Puritan society pressured individuals to adhere to strict standards of conduct and belief. To what extent to you think society expects you to conform today? Also, what do you think works better at creating a positive society, the Puritan's way or the current way? Why?

Society doesn' expect us conform very much. We mainly shouldn't hurt people and stuff like that. I think that our way is the best for a positive society. We don't have to go out of our comfort zones. We also don't have to try if we don't want to. Some people like to help others out and they can go right ahead. They just shouldn't expect some other people to do the same. People shouldn't be told what to do. When that happens people get angry and they don't like it. Angry people do not make a positive society.
I think that society expects you to do the things that other people are doing. When you don’t sometimes you will get labeled as “weird” or “different.” And it’s not always true. There are many people who just don’t want to be like others. They want to be their own person and have their own personality. And I respect those people very much. It’s almost annoying when you are around people who are so worried about what others think. Like they are too scared to speak their mind because they think that they won’t fit in anymore. I think what works better to create a positive society is when everyone is their self and nobody judges them for it. Everyone works together as a team. That always makes things positive, working together.
I believe that our society wants to think a certain way and act a certain way but without all of the strict ways. Our society wants to go to court to defend ourselves even we know that we're innocent. I believe that our current way of life is better. I think this because, if we lived back in the time of the Puritans then we would be accused of being witches for doing something that they thought was withcraft and possibly send you to the noose. These days if you're accused you go to jail without the death penalty. You are also able to do more things now than you were back then. Others may say the opposite of me. That is totally up to them. It is also their opinion.

Society expects us to conform but not to the extend that it used to be. We still have to follow the laws and that's pretty much it. I believe our way creates a much more positive way then the puritan's. I think this because in the Puritan's life, if your world didn't revolve around the bible then you were automatically considered a devil worshiper. I would be in trouble if i lived back then because i rarely ever go to church, that doesn't mean I'm a bad person or that i don't believe in God.The way they lived was way to strict. They didn't give anyone a chance to defend themselves if they were accused of something they didn't do. Dong that just causes alot of town drama and that just makes things worse.
Society expects you to comform to the way of others.If you dont comform to others ways you are lable wired or an outcast. I think netheir the Puritan's way or todays way. The Purtin's way was wrong because if you didnt go to church you was a witch or warshiped the devil. Todays ways wrong because so of the fighting,bombing or killing is started because of religion. Out of the Purtin way and todays way i guess todays way is better. The resoan is better becuase you can belive in any good you want to.
puritans were strict and religious they formed people the way they wanted and showed no mercy. people these days do the same thing, they do this by TV because they commercial what people think are cool and if you don't do it then you wont be "cool". also people who go door to door to try to "Help" people trying to convert you and other people into there belief's a good example is Jehovah witnesses. i think that our way of conforming is the way that works the best. i think this because we don't force people to change they make there own decision. so overall i think that our way is the best choice that prevails the other. this is my opinion on conformity and how we do it today.
Society expects us to conform a ton nowadays. If you wear a different haircut, you are wierd. If you wear a different style of clothing, you are considered wierd. Society expects us to do things, such as having a job. I think the current way would be better for creating a positive society. In the Puritan way, things like what are happening in the book. People would be blaming each other for problems that occur for them.
In todays society we don't have to conform very much. The main things society wants you to conform to is laws. Other then that, there isn't really anything. I dont think the puritans way and the current ways in society create the same outcome. Neither are more positive or negative. The puritans strict way of society keeps people more in line. This creates a positive society in crime and things like that. But the current way of society allows people to be more free and independant. This makes people happy, which creates a more positive society. So both forms of society have their ups and downs.
I think society expects us to adhere to the laws. I think they expect us to give 100% to them. That is pretty much it because every individual has their own beliefs and other stuff. Its not like we are in one society with one belief or religion and such strictnss. I think our way creates a better society than the puritans. I think this because with the puritans it causes more problems within because so much goes on. For example, in The Crucable, there are alwys problems with being in one little society. I like our way of sciety.
Puritans were very strct but it was a good way to keep organization in the village. One of the biggest ways society expects us to conform is by going to school because no matter what we want t do we have to go. I think that the Puritans way of society makes people better. puritans always have a high standard of living and don't disobey many people. The curren way of society there is a lot more people that don't go to church and dont follow the rules as much. I think I like the currecnt way more because it is more laid back and the punishment is more strict for the Puritans. This is why I think I would like the current way more.
