We continue to watch "A Man Without A Face." We see the unravelling of how people can misunderstand what makes people tick, think and behave. We try and understand that when we misperceive people we tend to make mistakes about who they are or what they stand for.
Another issue that comes into play for this movie is social injustice. If you are not sure what this concept means then Google it! Give your own definition of social injustice with an example. Then, give 3 examples of social injustices that are seen in the movie. Then, talk about how we, as people, need to defend social injustice in order to make a better society.

I think social injustice is when someone does not get equal treatment. For example, in A man without a face Mclode is basiclly hated by the society just becuase they are afraid of him. Also when Mclode is not around all anybody does is talk behind his back and say bad things about him that are not ture. Mclode also does not have a phone. My guess is that people are to scared to go to his house to set a phone up because the way tha Mclode is perseved. Well from what i have seen in the movie that Mr. Mclode is a pretty nice guy. If people defened him and knew the truth of the crash, and knew he was a nice guy, then their city would have one more nice person in it. In the long run letting Mclode be apart of the society would make the society better.

I think that social injustice is when people are treated differently. People feel the need to me the same as others. When there is social injustice people aren't treated the same as others. For example, segregation is a huge social injustice. People were seperated just because the color of their skin. People were treated differently and that wasn't right. In the movie there is much social injustice. Mclode is a nice guy, but knowbody realizes that because he is different. People just listen to the rumors and believe every thing they hear. Mclode choses to live in quite because he doesn't want all the discrimination against him. He goes and gets his grocries at night so nobody can see him. People are afaid of him when they never even met him.

Social injustice, to me, is when someone gets treated differently just because they're not like everyone else. In the movie "A Man Without a Face", McCloud was ridiculed left and right by society. Just because his face was burnt he became the talk of the town. Or because of the fact that he lived alone and didn't want to be around people. There were rumors going around about him everywhere in the town. People should have defended him, not just becausehe's different, but because they didn't know a thing about him. They thought he wrote pornography for a living, when he actually created art for magazine covers as well as other things for money.

I think that social injustice is when people dont get treated the same way as others. An example would be like one person getting paid a different amount for doing the same amount of work and as well as the other person. In the movie "A Man Without A Face" Mclode was hated and the people didn even know him. The people believe everything they hear about him with out even getting to know them. Also chucks mom babys him and treets him differently from the rest of teh family. We need to defend social injustice because it is just wrong to treat people differently. All people deserve to be treatd the same as everyone else.

I think that we view a social injustice as a wrongdoing by a group on someone or a group of people. For an example this may be a genocide or just discrimination. I think that in the movie thay discriminate against Mcloud in many ways. I think that discriminate against him because of his appearance. People tghink he is scary and mean because he got in a car accident. Next, people discriminate against him because he lives in his own estate and doesnt leave. They think he is up to no good rather than someone who just is more comfortable alone. Lastly, i think people discriminate against him for the manikins in his house and the rumors they have heard about them. I think that people need to end social injustices becaiuse it tears apart and really hurts someone. Sometime it takes more than one person saying stop to get a social injustice to come to an end.
I think social injustice is when people are treated unfairly because they are difrent. In the move Mcloud is treated differently because of his face. People mainly mistreat him because they are afraid. They make fun of him behind his back and make up rumors. As people we need to learn to accept each other. It really shouldn't matter if someone is disfigured in some way. They also shouldn't be mistreated if they act differently or dress differently. Overall treat everyone with respect and not be a jerk.

Social injustice is when a certain group or person in a society is treated differently or unfairly than other groups or people. For example, someone of a certain race or religion may be treated differently just because of their skin color or what religion they follow. In the movie, The Man without a face, the man is subject to social injustice because of the way his face looks with the burns. He is denied the freedom to live in town with everyone else because they will not accept him due to the way he looks. He is also made fun of, and the topic of many rumors going throughout the town. Another social injustice shown in the movie is towards Chuck's little sister. Chuck and his friends have ignored and made fun of her because of the way she acts and the way she looks. It is unfair to her because she has only tried to help Chuck and be friends with him and his friends. We need to defend social injustice in order to better society because it social injustice breaks the society apart. When there is social injustice, people and groups are separated from each other, which makes it impossible for everyone to work together.
In my own words I think social injustice means a lack in social equality. In other words it could mean that people arent treated equally. An example of social injustice could be racism or segregation or prejudice. An example from the movie is the people in the movie who know Mcloud treat him bad. They think that he is a bad person with a mean dog. Another example is that they think he looks funny because he burned his face and thats why they think he is a bad person. A third example of social injustice in the movie is just the whole reason that nobody likes him. Nobody has ever seen him only Chuck has and they all think he is bad and Chuck knows that he isnt. In our society there should be no social injusice becasue it creates a lot of problems.

A social injustice can be many different things based on different perceptions. To me, a social injustice is someone or something doing a wrong thing and treating another person group or even animal poorly. Gaining an unfair advantage is an example of a social injustice. An example in the real world would be sweatshop workers. This is where children are forced into working in poor conditions for no pay. In the movie Mclode experiences many social injustices. First of all of these is how people treat and view him because of his face. They think he's scary and they exclude him. Another issue is how he chooses to remain outside of the community. People pactically exclude him though. They view him as an even worse person for that because they make horrible assumptions about him. They think it's a bad thing how he stays at home all the time. Finally, people talk about him behind his back. They don't even have enough courage to talk to him much less talk bad about him to his face. If people were to defend other people there would be a possibility of world peace. Nobody would be left out, or forgotten or discriminated against. Everything would work out in the world.

Mr.Kay,
My definition for social injustice is something that is unfair or unreasonable. My example of this would be a racial group being treated better than, and given speacial privlages to, then others. In the movie one example of social injustice is the way chucks half sisters treat him. I say this because they don't understand him and they just assume he has problems. Another example would be how people treat the man without a face just a face. They don't know his story, his life, but they assume that he's mean and a bad person. My last example is what the kids said about the man without a face when they find out how he got injured. When chuck had told him that in the car accident a boy had died, one of the boys all the sundden said that he killed a kid. In my opinion to make a better society we need to speak up if something isnt fair. Like write to the congress or something. Or something as simple as talk to other people and see if they feel the same way about it.

i think social injustice means when someone is treated differently from everyone else. im trying to think of an example..like when people single out people because theyre gay, im not saying im for or against gay marriage, but just because they love differently they shouldnt be hated, were all people. now examples from the movie were..when everyone from the town don't like him by his looks, they juust choose to not include him in their little town. atleat the people from the store stay open for him. but another one is when even older people are actually talking crap about him. its like the game telephone, whats someone hears something about him they add more to it. another one is he doesnt even have a phone, maybe because he doesnt have anyone to talk to because everyone is to afraid to talk to him because they think he is a freak. theyre all makin assumptions about him. if people today in the world spoke out against all this someone would stop then most of them would follow. maybe then the world would go round.
steffiee
Socail Injustice, means that something is not fair to the person that it is being spoken about. An example of this would be descriminating against a certain person just because they look different. A social injust situation that occued in the movie was when chuck was trash talking about Gibson's character to his frends just to fit in. Two other situations, was when chucks sister asked to go on the boat with the boys, and they said no flat chested girls allowed on this boat. Also when chuck called his sister a fender face just because she has braces...it's funny, but crul to say. We as people need to stand up for those who are discriminated against, and realize that words and actions hurt. We need to learn that everyone has a say in what happens in life and what foes on in our society.

Mr. Kay,
I feel that social injustice is when people get treated differently because of race, belief, and culture, or simply because of dislike. An example of social injustice would be if two men, one African American and one Caucasion, were working for the same company, had the same exact job. But the Caucasion male got paid more than the African American. Some examples of social injustice from the movie "The Man Without A Face" are for example, (1.) Charles gets treated differently from his younger sister by his older sister because Charles dad had more of a connection with Charles when he was born. Before Charles was born, Gloria (Charles older sister) got all of the attention. (2.) Mr. McCloud gets treated differently because of the way his face is formed. People think he is this mean man because of the way he lives in the forest alone, does his own thing, and doesnt really talk to people in there community. (3.) I feel that Charles gets treated differently by his mother, older and younger sister. I think that Charles mother feels that Charles isn't smart enough to get into that Bording School. That Charles just doesn't have the potential to make the cut. And lastly, I believe that we, as people, need to defend social injustice to make a better society so that everyone will get treated like they should. Equal and fair. No more treating people like there less important than anyone else in this world.
Danielle Turner
to define social injustice i would like to brake the word in two halfs and then define each part. the first part social, means its dealing with people and the way they interact. like how people talk to eachother and how they viwe their peers. the second part of the word, injustice, reminds me of the short essay of gandhis we read. he talked about all different kinds of injustice and the two differnt ways to deal with them. injustice is the wronging of something that is just. in the movie when charlie went out to the island to talk with that group of kids they all started making fun of McLeod. also how Mcleod is forced to come to the store right before it closes. something obviously happend there that made him want to go by himself. people need to defend social injustice becuase in a way it will make it better for everyone else as well. its like you get what you give.

My definition of social injustice is when certian people are not treated the same. For example people who are discrimated by their religion and looks. An example from the movie would be when people won't let Mclode get his grocies during the day because of the rumors it seems. Charles feels like an outsider so thats why he is going to military school. Finally, Mclode will stop touring if he won't tell his mom but Charles is scared that his mom will make him stop coming over if he tells her. We has people need to defend social injustice in order to make a better society so that everyone is treated the same. If everyone was treated the same and no one gets hurt this will help make a better society.

GAH! How old is humanity? 2000 years old? Older? Man you think we would've gotten over this by now! A slight/large difference in a person and we treat them like crap? When are we ever going to realize that you don't spit on a person just because of their class/gender/intelligence/looks! You first must know them on a personal basis. Get to hate/like them on a personal level, because that's how you relate to others! If a person is a complete jerk to everyone that you AVOID them. As for the examples there are plenty to choose from(man humanity is a slow learner). There was the early social justice of slavery, then there was the discrimination of Irish, and finally just discriminating anything that's not amongst your own ethnicity. There might not be a way to stop it completely, stopping bigot thoughts from specific enthics maybe, but to react differently to different traits is human nature.
Social injustice is when a person or group (such as society) treats someone unfair. Mcloud is treated unfair because he is thought of diferent and never is social. First Mcloud was viewed as a dangerouse person with a pet wolf...because the town noticed his dog was big and looked mean. Second he was known as hamburger face and was made fun of by the town. Third rumors passed he was in a car accident and ended up killing a little boy.
We as people need to defend this because everyone is different. We tend to make negative sterio types against people were unsure about.
Social injustice is when someone is treated differently because of looks, gender, ethnicity, religion, etc. An example of a social injustice would be how African Americans were treated because of the color of their skin. From the movie there are many examples of social injustices being demonstrated. In "A Man Without A Face," Mcloud is treated unfairly in society because of the way he looks. People automatically put a label on him as a freak because half his face is burned. Mcloud is also labeled a killer because of his looks. No one ever talked to the guy and they come up with stories about how he's a serial killer. Mcloud is treated unfairly because he can't live a normal live. No one gives him a chance to prove himself as normal. Instead, everyone justs calls him the freak. I think we need to defend social injustices because its wrong. Its as simple as that. No one should be discrimnated against because of race, religion, ethinicty, or gender. Everyone should have an equal chance in life to succeed.

My definition of a social injustice is a person or group of people that is not treated equaly, for a unfair reason. An example of this was the slavery, it was forcing lobar work on people with no rewards for doing so. One example of a social injustice in the movie is when everyone is talking about Mel Gibison, and making asumptions about him. A second example in the mvie is when Charle staring at Mel Gibson face just beacasue he looks differnt. A third example in the movie is when Charle was sneaking around in Mel Gibiosns house beacause he wants to knew what happened, he is taking advantage of the situtation. We as people must defend injustices beacause other wise many people will be treated unfair. By dedending the injustice we are making the world a better place beacasuese more people are equal and less people are sufering.

I think that social injustice is when someone isnt treated fairly or equally to others. For example, back then people were really discriminatory against black people, and didnt treat them equally to everyone else. Some examples from the movie are people treat and act differntly to Mcloeod because of his face, and because they are afraid of him. Another example is people assuming things about him, and spreading false rumors about him. Finally, the town wont include Mcleod in anything becasue they think hes weird and wont even make an attempt to talk to him. We, as people need to defend social injustice in order to make a better society, because if we all acted like the people in the movie did towards McLeod, then our society would eventually break apart. Which would make it very hard to work together as a whole.
Clare Pathe
Social injustice is when in society a person or group of people are not afforded the same priviledges as others because they are different. Our society is filled with social injustices whereas people are judged by appearances, and many other things. In the movie one of the social injustices was when the towns people made fun of Mr. McLeod and thought he was a bad person because of his appearance. Anothe social injustice in the movie was when Gloria and Charles mom thought he was stupid and not smart, when in fact Charles was trying to make himself better (their perception of Charles was very hurtful to Charles)...how sad is that when your only family members are not supporting you. Lastly, it was a social injustice when Mr. McLeod did not feel comfortable going outside his home and being apart of his community. I feel that we need defend social injustices in our society. If we allow continue to overlook and not try to fix the problem many other people will continue to be ridiculed unfairly.
I think a social injustice is when someone is treated badly due to them being different. An example is not getting a job because of your ethnicity. In the movie there are many injustices. Mel Gibson's character is talked about and thought badly of due to haveing one side deformed. Another is the young boy (Main character), he doesn't learn as fast as his sisters so him family makes fun of him. Just because someone is a little slower does not mean that you can treat them badly. The younger sister is not included because she is a girl. They make bad comments about her too makeing it seem like they are sexist. We need to defend social injustice because it is wrong to discriminate against people. When people discriminate we hold others back, so in order to make the world better we need to make sure we treat others fairly. Like there may be a briliant person, who would improve the world greatly, but if we hold them back and don't listen to them, the world is worst off.

To me, social injustice is not getting equal treatment to everyone else. For example, many people dicriminate against president obama because of his skin color. In the man without a face people don't treat Mccloud the same because of his face. They automatically assume he is mean. Also, in the movie people discriminate him becuase he chooses to separate from society, not leaving his house often. Lastly, the main character charles does not learn as fast as others so his family treats him diffrently. We as people need to defend social injustice becuase it will make the whole world better. Social injustices tear apart society and hurt people very much.

Three examples of social injustice in the movie is the community wouldn't except Mel Gibson because of his appearance. Another one of an injustice was the children were afraid of him yet again because of his looks and what they have heard about him. The last social injustice was just how nobody would want to get to know Mel Gibson. Social Injustice is where they treat certain people different. We as people need to defend social injustice in order to make a better society by treating everyone equal.

I thin that social injustice is when not everyone is accepted to do everthing. In the movie the town really doesn't accept Mel and so he can't really do everything. Another one is how Charles isn't accepted in his family and how his sister doesn't like him. Plus him and Mel are made fun of a lot to their face and behind their backs. There are many reasons why we need to defend this. First of all this is what starts out a bad community. Plus it could lead to violent reactions by certian people. For example they oculd go crazy ad try and kill everyone in the town. A differnt reason is because it could spread to other places and start a big war or something.
Ty Bouwens, 6th hour
Social injustice in my opinion means being treated infairly due to flaws you cant help. An example is Mclouds burn, he did choose that to happen, but it did and he gets a lot of shit for it. Three examples from the movie are, Mcloud being walked all over by others because he is isolated and doesnt get out much. Another is Mclouds burn that the kids always make fun of. Third, people listen to other rumors about him, and spread it around too.
Defending social injustice will make society better. We need to respect everyone for who they are. We need to get past peoples flaws and differences and make everyone fell welcome.

Social injustice is when a certain group or people in a society is treated differently or unfairly than other groups or people. Someone of a certain race or religion may be treated differently just because of their skin color or what religion they follow. I think that social injustice means that people are not treated as equals. In the movie "A Man Without a Face" Chuck and his siblings are not treated as equals. His mother treats Chuck like a baby. She treats Gloria like an mean adult. She treats Chucks little sister like she doen't know anything. In fact I think that she is smarter then the other kids. Another way that the movie shows an social injustice is when people talk about Mclode behind his back. Everybody thinks that he is some kind of freak just because he has burns on his face. The last example of a social injustice from "A Man Without a Face" is when Mclode told Chuck to get off of his property. Mcloude thought that Chuck is just like everyone else. When in fact he was going to ask for help. We need to defend social injustices to stop treating people uneualily. Just like Martin Luther King Jr tried to do. If we keep playing favorties then we as a society will not accomplish anything. I see it all the time when I am out and about. People don't look a certien way then people make up rumors and other nasty things about others. Some people think it is okay to be nasty to others. Just because they look different. Well news flash for you. IT IS NOT. PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN TO KEEP THERE MOUTHS SHUT. What I learned in kindergarden was that of you don't anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.

social injustice to me is when someone is treated different then somebody else. an example is McLeod is hated by the community because of the way he looks. another example is that he is hated because he lives alone, and people fear that he is different. another example is that he never talks to anybody and has nobody that he really knows. i don;t think that we should defend social injustice because we should not dislike somebody just because of what they look like. to make a better society is to treat everybody equal in there own way.
Mr. Kay,
I think that a social injustice is someone or a group of people that is not being treated fairly. Mel gibson is totally hated by everyone just because of what people say that they know about him. Which is all a lie. Three examples of social injsutice is the stereotypes that Mel Gibson gets. They have many names for him that dont reflect the type of person he is. Also, the boy is getting an injustice because he is getting treated adly by his family. Lastly, people think that he is some kind of freak just because he was in a car accident and got burned. We need to en dinjustices because it will only tear apart our country.
Tim wilson
For my definition of social injustice I believe that it is myths that are not true, but people believe that they are true. An example of this would be high school for instance. They're so many rumors about students all floating around. Without using any names, there's this girl and she heard stuff about my friend, so she was always mean to her. Then one day she was talking and I confronted her telling her that the information was false. She would have known that before if she wouldn't of have avoided confrontation and made things even worse. Examples from the movie include one when Chuck asked Mel Gibson's character if he really did pornography, all he could was laugh. Also, he asked if that was the latest rumor about him going around? Another would be when Chuck was upset with Mel Gibson's character he went and told his friends that the reason for his burned face was because of a car crash and that a boy died with him. His friends were being stupid and immature and made up a rumor that he killed the boy, which he really didn't. Lastly, as in my yesterday's blog I mentioned that everyone that everyone reffered to him as "The freak". Everyone just assumed that he was a freak because of his face, how he never talked to people very often, he isolated his house, and his dog was viscous or a good guard dog. We as people need to defend social injustices because it breaks bonds that people could have, and hurts many everyone. Also, since were in high school saying the wrong thing can ruin a friendship and you could be separated. Without all of this, our society would be so much better.

To me social injustice is when their is a problem, or an un-fair situation. An example would be if some one has a disability other people would look down on them and think differently of them just because they are not the same everyone else. I do not believe in the viewpoint of that everyone should be the same as me. If that were so, life would be boring. In the movie the first part where I noticed social injustice was that of the main family. Chuck's mom things that he has "problems" just because he day dreams. His sister calls him stupid and doesn't respect him because of who his dad was. Quickly judged, Mel Gibson's character gets treated unfairly because the right side of his body is burned. We need to defend social injustice by teaching kids early that it is okay to be different and to except people for who they are unless they cause some kind of threat to society.

Social Injustice means that you are treated wrongly becasue of the way look you look or act. It all has to do with perception. One example in the movie is when Mel Gibson is made fun of by everone becasue of his burnt face. He is forced to be isolated from the rest of the world. Another example is when Charles is made fun of for being not as smart by his sister and others. Lastly, the mom's boyfriend and fiance is discriminated against becasue he has a lot of hair and looks creepy. We as people need to have social injustices becasue then there is diversity in the world. We also need people with different perceptions of the society.
Social injustice, to me, is when someone gets treated differently just because they're not like everyone else. i dont think this is right because people shouldnt be treated bad for being from a certain place. In the movie "A Man Without a Face", McCloud was ridiculed left and right by society. Just because he got in a car accident and burned his face. Well from what i have seen in the movie that Mr. Mclode is a pretty nice guy. Social injustice is my mind is unequal treatment of people in society. An example could be a person in society who is treated unfair because of their race. Three examples seen in the movie are is Mcloud being treated poorly because of his face. Kids make up rumors about him being a monster, and adults thinks he is a weird man. To make a better society we need to elminate social injustice. This way we can form a more equal and better society. If we treat people equal and with respect everyone will feel more accepted in to society.
My definition of a social injustice is when people are treated unfairly because they are different. For example, after 9-11, many people of Arabic descent were treated unfiarly because they were all considered possible threats to the nation. In the movie, The Man Without a Face, there are many social injustices. First, the man is talked about by the rest of the town behind his back. They make up rumors about him because they are too afraid to talk to him. Secondly, Chuck is treated unfairly because he is viewed as not being capable of doing as much as his sisters. Although he tries hard to pass the test, he is still looked down on by his family and friends as being slow. Finally, Chuck's sister is treated rudely by the other kids in town. She is very intelligent and outspoken, and she gets made fun of for that. If we defended social injustice, people would be accepted for who they are. If there was a world without social injustices, everybody would feel accepted and society would be a much better place.

there is a social injustice in this story by how the look at hamburger head. just because he is different from all the other doesn't mean that they can just pretend that he is not there. how every one is scared of him. how everyone stares at his face because of his burns on his face that looks different from everyone. i think we defend it because no one is really the same. everyone has different things about themselves. this make our world better so we can get along better.
A social injustice is when people treat other differently just because they are different. A real life example of one is when people treat people from the middle east differently, cause they think they are a terrorist. In "A Man Without A Face" people treat Mr.McCloud differently just because he likes to live away from society more. Another example is that Chucks older sister treats him really bad and makes fun of him because he doesn't learn as quickly as other people. They also make fun of him for trying to get into a certain school and they tell him that he can not do it. And a last example goes back to Mr.McCloud, people say he is so mean and terrible because of his face and they call him mean names. They don't even know him and in reality he is a photographer and they have seen his work in their everyday lives.

one website said that a social injustice is when not all people within a society have equal access to the facilities, services or systems within that society.
that makes sense but i think it can also have another meaning. when i hear social injustice the first thing that comes to mind is something that isn't fair or something that is wrong. for example racial prejudices or profiling. in the movie a social injustice is when his mother thinks he can't get into the boarding school. also when the boys don't let Chuck's little siter go with them because she is a girl. then in the barber shop when that man assumes that Mcleod is the man in the wanted ad because he stays in his house. to make a better society we need to look at things in other's perspectives and try to understand those we don't know. like they always say, we just need to talk a walk in someone else's shoes.

Social injustice is when people are treated unequally ending up oppressing the unequal party. When Hitler was persecuting the Jews that was social injustice. In the movie the supporting character was disfigured in a tragic car accident. The three examples of social injustice are inflicted by the towns people. They call him hamburger head. They say he killed his wife. They say he writes pornography for a living. They are committing slander agents him. He has never done anything to wrong these people. He lives alone. He keeps to himself. He doesn’t deserve the humiliation and shunning that these people give him.
We as people should stand up and say its wrong to make cruel and humiliating comments about people. We should have a society where everyone is welcome. If we do not defend against social injustice we are no better than Hitler.
Social injustice is the undeserving treatment of inequality in which people recieve that deserve the same as others. Things such as descrimination, racism, sexism, and so on. A shortened and more comprehensive defintion for social injustice would simply be not deserving equal treatment of others. Social injustic takes a big toll in america and should come to an end. This is shown greatly in the movie in which we are watching currently from McLoud's point becaue of the way people percieve him and show a good deal of social injustice.; One way this is shown is people percieve he is a bad crazy person beacuse of his face due to his car accident. Another example would peoples thoughts of him being mean and wierd due to him not traveling outside his property and if so done very so often. Lastly, the reason i feel social injustice is expressed is all the rumors about him, his dog, and such that are not only spread but believed.

I think social injustice is treating people unequally. For an example a social injustice could be the less unprivileged schools, that do not have the same materials as others. The movie "A man without a face" gives many examples of social injustices. An obvious example of social injustice in the movie is the way McCloud is treated. He has to live his life differently to avoid rude comments from neighbors. He goes to the grocery store late at night just to avoid them. I also think that Charles is treated unfairly by his mother. from what i can tell i think that the movie favorite his older sister. Chucks younger sister also deals with social injustice. Chuck and his friends treat her unequally. She tried to help him study but he was rude. As a society we need to fight back against social injustices. They are very hard to avoid, and are everywhere. There has to be strength in numbers to help end and prevent future social injustices.
I think social injustice is when someone is treated socially unequal. The civil rights act is a great example of this. People segregated races and discriminated against black people. In the movie, Mclode is treated badly because no one knows the real him. Everyone made perceptions of him before getting to know him. Second, people would call him names, when he was in a car accident. The key would there was ACCIDENT. Its not like he chose to be that way. So for people to treat him badly is wrong. Third, charles gets treated badly by his half sister. I honestly dont understand why she has to be rude to him. He did nothing wrong. I think she was just jealous. As people, we need to stand up for what we believe in. We need to give everyone an equal chance and make fair perceptions.

I think social injustice is when someone doesn't get treated the same as everyone else, unfair treatment. In the movie it give many examples about this McCloud gets different treatment all the time. Everywhere he goes people stare at his face. He is denied the freedom to live in town that he wants to because people will not accept him due to the way he looks. Another example is that Chucks older sister treats him really bad and makes fun of him because he doesn't learn as quickly as other people. I think to make a better society people need to ingore all those things that people hear, and treat everyone with respect. Or how you would like to be treated.
Social injustice is being treated unfairly by society. An example of this is Boo Radley from the book "To Kill a Mocking Bird." In there society Boo is seen as a monster when really no one knows him. When people do not know something about a curious thing or person they make up things and start rumors. There are may examples of social injustice in this movie. The major example is how everyone in the town are afraid and make stuff up about Mclode. Another example of this is how chucks family exclude him from things they do. Lastly Chuck and his friends make up things about Mclode like them saying he makes porno. In society we should try to stop or cut down social injustice. It is not fare for the person who is being sequestered from society because they may be very intelligent like mclode.

I think Social injustice is when someone gets treated differently because of who they are. Like if you go down south to like Georgia they all treat black people like shit because they are black. That's horrible. Social injustice is strongest when it comes to race. I find that super stupid. In the movie Mclode is treated differently because his face is messed up. He gets all these rumors spread about him because of that too. I personally like Mclode. I think he is very nice and people shouldn't judge him on looks. I think that in our society if we didn't judge people on appearance we would all get along better and there might even be less fights around.

A social injustice is when a person or a group of people are not treated equally in A societly, for an unfair reason. In the movie McCloud is treated unfairly and with disrespect because half of his face was burned. Most of the town seems to be afraid, intimidated or weirded out by his face. So they avoid him, but also wonder about him. Chuck, the younger boy, is slower than an average kid. His family seems to doubt him and this divides him from his family. Also, Chucks perceptions and expectations of his mom's boyfriend are an example too. He seems to not like the boyfriend and does'nt hide it around him. He treats him like he could never be family in a way. Social injustice is the reason people dont go out of thier way to talk, be nice or anything to someone they dont know a lot about, or at all. People don't give people a certain people a chance just because of what they think they know. If we got rid of social injustice the world might have a chance to work together better, or get things accomplished.
Mr. Kay,
Social Injustice means neglecting a group or single. I mean this in ways like certain people not having equal right to same places or anything of that sort. I think plain and simple it is obvious this happens to McLeod all the time. That's obvious, it's given. He is sort of excluded from the town, but I am not sure if that is a choice or not so that isn't a very legitimate example, but it could work. So I can say he is generally treated unfairly by the town. No one really wants to see him. Also Charles is not treated very fairly by his family. They don't think he will make it to the boarding school because they pretty much say he is stupid. Also, his kid sister is very unfairly treated by the boys and charlie. She is made fun if and they don't want her on the boat because generally she is a girl and a young one. I think this is a pretty good example because it deals with exclusion instead of just treating someone bad. To make a better society, we need to defend social injustice, and to do that, we need to simply learn equality and acceptance. It's okay if you dislike someone because they are different then you, but you shouldn't be mean to them for it. People are different. So What. If we all understood that we could be happier if we didn't judge, this world would be better. This is what social injustice means to me.

Social injustice is when someone is not getting treated equaly. For example Mclode is hated by everyone, even though no one knows him. He doesnt really talk to anyone, he doesnt have a phone either. People are probally scared to go and talk to him. From what i have seen he seems like a nice guy when you get to know him. If people got to know him and see the real him, i think it would make it so much better. Than people going behind his back and talking crap about him. We need to defend social injustice because our community would be soo much better. everyone would get along and there would be no sterotypes. Everyone would be happy.
as we have talked about earlier this year, i believe social injustice to be a great problematic situation where people misconceive others, and act towards them with that misconception.1 social injustice would be when others talk about others behind there back. as almost all teenagers do, we know what happens, and how it can really hit someone's core. another social injustice would be judging someone based on their religion, or the color of their skin. which happens all to often in todays world, day and age. the last social injustice i have thought of, is that simply not talking to people, because of those pre-conceived notations. So, as humans, and as man, we need to defend injustices, because, when they happen, we all know we can fix them.

I had written out a perfectly goood response before this. And when I went to save, Blogger said that 'this action was already performed. go back and retry'. and when i did, the whole response was gone.
So instead of trying to retype my perfect reply, I will:
-Not do anything
-fail Literature
-not graduate
-not succeed in life
-possibly become homeless
-get thrown into prison for 'evading' taxes because i haven't any money
-and die in that exact same prison knowing that everything was not my fault.
Because you know what?
IT ISN'T MY FAULT.
I've been told my whole life that it was my fault, and was the reason everything bad happened.
I was fed that crap for fifteen years, and nothing has changed. I still live the lie that I am my own person, when I live under the restraining hand of the people that didn't plan to have me.
The truth hurts.
I hate myself.
I hate everyone.
I hate.
I hate.
I hate.
How's that for perceptions?
You perceive me to be this innocent artist that's misunderstood because she can't get a break.
Fun, isn't it?
I thought so too.
Give me all the dententions you like.
I AIN'T GOING.

I think social injustice is a wrong doing against someone or a group of people. An example is people being bullied or things like the holocaust. There were some social injustices seen in the movie "A Man Without A Face". One example is the way the town treats mcleod. They are talk a whole bunch of lies and don't even take the time to get to know him. Another example is how Chuck's family treats each other. The older sister is mean to him and he is mean to the younger sister. A third example is how Chuck's friends look down upon him and make fun of him for taking the test thing. Also, they use peer pressure. People need to defend social injustice and stand up for what is right. If people are getting pushed around then we need to stand up for them because we wouldn't like it if we were the ones who were being pushed around.
The definition of social injustice is the fact of situation being treated unfair and of people not being treated equally or an unfair act or an example of unfair treatment that is being occured in public. As an example, it can be, racial discrimination and segregation regardless of their personalities or natural rights. In this movie, firstly occured social injustice is at very beginning of the movie, that Charles' mom and sister consider him as a troublemaker and annoying, burdensome member to the family just because he doesn't act what they want, even he is just a boy, whose age is around the adolescene, who wants to touch female mannequin's bust. The second social injustice from this movie is that Mel Gibson character is almost forced not to contact with people outside home because of the community's common atmosphere, avoiding contacts with people who are different from themselves. Lastly, I wanna say, even though it's not what Mr.Kay wanted, that very young kids were smoking was not justifiable problem. I like laissez-faire in the market, but I think it's not adequate to a family, which has young children, who have comparatively less ability of self-control, not because they are crazy or immature but they have less experience in this world therefore know little what to do. Those families should have control over their young kids and it NEVER means they have the right to ground them every single day and keep pushing them what they said to do, but induce them to the right way through wise way.
Social injustice is something that happens that is bad towards a person or group of people. What I mean is like if a person was discriminated against due to race. people think that he is mysterious because he live alone and never leaves his residence. People think that he is a creep because he is so to himself. People are also treating him really bad because his face is disfigured, People stare at him like he is a wild animal and the call him horrible names. Then when they find out a boy died in a car accident while McLeod was driving people started saying that he was a murderer. To make society better people need to stand up for others and do what is right. Also we have police who help against social injustice but i think it could be better.
