Obviously, I try to keep things somewhat light in class. Some joking etc. I can make fun of myself as well as others and can be the butt of someone else's joke. To me humor is very important to get through the day. Read the following quote and tell me what you think he is saying. Then tell me the role humor plays in your life, with your friends, with your family, etc.

humor can be the spotlight of your day in many cases. i think what Hugh Sidey is saying in this is exactly what he said, " a sense of humor... is needed armor" this explains it all; when saying that humor is needed armor he is saying that if you don't have your armor(humor) then it leaves you exposed to all of the harmful items in life. the point is no humor, no personality that makes people want to be around you. humor plays a monumental part of my life it is what gets me out of bed in the morning and is always the spotlight of my day. most people say that humor is just a chemical reaction inside your brain... well it is but it's what shapes you as a person and what brings your family and friends to have a strong bond with you. this is what i believe about humor and Hugh Sidey's bold statement.
i think what he means is that humor is a very important part of life. He ses its needed armor, this may mean that it acts like armor agenst the bad things in a day. When he ses " joy in one's heart and some laughter on one's lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life." he may mean that if there able to laff and make other people laff then they are probly pretty content with there life and the world around them. Humor plays a big part in my life. it helps make the day more enjoyable, like during class, and at lunch. If im not feeling real good, physical or emotionally, humor always helps me feel better. i also made a lot of my friends through humor. Eather they made me laff or i made them laph.
I would agree with this quote 100%. In small quantities a little humor once in a while is fine. What is humorous to you may not be to someone else. If you try to bring some humor into someone's life, you may harm them in some way without even trying to. Most of the time if make someone laugh then you are making their day. Humor can be a great lifeline. If you make someone laugh, then the world seems brighter. Humor in my life brings my friends and I a whole lot closer.

Humor can play a bigger part in a persons life then you think. It releases tension, and puts people at ease. Laughing itself is something I wish that I could do every second of every day. Face it, funny people are the types of people that everyone gravitates to. They can completely turn around the mood a person is in. Allowing humor into your life will be one of the best things you will ever do. Jokes and laughs make any situation feel better. It can be a person's way to escape reality. To be down in the dumps 24/7 is like drowning yourself from a life of happiness.
A sence of humor is needed armour is saying that somethimes you can defend your self with humor. When you have a good sence of humor things aren't as hurtful as if you didn't. An example is haveing a good comeback to some ones joke if its about you. Rumor plays a big role in my life. Me and my friends always joke around with each other. Humor can tell you a lot about a person. If they have no humor normally they are mean or not fun to hang around with. Humor is a good thing for everyone to have. Without humor life would be boring and dull.
In the quote I think he is saying that everyone needs humor. With out the humor in life I think more things will get to you. I feel life without humor is boring. I personally need humor to help me get through the day. That's why I love being around my friends. They are always making jokes and I laugh. It really cheers me up. I think this quote is saying that humor is your safety. Without humor, or 'armor' you might not have a good day. Lets be honest here... Who would you rather be around? The person that is making jokes and laughing, or the person that is sitting with a grupmy face on? I'm pretty sure most people would want to hang with the funny man! Laughter is extremely important in my life because I believe that without it, your life would be dull. My friends make me laugh, and thats why they are my friends. To me, Hugh Sidey is saying that laughter will make your life better. Being able to joke around is a good quality to have in someone. I think that I am a generally funny person, because I just do stuff that makes people laugh. Humor and laughter can turn my day around when I'm having a bad day. My friends and I have a good time cracking jokes with one another. If it's a knock-knock or just a regular old line, we can go on for hours. Every night I enjoy eating dinner because it's just another time to laugh. My dad always talks about stuff that happens at work, my mom about something one of the kids in the lunchroom where she works did, or my brother talks about the crazy stuff that happens in his life. Being able to laugh altogether makes you a better person.
Humor plays a major role in my life. Im really random and i make all my friends laugh. I enjoy being random because i keep people on their toes and keep them wondering when im going to do next. When i wake up i need atleast 2 maybe 3 hours before i get fully with things. hugh is saying without humor the world would be boaring and dull. Also they do say the best medicine is laughter.
