my opinion this could be very dangerous. Even if it's a small pain killer becasue if you drink alot of water from your water thats infected you would be getting alot of this drug. I think the main thing people need to do to prevent this from happining is to not flush/drain your medicine down the drains.

My current event will be about the fiat to sign deal with chrysler. In detroit three people briefed on the deal. Saying that the italian automaker fiat group SpA will sign the paperwork by Thrusday to become partners with chrysler. To keep chrysler alive the partnership is the last thing for a huge restructuring plan. The government lent chrysler four
billion dollers until Thrusday to get concessions from unions. The united auto workers union is expected to ratify a cost cutting contract Wednesday night. Also, major banks agreed to reduce chryslers debt. I think that their signing to a partnership because of the economy and not alot of people are buying cars because of the economy so their losing money.

Missing Girl... On spring break for one girl, who left for Myrtle Beach, went missing on Saturday. No one has been in contact with this girl and there is nothing people have found out yet. She was called as an easy target because of her emotional issues and she was probably kidnapped. This relates to my life in the sense that I hate having to constantly look over my shoulder. People, mainly children, are constantly being abducted and taken away. I know the spring break craze is all well and good but I don't think I should go so far away that I could get taken away. I really am afraid of being taken away. I feel really bad for this girl and her family because they have no idea what is going on right now. There are no leads and no evidence. Society is continuing to get worse and worse and the people who are doing this to others should really be killed. They are only making matters worse and no one deserves this. People need to be much more humane.

WARGH!! House of representatives approved $3.44 trillion budget resolution. 2010 is when it will start and it's approving most of President Obama's key spending priorities and setting the federal government in a new direction with major increases for energy, education and health care programs. Most democrats favored it but no republican liked it. Republican's didn't like it because according to them it takes way too much taxing and that would leave the country in a more fiscally precarious position.

"Budgets are supposed to be about tough decisions, and there are no tough decisions in this budget," said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio.

I'm not quite sure about Obama's economy plan. For 1, I don't know much about the economy. If you remember my last current event blog(or I think the last one), his first 100 days in office was a little...lacking. I'm quite ashamed of myself because all I can do is rub my chin and raise an eyebrow. Also bang my head against my desk if congress is fighting over economy policies. Why can't we all just hire some(or all/most) economist and see what they say?

Mr. Kay,

My current event is going to be on the current Swine Flu panidemic that has recently spread to two people in Michigan already. (www.wxyz.com) A 34 year-old women returning by car from her vaction in Texas has a probable case of the Swine Flu. She was recently released from Kent County Hospital, the doctors are waiting for the return of the test to see if she is positive for the flu. People are being urged to wash their hands frequently, and to cough into their sleeves or into their arms. The ordinary human flu is held accountable for 36,000 deaths each year. Its is told that Michigan has stock pilled 1 million doses of Tamiflu; an anti-viral medication, with another 250,000 doses on the way.

My current event is on the swine flew. Today the Geneva-based Wolrd Health Organization raised it's alert level because of the swine flew. Which is signaling a global pandemic could be imminent. The virus has spread to at least 10 U.S. states from coast to coast and swept deeper into Europe. Obama has suggested that further school closings may be necessary.

I think this is really serious. People die from this disease and i'm glad Obama's thinking of further school closings. Not just because I may get out of school, but because it will help keep the virus from spreading.

Today I got my current event from the Oakland Press. There was recently a public hearing to discuss where the medical marijuana can be grown in this state. The city officials want to prevent the marijuana from being grown in large numbers inside people's homes, but instead to set up a shop in a general business district. Registered primary caregivers can grow twelve plants, each for up to five qualified Michigan patients. Royal Oak is one of the first places being looked at by the Plan Commission to carry out this. The decision will take place on May 12. Also, n Friday, the state issued the first medical marijuana ID cards to 150 qualified patients. It will be very interesting of what becomes of this. It sounds kind of crazy that they are setting up buildings to grow pot. This effects the area around us because it could end well or poorly. The medical marijuana can help people cope with their illnesses or it could create a larger problem. As of right now, we will have to wait and see.

For my current event i chose the car bombing in Baghdad. Six car bombings in four hours killed 48 people and wounded 81 in various Baghdad neighborhoods. This happended Wednesday, according to Iraq's Interior Ministry. In a separate incident, five people were killed and three wounded by a roadside bomb south of Baghdad, a ministry official said. Three other car bombings followed. Two of those, outside a Shiite mosque in the Hurriya district of northern Baghdad, killed three people and wounded eight. So far this month, 15 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, compared to nine in March. This article didnt really connect to me in any way, but it connects to america. Because, i know peoples realtives in iraq right now, and what a tough time they are going through.

There was a priest in Florida who was assaulted by a woman in a confessional. As Rev. Massor was preparing to hear her confession he was stabbed twice in the back. The whole reason behind the stabbing was the woman thought he was the Antichrist. What surprises me is how someone gets an idea like that in their head. It also surprised me that he was able to forgive her so easily. After the Rev. was stabbed he was also safely able to drive to the hospital and get help. After getting treatment he was able to pick the women out no problem form the crowd he remembered her from her husbands funeral. This women also broke part of a statute at another church.

I found my article titled, "Gays would get new protections under House bill" by Larry Margask, on The Associated Press. Congress revived and expanded a hate crimes bill and it was passed in the House today. It says that hate crimes, as defined by the bill are, "those motivated by prejudice and based on someone's race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability." There are a recorded 926 hate groups in 2008, compared to 602 in 2000. The bill would provide financial help to state and local authorites with grants for investigation and prosecution of hate crimes. I think that this bill will help others who are victims of hate crimes. Nobody deserves to be treated unfairly when they haven't done anything in the first place. It's good to know that our government still cares about discrimination and prejudice issues while we have all of these economic issues at hand. They are not focusing all the government's money on reboosting the economy, they are also trying to remember to protect the citizens and their well-being.

Two NYPD police officers were accused of raping a drunk woman. Kenneth Moreno was called to help the drunken lady, and he ended up raping her while his partner, Franklin Mata, was on look out. Both denied the charges and they both have been suspended from duty. I don't understand the thought process of people like this. You joined the police department to help the citizens of the U.S. They end up raping a drunk woman. Its sad that you can't even trust the police anymore. It's people like this that need to be put in jail and should be banned from ever working for the government again.

Ok, so I am going to do my blog on the current even of Obama's "spending cuts." Appearently he asked his Cabinet to sit down with him and come up with $100 million in spending cuts over the next 90 days. This all sounds good right? Wrong - while that sounds like a lot, it is a rediculusly small amount compared to the amount his budget plan is putting the country in debt. That's our hard earned tax money going to "work." He thinks he can save each person like 3 dollars, and that is just not enough when he is driving up energy and other costs. This picture puts the whole thing into perspective:

http://blog.heritage.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/obamacuts.jpg

Obviously, this is a rediculously small amount compared to the planned budget, and frankly, I think it is quite funny! Take a look at the small dot at the top of the screen! Overall, I think our country is headed in the wrong direction and I think our tax money is being wasted on unnecessesary programs.

The main thing that i have seen on the news is the swine flu(http://www.clickondetroit.com/health/19322954/detail.html). Its makeing me sick. Now, the US is making it a level 5 pandemic. This is only one step behind the full fleged pandemic. I think that were making this way too much of a big deal. My mom, who works at a hospital said that its the same as the flu, you just have to get on it instead of "letting it pass". She said that if you take this one thing that it will kills any chance that you could have it. I have seen so many people taking such drastic measures. I just dont think its necessesary for people to do all of this when it could have been along for a much longer time. I really wonder what else there is out there, this may not be what we should be stressing about.

Today i am going to talk about the Nuclear Disarming and how Japen is leading the world in this action. The aricle talks about how japan is very active in the United Nations and how it is the leading country to Disarmment. I think this is kinda werid beacause they are i belive the only county to see the force of the Atomic Bomb. But instead of making one for them self now that they have the money, they are not building any, but doing the opposite. I guess since they have seen its effects first hand they would want to prevent anything like it from happening again. If i had goten bombed and lived through it and saw its efects i guess i would have to agree, but i would only give up my wepones if everyone eles gave up their's. Thats the problem with our world, if someone is better than you or stronger you make more or better to be #1. I have no promblem with atomic bombs, but its using them i have the problem with, that is what kills people. Right now if someone droped an atomic bomb, and started a nuclear war, where would be be then? There is always two sides to any story, and this is one of those topic's.

So today i will talk about something that is related to sports. So as you probably know, the lions took Matthew Stafford as their first pick in the 2009 NFL draft. But before they took him is what caught my attention. They made a deal that was about 41 million dollars and potentially worth 73 million. My question is how are we paying someone that much money to play a sport. I am not deniying that he should et money but really 73 for neverplaying in the NFL and let alone with todays economy. That is unreal, thats the most bull crap thing i have heard. Poeple can't even buy food or live in a house because they can't make money or get a job and to entertain people and just throw a football and look goodin front of cameras. Come on this is why we get a good economy going becasue we pey people millions of dollars to do what, look good buy a 20 million dollar house. This frustrates me so bad becasue a know people that can't even go out to eat or anything becasue of this economy. IF you can't tell i am really pissed off becasuea of this.

Four men are walking free after the killing of prime minister Rafik Hariri. The four men were Jamil Sayyed, Ali Hajj, Raymond Azar, and Mustafa Hamdan. They had been arrested after a coalition Led by Hariris son. After the assination the men swept to power. However the men had been freed do to insufficient evidence. Although the U.N. Tribunal is investigating the killing further. This to me was an interesting article, because it truly shows what people will do for power. The risks they take to be able to lead.

For my current event, I'm going to be talking about a missing girl happening in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this spring break. First off, this 17 year old girl, named Brittanee Marie Drexel, didn't even have her mom's okay for this spring break. Her mom thought she was at a beach in New York, not South Carolina. She was reported missing, and was last spotted Sunday at a restaurant, says the police. She has not been heard from since, even after her mom told her to call her later Saturday evening. This proves that you can never be so sure that your safe. Especially on spring break, this is the "hot spot" for kidnappings, rapings, and other horrible happenings. This spring break, I did go somewhere though. I went on a cruise to Mexico and Belize, with my mom, brother and his friend Rob. Although, the areas we were in were all tourists areas, though when we traveled out of town for shore excursions, it was not the same. You always have to be careful whenever traveling, anywhere. Just not on spring break, Florida, Mexico, or South Carolina, be careful everywhere. There are crazy people out there. This scares me greatly, I don't even like thinking about this, but I start to scare myself. You rather be safe then sorry.

My blog is about the scientists who spotted a 13 billion year old gamma ray burts, from a star that was exploding. Edo Berger got an alert early last Thursday morning when a satellite detected a 10-second blast of energy known as a gamma ray burst coming from outer space.
Telescopes around the world swiveled to focus on the explosion, soon picking up infrared radiation, which is produced after gamma rays in this kind of event. Berger was ready to view the visible light, which should have followed. It never arrived. What it meant was that he was looking at the oldest thing ever spotted -- an enormous star exploding 13 billion years ago. "At that point the age of the universe was only 600 million years," he said. In other words, Berger said, he was looking "95 percent of the way back to the beginning of time." The star which exploded was 30 to 100 times larger than our own sun, and when it died, it gave off "about million times the amount of energy the sun will release in its entire lifetime," Its death throes produced so much energy that "momentarily, we can essentially see it anywhere in the universe," The gamma ray burst extended the frontiers of human knowledge about the history of the universe.
We learn that already massive stars were around 600 million years after the universe formed," Berger said. "We suspected that, but now we have proof. Now that we know these objects are so bright, in the next few years we should be able to pinpoint exactly at what stage in the evolution of the universe stars and galaxies formed. The gamma radiation from GRB 090423, which took 13 billion years to reach earth, was detected by a NASA satellite called Swift. The infrared radiation was detected by the Gemini Observatory in Hawaii.
I am fasinated by this. This could tell us how the universe and planets were formed. Then to even findin out life on planets. That is so awesome. I wish i could be anastronount, but i don't want to get killed up in space. Haha.

This article was basically about how there were 6 car bombings in four hours. Many were killed and 81 were wounded. This is a reminder to US citizens that we are still in a war. Also, that many of our soldiers are still being deployed and are being killed. It seems like america is so wrapped up in many other things, when the war is what should be taken care of first. Car bombings are something that are very common in the middle east. It's too bad that our innocent soldiers have to go die because of...stupid peoples' decisions. If only the would could have peace and not fight and there be no war.

Recently I watched a segment from E-60 on ESPN entitled "Super Freak". The segment explains how steroids ruined his life. Gregg Valentino was a normal human being until steroids became his life. He was a proud father and a rising body building star. But the strive to be the best got him addicted to steroids. He was taking 40 times the amount of testosterone the normal male makes in a week. When his gym was not making enough money he began selling the steroids. In 2001 he was arrested for illegal distributing steroids. Not only did he hurt his family he also hurt his body. This extreme use of steroid literally transformed his body into a walking side effect. The insane steroid abuse made his children embarrassed to be around him. His oldest son hasn't seen him in almost 15 years. But it wasn't until his 11 year old daughter saw a health video showing him as an example of steroid abuse when he had an epiphany. This crushed Gregg and he has since quit using and being around steroids. Now his family and body are in better condition then when he was using. Morale of the story people can fight back from great deficits if they want it bad enough.

The story I picked told that there were 6 car bombings in four hours. These killed 48 and wounded 81. This is extremely scary because it doesn't seem like the war is getting better. It would be awful to live Iraq because you probually never feel safe at any time. I know that in the end the war would probually be worth it, but this war seems to be dragging out. I believe that, for citizens of Iraq's safety, they should become more strict. This means do more car checks and questioning more people. This cannot be safe for the soldiers there either. So it's not just that particual country that is being effected by these dangerous acts, but US too.

At http://www.comcast.net/articles/news-general/20090429/ML.Egypt.Swine.Flu/ in Egypt has orders slaughter of all pigs over swine flu. Egypt began slaughtering roughly 300,000 pigs in the country as a precaution against swine flu even though no cases have been reported here. Infuriating farmers about the killing of the pigs, who blocked streets and stoned vehicles of Health Ministry workers who came to carry out the government's order. The measure was a stark expression of the panic the deadly outbreak is spreading around the world, especially in poor countries with weak public health systems.
Egypt responded similarly a few years ago to an outbreak of bird flu, which is endemic to the country and has killed two dozen people. Egypt was among the countries hardest hit. According to the World Health Organization, it has the world's fourth highest death toll — after Indonesia, Vietnam and China — and the largest outside of Asia. WHO has confirmed 23 deaths in Egypt and Egyptian authorities have reported three more deaths in recent weeks. Chickens used to roam every dusty street in every village across Egypt, and many of its city alleys too. But when the disease first appeared here in February 2006, 25 million birds were killed within weeks, devastating the poultry sector and particularly the family farmers. Chickens nearly all vanished from sight, slaughtered, abandoned or locked away by a population increasingly aware of, and frightened by, the disease's stubborn grip. The swine flu appeared designed to avert a similar panic.
Angry farmers demanded compensation and provincial governors paid them around 1,000 Egyptian pounds (about $180) per head. The farmers asked for an official government decision to set a price for each pig slaughtered. Agriculture Minister Amin Abaza told reporters that farmers would be allowed to sell the pork meat so there would be no need for compensation.

In Egypt, pigs are raised and consumed mainly by the Christian minority, which some estimates put at 10 percent of the population. Health Ministry spokesman Abdel-Rahman Shaheen estimated there are between 300,000-350,000 pigs in Egypt. Most in the Muslim world consider pigs unclean animals and do not eat pork because of religious restrictions.

There are some problems with killing of all of the pigs. First, only the pigs that have the swine flu should be killed because they are the ones that carry the virus that could mutate. Second, instead of the government compensating for the pigs the Agriculture Minister would like the farmers to sell the meat. Since, only 10% of the people in Egypt eat pork the market would be flooded and the price would drop so the farmers will not benefit from selling the meat. Finally a good way to prevent the swine flu is to wash your hands, cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing, wear a mask if you want, and have good hygiene. Granted, slaughtering the pigs would give people a better sense of security because they don’t want a repeat of what happened with the bird flu, but this method is extreme.

I just do not understand who in thier right mind would ever want to kidnapp somebody. With all of the great detectives these days, your eventually going to be caught.
On the other hand, i feel the young girl also made a very bad mistake of traveling to myrtle beach alone with out her parents approval or even knowledge. Its very hard to say but it is true, Carma is a bitch.

Stocks were higher as investors look to bright spots in a report on weaker-than-expected economic output for the first three months of the year. This event effects me and the other people in the nation because I am sure everybody is getting tired of the bad economy. Lots of people are losing their jobs and homes becasue of this and now it is starting to turn around a bit. For my article I am going to do a story that relates to terrorism. A Taliban leader has instructed fighters in Afghanistan to target U.S. This is because the United States is sending more troops into the war. They also warned Afghans to not get "near U.S. troops anywhere because we will target them any where they are and if anybody is killed in a attack on them we will not be responsible for their death." Obama approved sending 4,000 additional troops to Afghanistan and pledged to send 17,000 more. I think that terriorim is getting a bit stupid. I don't get why this people think that killing is the right thing. I think that it is ok that omoma is sending in more troops. This needs to be stoped. Although more americans may loose their lives the are fighting for a good cause.

My current event in on Obama denying the torturing of terrorists for information. This appealed to me because it was what we were talking about in class today. Whether using force or diplomacy was the right choice. there are many people who believe tortring should be allowed to obtain useful information. But diplomacy will work and other ways to obtain information that isn't violent. I hope in time we will realize which method is more effective and use it. Im not sure which method i agree with more. I dont believe in using force but i think sometimes, in serious situations, the need to escalate to violence is plausible and understandable.

Mr. Kay,
Today on the Freep, I read about an awesome recycle program that was started in Rochester Hills. It is based sort of around a rewards system. The more you recycle, the more you will gain. The mayors say its a Win-Win situation. See, the environment will be better, and people wont be not want to recycle. With rewards coming their way, they get to want to recycle. This affects me because this makes people want to help the environment, which helps me. The more air I can breathe, the more trees I can smell, the more Earth there is, the happier everyone/ I am. Also they are collecting things like colored glass and cardboard. This means that the objects these people never were able to recycle can be so they don't harm the Earth. I just think this will start making people want to recycle making it a better Earth for us and our children, and our childrens' children. Westland said they will soon be starting this so it shows that it is spreading, thankfully. Well I guess I am just happy people are helping the Earth anyway they can, even if it means giving them and incentive.

Mr. Kay,

Today I am going to write about the ''Craiglist Killer". This man is a cold blooded killer that uses an online shopping place to kill people. Craigslist is just like an eBAY. He has been talking to sellers on thios sight of certain projects and acting very interested in them. He says that he will meet up with them and purchase the product. But, in reality, he has many other things on his mind. He has killed numerous people using these means. This just shows us that the internet is a great thing, but has many negatives that go along with it.

Their are many new iPhones coming out soon from many other companies. The new latest and greatest iPhone would be the iPhone light. The iPhone has been a successful hit resulting in 3.79 million iPhones sold in the past quarter. Many people are spreading rumors on a new Apple Tablet. Coming soon Verizon will be selling the iPhone in their stores next fall. Now for me this is big. Its cool to think about how industrialized the technology industry is becoming. Their will be no end to technology as long as humans are able to think. It will continue to revolutionize the way we think and live our lives. I am hoping that this technology will go towards helping people other than causing utter destruction.

Lungs Of Steel: Meet The Newest 'Britain's Got Talent' Sensation

this was about a little ten year old girl on Britian's Got Talent. this girl was discovered on the show like Susan Boyle was. the judges also weren't expecting her to sing like she did. after she started the judges were just amazed and said they never expected it. one of them comments how he thought she was just another ordinary girl who sang because of her plain ballerina outfit but was completley wrong. that goes to show you again to not judge a book by its cover. sometimes i judge people or things and after awhile relize i shouldn't. most of the time they prove me wrong and turn out to be something totally different.

The mother of a 17-year-old Rochester, New York, high school student who vanished over the weekend on spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Brittanee was not given permission to go. She told her mom that she was at the beach, and her mom thought she meant the one where she lives. and was reportd missing. This story shows that you should always get permission by a parent to go somewhere, and let them know where you are. Because anything can happen. When your not even expecting it.

On may 4 2007 there was a monster tornado that came through in kansas. The people that lived there were left devastated. But sadily 11 people died, but not many but only a few. After the tornado comes through the town was rebuilt but in a green way. the town is a green town now its better for the eviroment. I think this is good because it will help the effortd to help the planet out and not to be in bad conditions. This effort could also help slow the production of greenhouse gases as well.

There have been many sightings of mountain lions in michigan. The mountain lions have a range of 300 miles and they are spotted a lot closer to our area than that. This is bad because it puts a top level predator in our society. The mountain lions are know to kill people and farm animals. This is bad because if people die it's never good, and some people live on farms and can't afford to lose animals. This is really bad for people that like to go hiking because mountain lions could be anywhere and they are hungry. Reports of lions 7 ft and bigger have been recorded. Humans could be knocked down a knotch on the food chain in our society if these animals start to breed in our area.

I'm going to write about the 48 killings in a 4 hour period in and near Baghdad,Iraq. It says on CNN.com that there were numerous car bombings and in those bombings there were 48 killings. I don't understand why someone would have bombs attached to cars. They say that all the bombings were Iraq civilians. They said even with these bombings March's death toll is the lowest since 2003. Personally, I don't get why soldiers would bomb cars and kill innocent people. We are dropping bombs on them everyday and we just keep killing civilians. I also think that this war in Iraq has been going on for too long. I don't get the point for us to kill innocent people in car bombings. They obviously didn't do anything or else it wouldn't be considered "innocent"

Miss California Carrie Prejean in D.C. Talking Traditional Marriage

Miss California Carrie Prejean, who missed the golden crown for her answer saying "marriage should be between man and woman.", now is on a uphill way. Today, as of 30th April, she'll be announcing her "No Offense" campaign on behalf of the National Organization for Marriage.
Miss USA, judging who's the best woman to represent America, flows out of beauty with only its name. And this time of Miss USA 2009, there's been a hot issue about a nominee whose answer to "What do you think of marriages between sex sex?" was "marriage should be between man and woman." and missed missed the first rank. These days, people are sensitive to so-called "progressive ideas." And from those progressive ideas, as an example, the admission of marriage between same sexes came up since many number of people are desiring to do that. And I'm not sure if those kind of marriages should be banned or permitted, but what I thouhgt of the judgment of Miss California was unfair. She lost the points of the judges for saying she opposes same sex marriage, but at the same time she gained immense amounts of supports and praises from all around the world. And what I think the most important

It's a lot of temptation and hard to be on the way your faith is in when there are bunch of lurings. Of course, if the lady said something like "Because gay is nasty.", I'd have acknowledged the fact that she didn't even deserve to be the finalist.

A man clad in an Iraqi security force uniform shot and killed two American soldiers and wounded three others Saturday, the U.S. military said. The soldiers were killed just south of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, where anti-U.S. militants have a strong presence. The shootings underscored the dangers for U.S. troops and Iraqi security forces in that city. This could happen to anyone not just a soldier. No matter where you are or who you are this could happen to you.

this article, somehow intrigued me, and made think, of how using a phone to anonymously, to ask those embarrassing questions, you would just never ask your parents. now, i am all for parents speaking to their children about sex, and, its great when they want to ask them questions, but there are times when you want to be left anonymous when you ask the questions. there are some questions, where you feel to intimidated to ask your parents, for fear that they wonder how you got such information. the truth with that, is that age groups spread these around, and to the lower age groups. it spreads like a rumor at a school, like a wildfire.

I especially think its great to have a hotline for kids, who don't have the adequate parents, to answer the questions, or even when the parents sometime don't know what the answers are. It definitely makes things not as embarrassing, but at the same time, it is a complete stranger.

the use of technology to provide the necessary information for teens to have safe sexual encounters, is better than limiting them to the knowledge, and letting them be un-educated. I would hope parents would rather be having their kids asking the questions to someone, instead of blindly walking into the situation.

in conclusion, i think it’s a great idea to give answer to kids, who may not be ready to ask their parents, or reveal that information to them. it’s a tough thing to ask parents, and sometimes, that’s a subject you don't discuss with them. at least this phone service is giving the teens that ability to ask someone.

(as for my opinion on sex before marriage, it doesn’t bother me, because what people do in there free time, is their choice, and if they get caught in the repercussions, then they got themselves a problem.)
