Today, we went over compound sentences, simple sentences and complex sentences. For this evening, I want you to write me a very short story (of at least 10 sentences but more if need be) using at least 2 simple sentences, 4 compound sentences and 4 complex sentences. Label each sentence for the type so that I can see that you are using them correctly.
The topic is up to you so have some fun if you want. If you were absent, this is one of the problems with missing school. I guess, if you want the points for today, you can research these sentence types so you have an understanding and thus write your story.

Alec Step was a young boy who was kidnapped. He was always the best at sports.(S). Alec was very athletic, he was always the star player. (CD). One day in april, a man took him from the park while he was practicing his jumpsots. (CX). His parents were crushed, and his school missed his ability greatly. (CX). I'm going to write about a very little hockey player that falls on her bottom. The hockey player was smaller from all the rest. When the hockey player was just about to touch the ice she fell on her bottom. Those are simple sentences. She went to skate around the rink, then she was knocked down and fell. When the little hockey player tried to skate backwards; she fell down. She worked on her cross overs; she accidentaly slipped. She was stick handeling the puck down the ice ; she bumped into a bigger player and fell. Those are compound sentences. It was game day , and she was very excited. When she went in and saw the other team compared to her, she knew that she was going to fall. The game started, she was on the bench waiting to go on the ice. When it was her turn to go on the ice , she got hit by the other player and fell on her bottom. These are complex sentences.

So I decided to join a raid. Not a long one, just really hard to accomplish. I did a simple check on what classes we had, we didn't have enough. The issue was that we needed more healers. I had stated such a issue, but my thoughts fell upon deaf ears. The Intelligence of my allies sank lower and lower, it truly baffled me! I died many of times, and all times was trying to save our healer(yeah just one). Never mind our meat shield couldn't keep the enemy's attention for long, freaking idiot.

*There was no wind, but the trees swayed gently as the grass rolled. I looked around the clearing, shivering in the sudden cold. ^There wasn't a soul in sight. ^Just the trees stood in the fading light.
*A sudden gust of wind tore through the emptiness, and I covered my face from rocks and twigs that flew up around me. I blinked back tears and brushed off clods of dirt and sharp twigs from my clothes. *A high-pitched screech echoed in my ears, and a large blotchy shape slowly emerged from the trees.
"Sssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooon..." is groaned, collaborating with the screeching in the air.
"Sssssoooooooooooooon....Kooooooriiiiiiiii..."
"What? What is soon?"I gasped out, for i was holding my hands to my now bleeding left ear. (*?)The spectre reached out a blurry arm shape, as if to touch my heaving chest.
"Sssssooooon....trad-g-gedyyy...of...the cen-t-t-urrrryyy....." It's deep red eyes bore into mine.
"What? What tradgedy?" *I charged at the black and red cloud, fury overtaking me. "TELL ME! WHAT TRADGEDY!"
I passed through the middle of it, my breath hitching in my throat. I fell to the ground, like I had been stopped by an invisible wall. The vile 'ghost' turned to look at me with it's violently bright blood red eyes.
"Yooouu....willllll....ssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...." What seemed to be the mouth was close to me, and I could see a jaw full of sharp teeth. The voice was more clear and faster, the words repeating over eachother.
"Because you're going to start it."

Mike was a good student. (S) He was always being teased by his classmates, and he always wanted to go home and cry. (CD) On the way to school, he always passed by the dark street at the end of his street. (CX) Normally he would think nothing of it, and today was like no other day. (CD) However, while he was passing today, he noticed something unfamiliar. (CX) Two bullies were hiding in the bushes, and they popped out in front of Mike. (CD) Mike was scared out of his mind. (S) The bullies wanted his lunch money, so he gave it to them. (CD). While they were at it, they also made him do their homework. (CX) Deciding he was never going that way again, Mike treaded on to school. (CX)

William was a very athletic boy, who was in a car accident(CD). He was on his way home when a semi-truck side swipped him, and pushed him off a bridge(CD). He was always a very good driver(S). The car accident couldn't have been his fault, because he was paying complete attention to the road; like he always did(CD). His cell phone was always off when he drived just in case of these situations(CX). But now its all over for him(S). That stupid truck driver took him away from us when he decided to get behind the wheel druck(CX).

well, as you know I was not here today so I looked them up and I'm going to give it a shot.
Books are a source of entertainment.(S)They set the imagination free.(S) Tony opened the pages to the dusted, hardcover book, to find the unknown world called Pithopia.(CX) In Pithopia, there were dragons, knights in suits of armor, and beautiful princesses locked away in sky scrapping towers.(CX) Tony left his boring reality behind him to find the creative and exciting world we all crave.(CD) Page by page Princesses became free and knights fought wars.(CD) Dry, crunchy gardens became lush green feilds, after day long rainfall soaked into the roots.(CX) Tony read on, so the lives of the characters grew and became lifelike.(CD) But, page by page Pithopia became closer and closer to the end, for he knew eventualy this fariy tale world would have to end.(CD)When the book came to an end, Tony returned the book, but kept the souls of the characters breathing in his mind.(CX)

Dear Mr. Kay,
This past weekend, I went on a Church retreat.(CD) It was the best weekend ever.(S) There was so much that went on, I can't even figure out where to start in my recollection of the event.(CD) I'll start on the day we left.(S) We met at the church on Friday at 3:45pm, and we left at around 4:00pm.(CD) The trip took about 4 hours, so we were stuck in a van for 4 hours.(CX) When we arrived, we went straight to the cafeteria for pizza.(CD) Over the course of the next few days, we had many church sessions.(CD) These sessions were very inspiring to me, so I took notes during each of them.(CX) I was able to see my long time friend, but we were unable to converse often.(CX) She was head of the techys, so she was extremely busy at times.(CX) There was also a tubing hill.(S) In comparison to the hill from last year, this hill rather sucked.(CD) To compensate, there was a gym with a rockclimbing wall inside.(CD) I climbed the hardest one first, and reached the top.(CX) After that I climbed the easiest one and my pastor,Brian, video taped me reaching the top in under a minute.(S) This trip by far was the best I've ever been on.(S)

His Musical influences made him (S). He was still in the jazz age, though its been over for over 20 years(CX). He was in the electronic age, when the music around him had all been made with computers(CD). Also, by the way he was brought up, he was always into independent music due to its sense of expression(CX). As he grew up,he never had any instruments to express what he has learned from theses influences, but he knows how it would be if he had them(CD). Making music by the hour, he would have album ever week(CX). Back at reality, he only lived off of his single laptop(CX). He never really knew how to make the music, but he always tried(CD). It was hard, but he finally made a couple of short jazzy, electronic songs(CD). He never wanted to really share his music unless there was enough material and seriousness behind it, but his music was just out of pure fun(CD). One day a friend of his invited him to a party(S). When he got to the party, there was a stage erected for the band and anyone who wanted to play music(CX). His friends got him on stage through sheer pushing told him to play a song(S). He finally decided to plug in his laptop and he started a song(CD). He had no idea what to do since he was just standing there without an instrument(CD). He pumped the music up really up and the laser-light show began go apparently with the music(CD). He jumped in the little crowd and inspired everyone to dance(CX). Then was born the greatest performer ever(S). The songs kept playing and the little inspired man kept the high octane free dancing going.(CD) As he is done, several hours later, he grabs his laptop, and walks off the stage(S). His friend told him, "That is how music should be, Dan."(S)

when the pro snowboarder got out there.(S) The snowboarder started to pull out some knarley tricks. While he was on the half pipe.(CD) Then after that he scored high on the scoreboards.(CX)Then his next event was the big down hill races he never excelled in those.(CX)This one he did really well in he made the top five after racing against everyone.(CD)Then his best stage came up it was the rail jam everyone was expecting a win out of him right here.(CD) He was going really well in the first round of it.(S) then in the next round it got a little tougher and he really couldn't think of any more trick he could throw down.(CX) So as he was going through all of the trick he started to do some over again and the judges didn't like that.(CD)So at the end of all the runs he made on the rails he didn't do so well because he reused his tricks a lot so he learned to always have tricks layed out ahead of time for his next event.(CX)
Every Friday night, a group of men ranging from police officers to ex-military personnel to young high schoolers get together to play a friendly war simulation game. (Complex) Last Friday, my team, including a few friends from LHS, were in a heavy battle against the opposing team trying to eliminate them first. (Complex) The scenario was simple. (Simple) The scenario was to eliminate the opposite team within a time limit before our team was eliminated; the time limit was five minutes. (Compound) My team came up with a quick plan. (simple) We held our position to find out which way the opposing team would appear. (simple) After we figured out what side they would attack us from, we retreated to have them follow us. (compound) We had two men stay behind to keep the opposing team occupied while the other four of us snuck around quietly to the back of the building. (complex) After high tense room clearing using precise tactics, we ended up being right behind the enemy and they didn't even know it. (complex) We stacked up, our team was going to get them by surprise by attacking them. A simple countdown got us ready to commence what we were doing. (simple) One yell of go and we all jumped in firing; enemy unaware. (compound) They all called out being surprised about what happened and we won the match. (compound)

At this point Gwen went up to her ex and told him that she did not feel comfortable that he was here. Gavin said" I will not leave nor, will you.(CD) We will have a good time and just ignore each other. Ok?" Gwen had no choice but, to agree.(CD) So she went to find her friend Elizabeth. Well Elizabeth was in the kitchen with her cousin Noah. Now Gwen had known Noah since she was really little and Gwen knew everything about him. (CD) So Gwen thought that it was time to leave the party at which time she called her older brother Landon.(CX) When she woke up the next morning she got out her history stuff and started studing. Gwen thought that she had studied enough, because she had been doing it for an hour.(CX) When she got to school everyone was laughing at her because she was in her underwhere.(CX) So Gwen ran to her locker and put her gym shorts on. So when she got to history she reaized that the test was yearterday, after a hard day at school she realizerd that she was still in her bed.(CX) She woke up and said"It was all a dream!"

Bella was a princess(S). She was by far the prettiest princess(S). Bella was also into dance, she was the star dancer(CD). She had an older brother, and she still got whatever she desired. One day Bella asked for a new phone for her birthday(CX). For the first time her parents said no, because she always broke her phones. Bella was shocked with anger and didn't know how to react to this(CX). She did something that she regretted, and wished she would have thought it through before. Her brother recently just got a new phone, the one she discovered she wanted. So Bella snatched her brothers phone and through it in the lake. Bella's brother was devastated, and didn't deserve that(CD). Weeks and weeks later, it was now Bella's birthday. She opened her last present, and she was in for a surprise(CD). The phone, was just as she imagined(CX). Bella glanced at her brother, and saw sadness in his eyes(CD). While handing him the phone, she saw his eyes light up(CX). Bella explained everything to her brother and parents, and felt great about giving him his phone back. That day she learned a very valuable lesson, and kept to it forever. Bella lives happily ever after.

I really dislike these blog(S). They really make me angry, they make me crazy(CD). Sometimes, I just wanna shoot myself(S). When I do my blogs after school, their painfull(CX). When the time arrives, I love to rip on these blogs(CD). This blog is actually difficult, now that I think about it(CX). This clause stuff is a real tough time(CX). I honestly dont know if im doing this correctly(CD). Mr Kay very well might give me a beating like no other(CX). I have just counted four complex sentences and two compound sentences(CD). I wasnt having trouble in class today, although its much more difficult when wrtiting them out(CD).

During the fall, I like to go running. (CX) Running is good cardiovascular exercise. (S) Fall is the best season to go running for me; the weather is perfect. (CD) When I try to run in the summer, I get exhausted from the heat too fast. (CX) The spring is decent running weather, but you cannot run on the dirt road because it is too muddy. (CD) During the winter, it is too cold to run outside for me. (CX) I enjoy running outside more than inside. (S) You can look at the beautiful landscape surrounding you and listen to all of nature's music. (CD) The weather is not only perfect for running in fall, it is also one of the most beautiful seasons. (CD) When I am running, I can gaze at the explosions of fiery colors on the trees. (CX) Watching the leaves peacefully fall while I run in the cool, crisp air is one of my favorite activities to do. (CX)

Jake wanted to see the tigers, because they are his favorites.(cx)Jake didn't want to see the snakes, because they scared him. (cx) Jake was getting hungry.(s) We decided to stop at the burger place, but it was to busy. (cd) Jake's parents couldn't decide to pick up a snack, or wait for the ride home to get something to eat. (cd) We decided on a snack because that would give us more time. The last thing we did was go to the petting zoo; Jake loves to play with the animals. (cd) After along day at the zoo, Jake was very tired and it was time to come home. (cx)
One day, a young boy by the name of conner was invited to ride his scooter into downtown milord with some friends.(CX) This was a stupid idea.(S) Being the dumb kid he was though, he decided to go.(CD) On the way there, conner hit a pot hole and fell very hard.(CX) His friends did not know till, they looked back and seen his body in mid-air.(CX) He was going to be hurting after this one.(S) His friends immedialty rushed over and helped him up.(CD) He suddenly stoped remembering things when he hit the pavement.(CX)They finnaly got him concious and got him to remember his moms phone number.(CD) This took awhile though.(S) Conner was then picked up and rushed to the hospital.(CD)

Once opon a time there was a little duck named Bob. The duck decided to go for a swim, until he remembered he was afraid of water. (CD). When he went towards the water, Bob couldn't help but run away. (CX). The other ducks were making fun of him. (S). As Bob got tired of this, he decided that he must get some help. (CX). Bob knew of an old swan that had taught swim lessons before. Although the swan was old, he was a wonderful teacher. (CX). After much convinceing, the swan agreed to teach Bob. (CX). The swan and Bob was in the pond for hours, Bob gained a lot of swimming ability. (CD). The swan became very proud. (S). Bob had became very confident of his swimming ability, and he decided that it was time to swim in front of the other ducks. (CD). Bob had finally faced his fear, and he now enjoys swimming. (CD).

Today I woke up expecting a normal day but to day was the most unusual day ever! It was pacinzki day! I bounded down the stairs; I was a Mardi Gras reveler rejoicing fat Tuesday. I was the first person in the family to wake up. The freedom of choice was mine! I opened the box; the smell of pastry filled my senses. After viewing the selection, I picked the powder-covered custard. I lifted the milk jug out of the fridge, eager to drink from it. There I was just me and my pacinzki I took my first bite; the custard was smooth and oozed all over. I licked my fingers, thoroughly enjoying it. The cake-like dough felt soft and good in my mouth. Suddenly, my dogs woke up my parents. They were making their way downstairs. The magic ended, I was no longer alone.
She stepped onto the freshly cut field and the sweet smell filling her insides.(CM) her muscels were stretched, ready to work.(CX) when the refferie blew the whistle, a shot of adreniline bolted through her.(CX) her veins pumped with excitement.(S) after running up and down the field yelling, the ball finally found her feet.(CX) her legs burn and her head feels light.(CM) some how she blocks it out, continuing with speed.(CX)
flying past players one after another she feels triumphant.(s)she thought she got past everything but she forgot about the goalie.(CM)as practiced millions of times, she strikes the ball.(CX) the ball soars throught the air with perfect curve and it travels with great speed.(CM) it just slips by the goalie and it lands in the lower left corner. (CM)so many hours of hard work finally paid off.(s)
Joe wasn't always a ladies man.(S). Joe was very smooth; but hardly ever got the girl.(CD). One day Joe decided he needed help; so he called up a date doctor named Shitheed.(CD). Tank taught him all he could about girls.(S). Joe just did not understand, he still could not get the girls.(CX). Joe finally found the women of his dreams, A tall skinny brunette named Laquisha.(CX). Laquisha was a very hard get to talk to, she was very popular and everyone new her.(CD). Shitheed gave Joe a special potion; but it wasn't just any kind of potion it turned him in to Flavor Flav.(CD). Laquisha was not attracted by Flav(Joe); he was sad.(CX). He didn't understand, Laquisha liked him the way he was before and didn't want him to change.(CX) Laquisha and Joe got married, and Shitheed got fired.(CD).

Marc was a very cool kid.(S). He was always good with the ladies and always funny.(CD). One day he had a great idea, he was going to skip school.(CX). Now Marc knew that he could get caught and possibly punished.(CD). The next day Marc arrived in Mr.F's class and he played like everything was cool.(CD) Marc thought he had gotten away with skipping.(S). Because Mr.F was the coolest teacher ever, he decided to wait until the end of class before he confronted Marc.(CX) Mr.F and Marc were cool with eachother and they got along well.(CD). When Mr.F asked Marc where he was the day before, Marc said he wasn't feeling good.(CX). Mr.F then wanted to know why he saw Marc at the earing store during Mr.F's lunch break.(S) Marc was speechless, he knew that he had been caught.(CX). Mr.F laughed and said don't worry about it.(S). Mr.F thought that he was really funny but Marc had a little scare.(CD). The two joked about that kind of stuff the whole year and the class was always fun.(CD)
Steffie is having a hard time with this. (S) I really dont think she understands lit. (S) so she is here writing, hoping its correct. (CD) Her day today was very busy, she was very sick. (CD) She woke up at 3 am, and she through up, she could not fall back asleep. (CX) When she finally fell asleep, she had a dream about feeling better. (CX) She hates being sick. To make her day better she had to go to work, atleast it got her mind off being sick. (CX) At work she cleaned, she was a busy bee. (CD) At the end of her shift she went home tired, and sleepy, but she was nervous bc she had alot of homwork. (CX) So, she got started on it right away, and soon enough she became inches away from done. (CD)

so there is this story about a manatee i heard from a friend yesterday. (S) Brian, Eric, and their parents went to an aquarium whilst in Florida. (S) During Their travels, they came across the manatee tank. (CX) Since those damn things are so cuddly, they walked up to the tank to check them out. (CX) once they were near the glass, they started searching for a manatee to glance at. (CX) They had spotted the most cuddly looking manatee in the entire tank, which they had presumed that the manatee had weighted about 400 Pounds. (CD) so the manatee starts swimming towards them, with eric and brian sharing the same thought, that the manatee was coming right towards them. (CD) They had only thought that the manatee would come up to the edge of the tank, but no, the manatee just keeps swimming. (CD) Now, The Funniest part happens. (S) The Manatee Hits the edge of the tank, where the water and glass meet. (CD) Then The Manatees neck fat ripples around its face, and then you can see the manatees face. (CX) To me, this was a very hilarious story. (S)

Jin was a foreign exchange student from South Korea.(S) He was having great time until the second semester started.(CD) In one of the new semester classes, there was a teacher named Mr.Kay.(CX) Honestly Jin didn't even know that he was a teacher before.(CX) Despite of the fact, Jin thought it'll be funny class just like Mr.Kay's appearance.(CX) Actually it seemed funny at first.(S) However, since Mr.Kay started calling Jin, Bob, Jin began getting irritated.(CX) One day, Jin told Mr.Kay not to call him Bob.(S) Mr.Kay asked Jin what he wanted to be called as, and Jin said 'John'.(CD) But Mr.Kay was so much obsessed to the idea that he had to create Jin's new name.(CX) After bunch of times of arguments, Jin's new name became Phil.(CX) On grammar day, however, Mr.Kay made a example sentence with the name 'Phil' to make fun of Jin, and, of course, Jin thought 'what a baby.'(CD) But Jin was so genius that he made himself untouchable existence from Mr.Kay.(CX) Jin just switched his name with a guy, whose name was Ty.(CX) After all, Mr.Kay could not make fun of Jin, and he was found crying in the classroom after class. (CD)
Mike was a good student. (S) He was always being teased by his classmates, and he always wanted to go home and cry. (CD) On the way to school, he always passed by the dark street at the end of his street. (CX) Normally he would think nothing of it, and today was like no other day. (CD) However, while he was passing today, he noticed something unfamiliar. (CX) Two bullies were hiding in the bushes, and they popped out in front of Mike. (CD) Mike was scared out of his mind. (S) The bullies wanted his lunch money, so he gave it to them. (CD). While they were at it, they also made him do their homework. (CX) Deciding he was never going that way again, Mike treaded on to school. (CX)

Alex was having the best day ever.(s) She found 50 dollars on the street, no one in sight.(cd) She decided to tell her friends what she found.(s) They all claimed it was cool, but told her she should turn it in. (cx) Alex thought that was dumb.(s) Instead she saved it, waiting to spend it on somehting she really needed. (cx) Her idea of saving it worked at first.(s) She realized she wanted to buy some clothes, mom nevers buys her clothes anyway.(cd) She went shopping, spent all her money, than she realized the clothes she bought she didnt even want.(cx) She just blew all her money.
