Mr. Kay,

One new current event is a man went into a church and killed many people. This took place in Georgia on Sunday. This man who did this was said to appose the religion being practiced at this church and killed many people. Out of those people 5 of them were children. This event shows just how terrible this world still is, even though we are making progress. This man had no reason to do this but being prejudice to others. I saw this event on FOX NEWS this evening.

One current event was the Grease play at Lakeland Highschool. It took place on the 20, 21, and 22. For each night they sold a different amount of tickets. On thursday the 20they sold 605 tickets. On friday the 21 they sold 640tickets. And on saturday they sold around 700 tickets. I got this from the Oakland press. Also, my sister was in the play and she was phenomenal playing as "Doody", one of the guys. If anyobdy didn't go they missed out extremely.

A current event i found was about pirates and their demeand for money. The topic talked about the reason the attackes on ships are increasing is becasuse the ramsons are being payed. Its hard to decide whether people should be paying these ramsons beacsue if they do its going to make things worse, but if they don't pay many human lifes are being lost. The latest ship captured the Sirius Star on Nov. 15 is currently wanted for 25 million dollors. That 1 million per crew member and is the new all time high which may be reduced beacause of good negotiations. Manily this is happening in the Gulf of Aden which some boat onwers are paying up to $20,000 each time passing the area in insurance. Its hard to stop something like thsi from happening and i don't know if it will ever end.

Police are still for the killer of Catherine Solinski-Blain.She was found dead on October 15 when she was shot in car.Police are still searching for the killer.By looking at other blogs and hearing about more devestating news i can see that the world always isnt the best place. You hear all these stories of people dying and getting arrested to know that there will still be way more to come.Honestly there will still be some unstable person who will such a foolish act.So it shows that inventions of man like the gun arent always used to its real purpose. So no matter how hard the U.S. law system tries to get bad people off the street there will always be more bad getting put back on.

Another teen dies from crash injuries, headlines said yesterday. The driver was heading westbound on East Holly Road and drove over a patch of ice. The driver lost control and hit a tree. After hitting the tree the truck then flipped into a nearby pond on its roof. Both teens in the car did not have their seat belts on. This is why we where seat belts. Casey Lee Blays the second victim was taken off of life support and died on Tuesday at Genesys Health Park in Grand Blanc Township. it's a shame that these people had to die at all but even right before the holidays makes it even worse. I think we all need to be careful in this progressing winter season.

This article is about how they put up sollar pannels on top of mausoleums in Santa Coloma de Gramenet. At first the pepole though it was disrespectfull to put them on mausoleums in cemitaries. After they they had a public-awareness campaign the people were ok with it. these sollar pannels helped out alot. The 462 pannels can go to 60 homes for a yer.

Th current event that I found isn't technically current becasue it happened about three weeks ago. It its close to home though and has affected some of my friends. There were 3 people found murdered a few weeks back, a mother and her two children. The oldest kid was a freshman girl that went to walled lake western. A few of my friends go there and knew her so I've heard about this before. The police are pretty sure it was the father and were still investigating at the time the article was written. I don't understand why anyone would want to kill anyone, especially someone in their family. The world has some pretty messed up people in it.

Mr.kay,
On the cnn website I read an article on a piano that was found in the woods at the end of a dirt road. Wow, i really don't know how the police would respond to this. In the biggining of the article it was like, " was it a Prank, Or Joke, Or Theft?" Well, in my opinion I don't think it was either. First off I don't think it was a prank because i mean come on how many teenagers are like "Hey i dare you to leave this piano at the end of the road." We have better things to do(like blog). Second, I don't think it was a joke either. Because well it's not really funny... at all more like just weird. I personally think someone put it there because they were simply playing it. Just not in there house, in the woods. Maybe they wanted peace and quite, a place to relax and just let there creative side flow. Also in the article it said that it was in t une, and there was a bench in front of it like someone was going to play it. Thats what also lead me to the conclusion someone was actually using for true playing. But your guess as to why it's there is as good as mine. I guess if they really want to know answers they can finger print scan it!

My current event like really current happened today. Obama unvieling his econimic team. He also says he is combined with the Bush adminstation to help fix the economy. Obama says that "there isn't a minute to waste" when it comes to fixing the economy. I like how now that Bush is getting out of office he wants to start rebuilding the economy. Why didn't he do that when he was in office. I think hes just trying to go out with doing something really good for the U.S. instead of leaving us with a bunch of bad stuff. I also like how Obama isn't even presodent yet and he already has a plan to reconstruct this corrupt society.

I don't understand why they think this. This article kind of confused me I have no clue what a Hamas is. I think it might be what they call their people. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27890651/

A current event I found was online on "Yahoo News". It was of Obamas latest speech that he gave in Chicago. Obama is trying to get Congress to pass a job-creating stimulus bill. The flaw is that the bill will be very costly. I think that I need more information on it to give my answer but if I had to choose I would have to say yes right now. Our economy is doing so bad that I think just about anything will be an improvement. New jobs will defiantly help the econmy a lot though. I believe that people really need this.

Mr. Kay,
Today I read that the $25 billion buyout thing for the Big 3 fell through. Not only that but that Obama supported the rejection. So what happened was there is a buyout for the car industries in Michigan and they took it to congress, they rejected it, and Obama supported it.
I don't think this is a very good idea for Michigan because our economy already isn't doing very well. Also some might say that Obama doesn't really care about Michigan, but really, I think that it just means he thinks $25 billion is a bit steep. But this could affect me because, again my father works at Chrysler and if he loses his job, we'd be screwed pretty bad. We wouldn't have much money for our family if he Chrysler goes down. The importance of this is that not only will my dad be out of work, but many other families working at the big 3 automotive companies would be out a job. That means much less money coming into Michigander families. I really hope that some sort of idea or being comes through and give the Big 3 the boost they need for Michigan's sake.

Yikes, after briefly reading the first couple of blogs, I thought I would add a humorous story.Authorities in Harwich, Massachusetts found a piano randomly placed in the woods. It was discovered by a woman walking along a trail. It's model number 987, is intact -- and, apparently, in tune. That information right there, made me laugh. The bench was placed as if someone was about to play. However, a elaborate prank like this took more than one person. I think this is very important because it took a handful of police to carry the entire piano just into storage, that handful could have caught so many crimes that day, instead the day was to lift a piano. People need to think more about consequences, and how it effects EVERYONE in the end.

The citi bailout success gives hope for what all the other banks can do. The bill also guranteed $306 million in risky assests.

One new current event in the community is the young boy who is being accused of killing his dad. The dad that he loved and was always with. Many have been upraised on the way he has been treated. Somehow 8 bullets were fired and the gun ends up in the childs hands in the end. Why wouldnt they suspect him, but is it fully correct. The police are looking into this, and interrogating the child. But, can an 8 year old relaod a bolt actino rifle 8 times in this amount of time? Nobody will know until we get to the bottom of this. I thinkt that the importance of this piece is that, in our life children are faced with things at too young of ages. I dont think that an 8 year old should be able to access an open gun. Why werent they locked? So the importance of this is gun safety. This may be seen in our society, what happens when all people resort to guns to get food and money if there is a depressionn in our future?

The current event that I saw on the CNN news was about a boy killing his father. Apparently, the boy really loved his father and had a close bond with him. The article points out the idea of innocent until proven guilty. I agree with this idea and he should have the opportunity to not be charged. This headline blind sided me because I have never heard about it before. With the topic, however, the boy is facing two charges and the main one is murder. I don't understand what motive a kid could possibly have to cause him to kill his father. He and his dad seem to have had a good relationship. Personally, f the topic is of little significance. In my opinion, the kid should have more of a chance and not be viewed as the number one suspect.

something that is current in boxing is that Bernard Hopkins gave Kelly Pavlik a boxing lesson and a first loss that he will never forget. Hopkins, who dominated the middleweight class for a decade, made Pavlik the WBC and WBO middleweight champion look slow and powerless in fighting at 170 pounds, 10 pounds over his weight class. i think that this fight was one of his best fights yet. during the first round, Hopkins landed four or five straight punches, and then stepped back started winding up on his punches before delivering them. in the many fights that he has been in i think that he did very well. but in the next fight i think that he should try to use more power in his punches. i read this on fox news.

8 year old boy charged with killing his father. I chose this because the heading really caught my eye. As I read this article, it says that the boy had a good relationship with his father. His mother states "He did everything with his father, he loved his father." Later in the article it says that the boy denied any involvment in the shootings, but later said that he shot his father who was already wounded "because he was suffering." I can't imagine an 8 year old doing this at all. The article also says that the boy was scared to stay in a cell all by himself, but he was frequently visited by his mother. I dont know why the kid didnt just call 911 instead of shooting someone. Its common sense call emergency. Shooting him shouldn't even had been a thought for a kid that age. At first I thought that the kid shouldn't be the suspect but since he admitted in killing his father, I changed by idea.

A current event that caught my eye was Cincinnati house fire kills 3 children. The father of the children in this family was hospitalized, from jumping off the porch to get to the grounds before the spread of the fire. As for the mother she also escaped. You would think that a mother and father's first priority would be to get your children out of the house safe, before anything else. Even if there a level you, you take the risk for the one's that you love. Also, this fire was considered a "blaze" it took 50 fire fighters, to tackle this one. The fire fighters fought long and hard to take it down. As for the three young girls, they were lost in the fire. The ages of these youngsters were found to be 2, 5 and 9. It's sad knowing that they were still very young, and the didn't get to live there life. It really makes you think twice about everything, and what kind of parent you want to be. Now the cause of this fire is still a mystery.

One current event that I thought was interesting was the stock that jumped after the government bailout of Citigroup. The wallstreet was higher Monday for the second straight session, this time in a releif rally over the government's plan to bail out Citigroup inc. I chose this paticular article because, I think it is very intersesting that finally, the Wallstreet is improving and increasing by every week. Maybe the bailout is helping our country after all? It said that the Dow Jones industrials increased nearly 400 points and major indexes all jumped more than 4.5 percent. The market has had its first two-day advance since October 30-31. In my opinion, this is absolutly great for the U.S, because we havent had the best economy, and with the Wallstreet doing so bad and all, so we needed this boost in the Wallstreet. Oh, and I got this information from the Oakland Press.

You know how most people say that napping is unhealthy for you. Most people say that it disrupts your sleeping pattern, but it's been proved that it may help you in school or work. Napping helps you see the big picture of things and may help your memory. It has also been proven that if you study just before you go to sleep, your brain proccesses all of what you just reveiwed thus helping you remember what you just viewed. For most this wouldn't seem to be "news", but for a high schooler this is a huge help and I'm thankful I've learned this. I have a test in some classes tomorrow, so not only have I taken a nap today, but I am going to put off studying for them until I go to sleep. This not only important to know for teenagers trying to get through high school, but for older people it may just help them to make their careers in any feild more efficient.

Mr. Kay,

The current event I have picked is on how a fatal shooting in Lathrup Village killed a women. At about 10:45 p.m. Oct. 15, Solinski-Blain was getting in her car to drive home from work. Whent he car started to drive away, an unknown person pulled a gun and shoot her through the head. She later died at a local hospital. The resturant where Solinski-Blain worked, put out for a donationfor her family. The resturant raised over $5,000 from in-store donations, the resturant stoped asking for donations, but the citizens of Lathrup Village keep donating $5 to $10. This current event really shows you how cruel people really are. This person really needs to be behind bars, Solinski-Blaine had a husband and a baby on the way. This person needs to be stopped. I got this current event in The Okland Press today.

The boy is in a juvinille detention center , the mother of the boy said she didn't want any of the older juvinilles to influence him in a bad way so he is all alone in his cell. His mother will be allowed 48 hrs with him over thanksgiving and she wants to keep it as normal as possible. I think it would be tough as his mother to have this be happening. One big current event is what the DOW stock has done in the past two days. First of all it is the best 2-day increase of the stock since 1987, which was over 20 years ago. Also, it was big because nothing has been doing really that good recently. Plus other stocks like NAS did excellent today because of the DOW doing good. In addition, Dow Jones said this is the biggest two season gain ever. Another thing is this might be a start of things doing better in todays economy but who really knows. Last hopefully it stay up doing good and when Obama takes office he won't have to worry about that as much.

In the article I read about, President Bush issued 14 pardons and 2 commute sentences. I think this shows the balance in our government system. I like how no one branch is all-powerful. They all check and balance eachother. President Bush is balancing out the Judicial branch by have the right to issue things such as pardons and commutions. I find it fascinating how he could pick out so few though out of over about 2,000 cases. The cases were all so different too, having to deal with a spectrum of drugs, to taxes, to plant fertilizers. I don't know how I would pick out only so few to pardon or lower their jail term. Although President Bush only has a little bit longer left in his presidency, he still continues to act on his role and his responsiblilities that come with it.

The currents even i chose for this week is the crime rate in New Orleans. New Orleans was ranked the most violent city in the U.S. in 2007. I found it very disturbing that New Orleans murder rate was 94.7 per 100,000 people. Compared to the U.S. national murder rate of 5.6 per 100,000. i think this is an important topic because New Orleans still needs aids. Because the epidemic is no longer getting the attention it needs less people are caring. there is still a lot of rebuilding needed to help New Orleans start a new.

Today President Bush added 17 more people to his pardon list. That adds his total up to 171. Most of the people on the list are pardoned for some serious things. Like drug trafficking and use, also for helping cover up a crime. Why out of all people our president let these kind of people go. He also has people on there for a few difrent types of fraud also cocaine. There also a few people on there for stealing goverment property. I think thats crazy why should these type of people be let go they should stay where they are in jail. I think its important becuase people that negativly effect us are being let free. Today on the front page of the Oakland Press it reads, "Murder probe continues". Catherine Solinski-Blain was shot October 15 outside a restaurant in her car. She was 21 and married to Marc Blain. She died later at a local hospital. The case is of top priority for the Lathrup Village police because the killer has not been found. The police say they have no leads to whom have may killed Solinski-Blain. This is of importance to us individually because it happened in Waterford and we always should be careful about where we are at and if we are alone. We also need to consider that we don't know how much time we have so we should live life to the fullest. As for my personal opinion, I think that Solinski-Blain's death is a tragedy. Its difficult to read about any one who dies, especially people who are so young like Catherine.

The current event that i found intersting was from:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/cb_haiti_food_crisis;_ylt=AvwcFucKL6ELt39AXy5n2cys0NUE

topics like these are very i would think they would be extreamly important, these articals show us how much a jerks people are and how selfes we can be. To many people only care about them selfs. Its getting way out of hand. All thorought out the world we have people dying like chrilden. We even hardley even do anything to try to help and save these poor kids. There are so many kids dying all over the world. I think if everyone just tryed a little just to save these innisoent kids then i think our world would be a little bit better. i think we can stop all this. I dont really think its far for all these kids we all live a good life so why cant they?

Since I don't get out much or know anything at all about the world outside, I can't really say that I know anything. Everyone has something better than I do, only because they actually have cable or Comcast. (-_-);

I was wondering if anyone liked the article I found on that Quiznos Coyote from ABC? I thought it was adorable, but then again, that's just me.

I don't know why, but the news doesn't really interest me anymore. I used to look through it at least twice a week, but now everything seems like, well, 'old news'.

I hope somebody will forgive me for my behavior last week. I wasn't in one of my best moods at that time. I regret a lot of the things I say and do.

Americans Drive Less, Creating a Problem Less Consumption Means Lower Gas Prices, Will We Go From 'Shock to Trance' Again?By JOSEPH B. WHITE

this article was about the gas price changes and how they are affecting the whole country. when the prices of gasoline went up, prices at gas stations went up. since prices were so high people couldn't buy as much gas with the poor econmic condidtion we are facing. if people aren't buying gas that means that they aren't driving. this made conditions worse because people weren't spending money on gas and new cars. Obama was quoted in this article that we need to change how we adjust prices. i think that is good because something needs to be done before a depression happens all over again.

After searching through newspaper and internet, on the home page of comcast i read up on the situation of GM ending the endorsement deals with Tiger Woods. As many know and if not Tiger woods had money endorsements with Buick or GM. With the economythese days and the money shortages that GM is currently going threw it is hard for them to support tiger. Not only with the money signings but his current knee surgery. Tiger also desired more personal time. The reason for this request is for his upcoming baby that is due shortly. Personlly i do see GM and tiger unsigning soon but of course i also see tiger playing his heart out in any upcoming tournements and making all the normal income.

I got my article for the current event on yahoo search. The article discusses how Obama plans on lowering taxes for poorer, more middle-class citizens. Instead Obama wants to raise taxes for the more rich and wealthy. This is only fair because our economy is down the drain, and its a way to fix it. People pay the most they can pay for the economy, without running themselves out of thier homes. He also is devising a plan that would create or preserve 2.5 million jobs over two years. Now more americans can get thier jobs back and start thier financial ruins over. Obama is the answer to fixing our economy and our government and this article recognizes that.

I think a good current event still going on is hurricane katrina loses. I was reading about how 846 million dollars has not reached Katrina victims. Most victims are business owners and need this money to fix there businesses this long ago. This money was raised for these victims and is just sitting there collecting dust. I think this situation needs to change. These people still need help. I would be pissed if I was promised money for my loses and nothing came. I just hope they get it soon so they can return to a normal life. (found on MSN website under news)

US couple sue over McNudes
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/11/24/mcdonalds_phone/

Ahahah. Some chick sent nudes 2 her "hubby" hahah. I guess the dude left his phone at McDonald's, and the people who worked there where like "oh we will hold on to it for you until you pick it up! :D" and he was all like wooh. But then the girl sent the nudes not knowing that the phone was at McDonald's and I guess the workers where like "ahahah" and put them online, along with her name address and phone number. I guess she got offensive calls and texts about the pictures. She is suing for 3 million dollars. Bahahah. I personally fin this the couple's fault, I mean yeah I guess the workers shouldn't have done that or whatever but dude seriously, if you want him 2 see you nude so bad just wait to do it at home or something. I think she is learning her lesson ahahahahah.

A current event that I found is happened in the NBA. Manu Ginobli from the San Antonio spurs was suppose to play in his first game of the season. Ginobli has been out ever since his Argentina team played the U.S. in the Beijing olympics. He injured his left ankle and had to have surgery, this devistated all spurs fans. The spurs have been stuggling because their all-star guard tony parker has also been out with an ankle injury. Manu has been the spurs leading scorer since last season. Tonight though he is probably looking at only playing 10 to 15 minutes. Manu says "it’s now just a matter of getting my wind back, my conditioning and feel for the game.” Hopefully he can finish the rest of the season strong and get his team back to the playoffs.

p.s. pistons suck

Apple Inc. is the target of a lawsuit. The suit alleges that the technology the iPhone uses to navigate and display some websites designed for small phone screens infringes on a patent obtained last month by Gottfurcht and his co-inventors and assigned to their company. I think that Gottfurcht and his colleagues may have made a similar technology to what Apple created. Since the patent was just filed last month and the iPhone has been out for 15 months it seems unlikely that it is the same technology. Since the complainant’s attorney recently won a $570 million dollar lawsuit, it appears that his may just be somebody trying to get money from Apple Inc. It is also fishy that they have not targeted any other companies that display mobile websites. I am willing to bet that this is a lawsuit where the complaintant is just trying to get some money from a big corporation.
The source of my topic was from Comcast news or http://www.comcast.net/articles/newsfinance/20081124/BUSINESS-US-APPLE-LAWSUIT/.

Out of all the people he had killed 5 of them were children. I would also have to say if i was judge of this case i would sentice hame to live in jail or prosicution asap. this just goes to show how fucked up our world is today.

this ones going to be huge.
first off: the source: http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_marr.htm

my article will be about gay rights, and why it should be allowed.

Bullet number 3 states: "This is to let you know that SSM is an abomination in the sight of God and his word says that to agree with sinful evil people is being a partaker of other men's sins therefore the same punishment will be applied. The nation or people that commit abominations will be sent a curse that consists of God sending your enemies upon you and they will kill your sons and daughters, your enemies will eat up all your profits and get rich because of your sinfulness, God will send hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, Fire, Famine, and disease. If this will not turn your heart he will then sent a curse seven times worse until you are utterly destroyed. This is to let you know because many are being destroyed even now this curse has been in effect for a while and God wants sinners to to know why these things are coming upon them. He wants to give all men the opportunity to repent and be saved. These things will increase on the nations and people that war with him and they will know the wrath of the Lamb, for he will break them to pieces like a piece of pottery cast upon a rock, his fire will purge and clean every evil from the face of the earth and many shall flee to caves and hide from his presence crying out for the rocks to fall on them."

now, in a simplified manner, this paragraph just states how being gay is an "abomination". but in bullet number 3, it states:

"Because marriage is a basic human right and an individual personal choice, RESOLVED, the State should not interfere with same-gender couples who choose to marry and share fully an equally in the rights, responsibilities, and commitment of civil marriage." The Marriage Resolution, by the Marriage Project of Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund. 3

this paragraph here states a lot of what i believe of same-sex marriage. I believe the state should not have a choice over wether couples should be married. i believe this should be a federal matter, and as a country, it should collectively be decided. wether it be a yes or no. I am for people having a life long bond with another person, wether they are homosexual or not.

If as a country, we decide yes, we will live up to our free country status, and as well, people may come flocking here to get married, which equals big business. but FUCK the money, which has ruined so many lives, and which i will talk about later in this article. anyways, we will be a nation of freedom, where people can come and be who they want to be, and that is what america is for. we are for everyone being as unique as they choose to be, but not "the way god created them" cause then that causes a big frustration of, "well how could god make them homosexual, wait oh my, they aren't made by god, OMFG THEY ARE A SPAN OF SATAN..." is what i would most likely hear, if this were to happen.

this is not a cited source, but this was brought upon me by my sister only yesterday. literally, the only thing standing between the federal government and same-sex marriage is the benefits of the money. like if your husband dies, the wife does get the money, but if your husband dies, the other "husband" doesn't get the money. i swear to the god above, money has corrupted more people than religion has. because not everyone has to believe in god to be a greedy bastard.

i will leave it off on a speechless note. i seriously hope all of these politicians pull their head out of their asses, because we need to live up to being a free country, and if we do not, we could end up no better than an all hating dictatorship. because all of these people who want to spend their lives together, are being rejected by greedy assholes who have so much else to do, but instead they like to debate about it being un-godly.

WE DO NOT HAVE A DOMINANT RELIGION IN THIS COUNTRY, AND I HOPE WE NEVER DO!

these people want to impose their life thoughts upon the country, and that will not happen. if it means i must go and make this a fre country myself, than so be it. i will make us the fre nation we all so desperately need to be.

A new current event that I picked out from cnn.com is about how home prices in record are decline. The S&P case-shiller home prices index recorded a 16.6 percent decline in the thrid quarter compared with the same period a year ago. It eclipsed the previous record set during the second quarter of 15.1 percent. The prices in the case-shiller's seperate the index of 10 major cities fell a record of 18.6 percent, and its 20 city index dropped a record of 17.4 percent. In June 2006 the 10 city index was 23.4 percent off its peak price. In the 10 city index home prices had fallen for 26 months. I feel bad for the people who are losing there homes because of the falling market.
