Mary Warren is subjected to intense peer pressure from Abigail and the other girls. How would you compare the intensity of the peer pressure she faces with that exerted on many people your age today? Do you think peer pressure plays a role in defining who you are as a person? Why or why not?

Mary Warren had to undergo major peer pressure. In modern times like today, peer pressure is a huge problem. It can severely influence decisions that a person may make. People aren't using their heads to think things through anymore, they just feel the need to do what everyone else does. This is definitely a bad thing when it comes to being a nonconformist. Peer pressure is found anywhere. Teenagers are most susceptible to peer pressure. All in all, the most wise thing to do is make your own decisions no matter what anyone else thinks about it.
The peer preseure that Mary Warren has is a lot more intense than that of our age. Her peer pressure was in court and about witchcraft. When she was lieing along with the others cause of peer presure she was killing multiple people. The peer presure were faced with isn't intended toward killing multiple people. It may be intended toward slowly killing someone because of the drugs and alcohol. Peer preseure is a big role of defining who a person is. Peer presure can decide who your friends are and what you do. Peer presure can show how mentally stable and strong a peron is. If you don't want to do something and your friends say that you should you should have the courage and strnght not to.
Peer pressure plays a huge part in the life of a teenager. There are so many different things that people may try to pressure you into doing, such as drinking, smoking, drugs, and that is just a few of the major ones, there are hundreds more. Sometimes the pressure can be very mild and not affect things that much, but sometimes there is a huge amount of pressure and it has an affect on many other things. For example, the pressure could be as small as someone asking you a personal question that you might not want to answer but you don't nessicarily want to sound foolish, that doesn't have that big of an affect on anything really. There are also some intense pressure moments, like if someone asks you if you want to drink or smoke and you don't know whether to try it and be like everyone else, or to be higher than that and say no thank you. That has a bigger affect because not only is there peer pressure that might cause you to say yeah, sure why not, there are bigger consequences. You might get caught, you might do something really stupid, there are just so many things that could go wrong. This plays a big part in High School because this is when everyone is experimenting and all the different levels of popularity and everyone wants to "be cool" and do what everyone else is doing. Peer pressure most definately plays a role in defining who you are as a person. How you react and take the pressure, whether you are saying no thank you, or yeah sure why not, right? It tells who you are and if you give in to it, you may be a weaker person than if you do not.
when mary warrern undergo peer pressure it is like going and caving alchol and somking pot in a day. i think peer pressure defines who you are. i think it dose because if someone else catchs you doing it what are you going to say i caved to peer pressure. they might find it hard to belive and think that you are a pot head or alcholic. also i think it shapes you because you might ending up likeing it. so then you will become a pot head or alcholic. that is what i think about peer pressure shapeeing people.
The peer pressure that Mary Warren is subjected to isn't nearly as bad as what it is like today. Abigail and the other girls were trying to get Mary to lie and say that she saw spirits that didn't exist. Mary decided to tell the truth about the problem that occured. The pressure that she is experiencing is getting harder to resist, but she is. Peer pressure plays a big role in defining who I am as a person. I don't agree with peer pressure that comes toward me, but I may eventualy do something that I may not want to do. I hope that that doesn't happen to me.

The peer pressure put upon mary warren was by far more severe thenthat of teenagers in this day and age. Depending on the sicuation, peer pressure can affect many people in diffrent ways. In a sense this relates to nonconformity within the teenagers of today. Like how abigail pressured and dominated others to follow along with her witch hunt. These days in things like school, it's not uncommon for those who assert stronger dominance then others to peer pressure some into doing as they do or say. I would say that not just teenagers, but peer pressure had been exposed to people of all ages. severe and minor from the youngest of school children to the eldest of fart machine adults. Its only in our human nature to want to fit in with others, and i have to admit that if i said making your own decisions was the best choice no matter what went about. Then i most likely would be a little hypocritical due to my experiences involving peer pressure thus far in life.

when marry warren is testifying in court she is definitely peer pressured by many people not just Abagail and the girl but by many others also. if i could compare the peer pressure to anything i would compare it to all of your friends telling you to do or say something at the same time, Intense.i think that peer pressure definitely defines me as a person.the reason is because if someone told to do or say something then they did, they would give in and do it more frequent and eventually mold into that being. peer pressure defines me personally because if i give in or not determines what kind of person i am. peer pressure can determine any ones fate whether it is minor or major. this is how peer pressure plays a role in our society to control the way we live.
I would say that Marry Warrens peer pressure is more intense than teens today. Teens go through peer pressure but im sure not all of them are pressured like Marry. I believe all teens have peer pressure and that it plays a role in showing who you are. If you are pressured into doing something bad and you do it, I feel that that shows you want to fit in. I think Mary being pressured in court shows that she is scared to stict up for herself. When you are being pressured you know what is right and what's wrong. You need to have the strenght to make the right decision.
the pear pressure i have encounter is nothing compared the there pear pressure. Theres is life and death vs. right and rong. The only pear pressure i have is if someones telling me to sneak out or something. Or if someones asking you to get drunk its still no were close to theres because they could get hanged or somthing. i It can define you as who you as a person. one way is it can show if your the kind of person who will geive in to the things people tell you to do. another is it can change who you are or how people view you depending what you do.
I think that the peer pressure Mary Warren faces is a lot like the pressure exerted on kids my age today. Mary is very weak and will pretty much anything to stay out of trouble when she goes to court which is a lot like kids my age today. Then once the pressure is added when Abby and the girls start to mimick Mary and see the "yellow bird", Mary cracks. That's like when a kid gets asked so many times to do something bad, such as smoking. People will antagonize you until you eventually try it. Mary gets so paranoid that she just screams and says that she sees the Devil because she is dilusional. Yes, I do think that peer pressure plays a role in defining who you are as a person. If you can stand up for something that you believe is wrong, then you will have more drive and determination in life to do what you want and be able to do it. Also, if you are the person who is pressuring kids into doing something bad, it just shows how low of a person you are. All of your friends probaly left you because you did the bad things so now you're going to drag innocent people into your bad situation and screw them over too. Peer pressure is portrayed in the play and in real life.
I think the peer pressure Mary Warren faces is the same as the peer pressure that people around my age. Of caurse Mary Warren and people my age dont face the same types of peer pressure, but Mary Warren and people in my age group do face peer pressure. I think that it is very likely for peer pressure to shape who some one is. The people you hang out with and talk to will pressure you into different things, which could cause you to gain some good or bad habbits. Depending on the group of people you hang out with, you could experience different kinds of pressure. Everyone will fall under pressure in their life, and it will shape who they are. Wether it is good or bad. The people you hang out with are the most likely to pressure you into doing things. Your family members also can pressure you into things, but not as much as your peers. The cycle of pressure always will have an influence on some one life, which will have an effect on who they are as a person.
I definitely believe that peer pressure can play a role in defining who you are as a person. You may think you are one person but as soon as peer pressure starts, you can change instantly. Mary Warren is pressured by all of the girls that are pretending to be witches in court. And all the pressure gets to her, and she made the decision to do something she probably didn't really want to do. It happens a lot. Peer pressure can turn you into a person you don't want to be if you let it. Or, it can make you better. Peer pressure isn't always negative. I think the peer pressure these days is less extreme. Mary Warren had to confess to being a witch, or she would die. For the most part teenagers get pressured to do stupid things like drugs, or to drink or smoke. There are worse things, but most of the things are dumb.
Mary Warren was going through major peer pressure when in the court room all the girls stated pretending they saw the devil, so she started pretending too so she wouldn't get in trouble. She has to go through peer pressure that is a lot more intense then the peer pressure we have to go through. If she didn't follow this pressure from her friends to pretend they saw the devil, she probably could be put in jail or hung. Nowadays, we have the usual pressures to try drugs or drinking and such. I personally think it is a lot easier to not always listen to peer pressure but that could be just me. But it definitely plays a part in defining your life. Lets say you take up a friends offer on doing drugs, you could get hooked on those drugs for the rest of your life and people will always know you as the stoner. Don't get me wrong there is plenty of good peer pressure out there but i think the bad ones can effect your life worse then the good ones.
Peer pressure can overcome you easily and Mary Warren was a perfect example of that. She cracked under the pressure, even when LIVES were at stake. I definitely think that peer pressure can influence who you are. People have an innate sense that makes us want to be associate with people or, friends. We will usually go to any measures to fit in with someone. Once we do, we want to keep it that way. We don't want to be excluded so we crack under that pressure and do the things they want us to do. This is exactly what happened to Mary, she just couldn't stand it.
In the play Mary Warren had some major peer pressure. In our lives peer pressure is also a major factor. It plays a huge role in making the decision based upon how you feel or others feel. In my eyes Mary Warren didnt go through as much peer pressure as us teens do now a days. I think peer pressure does play a role in defining who you are as a person. If you are a strong enough person to make your own decisions not based on what others think then that is mostly a good thing. I think of a weak person as someone who just follows the crowd and does whatever the crowd does.
Peer Pressure has a huge effect on all highschoolers. Mary Warren goes through some of the most intense peer pressure I have ever seen. Most highschoolers in our age are peer pressured into drugs and drinking. Mary Warren has been peer pressured into lieing to send Proctor to jail and a possible hang. Peer pressure has a huge role in defining who you are as a person. If you peer pressure others, people aren't going to want to be friends with you because youre gunna pressure them to do the things you want them to do. If you can resist peer pressure, you will make better decisions in your life.
Mary had a large level of peer pressure then we do. She was in a court and we are in school or outside by hangouts. Our peer pressure is mostly minor and mary's was very large. Peerpressure can greatly determian who a person is. They could be a honest person theif smoker drinker cheater etc. It also coose friends and how you act around others. So peerpressure greatly defines who you are as a person.
I do think that Mary Warren had to under go a lot of pressure and it is a lot like the pressure that the teens face today. When people hear peer pressure most people think that it is always negative but peer pressure can also come in positive ways. Peer pressure can mean someone getting on someone about doing their homework or pressuring them to do good in a sport. There are also many negative ways of peer pressure like doing drugs, stealing or something bad. Peer pressure does make you the person that you are starting on whether or not you can say yes to bad pressure, whether you can or not will determine your futher. Peer pressure can decide the friends that you have and what you end up doing in life. Peer pressure makes you the person you are.
Mary Warrens peer pressure was alot worse. Mary Warrens peer pressure was worst because Abigail threnten to kill her if she didnt comfore to it. Mary Warrens peer pressure was in the court. It alot worst to because if you didnt comfore you was a witch. Peer pressure does not defines me as a person. The reason is because that being differnt and doing differnt things as everyone else defines you as person. Peer pressure will always exsit it your choice to follow it or to be an idivadal.
