We finished the movie which dealt with the ideas of perceptions and social injustices. This idea will continue to unfold as we begin talking about Of Mice and Men in regards to how people view the different characters.
For this evening:
Pick a movie or tv show which depicts a character who may be perceived one way in the beginning but is not really how they seem. Give specific examples of how the perception is wrong and how we, as the viewer, come to understand the character better. Then, give an example of a time when someone may have misperceived you or an action by you.

A show in which someone is misperceived is 24. The man is Jack Bauer. All of the government think that he is a bad person because of the way that he gets the information that he needs. He is actaully doing it the way it should be done. He treats criminals like criminals and nothing more than that. The other people in the government want to treat everybody like they are an ordinary citizen and give them full rights. When they shouldnt be treated good at all, because of what they threaten to do to others and the rest of the country. One time I was misperceived by someone. I was once hanging out with a bunch of friends and saw one of my old friends from elementary school. They saw who I was hanging out with and thought that I had changed in some dramatic way, which wasnt good. I told them that I havent changed at all, Im still the same person.

P.S. I have to talk to you about a missing assignment....
The show I pick is The Secret Life of the American Teenager. The character that I feel is perceived wrong in the beginning is Ricky, at first he was all about sex. Now that he has gotten Amy prego, I think he is starting to grow up a little. He now knows that having sex can come with responsibility's. In the beginning he was also known as someone who used people for sympathy. I think he still does use people but only because he never really had anyone there for him. A time when someone misperceived me was when I had gotten suspended. I have NEVER been suspended before let alone a right up, but i have had some detentions. I don't want to be known for my bad choices but for the good things I do.

Mr. Kay,
Like last time, I will be talking about Spider-Man. I want to say that the reason I pick this character time after time is because he plays a big part in the comic book community. He is one of the most famed superheroes of our generation, with subplots in life that deal specifically with perception. So anyway, at the beginning of the movie/comic book, Spider-Man is looked at as a questionable character. People don't know what to think of him. Some say he is a much needed vigilante, others say he is a a menace, being just as bad as the people committing the crimes. In the movie, as I recall, there is a scene where there is testimonials of what people think of the little spider. As the audience looks at him, I am pretty sure the most of us say he is one of the greatest superheroes ever, and if he was in our lives, we would be grateful. I think since the starting, from Peter Parker's discovery of powers, to the death of any major villain, we know it is just for the best. Still some say that hes is not welcome. In the first spider man movie, he is just getting first impressions. In Spider-Man II, when he retires for a bit, some people miss him, others just say whatever. In the latest, number three, when he turns black, people don't get strong disapproval of him and his new style because it is a lot darker. Like Spider-man, we are all not been perceived properly. I think me, just like any skateboarder, gets looked at like an idiot kid who just wants to ruin society and is not an asset to the community. People who honestly get to know me understand that I am a well to do kid that gets good grades, and likes nature, and has never really done the majority of what supposedly skaters do. I think everyone gets perceived in a wrong way; me, you, and even Peter Parker.

In the tv show friday night lights jason street is perceived wrong. In the beginning we think that he is just a jock football player and we think that all he cares about is girls. In later episodes he gets paralyzed while playing football. We get to see the other side of him which is sensitive, smart, and caring. I think that if he didn't get paralyzed we would have never saw this. For example, he gets a girl pregnant and does everything he can to get money and help raise his son. Before, i think we would have perceived him not to care at all, and just blow the situation off. I think that people mispercieve me all the time. For example, when I first met this person I didn't say much and was really quiet. Now, as I get to know the person better I can be myself. So, I think a lot of people think of me as a shy person at first.

I think i tv show that shows change in perception is house. They see him as a addict doctor and a annoying ass. In all reality he is a amazing doctor with some problems. In one episode they perceive him as wrong and arrogant about a patients sickness. Turns our he was partially wrong about it. Something I was perceived about was when I was working. I was listing to what I had to do then walked away mid sentence. That agrivatied my dad but before he realized what I was doing I ended up doing a better job then what he wanted.

The character from Heroes I'm going to choose is Sylar. At first he is depicted as a selfish and mysterious murderer for no apparent reason. He continues to be a selfish badass until some events occur Ect ect (I don't want to spoil it). At a flash back episode show when he got his ability. And the "then" Slylar and the "now" Slylar are completely different. When he had gotten his powers he wore thick glasses and a sweater vest(I didn't even KNOW those existed anymore!), he was socially awkward and had a over bearing conscience. Quite a turnaround for him.
"If you keep trying to be my friend...I'm going to have to kill you."
Well I don't know of a time when someone has misconceive me, I've racked my brain for a good 15 minutes and still cant find anything. sorry

I think that in the movie Miracle Herb Brooks was misconcieved. I think that he was percieved as a jerk by all of his players and mot people who saw the movie. I think that he was trying to teach them life lessons and make them stronger as a team and individual. I think that as we get along with the movie and see herb around his family more we see a nicer and more caring side to him. How he is laid back on christmas and how he talks to people before the russian game to say hes done all he can and hopes all the lessons he has passed on help them in the game. I think that many people see me as a jerk because i like to be funny. Dont take it personal, im really just speaking my mind and have a very blunt sense of humor and am meaning no harm by it. I think that for those who know me closely (no homo) that im really caring and im always there for someone.

The show that I choose was The Secerct Life of the American Teenager. The character that I thought was beign percevied was Amy. Ok so she got pregnaet. So what. People was calling her a whore and a slut because she had sex. It as her first time. I feel bad for her, nobody wanted to talk to her. Her friends parents would not let her children talk to her. It was so sad. Ricky took advantage of her. In my life Sam Casteel didn't like me at all when we were little. She hated me. For the longest time I could not figure out why. Then just like magic she started talking to me. At frist it was a little weird she was talking to me. Anyway after a little while we became BFFS. Oh Ya.

Okay so a movie that im going to pick is "A walk to remember" i dont remember the characters names but in the movie they live in a small town in the south. And the main girl character- is perceived as a church loving freak that always wears sweaters. then the hardass guy another main character- is perceived as a trouble maker that could never change, everyone thought hed stay in the hole he dug his self in. but in the beggining of the movie he got in trouble so he ended up having to do community service (tutoring and a major role in a play) he took nothing seriously, until the girl showed him what she thought of him. they fell in love blahhh. he started to take life more seriously and fell for this good girl, no one saw this coming. they both are good people with a little bit of a wild side, i recomend this movie, its great! someone has misperceived me by, that im a cheerleader, so some people think im mean. im really not mean at all, many cheerleaders are nice some arent, but in the lunch line i saw a girl that was like "do i look good?..I actually tried today..someone repsonded then she looked at me and was like "atleast im not a cheerleader" i dont know what that means but the tone was mean. but i actually became good friends with someone that i hated, so dont judge people, NOT worth it.

The movie that I pick is shallow hale. This is a movie about a guy who is only able to see what is on the inside. In the begining he only looked at people on howthey looked on the outside. He criticised everyone and wanted a perfect girlfriend. Later in in the movie he is only able to see the inner beauty of people. So the really ugly people who are really nice looked relly hot. This movie teaches that beauty is not on the outside but on the inside. People have to see the inner beauty in other people and look at the person that is with in. One time one someone miss lead me was when I meet this one kid. When I first meet him he was really shy. Later on I got to know him and he told me that I was diffent than he first saw me. He said that I looked really mean and was going to be an asshole. But ince he got to know me he realized that I was really nice.

In the Sandlot, the kids are always hitting homeruns over the fence. It lands in the "beast's" domain, and the kids are terrified of it. They try many attempts to get their balls back but never accomplish getting them. They once tried a vaccum, which the beast broke by bitting it. Towards the end, the kids grow some balls and go to the house and find out the owner once played baseball. They learn the beast isnt that bad at all. and they eventually become good friends. A time when I was misperceived was when I drifted my mothers van into a snow bank. When this happened, another vehical came about and I waved them to keep moving. I was sure I could get out with trouble, although the other driver must of thought I was a bad driver, which isnt true.

A character from a movie would be Max from Get Smart. At the beginning of the movie he was perceived as a person who worked in the control building. Then when he gets peromoted to be an agent he is perceived that he will mess up and cause trouble. Some examples of how perception is wrong would be that some people thought he wouldn't make a good field agent. Some other people said he would. The last time that I was misperceived because i'm shy people might think i'm not firendly . They also might think i'm antisocial.

I chose Dwight, from The Office. Even though dwight does some stupid things, it doesnt mean he should automatically be picked on. It seems like everyone that works in the office, plays pranks on dwight just because he is different. Dwight rarely shows emotion, so people like to make him mad. Inside, i know dwight is a person that wants to be nice to others and is just looking out for everyone. Mike, the boss, is nicer to dwight than all other co-workers. I think mike sees that dwight deep down, is a kind person. My friend misperceived me when i said something about her parents, when really the sentence came out wrong. She took what i said the wrong way, instead of realizing that what i said wasnt what i meant. She then treated me differently, and acted different around me. She eventually realized that i didnt mean it, and then she wasnt mad at me anymore.

First movie charater that i think of that is perceived one way in the beginning, but is not really how they seem would be Shrek. In the beginning Shrek is at this house in HIS swamp and is crashing the party in his house. Many at this point see him as self centered and mean ogre. But later in the movie he falles in love with the pricess he is sent to save, this brings out how caring and nice he really can be. The donkey which really bothers him in the beginning, soon becomes his best freind, and he learn to acept him. After awhile Shrek seems like a human, thats how he cares about others by the end of the story. A time that someone misperceived me was when i got a good grade on a test and others saw me as a know-it all or a nerd.

A show in which a character is perceieved as a differentperson from who they truly are is The United States Of Tarah. In the show she has multiple personality disorder. In the beginning she is perceieved is a crazy woman who can not keep it together. However She lives a normal married life and has two kids. Through out the series you learn she is a very normal, caring mother, besides the fact she is four different people. A time when I was perceieved as someone very different then who I actually am was yesterday. I was at subway with my mother she asked me a question and I gave her a snobbish remark, although I was kidding the lady at the front asked my mother if I was a handful. If you know my mothers and I relationship you know I would never intentially disrespect her. I was perceieved as a brat when I was just joking around.
I think Jack Bauer in 24 gets perceived wrong. Jack Bauer is a good guy in the show that gets things done the hard way. When the government has found out that Jack does this they dont want him to help them. Whenever Jack is told to interogate a criminal he will go distances to get the information out of them. That is why the government does want Jack to do it becuase he hurts the criminal or even kills them when they need information out of them. Jack actually is not that bad of a person and he needs to do what he needs to do. He gets the job done it just might be done the hard way. Sometimes some people might misperceive me as a quiet person. In all reality I am not really that quiet. I get relly quiet when I dont know someone very well or when I dont know anybody at all.

A movie I recently have seen where a character is perceived one way in the beginning of the movie, and then the perception is changed at the end is The Uninvited. In the beginning you think that the main character is a victim to her mother's murder. During the movie, more and more evidence appears that leads you to believe that her step-mom is the murderer of her mother. In the end you find that your perception was very false. It turns out that the main character was a psychopath who returned to her home to revenge on her father's affair. You find out that the main character had really been the one who killed her mother(accidentally), and only came back to kill her step-mom. I felt bad for the step-mom, because she was there to care for her step-daughter after the accident with her mother, and ended up being an innocent victim. Of course, this is a very extreme case of false perceptions, but it proves that perceptions can be false. I think that everyone is mispercieved at one time or another. Because I am quiet around people I don't know well, I could be perceived as stuck up or really shy. Truth is, I just need time to get to know someone.
In the tv show One Tree Hill the head cheerleader (Brooke) seems shalow and like a spoiled brat. She appears to only look out for herself. However, as the seasons go on, you relize that she is actually very deep and will do anything for her friends. In one eposode, she got caught stealing a test, and people were under the impression that she was doing it for herself. However, you later find out that she stole it for a friend, because without a good grade she would have not graduated. Since she was looking out for a friend, she got suspended due to taking the fall. You also relize that her parents are horible people and Brooke was just raised to act that way. Her home life is actually falling apart. People mispercieve me all the time. When I'm not comfortable around a person I'm really quiet. However, if I get used to someone I'll become myself and talk a lot.

the tv show that comes to mind for me is the 'big bang theory'.(its on at mondays at 8) the show is about all these nerds who are sharing this apartment together and their next door neighbor is this hot chick. your first time watching the show you may assume that shes really stuck up and would want nothing to do with the geeks. but, as you keep watching you find out that shes really cool and hangs out with them all the time. in this one episode she actually gets really hooked on playing this one interet game that one of the guys in the apartment shows her and the like wouldnt leave her apartment for weeks. a time someone may have mispeceived me was in 8th grade when i went to track for the first time. a persons outter apperance can heavily have an affect on the way you jude them.

Mr.kay im sorry but i dont get this blog and i dont really remember anything like this in any tv shows or movies. Im sorry
The movie that i chose is To Kill A Mocking Bird. In the beginning of the movie, everyone in the town perceives Boo Radley as this creepy, mysterious character. No one really gives Boo Radley a chance, they just listen to rumors about him. In the movie, I kind of felt sorry for him, because everyone was afraid of him. He was just this reclusive person that never came out of his house, and thats a big reason why people made these bad perceptions. But by the end of the movie, when Scout and her brother were being attacked, Boo Radley helped them out. This really changed the perceptions of him, now people in the town saw him as this caring helpful person. The only example i can think of is at first, i can come across as a quiet or shy person, but once you get to know me, you see a differnt side of me.

The tv show that i pick is " That 70's Show". The Charactor that is usually perceived one way in the beginning but is not really how they seem in the end is Fez. The first time you see him you think he is mentaly challenged. As the show goes on you see that he is just an idiot sometimes, but is usually right about other peoples problems. In the beginning you see a funny looking guy with a weird lisp. In the end you look past that and see a guy who is always confused because he is from another country. Well when someone first meets me they say "oh another fat kid". But once they get to know me they see someone who can make them laugh and is a really nice friend. At least i hope thats what people think of me.

The movie I choose to write about is "Rudy". During the movie Rudy is known as to small to play in college football. He is looked down at by most and is put down by even his own family. Rudy shows he can work by making a promise to get good grades in the school to play on the football team. He does hard work to accomplish his tasks. Eventualy he does play in the last game and shows how even having a negative perception from most can become positive.
A way I was misperceived was when people did not believe I was an expert shooter. Most people I know hardly even understand what I do for a hobby because it is diferent from others. I shoot on a small bore rifle team for the NRA, (National Rifle Association). Right now I'm the top shooter at the range. When I say to people that I'm a certified expert shooter its hard for them to believe a kid my age can even think of that. I attend competitions around the state for metals and rank. Currently my range officers are keeping my scoring targets to give to my college for a scholarship if I continue at this rate. I hope this will get me into some decent law enforcement job after school. This is one thing I was misperceived on and had to share.
The movie that I find to be very good is 'Step Brothers'. The character I am choosing is Derek. During the movie, Derek seems to be an irrogant asshole. He is always a dick to Brennen and Dale by making fun of them and he always brags and wants to be the center of attention. Towards the end of the movie, Derek really shows how he feels. He gives Brennen a chance to work for him, and he proves how well he can do. After Brennen pulls off the Catalina Wine Mixer, Derek is more than happy. He doesn't know how to express his feelings towards Brennen. The perception of Derek is wrong because at the Catalina Wine Mixer when Brennen is singing, Derek is seeing flashbacks of him and Brennen as children and how they got along. This shows that Derek wasn't always an asshole and didn't always hate Brennen. One time when people percieved me as something I'm not was when I failed a test. After that, many people thought I was stupid. I'm not stupid in general, I was just stupid for not studying for the test.

Mr. Kay,
A TV show that I feel the main character is misperceived is House. House is a doctor at one of the major hospitals in the TV series, he is perceived as a stuck-up snoty doctor thats to good for himself. When really he is one of the top doctors, he has a personallity that strikes people dumbfounded when they realize that Dr. House finds the sypmtoms and cures for about every single problem. Doctor House has the constant need to tell the patients the truth and nothing but the truth, no matter if it's the worst news, he doesn't feel for the patient. When patients meet Dr. House, they get sucked into thinking that he is this self centered man who couldn't care less about what other people think of him. When in the end, past all of the smart-mouth comments, House seems to always find what the problem is. I was once misperceived by someone. Back in middle school, I was on the track team. I did long distance, hurtles, and (one of my favorites) the high jump. One day my coach, Mr. Wilkins, called me over. He told me that with my long legs that I should try out for the high jump, leading in the path that my older brother was on. So when I tried out, Mr. Wilkins thought that I should be part of the high jump team. I decided to give it a try. Some people thought that I was like a teachers pet because I was the only 8th grader to get into the high jump. But I tried to make them understand that because me and my brother are both tall, that we followed in the same footsteps, that I wasn't anything special.

I think in the TV show 'The Big Band Theory' (I know Andy used it too but it was my idea first). There are two nerds who room together and two more that come over all the time. There is also a hot girl across the hall named Penny who seems like she would be against all contact with them. She has great social skills, and Leonard and Sheldon are book smart. However, as you watch the show, although she gets annoyed by Sheldon (one of the nerds), she actually enjoys hanging out with them. She even eats dinner with them a lot, and her and Leonard even go out in one of the episodes. It is a really funny show but also shows how she is easily mispercieved. People mispercieve me all the time. They think I am a smart person who only cares about school and my future. But the truth is that, while I do care about my future, I actually enjoy hanging out with friends. The people that have gotten to know me will probably say good things about me (i hope).
A movie that a person was misperceived was "I am Sam" with Sean Penn. This was about a mentally challanged man that fathers a child. The mother left the baby at birth and Sam raised her. Even though he was mentally challanged he provided her with a good loving home. The state decided that Sam was not capable of taking care of his daughter because they didn't feel he couldn't provide her with an environment that she could continue to learn. Sam was perceived as not being able to take care of his daughter because she was ahead of him in his years of education. Sam was able to prove to the family that was going to adopt her that he could give her the love, support, and learning environment and they gave him his daughter to raise. An example of how someone might have misperceived me as being disrespectful is when my cousin thought I was not listening to him. He thought I was ignoring him; that was not the case- because of my hearing loss sometimes people think I am not paying attention. Sometimes other people have the same misconception, I consider myself a respectful person and sometimes it's frustrating to be misjudged on something I have no control over.
In Office Space, Milton is perceived to me a weak, nerdy, worthless person. He was continuously taken advantage of, and barely had a say in the things people did to him. When Lumburgh laid him off, but never told him, Milton always thought he was still working for Inetech. They thought he was just plain stupid, thick headed, and impossible to get through because of his obsession over his (limited edition) Red Swingline stapler. (They don't make thos anymore!)
And when they started bullying him more and more, Milton couldn't take it, and "set the building on fire". :3 He is a whiney, yet very violent, man. WHAT A TWIST! :D
For the longest time, many people in this highschool have perceived me as a very butch lesbian. I don't know why, and I don't care. It's not true, and I know it. Yes, I have many female friends, but so does every other highschool girl. So why pick on the art nerd who's still relativly new?

But, then you see that she is very smart and does good in school and is actually very nice. And as the show goes on, you start to see her true side and how she isn't really like how she acted before. An example of when someone misperceived me was when one of my friends now, thought that since I was quiet I was mean. But, once she got to know me she saw that im not mean and that im nice.I think its weird how people can misperceive people and miss out on meeting new people based on the misperception, I think as humans we do it all the time.

In the movie Stick It there are a lot examples of people changing their perceptions. first the main character Hailey is percieved as a girl always getting into trouble. later we find out why she acts the way she does and that she had problems with her parents. aslo she percieves her coach as someone in it just for the money but relizes that he actually cares about them and wants them to succeed. she says she doesn't liked to be judged but her gymnastics coach told her that that was funny because she was one of the most judgemental people he has ever met. i found that very true because a lot of people say they don't like it when people talk about them when they don't know them but they do it about others. usually people that don't know me think i am extremly quiet and probably think i don't even know how to talk. however, once i become friends with you i am toatally different. sometimes my friends tell me how people tell them how shy they think i am and they just laugh and tell them that i am really not.
The show House depicts many different perceptions of the doctor Dr. House. His main boss is always criticizing him and telling him that he is crazy. His other coworkers think his ideas are completely messed up. He has hunches and guesses many times and people yell at him for it. He is perceived by many other people including his patients as a terrible person. People think he is a jerk because he does things without an explanation. He believes he's correct and 99% of the time he is. Whenever it comes to crunch time, he always pulls through and cures the patients. Just watching the show once allows you to make a proper perception of him. At first you think he is an idiot who is constantly sarcastic but later on in the show he always is right. The tests he performs are the correct ones and people who watch the show see that he really isn't that bad of a guy. People misperceive me all the time. When I first meet someone I get all quiet and I don't interact with them at all. However once I get into my comfort zone, I have a great time and people get to know the real me.

Pick a movie or tv show which depicts a character who may be perceived one way in the beginning but is not really how they seem. Give specific examples of how the perception is wrong and how we, as the viewer, come to understand the character better. Then, give an example of a time when someone may have misperceived you or an action by you.
Mr. Kay,
A show where a character is depicted one way but is actually another is Scrubs. Dr. Cox is his name. From the beginning he's seen as an indvidual that can deal with every situation. Yet he can't deal with problems that have to do with his friends or family having some kind of sickness. He breaks down avoid those times usually. I was watching an episode earlier where Dr. Cox's friend Ben went to the hospital with Leukemia. The moment the topic of wether Dr. Cox would be there for Ben during the surgery he told him that he was busy and avoided seeing Ben at the hospital for a while. A time when someone misperceived me would be when someone thought I was when a friend of mine thought I was the toughest kid around and nothing could shake me. Well they were wrong, many things have left me speechless and distrought. There have been times when I didn't even know what to do with myself or how to deal with what was happening to me. So I'm not tough, there are things in this world that make me feel horrible and sad, just makes me human.

A show where someone is mispercieved is NCIS. The person that is being mispercieved is abby. Most of the time people are kind of scared of her because she always dresses in blsck and has a lot of tatoos and things like that. So pretty much people just think she is an evil kind of person. However she is probably the nicest person in the whole show but untill you don't get to know her some are scared of her. The perception is completely wrong because of the factor people go based on the looks of people and some don't even talk to the person. So one might of mispercieved me when i get mad on the golf course and think i am a crazy mad guy. When really thats just me after i have a bad shot and they don't really get to see me.

It happens all the time to everyone. People spread rumors after rumors and no one really knows anyone. This happened to me last year. All the rumors, were not true at all! people never really got to know me they just know me from what they hear. That kinda bugs me that there gonna go and believe what other people say without not knowing who i really am. I still hear rumors this year. its their choice if they believe it or not i don't really care anymore. You should never believe what you hear, it could be true but than again it could be as fake as the person who told you.

When he found out that his vision wasn't good enough he started swearing and crying and was very very upset and then I think his family felt bad for not noticing when we knew all along. The people that perceive me wrong are my youngest brothers and the girls I babysit for. To them, I'm the coolest person in the world and get whatever I want and have the easiest life. They think that I'm miss popular and they want to be just like me. But I guess its like that with a lot of little kids because I'm older.
Since i have already done the movie step brothers i think ill do The Rocker.
In the Rocker Dwight from the office plays a drummer whom is really good but gets kicked off his band in order for the rest of his band to recieve a shot and deal with matchbook records. well instead of saying no to the deal they decided to screw over the drummer and move on.
After this occurance dwight (the drummer) moves into his sisters house whos son plays in a band and is looking for a drummer. Let me clarify that he has not played drums in over 20 years so he is not exactly into doing so. But he gives it a shot. They first preformed together at the school prom and was doing good for a great amount of time until he got to into the drums and screwed it all up. The band members were disapointed and percieved that he was just a old man that was a joke. After this occurance they had a band meeting and decided to give him another shot. They made the right decision. They called around and got a couple gigs to play. They did great and started traveling. After doing great they were signed by matchbook studios and were offered to play the encore to his old bands introduction into the rock and roll hall of fame. He told everyone that he could not do it.
Now im starting to just get off topic.
Were im trying to get is that dwights character was percieved by the kids a an old guy that was a big joke and that would never be able to play.
Over lasty years baseball season i found that i made many mistakes onwhich lead to mispercievement by the coaches torwards me. None of what happened or took place is not the real conner. i look back with regret and wondering why i ever did half of what i did. This was not the real conner in which they percieved me to be.

Then, give an example of a time when someone may have misperceived you or an action by you.
In the movie Garden State, Zach Braff portrays what seems to be a very depressed person. The beginning of the movie expresses his dull lifestyle of repetitive behavior. No matter the situations he finds himself in he doesn't react emotionally or physically to them. Later in the movie he tells his psychiatrist that he wants to be take off of his medication. After he is taken off of the medication, or rather he just stops taking it, he reacts to the environment. When trials and choices confront him he reacts physically or verbally. As the viewer of the movie we were unaware that his medication in a way, was making him numb. As viewers all we saw is a depressed boring character. When he no longer takes his medication we understand him more fully. A time i was misperceived was yesterday. I wasn't feeling good and i was waiting in line at CVS. which always takes forever. Feeling ill i just really wanted to go home, as the person in front of me contemplated if she was going to pay with cash or credit. Annoyed that all i was buying was a 99 cent drink i threw my dollar bill on the counter and said sorry i'm in a hurry. I was probably perceived as an impatient bitch, which i was at the time. But regarding the circumstances my personality was altered and I'm really not a impatient bitch.
In the movie Step Up, the main character Tyler is perceived as a teen who causes trouble and is just living life without thinking about consequences. He trashes an arts school, parties all the time, lives in a run down area of town, and steals cars to make money. Once he is charged with community service for damaging public property, we begin to see his true character. Tyler starts to work hard at dancing at the school. After one of his close friends is killed, he realizes that there is more to life than just partying and fun. He chooses to make something more out of his life and through his hard work he gets accepted into the fine arts school. We see that his true character is loving and that he is just sometimes misunderstood. A funny example of a time when someone misperceived me was when I was walking with my brother. His friend saw my brother and said hi. Then, he glanced at me and back at my brother and asked who his "friend" was. My brother started laughing and explained to him that we were not dating, we were brother and sister. Sometimes people can misperceive just by the way you look or who you're with.

The show i pick would be rob and big. Rob is perceived as a bad guy because he skates and lives different then most people. He is a good person because he doesnt do anything to harm anyone and if u watch the show he is really a nice guy. Also the other charector big black is perceived as a big fat mean person. When really he is just a giant teddy bear. People perceive me to be a bad person or whatever because i snowboard and i skateboard and "those arn't technically sports". Well i think thats bullshit because im a human being don't just not like me beause of what i do.
a tv show with a lt of perceptions is the show house. all the people in there see house as a horrible person. all they see in him is drug addictions and nothing good. but in reality he is a amazing doctor. he really knows what to do when it get down to the nitty gritty. he may have a bad attitude towards everyone but he gets stuff done. when i had some chores i needed to do my mom mispercieved me. but when she got home she saw that i did a great job.
On the show "That 70's SHow" Kelso is percieved as the dumbass, who wont go anywhere. He is used as thier entertainment in a way becasue they think his stupiditly is funny. They doubt him on his abilities and ideas. Really, he has atleast some common sence and over all can make good decisions. People can percieve me as many things. It depends on the day, sometimes. Either I can be the funny, cool person, or maybe the not-so-girly girl. Other times I can seem different tho. Perceptions can never be true because even the person doesnt know who they tuley are.

In the movie "Batman the Dark Knight" the idea of perception and social injustice are perfectly shown in this movie. At the beginning of the movie people like him and want to be like him. And by the end of the movie people think that he isn't protecting there city but only causing more trouble. Everyone in the city of Gotham wants to find out who Batman really is. But Bruce Wayne has to live a double lifestyle to protect his family and friends to maintain his secret identity of Batman. Bruce is a very popular man but when he is Batman he has to hide himself from society. So he basically causes social injustice towards himself. At the end of the movie he becomes a hero again but realizes he must stop living a double lifestyle and live like a normal person. When I was younger I was always trying to be the funny guy. But now I see that my education is an important thing for me to exceed in life. So I am trying to take my educational career more serious.

In the movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone the main character Harry perceived that Severus Snape is the evil one in the story and is trying to set the Sorcerer’s Stone. At the end of the movie Harry finds out that is was Quirrell has been the one that has trying to get the stone. Snape was trying to save him. Harry found the reason why Snape tried to save Harry was that Harry’s dad saved Snape’s life when they were both kids.
Once on a trip I was homesick. Several people called me a crybaby for wanting to go home. The truth was I wasn’t crying. I didn’t want to be on the trip any more. I wanted to go home.
The movie that I have chosen that has to deal with perceptions and being perceived one way then in the end a completely different. Well, as of now I'm watching a movie called "A Walk to Remember". In this movie there is a guy named Landon and in the beginning of the movie he comes of hard, angry at the world, only wants to be with his friends. As the movie goes on he begins to fall hard for a girl his has known his entire life and has thought nothing of her, Jamie. She on the other hand is the completely opposite of Landon. As he begins to fall in love with her, he finds himself changing. While his friends continue being the same jerky people, they start to be harsh and rude to him. Jamie's father the priest didn't think much of Landon. He thought that he was the same boy that he's always been, and would never change. When Landon proves him wrong, he soon realizes what good that has been in Landon all along. It was covered with anger. A time where I have been miss percieved, is when I was on the cheer team last year. People thought I didn't fit in there, because I didn't fit the description. Meaning, I was shy and kept to myself, while the other's went out. Soon after, cheer just didn't feel the same not for those reasons though. This is how I have been miss percieved.

The show i pick would be lost. The character Ben, at the begining seems to be one of the bad guys. he seems like he is trying to kill everyone on the island at first. But now that some people left is is trying to get them to all come back. To save the people that were left behind. a time when someone may have misperceived me would be when i was younger. We were with our friend taylor and we went to the store and someone asked if we were triplets. When we werent even related.
idk if thats a right example or not?
the movie that i would have to be 8 mile. the reason that i pick this movie is that it has a few perceptions being made of him in all different ways. the character would be the main character Eminem. in the beginning of he got up on stage to freestyle rap by he froze on stage. as the movie went along he started to do little freestyle around his friends till he got better. at the end of the movie he went up agents a crew called "free world", in that crew there were 5 people and he stepped up and humiliated them off stage. i can't really think of a time when some one has misinterpreted the way i am in a serious way.
Tonight, i will be talking about the movie step Brothers. in the beginning, both Dale and Brennan see each others as enemies because their parent are now married, and neither of them like change, especially dale, because brennan is pretty much getting a free walk into dales house. the both view each other this way, well, because they are forty years old. both think the other is different, because they don';t like the other ones parent. the also do not know in the beginning what they have in common, so they don't try to have any fun, because neither knows what the other does for his Activities. but once they both get to know each other when the TV is taken away, and they reminisce over hall and oates "you make my dreams com true, and they go through a montage of awesome sword slashing pumpkins, and punching bags of chips, all of which in business clothes, both come to know each other way way better. they both develop a fondness of the other, and do so much more activities with each other. and once they become the best step borthers out there, well, we can see how the boundaries of 40 plus years of not having a life can be overcame. Now, a lot of the time, and i am fully aware of it now, is that i come off to strong to people, like, i get burst of times where i ask to much of people. and a lot of the time, people don't get why i do so, and a lot of time, its just because i have so much information to share to often, that people need to know. and i incoherently ramble to much, so i repeat and repeat myself, and to me, thats how i come of way to strong to people, and very many people misconceive me on that fact.
Had a blast talking about step brothers.

A movie when someone was misperceived is Radio. A mentally handicapped kid is seen as a disturbance when he begins helping out a football team. Their are parents that think the coaches are paying more attention to Radio rather than the player. After a while everyone on the football team who said he was stupid and a waste of time all began to like him. It's bad to look at someone differently because of what appears on the outside. In Radio the kid had problems but he had a sweet heart and was very caring. The only thing I can think of when someone mispercieved me is when i ran cross country and no one thought I was good. Then at the first race I took first. I really think that i made people look at me differently.
A perfect example would have to be the hunchback of Rotterdam. In the beginning he is viewed as a monster, no one liked him. They thought that he like to hide up in the bell tower and stay away from people. The owner of the bell tower even threatens him if he try's to go down to be with the "normal people". In the end everyone begins to notice that he isn't just a big monster but is really kind. I think this is very shallow of people when they only judge by looks instead of actually talking to them. A time some one misperceived me was when I carelessly forgot to do a homework assignment. The new teacher thought I was a slacker. After a few weeks the perception changed because I turned in every home work assignment after that.
Sorry, My computer would not let on the blog last night so i had to wait till this morning to get my moms laptop.

I'll pick John Proctor from 'The Crucible' that we learned last semester. At first, John seemed to be having cold characteristics and for his adultery that he committed before with Abbigail his image was of a pretty immoral person. But as we get to close to the end, we find out that John is refusing to falsely confess of witchcraft, even there were bunch of people who saved their lives for falsely confessing and who died for not falsely confessing, for his conscience and the mind to choose what's right thing to do. When I was very young, around 7 years old, I was kind of bullying kid by influence from the highschool students, which located right next to our school. For that reason, whenever something happened in classroom, the teachers accused me and my friends of the fault. But by the next year, I met a teacher, who was really really really stubborn and scary, who changed my whole attitude. Then everyone got surprised by my changes and they, as well as I, realized that I was not instinctly bad guy but actually because of bad environmental causes.
A show in which someone is misperceived is House. The main character Gregory House, he trys to sheild himself away from people when he is trying to think. When he does this, people think that he is an unsocialble person and doesn't to interact with people. He is a very inteeligent man and thats why people come from all over the world to be treated by him. But what they don't realize is that he tends not to really visit with his paients, and they don't like that. Most of them don't understand how he is able to dieagnose someone that he's nevefr meet. He has a team so that he can have a faster dieagnoses and hopefully get them out of the hospitale faster. House isn't a very friendly person to begin with so when someone he doesn't like trys to mess with he'e able to take a small insecurity and make the other person feel horrible. He is minipulative and will do anything in his power to find the answer. Most people don't realize that what he does, is his way of soveling a mystery, so they tend not to like him. But in the end it all pays off and the paient gets better and their perception changes. I see this in every episode

mr.Kay,
For my blog I chose a charater from my favorite TV show, Reba. In this show there is a character named barbra jean. throughout the seasons she is put out there to be a loud, ignorant, bubbly blond who dosnt understand when people don't want her around. Well, the last few episodes of the show Reba, the main charater, finally realizes who she really is. Throughout the show Reba had hated her and always wanted her to go away. But in the end after years of knowing eachother, Reba looks back and see's how great a person she has always been. I think that I have the perfect example of being mispreceived. This year i met a kid named matt who is a freshman, who I met in marching band. Anyway, he had always seen me as beign loud and abnoxious and never stoped laughing and talking. Now this year we have a class together and we finally would get to know eachother a talk more. He told me that he had always seen me as kind of annoying and loud but once you get to know me im a pretty cool person to talk to.

I am also going to talk about the character from heroes syler. He is precieved as a bad person. He kills alot of people but really its his power that makes him like that. He thirsts for other powers. The only way he can do that is by well killing them. He really isnt a bad person. You see that in the future when he doesnt have his power he has a family and everything. He doesnt kill people anymoe.
