Day 12

Emily Dickinson writes a great deal about nature, death, success, loss, and hope in her writings. Using one of these themes, I would like you to write your own poem that helps us understand you. The poem must be at least 10 lines and linked to one of the above themes.

Today I will being writting a poem about Death and Loss.

Gone away
Nowhere to be found
So full of life
Now six feet beneith the ground

The trees are gray
The sky is black
Snow is falling
Everything goes back

We lost you
Now three years pass
Still here wish you were back.

No one is sight,
no one to help me,
i lost everything,
i lost everyone,
Now trying to get help,
trying to be better,
trying to be successful,
but no one in sight,
How do i do good,
With no inspriation,
How do i go each day with no motivation.

My poem is about loss.

It seems so long
Since I last saw you
Nothing seemed wrong
You thought so too

Now we're apart
With nothing to say
You broke my heart
So i'm not okay

I want to see you
With nothing to say
And nothing to do.

To begin one's reign
to be on top
to end ones pain
to never stop.

Ambition doesn't end
To end a woe
To help a friend
To squash a foe

As like a fire
not caring who we burn
To contradict desires
even those we yearn

Yeah it sorta like success and loss.

One second
a heartbeat goes on
One minute
now it is dawn

One hour
passes by without a glance
One day
now you've lost your chance

One year
comes and goes so fast
One lifetime
you wish hadn't past

This poem is about the loss of time, and how life goes by too quickly.

For Dickinson's poems, they seem vague. I'm not sure if she was trying to say anything. My guess is that she was trying to get people inspired because her poems are full of metaphors that can be interpreted in different ways.

I chose to be write a poem on success.

Excelling in school
Going many places
Achieving goals
Putting smiles on faces

The future is bright
No one can stop you
Report cards are great
Learning everything new

Focusing on the prize
Earning A's with hard work
One bad grade
Would cause me to go beserk

Mr. Kay,

For my poem, I am going to use the theme of nature to better describe me. My poems title will be "For My Song".

"For My Song"

As the mountains have a cover, a field of all green
For my song tells of which it is favorite of me

When the horizon shows the sky, a ribbon of gold
For my song explains its path, from the head to the colar bone

From the tallest trees that wait beyond the meadows break
For my song tells you of what many feet a boundry must take

As an arrow shoots past a washing stone
For my song brings about the answer to my speedy unknown

If a wolf cries to save the pack, understand the cause that makes it do that
For my song knows of courage, its only shining light, that beats down on the movers that bring her to life

For my song has expressed its very last request
The forest can now lay as peacful at rest.

Above and beyond
in which they reach.
Grasping the dreams,
in which they seek.

To succeed at one

To succeed at all,
is a test.

On succeeding

Mr. Kay,
I wasn't there today so I read some of this Emily Dickinson's Poems and I think I might have an idea.

This is about Nature.

----------------------------------

We sit here complaining as we are locals,

No one likes the area or the weather,
though I find comfort in wearing a sweater.

Frozen over lakes, I would miss,
others say they are fed up with up with this.

Sometimes, they say it's to warm, and by bugs we'll be bittin'
But really, nothing is better then living in the Mitten',

They say the roads are bad and they are eroding,
But I know that Mother is just growing.

"Cali would be better, where it's nice and warm,"
If the decision was to me, I'd be torn.

Clouds form animals, in our eyes,
but they go fast, floating in the sky's

Skateboard, I just might,
but the rocks under my wheels,I would fight.

But as I would miss the stop rocks,
I would also miss the dirty locks.

We see White, red, brown, and blue in just this place,
But to me, It comes with grace.

The place I live is like no other,
with Mom, Dad, my friends, my brother.

We couldn't see a day like this, anywhere, again,
but Michigan.
----------------------------------
I tried.

my poem will be at success:

Crouched steady
with what feels like a
bomb inside
the gun is pulled and
the runner unites

paced with the speed of
a bullet the sprinter explodes towards the finish

the last few steps test him
they instill fear in his aching legs
finally he thrusts forwards
and with much success sees gold

My poem is about loss.

Swallowed with grief
My memories temp me
Mock and tease
Of the alleged deceased

So vivid he lives in my mind
His smile etched in my eyes
It was a departure
Silent of goodbyes

Everyday a memory lost
A slight a day will disappear
But I’m forced to ask
How to move on when he’s still here

Mr.Kay,
I am choosing to write about death...

My eyes are drawn to the distant beyond
I know the time is near
my pain and loss will all be gone
for I have not one fear

And now the clouds are spread apart
split from east to west
Now the lord will judge my heart
with him i shall find rest

As aproaching my golden light
I look back on my shortend life
I'm sorry for the pain i've caused and now body is put on pause

With only one more glance to make
I choose to not look down
For I am now dicovering the unknown world I found!

I wrote this poem in the eyes of someone who is dying, from old age or and incurible desease.

My poem, already written in my Snapshot Notebook, deals with a lost love. Wasn't really thinking when i wrote it at first, but i revised it a bit.

"..."
I love you, i love you not-
a heart tied in a crazy knot.
When love is hate,
and distaste to longing.
I loved you, I love you not.
~
Rong around the rosey/rosy
with you, the cold was cozy.
Ashes to ashes-
lust to dust-
heart no longer beats with trust.
~
Eenie-meenie, calm and cold
secrets never to be told.
If you've cried, I'd have known.
Deep and dark, no light shone.
~
Out in the grass-
rosary in hand-
you'll lie there waiting
for me to understand.
~~

Lonliness bred this dark love for gothic and sadistic poetry... But I love it so, and that's why I write it.

My poem is about loss,

Don't wish to take that risk
I'll wait for the next

Yet those moments turn days
And those days into years

Time feels as though passing slowly
But how did i get here

Perhaps tomorrow everything I want
Will be handed over to me

But the chances of that happening
Would be like winning the lottery

Maybe those risks
Could have led me there

Oh well ill never know
Because that time has disappeared

My poem is about death.

A lifetime of memories
A Lifetime of pain
You taught me everything
I was your baby, your everything
Life got hard like it usually does
All you saw was sadness and loss
You couldn't see that it was putting loss upon us.
Things started to get better
Like a light at the end of a very dark tunnel
Only to get our hopes up and shine us back down.
We remember you for your true self
Not the man we saw for so many years
The real you was the one everyone loved
The real you is the person everyone will miss.
I'll always love the man I called my father
If he is with me, or not.

I close my eyes
Once again I have returned
To a place pristine
I find peace, quiet
In my minds eye I travel the well-trodden paths of boys before
Wondering if they saw the same beauty
The canopy of trees
The sunlight dappling through the leaves
The mist rising in the morn
The weathered stone
The totem pole
The clear cool water in the artesian well
The forest, lush and green
The carpet of ferns
The mint plants smelled of wintergreen
The magnificent campfires
The boys and young men’s voices lifted up in a rowdy song
Everyone joking, laughing, enjoying
The embers dying
The songs last closing
The quiet walk back

his corner alone,
alone, self minded,
self minded, but wanting to change the world

a single note
every single time,
out of key, out of rhyme,
out of time.

now sitting at his desk,
trying to find content in his thoughts,
never satisfied with his image,
his thoughts, his mind,
running out of time.

who's he kidding,
no one person can choose,
to change the world
with a note,
or a rhyme.

yet every single time,
there is hope, there is content,
there is his way he vents,
alone and self minded,
now content.

with change on the horizon,
his time is out,
he is here to change the world,

for the better,
For all,

so now with every note of every line,
his music changes lives,
all from the alone,
self minded,
now content,
boy in the corner.

happiness all around,
he doesn't find time to be down,
on himself, on his mind
because he knows.

every note,
every single god damned time,
stands in rhythm,
in rhyme,
in key.

but still can't fond time,
to repay to those,
who helped him extend his time.
for all of those people
here it is to you,
my sincerity,
my happiness,
my infinite gratitude,
To you.

As we sit staring at the other team
it seems as if success just wasn't what we could attain
A long time of work and training
only to be the team who's effort wasn't worth the strain

Their screams of joy fill the air
and we just envy in despair.

But does a trophy truly define success?
To that we first think, obviously yes

Then we reflect on the season past
and realize what we've overcome
All the pain just went by really fast
and memories made will hold for years to come

The success we had was far more than a trophy
Our success was made in little steps
Our success was built on a daily basis,
for success does not come overnight
And although we may not own a title for being the best,
the best are not the only ones who can have success.

My poem will be about death and loss. I'll explain it better toward the end.

You feel alone
Your on your own
Like no one understands

You think of the end
Starting over again
That's what your mind demands

You cry at night
To win this fight
You grab the nearest gun

You think you wont be missed
While clenching your fist
Your mind continues to run

Your problems grow bigger
You pull the trigger
Only to find being dead isn't much fun.

The next week your family and friends gather in all black
While they cry
while wondering why,
they wish time would turn back.

"each year approximately one million people die from suicide, which represents a global mortality rate of 16 people per 100,000 or one death every 40 seconds. It is predicted that by 2020 the rate of death will increase to one every 20 seconds." -To write love on her arms.

I am a supporter of the organization to write love on her arms. I wrote this poem in honor of anyone who has ever felt alone and the need to die. I don't think anyone should have to feel so bad about their self that they thing suicide is their only way out. I suck at writing poems ahahah.

I guess my poem is going to be on nature. I'm really not good at this stuff.

Nature
A snow covered world
A magical world
Ice lays on trees like diamonds
Icicles then lose a fight to spring
Flowers bloom
Nurtured by the calm rains
Giving way to a green world
A world of sunshine
But how long can it last?
The leaves explode into colors
Magnificent colors
Eventually dying
Fading to the ground
Covered by a blanket
A blanket of white snow
Again.

Emily Dickinson writes a great deal about nature, death, success, loss, and hope in her writings. Using one of these themes, I would like you to write your own poem that helps us understand you. The poem must be at least 10 lines and linked to one of the above themes.

-The wind swirls
-the trees shake
-now its time to rake
-something once so beautiful now so dull

-its like they disappear
-but their nature is passed
-to new ones of their kind
-but they too must only last so long

-they paint a picture in our minds
- one to remain for all to find
-their beauty is not what they look
-its what they give to all years after they are gone

ok im really confused.
im think of loss but i dont know if this is correct.
i hope i still get the points
