I choose Hale and Parris. Well first Parris was worried about his reputation. Hale when he first came he was all about finding the witches. Towards the middle of the story they were kind of friends. Then when I came to the court scene, it looked like he hated each other. They were aruging and what not. Then at the end of the story they are agreeing with each other. I think that if Parris never invited Hale to Salem then this would never have happen. I agree with Goody Nurse. But on the other hand if Parris never invited Hale to Salem then we will have a really really bornig story.

Elizabeth Proctor and Abigail Williams have many differences in their values and morals. In the beginning of the story Abigail drank a charm to kill Elizabeth because she wanted to be with Proctor. She also does not want the town to find out what happened in the woods, so she starts to blame others, and she persuades most of the town that there is witches among them. With the help of Mary Warren she frames Elizabeth Proctor for casting her spirits upon her. She had the whole town to turn themselves against each other. Abigail is a very greedy person, she is willing to hurt innocent people in order to save herself. Elizabeth Proctor is a respectful church wife. She knew of John Proctor's affair and tried to forgive and forget about it. She was very close to God and did not believe in witchcraft. She opposed the hysteria the town was going through and kept herself far away from it until she was taken to jail for being accused a witch. When John was in court, she tried to protect his name and did not admit to him having an affair. Both women are on the opposite side of the argument. Elizabeth knows that there are not witches in Salem, Abigail makes everyone believe that there is. I think that the story is interesting at the end when it is Proctor and Hale trying to persuade Danforth and Parris that the whole thing is untrue.
For this evening I chose to write about Elizabeth and Abigail. Elizabeth really doesn't like Abigail because she had an affair with John proctor. Even after John and Abigail had a talk about how their was nothing between them anymore Abigail still had feelings for him. This in turn made Abigail angry and accused Elizabeth of being a witch. Of course Elizabeth was angry about that but now they have found out that she was pregnant and it threatened the life of her baby. After escaping death from being accused by Abigail another thing happens. She starts talking to Danforth and saying that John Proctor should be arrested. Elizabeth now has to go into court to say if Proctor did cheat on her. I feel that Abigail is really crazy and shouldn't act this way. It just goes to show you how crazy people are willing to be just to get what they want.

Elizabeth and Abigail have the most differences in the story. Abigail seems to have much less morals and values. Elizabeth, on the other hand, seems to be a better person. She is an honest person who says what's on her mind. However, Abigail is a greedy person who is sneaky. She does everything with lies and with bad intentions. She wants Elizabeth out of the picture and she even drinks blood to make this happen. She wants to continue the affair with John. She even uses people to get others in trouble. Mary Warren is like her own puppet who Abigail controls. She confessed to witchcraft so she could accuse other people whom she did not like. Abigail is willing to do anything to get what she wants. Elizabeth believed in being the better person and choosing not to get involved in the whole scandal of witchcraft. She plays the better person when she finds out about John's affair. She let's it go quickly and focuses more on getting out of being accused. Overall I would say Elizbeth Proctor is the better person out of these two.

Mr. Kay,
I am choosing to compare Elizabeth and Abigail. In the beginning of the play, Elizabeth was very sweet, and she was so kind. Elizabeth is like the kind of wife any good man deserves. She made the food, she cleaned the house, she took care of John. Now Abigail on the other hand, is not the sweet and inocent girl that her image tells people. From the beginning of the play, Abigail has shown that she is not trustworthy. Her ability to bring people to believe whatever she says is costing her alot of guilt. But of course, Abigail thinks that she can do whatever she wants, she feels no guilt, no pitty, and no self recognition. When I say that she has no self recognition, I mean that she does not realize what she is or already has become. Elizabeth and Abigail are two totally different people. I don't think that they have anything in common. Elizabeth has influenced many people, she has made them realize what a good soul she has. While I can't say the same about Abigail.

Abigail and Elizabeth Proctor have very different values. Abigail drank a charm to kill goody proctor. She wanted goody proctor dead so she could have john all to herself. Elizabeth is a very respectfull person. Elizabeth knew that tehre werent any withces in salem. Abigail was telling the people that there were witches. She was saying alot of names and acusing tehm of being a witch.

Two characters that contradict each other are Elizabeth and Abigail. Elizabeth is a good person with many good qualities and Abigail doesn't have many good qualities. Abigail had an affair with Proctor and when Elizabeth found out, she fired Abigail. Abigail wasn't too happy and decided to try to kill Elizabeth and drank a charm to do it. Then after creating hysteria in the town, Abigail accused Elizabeth of being a witch. The only thing Elizabeth did was lie to save her husbands name and not embarrass him. Abigail has impacted the story by starting the whole witch hunt and Elizabeth has impacted the story by encouraging Proctor to tell the truth. My opinion in the whole thing is that Abigail is wrong and Elizabeth is a good person and doesn't deserve to be hung.
I choose abligail and elizabeth. abligail wanted to be with proctor so she wanted elizabeth dead so she could have him. i think elizabeth is a good person and loved her husband. i think abligail is selfish and only cared about herslef. i think these two are two of the main characters in this story without the story between abligail. proctor and elizabeth i dont think that this story would have been the same. abligail accuses elizabeth of being a witch so she would be hunged so she would be with proctor.

Mr.Kay,
For tonights blog I will talk about band. Currently in band we are working on a few peices that we will be preforming at festival. There is one peice that I already like and It's called Vesuvius, by Frank Techeli. This song is like 10 minutes long and is pretty hard. One because it is fast, second becasue the time changes are confusing. The other peice's we are playing are Go by Samual Hazo, and A march that I forgot the name to. Over all I think that if we can get the vesuvius peice good, we will do fine at festival.

Elizabeth and Abigail are very differnt and play differnt roles in the plays. First off they are differnt ages abigial is 17 when i would say that Elizabeth is in her 30's. But the biggest differnce was that they chose opposite sides in the court case. Elizabeth took John's side of the story that the girls are just faking all of happennings. But Abigail was the heart of the other side she faked, and planned in other words was the mastermind. Abigail was a very demanding and free spirted person who did what she wanted to do. But, Elizabeth was a person who went with the flow and was a rule follower. Abigail on the is very harmless looking but under her extoirer she is a very evil person. She is the one that started it all and she got away with it. Elizabeth did ot get away from the accuction of abigail and sits in jail till she gives birth. I wish that John and Elizabeth got to get away free of charge and Abigail got what she desvered which is to hang.

the two characters i pick are proctor and parris. id say these two guys are both fighting for the two most opposite things. proctor realizes the decietfullness and foolishness in all these witch trials. personally i think proctor is handling this problem in salem the best of all the characters. hes looking at the impact of all the accusations against people. rev. parris on the other hand has gone form not being liked that much, to being hated. i think at this time in the story all the charcters are starting to see the selfcenterd-ness of parris. both these charcaters have impacted the story, at this point id say they both have somewhat of an equal impact.

I have chose to show the comparison of Rev. Hale and Rev. Parris. Reverend hale begins to be someone who thinks of others and how his actions affect them. Like once he signs for the death of many people he feels bad. Parris on the other hand doesnt care about anyone except himself. He will do anything so his reputation stays. I thnik that Rev. Hale has impacted the story in my eyes because he is one of the only people who is beginning to be honest. I think that Parris is affecting th estory negatively. He is trying to blame things on others that may well be getting them killed.
i choose proctor and parris. i choose them because through the whole story the are against each other through out the whole way. proctor has been sneaking around and parris is truthful and not sneaky. later in the story parris begins to figure out that what all they are doing to these woman is all wrong. then proctor still thinks that he is still doing the right thing. hanging the woman thinking that they are witches. another time when proctor is against all of this parris is going all out on those woman. people were saying that they were brewing stuf in the fields. running around naked in the woods. having a party i think.
Elizabeth and Abigail, Hale and Parris, Proctor and Parris. Pick a pair and write how they are different and how these characters have impacted the story and your view of the story. This may well take more than 7 sentences.
I choose Abigail and Elizabeth. These two are different in many ways. Abigail, at the beginning of the story, left the teachings of God to go after her own selfish wants/needs. She went on and acused over 30 people of witchcraft when they were all innocent. In doing this Abigail changed the entire town. Like a wall with too many holes in it, it crumbled and the economy and everything else there went haywire. Elizabeth on the other hand never left the teachings of God. She always went by His teachings and was an honest and true women. She was one of the many people acused of witchcraft. I see this story as a horrible and dramatic tragedy. Many people died for practically no reason. Just the word of a lying and decietful girl who couldn't keep her hormones in check for John Proctor.

Elizabeth and Abigail is a good pair. Elizabeth doesnt really cause much drama in Salem unless abigail pulls her in it. We learn abigail tries to do a potion in an attempt to kill Elizabeth. Abigail impacted the story by using witch craft to get the whole mess started. When eilizabeth learns John and abby once had a thing, she questioned him. Everyone soon began to get involved and played a role in the deaths of "witches". Elizabeth is innocent and was dragged in to something that tore Salem apart. Abigail changed my perception on the story by having something so little get so big. The news of witch craft didnt seem like a big deal, then when more people found out, it became serious.

Abigail and Elizabeth are the two I choose to write about tonight. The two do not have a very nice bond together. Abigail is just a very bad person. She tried to kill Goody Proctor with a chicken blood spell. Elizabeth is very mad that Abigail would have a secret relationship with John Proctor. They are all now in court fighting for there lives. Now they wait to see the news...Proctors put in risk for Abigails actions. Elizabeth is a nice person and deserves her freedom. Just shows how Abigail is a crazy person and deserves death.
I chose Elizabeth and Abigail. I picked them, because they are two of the main characters in the story, and are important in the story as well. Elizabeth and Abigail have many differnces in the story. In the beginning Abigail dislikes Elizabeth because first off she fired her, and she wants to take Elizabeths place as Proctors wife. So Abigail drinks chicken blood to charm Elizabeth. But she doesnt want anyone to know about the incident in the forest, so she started blaming other people, including Elizabeth, of being witches. So basically, Abigails character is very selfish and somewhat vindictive. Where as Elizabeth is the total opposite. She is selfless, and just wants to make peace in the world, and hates conflict. Elizabeth was the one that just wanted to forgive and to forget about the whole affair with Abigail and Proctor. And tryed to protect Proctor in court and didnt tell them about the affair.
Clare Pathe
I believe that Abigail and Elizabeth are two characters that contradict each other. Abigail Williams is a woman who had an affair with the man she claims to be in love with John Proctor. Which, John is married to Elizabeth. Earlier in the story Abigail drank a charm, so she could remove Elizabeth from the picture, completely. In order to protect herself she started blaming others and saying they were the one's of the witchcraft. During this she persuades many of the towns people, as well as Mary Warren. She forced Mary Warren to frame Elizabeth Proctor of being a witch. Abigail, is a very selfish, self centered person, she does not care for anyone but her self. As for Elizabeth Proctor, she is a very simple, elegant, sophisticated women. She knew of the affair with John and Abigail, but after they talked it out, she was willing to forgive, but never could she forget. During the accusation of Elizabeth she does not know her husband has already confessed to their affair, so she lies to protect her husband because she loves him.

The pair i pick is Abigail and Mary Warren. These to girls are very different. First, Abigail is older and the ring leader of all the girls in the town. Second Mary warren is fifteen and is always really scared and frightened. But Abigial really always needs to be incontrol so she can get what she wants. Well Abigail has impacted the stroy the greatest. She is a really big reason that the witch stuff came about. Mary Warren is not as important to the stroy but one really important thing she did was that she got John Proctor tken away by saying he is the devil. My view of the stroy is that it is just like a High School. I mean everyone only listens to the person with power and will do anything to try to be like that person so they do what that top person is doing. Even if you know that, that person shouldn't be doing it, you still do it cuz you want to be liked by the powerful people.

I pick Elizabeth and Abigail. One difference between the two is that Abigail is a witch. Thats why at the beinning she drank a charm to kill John Proctor's wife. Elizabeth is John Proctor's wife and a good person. She did not like Abigail because she was having an affair with John. I think Abigail impacted the story by telling Mary Warren to set up Elizabeth by telling everyone she is a witch. Elizabeth impacted the story by getting arrested for being accused of being a witch. My views on the story is that Elizabeth is up set that John is going to be hanged. Also Abigail will feel bad because she had affair with him. She might blame his death on Elizabeth and not herself because she is not a good person.

Alright i am going to choose Hale and Parris. First, Hale was all for finding witches and the devil at the begining of the play becasue thats what he did. Now he is thinking that there aren't really witches and if there are he thinks it has gotten out of hand in Salem. Another thing is he has killed many people and now thinks aut it twice before he does it again to the others. He has impacted the pley because of the factor he came to settle this all but hasn't done that. Plus it has gone way out of his reach in protecting the town in my opinion. For Parris his daughter has been sick and some think she is a witch. He doesn't care about his daughter that much because of his reputation. Throughtout the whole story thats all he has cared about because he thinks he should be the best in town. Also, he thinks that he should be the riches and probably owns the most land. Last thing is Parris thinks witches are around unlike Hale and he doesn't care who, he wants them done.
Ty Bouwens, 6th hour
Proctor and Paris have very opposite personalities. in the begining Paris doesn't tell the truth about what really happened in the woods that day. this causes people to get accussed and a lot of problems in Salem. all his is worried about is his repputation beacuse he is the village priest. he thinks he is better and people should have high respect for him. like in act I he complains about his pay and his fire wood. on the other hand Proctorhad an affiar with Abigail but tries to make up for it to his wife Elizabeth. he turns out to be a honest man who likes to have a good name. he takes responsibility for what he did and tries to make the court relize Abigail is making this all up. he een admits to his affair.
I choose Elizabeth to Abigale.
Elizabeth thinks Abigale is out to get her, and she was right. Abigale's reasons were more than selfish, and the harlot of a girl ran off after throwing 'her man' in jail.
According to Proctor, Elizabeth has never lie a day in her life. But to save her husbands 'good name' to not prove him to be a lecher. Abigale, however, is the liar of liars. She has so far lied to every person in Salem, and stopped after it seemed to be out of her hands.
Both women have struck this story as the instigators of DOOM. Abigale started the mess, and Elizabeth prodded along her husbands own demise. I think this makes it a great play, and I wish the other students would be a bit more enthusiastic about the whole thing. D:

I tink that two characters that contrct with eachother is Poroctor and parris. They are always disageing. Parris thinks that Proctor is just a man who is seeking land and cares more about his self and not the church. Proctor thinks that parris is a man who takes what he want from the church. He thinks that Parris has to much power. He gets people from the chirch to get what he wants. Even thought they both hate each other they are a bit the same. Parris and proctor are also the sane. Parris and proctor both think a bit of them selves. They both ahte each other when they should be helping eachother to get there wants. I think that this is kind of funny because it just shows how messed up salem is. It made me realize that every one is involved in there own problems. So they blame eachother to get what they want.

Mr. Kay,
Im going to talk about Prris and John Proctor. First of all John Proctor is an honest man. He is always being honest, and when he does mae a mistake he admits it. Parris on the other hand will try and blame it on somebody else. Parris is never truthful about anything he does and lives only for himself. Procotr tries to help others and make Salem a better place to live. Parris claims that he is trying to help the city of Salem when he is just making it worse. If Parris would have done what proctr had done, he would have totally denied it and would have never confessed.
I chose to compare Abigail and Elizabeth Proctor. These two women are complete opposites. Abigail had an affair with Elizabeth's husband at the beginning of the play. Elizabeth asked Abigail to leave her home so she could forgive her husband and move on with her life. Abigail goes into the forrest and drinks a charm so Elizabeth would die. Abigail and the other girls started a whole bad chain of events which gets many innocent people charged with witchcraft. Elizabeth was a good woman and was an honest person where Abigail lied everytime she turned around. Abigail blackmailed MMary Warren by giving Elizabeth a poppet which gets Elizabeth accused of being a witch. Elizabeth continues to do the right thing and tries to proct her husband. These two women are the complete opposites.
Elizabeth and Abigail have only one thing in common, that is that they both love John Proctor. This dispute is the cause of the witch hunt. Abigail will stop at nothing to get Proctor. She blames others and drinks a charm to kill Elizabeth. Her actions caused the town to go crazy and 12 people to be hung. Elizabeth on the other hand is reasonable and has limits. Even though she was accused and threatened, she still hasn't blamed anyone who should not be rightfully blamed. Abigail is listened to due to fear. While Elizabeth is due to respect. Abigail is more like a tease that you shouldn't mess with. Elizabeth is more compassionate and won't take drastic action unless absolutly nessary.

To start Parris and Hale are both reverends. They both should be praising the lord and promoting good will and holyness. While parris is constnly worried about his reputation. Hale seemed concerned about his reputation in the beginning and later in the story he doesn't. Parris is agree with everythng the girls are saying during court while Hale is disagreeing. As the story goes on the seem to be opposites of the same side. Parris keeps doing everything he can to keep a solid reputation. Hale starts to notice whats going and and defends other people and try to stop innocents from hanging. Hale has changed my view of the story becuase he is picking every thing that dosent seem right out. Parris has also changed my view because he agrees with the girls to try and cover everything up to make himself look nice.

Abigail and Elizabeth I think were the most obvious pair that had the worst issues. Abigail and Elizabeth to me, were complete opposites. Elizabeth prided herself into being an honest godly women. She had a family to raise and had her goals all accomplished. Abigail on the other hand used her parents death as an excuse to lose all morals. She used people, lied and was a whore. She realized she was busted and caused many deaths just to keep her name clear. Abilgail wanted Elizabeth dead.

Mr. Kay,
I think that the strongest contradiction of people is Abigail and Elizabeth. The big thing that has to do with this contradiction is one thing, John Procter. Elizabeth has him, Abigail doesn't. So, Abigail being the psychotic being she is, is willing to do anything to get Elizabeth out of the way. By this I mean she does things like Drinking a potion to kill Elizabeth. She becomes the person who just wants to get people out of the way to get to Procter. In that way she is overly selfish and greedy. But, at the same time, Elizabeth is the sort of person who is very true and proper. Sure she is fighting Abigail, but she's not planning on sabotage and lying to do the job. Also, she always seems to do what is somewhat right. Such as when she lies to (attempt to) save John. She felt it was the right thing, so she did it instead of formally ruining hes rep. She is also not a gossiper and that again adds to her honesty and maturity. They make this story interesting because if it wasn't for their fighting and trying to save themselves, these witch trails wouldn't be happening. Overall, these two, Abigail and Elizabeth are polar opposites of each other.

I think that Elizabeth and Abigail are the most different from each other in the book. Elizabeth is married to Proctor and Abigail had an affair with them. Abigail likes Proctor so much that she drank a charm to kill Elizabeth so that she could continue her affair with her. I would see Abigail as a very sly person. She doesn't like to tell everybody what she does and she does it behinds everybodies back. That's why I think she is a sneaky person. Elizabeth on the other hand is very opposite of Abigail. She is very open and she is like the perfect person. After Abigail had the affair with Proctor Elizabeth herd about it and she tried to forgive him for it. At the trial she even stood up for him and lied to tell them about his affair.
I chose Abby and Elizabeth. Abby is different in the fact that i think she is inmature and young. Elizabeth is smarter and has morals and values. Abby has impacted others lives as well as her own. She has accused others of witchcraft. Also she has caused john to admit to things that he didnt need to, in other words in the court room. She has caused problems in john and elizabeths relationship. Elizabeth on the other hand, has saved johns life. She persuaded him to stay alive and confess.

I pick Elizabeth and Abigail. These two seem to have the most differences in this story. First off, Abigail tries to kill Elizabeth so that she can get to John. Another thing she did was tell the town that so and so is a witch because she didn't want anyone to find out about what went on in the woods. Abigail to me seems devious, tricky and someone you couldnt trust. She is very greedy in most of the story. Some examples would be when she drank the charm to kill Elizabeth, when she framed the other girls of being witches, and when she forced Mary Warren to frame Elizabeth as if she was casting spirits on her or something. Elizabeth seems to be an honest and trustworthy person. She tried to be loyal to John, like when he was in court she defended him. These characters, especially Abigail, have impacted the story majorly. If it weren't for Abigail, none of these accusations would even have come up. So far I think this story is okay. At times it is hard to follow. Most of it is interesting at some point.

the characters that i choose are Elizabeth and Abigail. They have a lot of differences, and beliefs. Abigail in the begining of the story drank a charm to kill elizabeth bc she wanted proctor all to herself. when the town finds out her and others dancin in the woods she blames it on random innocent people, and the towns starts to turn on many people bc she makes them believe her. she has the town believe that they are all witches. mary warren helps her frame elizabeth. abigail is controlling and once she sees something she wants, shell hurt anyone in her way, so she can save herself. elizabeth is quiet, and is kind. I think shes forgives people, her morals are way better then abigails. she forgived john even tho she knew about abigail. anyways, she was a believer in god, and not witchcraft. by this, she was accused of being a witch and she was taken a way to jail. she truley loved john, when she was in court she protected his name, so the town wouldnt turn on him to. these two characters are on different sides of the court. elizabeth is positive theres no witches. and abigail is tryin to persuade the townt that there is. this story is getting more interested as we keep reading.

Hale and Parris are the pair that seemed to condradict each other the most. At first they were very much the same. Hale and Parris had gone crazy with the accusations of whitchery. But Than Hale at the end of the story seems to realize all of this is ridiculous, and starts to pull away. Although Parris also starts to feel some remorse he doesn't show it to well. Hale in the end tries to help and Parris just sits quiet. I think Parris effects the story in a negative way and Hale at first negative but than positive. But im starting to like Hale more and more. The story over all is just kind of annoying and rather idiotic. But I do like some parts and I think it was written in a clever manner.
I believe the most contradicting pair of characters are Proctor and Parris. In almost every aspect of their personalities they are different. A large difference in the two are there views on reputation. In the beginning of the story when Betty had fallen ill, Parris cared little of her well being and more of his reputation. Toward the end of the play in act three Proctors wife is accused of witchcraft. She was accused because Abigail wanted Proctor to herself. Even though Proctor would be charged with lechery he admitted to his affair with Abigail. Those two examples are my proof of how contradicting of characters they are. Proctor would risk his life for his wife, while Parris wouldn't even risk his reputation for his daughter. They both impacted the story in two completely different ways. throughout the story Parris agreed with witchcraft and helped accuse the possessed. Toward the end of the play Proctor really stepped forward to end this hysteria in Salem. My view coincides with Proctor. (obviously)
the two people that are the opposite from each other are Abigail and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is proctors wife and Abigail had an affair with proctor. Abigail wanted proctor so much that she drank a charm to kill Elizabeth. i think that Abigail is a very sneaky person. she keeps everything that she does a secret. i think that she is the witch. now Elizabeth she is open to every body. she does not keep any thing a secret.
In the story, Reverend Hale and Reverend Parris are very different. Parris is kind of a jerk who only cares about his reputation and his job. He doesn't want to lose his status because Abigail is lieing and he thinks people should respect him just because he is the Reverend. Hale is more down to Earth, and he has gained respect through his positive actions. He also is in defense of the accused becasue he thinks this whole thing is a joke, which it is. He sees the truth behind everything and doesn't understand the reasoning of the accusations. My view of the story is through Reverend Hale's eyes. His thoughts are reasonable and it really has showed me the truth behind everything.
the two characters i pick are proctor and parris. id say these two guys are both fighting for the two most opposite things. proctor realizes the decietfullness and foolishness in all these witch trials. personally i think proctor is handling this problem in salem the best of all the characters. hes looking at the impact of all the accusations against people. rev. parris on the other hand has gone form not being liked that much, to being hated. i think at this time in the story all the charcters are starting to see the selfcenterd-ness of parris. both these charcaters have impacted the story, at this point id say they both have somewhat of an equal impact.

I am going to chose Elizabeth and Abigail. The big difference between these two is Elizabeth is John Proctors wife. Also Elizabeth is a pretty quite person that dosn't make much trouble. However Abigail starts a lot of stuff in Salem. She is like the ring leader to the other girls and she lies to get herself in less trouble. She introduces the girls of using witch craft to get out of trouble and it explodes into a really big deal. Elizabeth is the person cought in the middle of John and Abigail's affair so really she is innocent. But to get her out of the way Abigail says that she is envolved in witchcraft. To me Abigail has changed my view of the story because she keeps lying and it is getting people more and more in trouble.
Taylor wattles
I choose Abigial and Elizabeth. In the beginning of the story Abigail drank a charm to kill Elizabeth because she wanted to be with Proctor. but she doesnt want the town to find out. With the help from Mary Warren they gang up on Elizabeth for casting her spirits upon her. She had the whole town to turn themselves against each other. Abigail is a brat, she doesnt care if she is hurting other people as long as she is saving herself. Elizabeth Proctor is a respectful church wife. She knew of her husbands affair and tried to forgive him and forget about it. She was close to god, and didn't believe in witch craft. Elizabeth knows that there arent witches in Salem, Abigail makes everyone believe that there is.

The two characters I chose are Proctor and Parris. There are a few differences between them. Procter is an honest man that committed sins in his life. He loves his children and his wife more than his own life and name. Reverend Paris is a person that values his reputation more than his family. He expects people to follow his rule.
John’s affair with Abigail is the reason why the girls were in the woods. If John had been more active in the church, no one would have thought of calling him a witch. If Proctor lied he would have spared his life. The contradiction lies with Parris. If Parris told the real truth this whole thing would not have imploded. If he was not so self-centered he could have saved lives. Ironically, he is supposed to save souls but he participates in condemning them.
I choose elizabeth and abby. Elizabeth doesn't like Abigail because of the whole affair thing with John proctor. Elizabeth is an honest person who says what's on her mind. on the other hand Abigail is a greedy person who is sneaky. she lies about everything. Abigail has shown that she is not trustworthy. Shes not honest with anyone and she doesnt diserve anyones trust. Elizabeth never left the teachings of God. She always went by His teachings and was an honest and true women. She was true to everyone. Abby acussed elizabeth of witch craft because she doesnt like her. She wants jonh proctor. I think abby will do all she can just to get john for her self.
Two characters that contradict each other are Elizabeth and Abigail. The only thing Elizabeth did was lie to save her husbands name and not embarrass him. Abigail has impacted the story by starting the whole witch hunt and Elizabeth has impacted the story by encouraging Proctor to tell the truth. Elizabeth took John's side of the story that the girls are just faking all of happennings. Abigail was a very demanding and free spirted person who did what she wanted to do. Another thing is he has killed many people and now thinks aut it twice before he does it again to the others
The characters in which i found impact the story most are Abagail and Elizabeth. Throughout the book Abagail her self was known to do greedy things such as drink a charms to kill Elizabeth because she wanted John Proctor all to herself. This was not the only action in which took place showing the character of Abagail. Another thing in which she acted on were the actions done in the woods. She was the guilty one but was able to turn it around on other local towns people and convinced them that she is not a bad person, its many other people. On the other side of this, Elizabeth is the good girl. She is a girl in which does not believe in witch craft and is willing to forgive john proctor for his affair with Abagail. She is not one to act on any bad causes and is also willing to protect the names of her loved ones in court after being accused of witch craft. If she were to spread the affair john had with abagail many would believe that she and john practice and follow in some sort of witch craft.

Abigail and Elizabeth have had opposite views on everything going on in the town. Abigail, niece of Parris, you would think would be good and nice. But, she proves you wrong, she had an affair with John Proctor. She then tried to get him to leave Elizibeth. She also drank a blood charm in the woods and lied about it. Then to keep the lie hidden she starts blaming other people including Elizabeth to be witches. She wants Elizabeth dead so she can have proctor all to herself. But, Elizabeth is completely different. She is honest and never lies. She forgave her husband even after he cheated on her. These two girls impacted this story in a big way. Without Abigail crying out on all these girls then they wouldn't have had all the commotion about witches. And Elizabeth wouldn't be in jail and maybe hung if Abigail wouldn't have had an affair with her husband. Personally, I think everything that happened between them was Abagail's fault. Elizabeth stayed calm and she only fired her after the affair. I am completely on Elizabeth's side for this controversy. Because, I don't think anything that happened between Abigail and Elizabeth was her fault.

I think that Proctor and Parris are easily opposites of each other. Parris is greedy, he wants more money and more authority. Proctor is a simple man who works hard for his family. Almost every choice that Parris makes seems to be influenced by his reputation or self-gain. If something benefits him or will keep his reputation safe, that is the best path for him. On the other hand, Proctor makes his decisions based on what is the right thing to do. He knows that even though he may not like one option the best, if it is the proper thing to do, he generally does it. Proctor stands for what is right, while Parris cowardly hides his faults with lies. If Parris was like Proctor, he would have done the proper thing and told the town that he had found the girls dancing naked. If Proctor were not in the story, I'm not sure if Abagail would have ever been confronted. She may have just been able to continue on with her accusations without any interference from others questioning her motives or authority. I think that I would not like this story at all if Proctor was not in it, because he seems to bring out the good in some people. When you have characters such as Parris, you need positive leaders such as Proctor to help balance out the problems Parris makes.

I think Elizabeth and Abigail contradict each other the most. It all started when she found out that John had an affair with Abigail. Elizabeth is a good christian, who has never or rarely tells any lies. In contrast, Abigail is a snotty, selfish bitch/whore. She only cares about herself and she accuses Elizabeth, who is completely innocent. Elizabeth, who is pregnant, forgot quickly about johns affair, and is overall a great person. All abigail cares about is being with Proctor, and when she realizes that wont happen she wants him arrested. It just doesnt make sense how everyone listens and follows abigail.

I choose Parris and Hale. Parris is the type of guy who cares about what people think of him. Hale is the more honest type. But then when the tough got going Hale turned and made a mistake by trusting the girls. They were never really close, in the whole story they go back and forth of liking each other and then hateing each other.

Mr. Kay I was having problems with my internet last night. I hope it's not a problem that I did it in the morning.
Abigail and elizabeth are almost complete opposites. Elizabeth is a kind hearted, nice women who follows her religion and trys not to sin. Abigail is a mean, and manipulitive person who doesn't care about anyone else or if people die for the wrong reason. Elizabeth has shown me that people back then were still nice and believed in the values of their town. She is also very forgiving. She forgave John even though she let him know that it better not happen again. Abigail has shown that by lieing you can ruin someones life and they could be killed by your actions. Abigail is only out to make her life better, she was trying to kill goody proctor so she could be with john. John didn't like abigail anymore but she still thought she could overcome his dislike of her. Near the end we have seen how bad a lie can impact an entire town. Abigail knew that people were turning against her so she ran away. It looks really bad when your number one witness runs off. I think it shows that the whole thing could be false.
