As we conclude watching this movie it is evident that under the appropriate circumstances one can change initial perceptions while others still only see what they want to see. Interesting that upon learning the truth about the accident with Mr. McLean that even Charles may initially rethink his position on his "friend."
Why do you think Charles is able to change his perceptions in regards to McLeod while others did not? What did he see that others refused to see? How does the actions of the town make McLeod have to rethink his own perceptions of the town he is living in? Finally, how does this movie make you think about how you create perceptions or deal with social injustice in your own life?

Mr. Kay,
I think that there are a couple definite reasons why Charles can change his perceptions on McLeod while others can't. The obvious one is he actually knows who he is. McLeod sort of grew on him as they became friends. Also, sort of banking off of the growing part, he said he can hardly see the scars anymore. That was one of the only things that Charles could perceive differently at the starting is because of the scars. They don't matter to him, but to everyone else, it's a flaw. The reasons others refuse to see McLeod as just another person and treat him equally is that they just don't care that much. They would much rather talk gossip so they have something to do besides just having another friend. It really seems like their loss though. McLeod rethinks his own perceptions on the town is a couple of instances. One would be when they call the little mini trial type thing, because they expect that he is harming Charles. His past, especially in the eyes of regular townsfolk, is his business. He was suspected of molesting the other boy, and people think that because one person said that, and now he's working with a kid, he must be doing something to Charles. Also he doesn't like it when the grocery store closes down early and tells him it because they are to old. We all know it's is just because of new troubles that are coming up and he gets mad and tries to kill himself. He rethinks that people are just being biased so he thinks the town is bad. This movie mad me recognize that perceptions mean a lot. They could actually ruin your life just like McLeod's life. No one believes him, no one cares about him, everyone's biased towards him and it ruins his life. This is all for the exception of Charles. Also, the part when McLeod is yelling at Charles to see if he really expects him to have harmed a boy meant a lot to me. If the Charles believes McLeod did it, then it happened, at least in his mind, but if not then no. This is really an inspirational movie about perceptions, but it also shows how they can be flawed.

I think one major reason why Charles can change his perceptions is because he actually knows him. Charles is the only person that mcloed talks to and he says he is his best friend. No one else knows mcleod enough to be able to change there perceptions besides Charles. I think what Charles seen that other people didn't is that mcloed really isn't that scary. Once he got to know him a little bit he they became good friends. The actions from the town mcloed lives in is that they think he is scary and he is a child abuser. Everybody thinks that he abused the kid in the car before they got in the car crash when mcloed got all his burns. This movie makes me feel guilty for criticizing people before I got to talk to them. Before creating perceptions you should talk to the person and get to know them a little bit better before you think differently.

I think that Charles can change his perceptions on mcloed because he is always looking for the best in someone because he doesnt have it at home. I think that everyone else is looking for something bad against him because they havent given him a chance and dont need himmin there lives. I tihnk that charles is seeing the knowledge and wisdom of Mcloed. I tihnk that he also sees someone like himself who is looking for somone to really be friends with. I think that the town is making mcloed rethink about it because he sees how they treat him after one rumor is started. They didnt let the past go, and he thought him living in exile was going to make them forget about everything he did. BUt it didnt. I think that this didnt change my opinion on my own life. I am thankful that i dont have one person in my society that everyonee has something against. I also think that social injustices are not this large scale in my case, but i think that they need to be ended.
Mr. Kay,
I believe that Charles was able to change his mind about McLeod while others wern't because he spent everyday with McLeod. He knew more about him than anyone in that town. Charles saw past Mcleod's scares. Charles could hardly notice them after spending everyday together. Charles saw past the facts that Mcleod went to jail, and what the news paper said about the crash, and the little boy. While everyone else, went along with what the newspaper said. They didn't even think to get to know him. Mcleod had to rethink about the town he was living in because he noticed that everyone only thought about his past instead of the true facts of his life. They thought that because of the boy that was killed in the car accident, that Mcleod was and would always be the same person. I feel that this movie has shown me that just because someone says someting about someone, it doesn't mean its true! Its just like spreading rumors, they can be true or they can be false.

I think that charles is able to change his preception on Mr. McLeod because he got to know him. Charles found out that he really is a very nice person and is nothing like what the town thinks. He saw that he was a caring loving person who is nice if you get to know them. The town refused to see that. The actions of the town made him rethink his preception because no one was getting to know the real him. This movie makes me think about how i creat preception by it makes me think that i should get to know someone before i judge them. They could turn out to be really nice and be a good friend.

I think that Charles was able to change his perception of Mr. McLeod once he got to know him by the tutoring he received from Mr. McLeod. Charles got passed the physical aspects of Mr. McLeod and learned to look at Mr. McLeod's true charactor. I believe we shall all take a lesson from this. We all need to give other people the same treatment based on that person's charactor. McLeod rethinks his own perceptions of the town because the town is still making false assumptions about him like accusing him of hurting Charles. He is angry that the people continue to say bad things about him. This makes me think how I have made false assumptions based on stories and what other people have said about another person without actually truly knowing that person. People have a natural tendancy to believe certain things because others around them do. After watching this movie I will hopefully not make false judgement based on hearsay.
I think Charles is able to change his perceptions in regards to McLeod by actually getting to know him. The actions of the town makes McLeod rethink his own perceptions by going to that meeting. Also, the owner of the store said that he had to come back his regular hours. So I think he is starting to feel like an outsider. This movie makes me think how to create perceptions in my life by making good choices. How I deal with social injustice is if someone feels left out I will go ask if they want to come join us. Thats how the movie create perceptions and deal with social injustice.

Charles changed his perceptions of Mcleod for many reasons. First of all, he saw how much he helped him with studying for his exam. Mcleod was also an honest man and always told Charles what was on his mind. Charles looked past his face and saw what kind of person he was on the outside rather than on the inside. Others chose to make assupmtions of Mcleod and didn't bother to get to know him. They only saw him for his face and nothing else. Everybody believed him to be a bad man for the accident even though he was convicted for false charges. The actions of the town really make Mcleod rethink his perceptions because he is see as a crazy man. He automatically perceives someone viewing him as weird or abnormal. People treat him different too. He is used to those people which is why he can adapt to them and have the same perceptions about everyone. However, when someone like Charles comes along he has to perceive them as nicer and willing to hear what he has to say. This movie really makes me see the other side of people's lives. If someone is different then it may mean they are sturuggling at home or they had a bad accident. I make perceptions about people and most times those perceptions are tough to change. I think if I can be open to change in people it will make me a better person.

I think Charles is able to change his perceptions in regards to McLeod because as Charles got to know McLeod, he found out he was a really nice guy. Charles saw more than just his face, he saw a kind an honest person that he could trust. Also, Charles saw him as a really good friend to him, because in Charles case he desperatly needed a friend. Instead of Charles automatically assuming that McLeod was different and weird, he actually gave him a chance, which the town didnt take the time to do. The actions of the town had to make Mcleod rethink his own perceptions because he got so used to people perceiving him as this freak and scary person, he actually started believing it. So McLeod eventually changed his opinion of the town to this place where he didnt fit in anywhere, and just became a reclusive person. Sometimes i tend to judge someone by their first appearence. Since i've watched this movie, i have learned to not just judge someone by their looks and get to know them better.

Charles is able to change his perception of McLeod because he has gotten to know the man behind the scars. Once he got past appearances, Charles began to get to know McLeod for who his truly is, and got to know him as a friend. What others refused to see was that a man whose appearance is so frightening, and who has a mysterious past can be a good person. Charles was able to break through that perception to learn that he was. The actions of the town verified that they did not accept McLeod because of how he looked, and what other things people had said. They accused him of false charges only by word of other people. This made McLeod rethink his perception of the town, because he could no longer trust them. He had been living peacefully in that town for seven years, and now he has to relive another trial, a past he was trying to forget about. This movie makes me rethink about the perceptions I have made of other people. Seeing the trouble false perceptions had caused McLeod, I know that I shouldn't perceive a person based on looks or words of others.
the more time charles spent with mcleod the more he stated to get to know him as a person. when they were in the truck driving charles said that hed began to not even notice the scars anymore. most of the others in the town were just judging a book by its cover. it was so nieve and immature of them to out him out of society like that. the town really started to treat him bad just from the perceptions they had formed. not even the local store would stay open late for him anymore. this movie makes me think how people in generall could be less critical and truly get to know someone before they make their judgements. for instance in school so many kids get teased just by the way they look. i think people should wait before they form their perceptions.

Charles changes his perceptions on mcleod because he spends time with him and see's that hes a good guy. Charles talks to mcleod and accualy whats to get to no who he is.Others didnt not change there perceptions on mcleod because they never gave him a chance they never talked to him they just believed what other people said.Others refused to see who mcleod was on the inside they refused to accept mcleod as a human being. Mcleod moved there to get away from everyone and all the troubles he once had but now that all the trouble has started with charles he rethinks that he can never ecape the troubles he had before. This movie had made me realize that everyone does create perceptions on other people, if you do something bad they think that your always going to be that way. Just because you do something bad doesnt mean that your a bad person or that your always going to be that way.

He cared for him. Thats why Charles was able to change his perceptions of Mr. McLeod while others couldn't. He saw what was on the inside, not just the scar. He saw Mr. McLeod for who he was and knew him personally. The perceptions of the town made Mr. McLeod realize how such a little thing as him being around Charles, let alone tutoring him, could change so much. After the people of the town found out about him and Charles they didn't want anything to do with a so called "child molester". Although he was anything but a child molester. This movie made me think about how I deal with social injustices quite a bit. It made me remember how much I help out people that have certain disabilities. I have a best friend that sat by himself today and I went and sat with him instead of with the usual people I sit with.

P.S: I was wondering, Mr. Kay, how much we need on one page for our snapshot. Do we need just one thing on each or more?
I believe that Charles is able to change his perception because he actually got to know Mel Gibson. Others did not get to change their perception because they were too afraid to get to know him because of all of the rumors. The actions of the town make Mel Gibson feel as though he does not belong, although he had already felt this way. He rethinks his perception of the town by thinking that they will believe anything that they hear. This movie makes me change my perception on everything. It makes me think twice about how I view people.

Charles could change his perception about McLeod when others did not because Charles knew him. He knew that he would never abuse a kid like that. He saw a kind and caring person, like when he told McLeod that he could not see his scars anymore, he got passed them.Other people did not see him as a caring person though, they just saw a criminal. McLeod in the beginning liked the town for the most part it seemed like. The people at the grocery store stayed open late so he could get stuff he needed etc. But after people heard about his past they stopped staying open late and I think McLeod saw them as just like everyone else. This movie kind of makes me see that just because someone may be different on the outside, once you get to know them they could be a really caring person. I think that in today's world people just go off first impressions of someone, like how they look on the outside.

I think Charles can Change and see all of these different things because he is more open than most people, and he is still a younger kid. He saw past the scars, he saw past the rumors. He saw the real Mcleod. Mcleod has to tethink about the town because they all are making and believing these rumors on him and he did not do a thing. This movie relates to my life in certain ways, I often find that rumors are spread about me that are unbelievably False. It sort of hurts knowing that some of my friends would believe the rumors going around when most of them know me so well. The movie shows me not to care about what the rumors say and let my friends decide if they really think i did anything or not.

I think charle is able to change hsi perceptions in regards to Mcleod beacasue he has got to know him and has seen the other side of himl. One could say that before he was just looking at this burnt side of his face but now he looks at the other normal side and that how he sees him now, normal. Other refused to look beyond the burnt face and see the real Mcleod and see him as a real person. After Mcleod is treated like he abused Charle, he rethinks the town, and how they did not trust his word. They do not trust him and say that he did things to Charle, which is not true. Mcleod may tun is back to the town and leave beacause of what and how thery are treating him. This movie makes me think that how just by apperace someone may turn you away or just beacause the color of your hair is an example. It also rememdes me ow i deal with injustice, which is just injoring them and standing up for what is right.

Mr. Kay,
Charles was a person who saw the true Mcleod. He knew who he was when others thought that they knew him and the kind of person he is and not the true him. People said that Mcleod was a bad man because of the trial that he went through. Through all the time they spent together, he learns that all the people that are talking about Mcleod like they know him are liars and untruthful. Charles started to beleieve those people for a little while, but then thought about what he was thinking about and knew that they were all liars and did not know who Mcleod was as a person and a teacher. This movie made me think about perceptions and opinions. I think that its terrible that we people can allow someone else to influence our opinions or perceptions.
Tim Wilson
I think that Charles was able to change his perceptions while others weren't, because after a while he looked past the scars and looked into McLeod as an actually person. This is actually surprising, because people who have lived in the town for a while still won't change, but such a young boy can. Charles looked what was on the inside, and began to grew really close with McLeod, and enjoyed his time spent with him. What Charles saw that others did that was that he was a teacher, and was a form of an artist. Charles saw him as a regular person, not a freak. Someone that actually cared for him and that he began to care for as well. Everyone else just listens to the rumors they hear, not even thinking twice whether or not they may be true. McLeod starts to think that he is the terrible person that they all think he is. He needs to stand up for himself. Just because he has scars on his face doesn't make him any less of a person that the next person. This movie makes me really think that I shouldn't judge people, or just assume that what I hear is true. I should take the time to actually get to know the other person, before making any kind of judgments. How we should deal with social injustice in our lives and just ignore it. Don't get involved with it. Make the most of your life.

I think Charles could change his perceptions because he took the time to get to know him. As Charles said hes my befriend. I can tell him anything. Charles saw the nice and good nice of McLean. While other were to busy starting rumors and spreading them. No one had really even gotten to know him at all. Even everyone is meaning mean to him just because of the whole Charles thing. He always drove right into a bit truck on his way home from the store. People would disrespect him in so many different ways. You shouldn't always believe what you hear. If you do believe you will never really get to know who the person is. They could be true or not, don't always go with what you hear.
Charles changed his perceptions of McLeod because he really got to know him. He relized what kind of man he was and they became best friends. Others did not change their minds because they didn't get to know him. They were too afraid of McLeod to give him a chance. Charles sees that he is a good and trustworthy man while the others see that since he is scarred and secretive that he must have done something horible. McLeod figured that the town he lived in would leave him alone as long as he left them alone. However, even though McLeod did nothing, they are makeing accusations of him so he's not sure if this town is worth living in anymore. This movie makes me relize that when I make perceptions I am actually causeing many problems. It is unfair of me to pass judgment and I have no clue what the person has been through.

I think that charels was able to change his perceptiond because he got to know Mcleod. Other people diddn't even know him. Most poeple didn't even see him. He saw what others refused to see because they wanted to believe the stories and keep it a mystery. It was something exciting in there small town. The actions of the town makes mcleod rethink the his own perceptions because he just wants to live alone. When charels comes into his life it is diffenet for him. Rumors start going around and Mcloed is acused of thing that he didn't do. So he feels if the town wants to look at him the way they feel, he should mabey act like that. This movie makes me think diffently about my perceptions. It makes you realize that not everything that you hear is true. You should get to know the person before you make perceptions.

Charles could change his opinions of McLeod because they were friend. Charles developed a relationship of friendship and truth while others stayed ignorant. Charles was able to see the person the McLeod was, his happy angry and vulnerable side. The actions of the town make McLeod rethink the citizens a great deal. Because he is different he is being prosecuted for molestation. he even tells the sheriff that he has done nothing to any of the citizens he just sits at his house and never comes out to bother. This movie makes me think differently about perceptions. it makes me a little bit more hesitant before i make a judgment about something or someone.
I ihnk that there are a two main reasons why Charles can change his perception. One is being the factor that he is constently hanging out with him and can see the real McLeod. Also, he doesn't worry about his looks anymore. I say this because of the factor that he siad, "i don't really notice the scars anymore." The scars are just nothing to him, which is good. McLeod has to rethink his perceptions because everyone thinks he is a crazy man. He right away thinks that everyone is thinking he is wierd and different. This movie makes me think that jst because of how they look doesn't mean anything. Also, Don't go of what others ay or else you will never know what the real truth is.

The reason that charles can change his perspective so easily is because he sees the real Mr. Mcleod. HE is a nice man who is helping him to get what he wants. Others just see him as a man who abuses younge boys and now he is doing it to Charles. Charles saw what a nice man Mcled is and that he is problly the nicest person in town. Mcleod starts to see the town think he is abusing charles and start to look at him funny again. After 7 years of being in peace the people in the town still make rumors and hate him for no reason. The people even stopped him from going to get food at the store becuase he was getting questioned by the police. This movie makes me see that there is always 2 sides to a story. ! of those sides are ture and there is no way of telling who is telling the turth so you just have to have trust in those peole. I've also learned that creating perceptions about people can really effect there lives. Like Mcleod wanted to kill himself because he couldn't take people always hateing him and creating false truths about him.

I think that Chuck changed his mind about McLeod because he got to know him. Chuck saw what was behind the scars and saw a true person. He saw that he is not some physco. That McLeod is an actual person, who has feelings. Chuck saw a very nice person in Mcleod. Unlike everybody else. Everybody want to see a freak with burns on his face. Nobody cared that it hurt his feelings. The actions by the town makes him feel like he is not wanted there. He served his time, he didn't want to be bothered. Mcleod didn't make charles come on his propety and asked him for help. I think that McLeod was just fine before Chuck. This movie made me see that if somene that does look or act what most people would consider "normal" to remember that they are still people. That they all have blood like us, they all can cry when they are made fun of. They can fell thing becaue they are human just like all of us.

I think Charles was able to change his perception about Mr. McLeod because he took time to get to know him and look past his scars. I think others are not able to change there perception because he was accused for doing stuff with the other kid and they think he will do it again to Chuck. The actions of the town make McLeod feel like he dose not exist. Like how the store he always went to wouldn't let him come by late to get his supplies. This movie made me think that people make perceptions because they really don't know who they are as a person. Social injustice happens because people don't want to take time to learn about people who may seem weird to you. Like in the movie Friday the 13 Jason kills people because people treated him poorly when he was a child.

The reason Charles could change his perceptions of Mr.Mclead was, I think, Charles himself in a certain situation of feeling being out of the people around him and being hated as well as having complaint and dissatisfaction toward them, therefore, he felt simpathy. Charles could see Mr.Mclead's beauty as a human nature and personality after he got to know him closer. However people in the town frustrate McLead and Charles with their sight as if Mclead cannot be taking care of Charles because the perception the people made of Mclead, even though they did not even try to approach at him. This movie shows how social injustice, the way people perceive the handicapped or the people who are different from them like Africans or different races, can make the victims feel heavy and tight. I, also, since my mother is an elementary teacher who is taking care of mentally handicapped students, had bunch of chances to meet them and take care of them. That's why, I guess, I'm not that reluctant to those guys, and could not help other guys making fun of them and bullying them, but rather tried to stop them. Like we saw in this movie, the perception people in a community make of certain people wrongly can frustrate them. It's not merely a certain group of people's problem but also this world has to deal with the problem with seriousness.
I think that Charles is able to change his perceptions in reagards to McLeod because he took the time to get to know him. In doing so, he formed a great friendship with McLeod and got to know more than just the rumors of him. Even though others could not see it, Charles knew about the pain that McLeod had because of the car crash. The two seemed to connect with each other and got to know the other on a deeper level. The actions of the town make McLeod rethink about his own perceptions of the town when he accused of abusing Charles. He knew people made up rumors about him, but he never thought that negative perceptions of others would turn into accusations this large. Now, instead of just looking over the town's insane ideas, he has to try to show them how ridiculous they are being. Now I know that when you make perceptions of others that you don't know, it can hurt them. You may think that just because you think about them that way, you're just one person and that cannot possibly affect another person. This movie shows that every person slowly starts adding up and eventually, a whole group of people can think that way. In order to help prevent social injustices, we can all try not to label people as something unless we truly know them. Just because you may think a person is a certain way doesn't mean that your perception should affect how you act towards them.

We first make perceptions on how people look, but they can change. Once you get to know somebody, everything can be different. Charles changed his perceptions of McLeod because he got the chance to find out who he is as a person. Everyone else knows him by his scars, and how he looks. Charles saw the real man behind the scars.he relized McLeod could be a decent guy and a good teacher. it was different for him when he went to McLeod's house to be tutored because he actually believed in him. at points it seemed like he was a father figure to Charles since his dad died. I personally try not to judge other people before I get to talk to them and know more about them because i don't like it when people judge me when they don't know me.
That some of the people that look different aren't always the weird ones. he can get to know that some different people are the nicest people you can find. his perception can change drastically. the town thinks that McLeod is a child molester because he has been charged of it. they think that he is doing it to the kid to and hes not. if only the people knew that he is only tutoring nordsted for a exam coming up. this make me feel that personal perceptions are huge in society because that's the way people look at you and how they feel about you. and that cant be made up by other people for you.
I think that charles is able to change his perceptions on mccloud because he has had a lot of bad people in his life. He believes that their is good in everyone. I think that everyone else doesn't change their perceptions because they don't need mccloud in their lives and have fun creating phony perceptions about him. I think that deep down charles knows that he is a good guy and that mccloud is very wise. Charles knows that he can learn a lot from mccloud. The actions of the town automatically makes mccloud perceive that everyone thinks that he is messed up and weird. People treat him diffrently too, and I think that he eventually got used too people treating him diffrent. I think that this movie makes you think twice before making perceptions because they are often wrong. You can not jump to conclusions.

I think Charles is able to change his perception because he has spent time with McLeod. He sees him as a nice person also as a teacher and friend. Other people refused to see that he is a good person. Charles knew him so well he didn't even see the scars anymore. McLeod rethinks where he lives because of the problem that has arisen. People seem to hate him and judge him off what the news said. It makes me think about how other people judge each other on how they look. How they separate from each other just because ones wearing ambercrombie and the other is wearing Hollister.

I think Charles is able to change his perceptions of Mcleod because he got to know him. He looked beyond what Mcleod looked like on the outside and knew him as a person. charles in the car had told Mcleod I do not even see your scars anymore. This is because he knew him on a different level than anyone else did. Others refused to look past his scars, and get to know him more. Mcleod perceptions of the town he is living in, is he has lived in peace and no one bothers him. However towards the end of the movie these standards of the towns people change. They start to treat him like an actual monster. I think the perceptions I create are most of the time pretty fair. As far as social injustices and me handling them, I do not judge harshly.

chuck was able to change his perceptions on mcleod because he started to see past his face. what i mean by this is, he truely started to see what he was a as a person, and not the town freak. like in the movie chuck told mcloed he couldnt see his scars anymore, to chuck his was normal. other people in the town did not bother to get to know the nice man, because they new of what they thought he was, and this wasnt true. they dont really care that he is a nice man, what they see is what he was charged for, and what was left on his face. mcloed has to rethink his own town hes living in because the town doesnt really believe him with anything. so, they call him to a meeting, because awhile back he was charged with molesting another school boy, and they think he is doing the same to chuck. he has no trust in this town any longer. this movie all together was inspirational and i think that people, [and myself] should use the lesson to try to get to know someone before you just make a glance at them. me, i try to make new friends and do new sports, but i always have those certain friends, i think i should make newer friends, id feel better about myself.

The only reason charles changed his perceptions is because he got to know Mcleod. Everybody else automatically made peceptions about him based on his past and rumors. charles saw the side of him that was caring. He also saw the side that was outgoing and an energetic man. Mcleods perceptions changed with the store owners and the authorities. He was doing ok until charles wanted help. The store owners would stay late, but stopped. The authorites left him alone, but now they just accuse him. In the future, i will try not to make false perceptions of others. I will give those a chance that may not get chances with others.

The reason why charles was able to change his percetion of mr. mcleod while others did not, was because he actually took the time to talk to him even though he was different. He was able to see past his scars and became unaffraid to get to know him, and realize that just because someone looks differnent, doesn't always mean that there so different on the inside. The actions of the town that made mcloed have to rethink his own perceptions of the town he was living in were: people's bad judgement of him because of his scars, people thinking he was malesting charles just because he was tutoring him for his exam, and thinking that he was so different just because he wanted to be alone. The way this movie helps me make percptions about people is realizing that if you look different on the outside it doesn't always mean that their different on the inside and can still be a good person. The way it helps me deal with socail injustice in my own life is learning that you shouldn't believe everything you here or see.
Chuck has many reasons why his perception on McCloud can change, while others cannot. He has spent time with McCloud and learned who he truley is. HE befriends McCloud and realized the town has the complete wrong idea of him. The town people cant realize who he really is because they made up thier minds, and wont even talk to him. Everyone htinks he is a bad man because of the accident. When in reality, McCloud will never forgive himself for the accident and never hurt anyone. Peoples perceptions are just ignorant sometimes and can ruin lives. Some people dont change thier perceptions no matter what becacause they have thier mind set that they are right. Some people are just hardheaded and wont accept anything they didnt think was right.

I think Charles is able to change his perceptions becasue he has the ability to see past McLead's burnt face. He even said, while they are riding in the car, that he doens't even notice the marks on his face. I think they have also a good trusting relationship where they will not lie to each other. So when McLead says that he was falsely accused, Charles believes him. Charles sees the truth behind everything in McLead's life and understands him. McLeod thought he could get away from the town by moving where he did, but the officer still came up there to tell him about the informal meeting. So he has to rethink this perception and decided that the world is still curious about him, but yet to affraid to face him. This movie relates to the way i create perceptions becasue it shows you that not everyone that looks like a freak is. There is always something under the surface of someone.
charles was able to change his perceptions, because he did not know very much of mr. Mcleod background. charles saw Mr. Mcleod for his true self, and not of which other saw him as. charles didn't see his scars, because he got over them. the town is rising up, almost against him, because they are all thinking he abused this young child. no one ever knew because charles never told anyone. now if i was the mother, i would be just as worried as her. of course there a lot of points in this movie that are a bit convincing that Mr. Mcleod would do such actions. now it really makes me think that, there is always three sides to the story; side A, side B, and the truth. and i think the perceptions we all make, are always affected by others way more than we create them. in all, i think perceptions are great, but negative ones that spread rumors never end good for side A or B.
Mr.Kay,
I think that charles was able do change his perception on Mr.McLeod because he knows him. He knows about his past, and knows what kind of person he is now. Others chose not to change their perceptions of him because they didnt want to. I think what charles had seen in Mr.McLeod was trust, and friendship. Charles chose to get to know him, to treat him with respect and like anyothe person. The others didnt, in their eyes he didnt deserve the respect because of what had happened in the past. I think that mr.McLeod feels distrusted when the town treats him like hes a bad person for tutoring a boy after what they think he had did. I think that he probally feels like he's not accepted as a person. This movie has made me realize that making perceptions on people can really hurt them. Expecally if they are complte opposite from who they really are.

I think Charles can change his perceptions because he knows the truth. Mcleod did not do anything to harm him so he still trusts him. Charles knows Mcleod is his best friend and helps him. The rest of the town see's him as a criminal. The town trys to get Mcleod in trouble so he can get put back in jail. Mcleod gets mad and ignors people even more than before.
This movie tells me not to make instant preceptions because there not true. People need to be looked at into farther than just the surface. This will teach me to respect people a bit more in life.
I think that charles can find the best in McLeod because charles trys to look at whats inside rather than outside. Charles spends so much time with McLeod that he later says he can't even see the scars on his face. He always wants to know the truth and I think that since McLeod told him the story about what happened that charles trusted him. Other people only look at that he went to jail and looks like a monster. They only care about whats on the outside. The people only want to look at the flaws and not the good in him. This makes me think that perceptions of others arn't always true. I think that it is also bad to have false perceptions about people that you don't know.
I think Charles is able to change his perception on McLeod because he took the time to get to know him. After a while he began to notice that he doesn't really see his scars anymore. the town starts accusing him of being crazy. They start to ignore him, and they don't let him get groceries at the time he always has gotten them. They think he has hurt the boy just because of what the stories have said. They don't actually sit down and "Listen" to him. I think that I am sometimes quick to judge someone. But in other situations I am not. I think that I like to keep an open mind and try to see the best in people.

Mr. Kay as you know that I was not hear on Friday because I was sick. So I tried to find the movie on hulu.com, iTunes, On Demand, Blockbuster, and a couple of other sites and they did not have it. So I will try to the best of my ability.
Well I think that Charles was able to change his perceptions in regards to McLeod while others did not because Charles never really fitted in with others. He seems to except things the way they are. Though it might take him a while to except it. He sees that McLeod is a brilliant man that was just in a tragic accident that disfigured him and he wants to live alone. Not a unknown man with untrue stores about him, which is what others see in McLeod.
In this movie it made me think of how I create perceptions by learning about what my parents and friend think. I also make them by how I feel as a person.
I think becuase he has spent the time to get to know who he actually is. They got closer and became friends. They became such good friends that Charles said that he didnt even notice the scars anymore. Charles see the good side of him and the nice friendly side. While everyone else just sees him as what they have heard about him. Mcleod rethinks his own peceptions of the town he is living in by they have a meeting with him because they think that he has been abusing Charles. This movie shows that you should always get to know someone before juding them. Dont judge a book by its cover. I tend to not like people sometimes cause of how they look or what i have heard. I've learned that what you see or hear isnt always the truth.
Sorry my blog is late my internet was down.
I think he has changed his perception on McLeod because charles knows him better and because he has been with him more then the others. He see that McLeod didnt rape the boy when eveyone else believes he did. The way the oths are giving their perception to him made he almost kill himself but almost hitting the truck. I think we should keep our perceptions to ourself when it comes to thing like in the movie. People dont thing about it when it comes down to it, and when it comes down to that time were people want to do thing to themselfs it matters. So i believe we should keep our perceptions to ourself.

Sorry this is late Mr. Kay. I forgot to tell you on friday but my mom picked me up from school and I left to go up north and theres no computer there. So I'm doing it now.
Charles is able to change his perceptions of Mcleod because he has actually taken the time to get to know him and isn't judging him. He saw that he was really a good person and was wrongfully committed of a crime he didn't do. Mcleod rethinks his perceptions of the town because he thought it would all be over. He thought he would stay alone and not be bugged and that things would be forgotten but he was wrong and the people are so much more nosey. I think that the town people and judges and others being mean to mr. mcleod and being judgemental is a social injustice towards him. There are social injustices in my life and I guess to deal with them we should just keep acting and not react or stoop down to their level and fight back. People create perceptions and I know that sometimes I am guilty of that too. We often judge people based on their looks when we first meet them or by rumors that we've heard. This is bad and we need to be careful.
I feel charles perceptions changed because of the relationship between the two. At first charles judged and made perceptions on mcloed just on the way he looked and acted. After a while charles ebven says it himself that he does not even see any of the scars on his face anymore. charles believed and felt this way because he has seen the same outside of mcleod that everyone else has but has gottin to learn more about the true mcleod. Many thought mcleod was just a nasty man, when really he was a great person. After watching this movie and looking back at how i percieve people sometimes i have found that i have been making mistakes for a long time. i need to stop judging books or people by their covers and just get to know them better.
