Day 14

Tomorrow we will finish bubbling and then finish reading The Black Cat.

For this evening, ponder this quote. Tell me what it means to you and how it connects to your own philosphy of life:

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

This quote is plainly describing what our life should be. Unfortunetly most of us, including myself, bring something bad that happened yesterday into our today. I should follow this quote more because so many times my tommorrow has been ruined by my today. I have a tendency to hold a grudge for no reason and it can make my day more depressing. This quote is telling me to learn how to move on from the past and make today a better day. To not think about the stress from the day before, but to make today the best it can be. I can't change the past but it can affect my future if i keep thinking about it. Overall, we all need to learn to move on from the bad things and make our future the best it can be.

Ralph Waldo Emerson is saying not to live in the past. If you did something wrong learn from it and not do it again. He said Tomarrow is a new day. this means that tomarrow you can do something new. You don't always have to live the same life. If tomarrow you want to change it go right ahead and change it. To me this means live life to the fullest. I play baseball and if I make a mistake one game I try to learn from it and get it right the next time. If I don't get thru it then I'll end up focusing to hard on that and make a different mistake. It's good to live each day as a new one and thats what I try to do.

i think that this quote means that even though you screw up one day dont let it bother you because tommorow is a new day.this can relate to my life because even though i srew up i can just forget about it and start a new day tomarrow.when it says You have done what you could i think it means do every thing that you have to do. this connects to my life by telling me thaqt i should do my bast inschool rght so that way i can feel good about myself. when it says "Finish each day and be done with" it i think it means once a day is done its done. this connects to my life by telling me that when the day is over its over i cant go back in time and change what has happend. that is what i think that this quote means and how it connects to my life.

I agree with the quote 100%. It means that you should just live your life to the fullest. Also, you shouldn't dwell on the past. If you do, then you won't get too far in life. You should try to forget the bad decisions that you've made the previous day. I have made many mistakes throughout my life, and I forget about them the next day. most people do the opposite of what I do.

this quote means in my opinion several things. the first thing that pops into my head when reading this is one day has past, you put as much effort into your work/school as your moral value lets you. but as you keep reading it talks about how all people make mistakes every day just like you it is just part of a human error. then it talks about the next day it says that you are now refreshed and prepared for the mistakes you made previously and yesterdays mistakes can't hold you down. this connects with my life because i don't let yesterdays mistakes hold me down. also once the day is over i don't think about what happens previously unless it is something that i can correct. this is what i think about about this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Forget the problems of today and look forward to tomorrow is how I would sum up this quote. The author is talking about how you shouldn't let the "nonsense" that troubled you today, ruin your day tomorrow. Look at the glass half full even when its been emptied. By forgetting the mishaps, you can look at the bright side and live life to the fullest. In my opinion, this quote is extremely important. A lot of people take the little bad things that happen and revolve their entire week around it, making everyone else have a bad day too. Instead they can still look at the little things, but the good ones. The little actions that make you smile. Don't let a little frown ruin your day, erase it and put on a smile for tomorrow.

This is a great quote, and it means to not worry about the past, and enjoy today. For you cant change the past, so you may as well not worry about it and try to enjoy the new day. I agree with this quot, because it is often futile to worry about things you can not change. Also your only on earth so long, and you could die any time so you should try to enjoy life wile you can. A simpler way to say this is to not live in the past, live in the present. i try and live buy this philosophy and not trouble myself with events of the past. For example if i get a bad report card, and my parents are angry, it dose trouble me, but i don't keep woring about it, i get over it and i try to do better the next time.

TO me this quote means that you should go through each day and accept what you do and what happens. Dont look back at the errors of the past. Only look at whats in front of you. SO for instance if something happens today that I dislike, I shouldnt think about it and regret it tomorow. I should just forget about it and go on with my life. But I dont follow this. Come to think of it, this should be a golden rule to follow in life. It would reduce a lot of stress in peoples lives. But not many people at all follow this rule. Hopefully in the futue I can follow this golden rule. It may improve my lifestyle, you never know until you try.

What first came to my mind when i read this quote was, you can't live in the past. If you are just having the worst day ever, and nothing is going your way, keep you chin up, there is still a tomorrow. If you may have messed up, or did something that you may regret, there is always another day. Learn from your mistakes, don't let them wear on you. People think, why me? Why is all this happening to me. Truth is, it happens to everyone, everyone has their good days, and everyone has their not so good days. But the things is, you can always count on tomorrow to come, to be a better day. Tomorrow is a new day, start it fresh, good, and with no worries about yesterday or they day before. When tomorrow comes, make it the best day it can be.

This quote really sums up how life should truly be. It explains how life should be lived for today, in this one moment because in reality it is all we've got. In my life I feel like I live by this quote about half way. I dwell on mistakes that I've made, but I'm slowly learning my lesson. I can be stubborn, and that really interferes with living by Emerson's words. Although, I do live in the moment and I try to make the best of things. Day by day, things may change. Sometimes I can be positive and just not have a worry or care in the world, and sometimes It's the total opposite. Overall, my goal is to abide by this lifestyle.

This quote is basically saying that you should live more in the presents rather than the past. Worrying about things that happened yesterday shoudn't matter. The things that happened the day before are done, and you cannot change them. I'm the kind of person that worries about the past. The things I do usually affect my life for days, or weeks. So, I'll admit that I should let things go and learn to live in the moment. If you focus too much on the past, you will forget how things should be, and what you're supposed to do. The 'nonsense' should be put in the past.

To me, this quote talks about how a person lives their life. This person always does what they can to make it a good day. Even though some little things may come in and upset the balance, just shove it aside and move onto the next thing. When you wake up the next morning, don't live in the past and what you did yesterday. Let's say that you forgot your lunch money the day before. Don't let that get in the way of you having a good day because the past is in the past and there is nothing you can do about it now. So start your day off right by having a good day and try to keep it that way. Don't let your happy-go-lucky additude be interrupted by what happened before. You should learn from your mistakes but always keep moving forward with your life.

This quote is the pure defintion of what life day by day should be. However, as much as most of us would love to live this way we simply cannot. You see many people bring their unfoutunate happenings from the day before into the next. This includes problems in the home, office, economy, and many more. If we all learned to clean our slate every night this might not happen. This quote also tells me that we should live our days to its highest potential until you cant get anything else more out of it. If we all did this we would go home feeling accomplished. Out of this whole quote i think a short explanation of it would be just have fun with life, dont hold grudges, and make your day the best it can possibly be.

A lot of people overlook this quote when it is very important to many people. This quote means to do everything to your best but even though you will make mistakes, don't worry about them. When you make a mistake just make sure to not let it bother you and just look on. My coach says something a lot like that "make every stride count so you dont have to look back." Although this has to do with hockey it also has to do with this quote because it you do everything to the best of your ability then you will never have to regret your mistakes. These quotes are very similar and have can mean the same thing just put into different terms. This is a very important quote but yet many times overlooked.

This quote actually relates to me. I always tell myself tomarrow will be better. Then the next day it sometimes gets worse cuz you heald something off like i always do. Basicly Ralph is saying what you do in one day is in the past and that was then this is now, live in the preasent not the past. Most of the time people wake up and worry about things that happened yesterday. I kind of try not to but sometimes it's just to great to just push away and act like nothing ever happened. For highschool we really shouldn't follow this tho. We should say alert and on our toes and not put things off till the last possible minuet.

This quote mean live life to the fullest and learn from your mistakes. It means every day is a new one.It means dont make the same mistake a diffrent day. This connects to my philosphy because i belive that every day is a new one and its a new chance to learn from your mistakes. Your mistakes dont have to make you depressed and effet your tomarrow. You should start each day with high hopes. Each day is a new one and you should live it to the fullest
