Day 11
It is funny that I really do miss being in the classroom on days when I am out. I really enjoyed and was honored to be at Challenge Day today. It always amazes me the great students we have at Lakeland High School. Yet, we have a ways to go to make our school comfortable for everyone. What do you value about our school? What are things that you think Lakeland does well? What are areas where it could improve? Lastly, what could you do to promote positive values within the school?

I like how our school has enough books for everyone. I like how we actually have teachers and that we have a great football team. I think Lakeland is good at preparing you for college. Our school does well at setting up major events, like taste fest or the pistons assembly from last year. I think our school needs to improve on getting new copiers. They're always broken. I could encourage people to do well in the class room so they can graduate. I would ask them to show some school spirit and go to a friday night football game. (maybe Tennis) =P

Things that i value about our school is that we have nice teacher, and they all try to help us improve. I think that our school have very good sport programs, and after school activites. I also like how we all can each have our own books. Things that our school could imporve on i would have to say is probally giving us more times in the hallways, and having all teachers explain more while teaching. Also we should get homework everyday, There should only be a specfic days that we get homework for certian classes. Positive valuse within the school i think that we could hang up more signs in the hall ways, and have more pep-ralleys.
I don't really value the school, since I'm not comfortable in an enviroment that ridicules me for my intrests, or puts me down for not being able to calculate in my head.
I think it should improve in the areas of safety, so that bullying won't become the student's past-time. Also to not punish EVERY student for an individual's behavior, because it is a cruel punishment to have the innocent pay for the tainted's wrongdoings.
I reccomend smoke detectors around the school, especially in all bathrooms, in the enclosed staircases, and in unused hallways, since the smell of smoke billows from each of these areas.
I could try to help other students treat the equipment and school with respect, since they aren't theirs, but no one listens to the 'retard with the tail'. I won't have any effect against them.
And if you want the students to behave, just ignore them. Everything they do is a pitiful cry for attention, so don't give them what they want.

I value in Lakeland some great teachers.I always have great teachers who look out for me and whats in my best interest.We also have great facilities such as the new gym and pool.I think Lakeland does well in almost everything from sports to grades.It may need to improve in bullying I know there is a lot of it except just about every school does.Also food lakeland has terrible food stuffed with grease.I know we are on a budget here but we could at least try to get something thats good and not so unhealthy.To promote posistive values I have no clue how to answer this.Maybe I could try to promote atleast trying in some classes ive known some people that just sit there all hour and dont do a thing.They will be the ones un-employed when older.
I value many things about our school but the main thing got to be all the fun i have at it. Also i value all the great teachers and a nice building. Lakeland is fairly good at sports and just all around good school. Lakeland also is good when it comes to geting the job done. Not ever school is prefect and Lakeland is no excaption. Our school needs to imporve in treating others and doing whats right. I can promote positive values by standing up when people are doing wroung.

The biggest thing that I value about our school, is how almost all my friends go to LakeLand. I think that Lakeland has really great teachers, I really like the way our school is built to. I think that lakeland could give us at least three more minutes between lunches because most of the people that have A lunch have to run to there locker right after lunch. And some peoples lockers are at the other end of the school. I could promote positive values within the school by spreading the news about after school programs or sports.

I think Lakeland is doing a good job of keeping the students comfortable, in my opinion. I value the choice of teachers they have hired because most of them have helped me become a better student in each of their classes. I also value the vast amount of extrcurricular activites and events that go on at our school. Of course, all school are going to have bulling and fights, but I think Lakeland is handling those things pretty well also. As for things Lakeland could improve, the supplies for the classrooms are really limited and the smoking in the bathrooms got bad last year. To promote positive values in the school I can incourage my fellow classmates and help them if I can. All in all Lakeland has done a lot of good things to make our school a better school, and I think it can only get better as time goes on.

In my opinion i think lakeland is doing an okay job at keeping all the kids comfortable. I value lunch time, our school is doing a great job at keeping us healthy. Well, they need to work on that a bit because we still have fattning foods like frys and such. I value having all our cool assemblys, and having seminar, i benefit from both. Lakeland needs to improve by: letting us use our phones, having longer lunch periods, hehe...just kidding. I think they need to improve by having more supplies in the class, some kids cannot afford the supplies. In time though lakeland will get better, and better!

I value Lakelands staff, i feel that the school is ran very well. I also appreciate the leadership classes because they contribute to dances and assemblies ect. I think the leadership classes really help to make things more enjoyable. I think Lakeland does need to work on its temperature. I'm either freezing or sweating, it's hard to find a nice medium. To promote positive values with in the school, i show Lakeland spirit. I get dressed up in blue and white and cheer for our athletics. I am very thankful to attend Lakeland.

For the most part I think our school is good. There is a lot of great teachers. Most of the teachers do a good job teaching but there are a handful that could improve. Lakeland also prepares you for college and gets you ready for what the real world is like. Bullying has always been a problem but i can't name one school i know that doesn't have a bully problem. One thing i don't like about the new school year is how strict it has become for people being in the hallways and using cell phones. To promote values within the school i could encourage others to try harder and I could tell kids to not damage school supplies and equipment.

In my opinion, I think that Lakeland is doing an ok job at keeping the students comfortable. The thing that I value most about our school is the staff. They work so hard at teaching us everyday, and I think they do a pretty good job at doing that. Lakeland does a good job of letting kids show their personality's , for example, having spirit week every year, and providing a leadership class. Another thing that I value is the seminar classes, and the lunch periods. One thing they need to improve on is letting kids use their cell phones more than just at lunch. Lastly not to have such a strict dress code. But other than that, Lakeland is doing a pretty good job, and is just going to keep getting better and better!

For the most part I like Lakeland High School. It is a place where I go to educate myself and have fun. Things that Lakeland does well is making everyone comfortable and the staff is great. If theres one thing we could improve on is to stop making fun of people. We all see it going on but do nothing about it. We could promote positive values by having a class on bullying. Also, if people see people taking stands the word will get out.

I value the respect that the teachers show to their students. Also how we can come to them with our problems and they will try and help us the best they can. I think Lakeland does lots of things very well. One of them being they always have paper if we need it. Another one being that they really help us prepar us to go on in our life after we leave Lakeland. The main area i think the school could improve in is the dissapline. I think that this year they are being to strict on the students. Lastly, I could promote good values by being a good student.

I value that our schools quality of teaching. I think that lakeland does provide help with school work. It could have less homework as an area it could change. I could provide the school with no negative attitude.
I value many things at our school. One of which is the staff. Even though some teachers aren't the best I think a majority of the staff is cool and do a good job. Also, I value the sport teams. By that I mean almost all of our sports are doing good and putting a good reputation on us. I think lakelnad could improve on getting books that are in good shape. Also, I think we should have more vending machines and no pop just water, gatorade, propel, ect. I could promote going to more sport games to cheer on the teams that are doing good. Also, have more teacher appreciation days or staff days because they are the ones that run the school and do a pretty good job of it.
I value many things about our school. The thing that I value the most is probably the teachers. Every teacher tries to make the class fun. They try their best make everyone comfortable. Another thing I value is the fact that we have resources for everyone. That includes computers, book, after school help, among others. I think the school also needs to improve in some areas. First off, they need to give us another couple minutes for passing time. Not everyone one has time to go to the bathroom, go to their locker, say hi to friends as they pass, and get to their class on the other side of the school in six minutes (or however long we have). Positive values can be promoted simply by putting u sign in hallways, showing school spirit by wearing Lakeland colors, and even having more assemblies.

I value that our school has encouraging teahcers, most of the proper tools needed to learn (i.e. books), and a lot of different activities to get involved in. Lakeland does well at having sports/clubs for everyone to try and allowing us to start any clubs we want. Lakeland also does well at keeping resources online up to date. I think Lakeland could improve on school spirit because a lot of people don't wear our colors on fridays. I believe Lakeland could improve on the drug issue too. I walk past bathrooms and smell smoke all the time but not many people get caught. Yes, we do have random drug searches, but that only catches a few kids, so it is not completely effective. I could promote positive values within the school by trying to get kids to go to the football games on fridays. Also, I could try to get more people aware of other sports and activities, like plays or concerts, that people can go to and support the work of other students in our school.

I value lots of things about Lakeland like the different kinds of people, teachers, family access, and all the different kinds of extracurricular activities. I really like having classes with my friends and the way some of the teachers teach things by accomidating for all different learning styles. But some teachers could do better on that. Also to improve, we could be given more passing time. It takes me just about 6 minutes to walk all the way across the school and that doesn't allow for time to use the bathroom and we're really not allowed to use it during class. Overall, Lakeland is a really great school and I love it. People should show their school spirit and come to the games.
lakeland has a wide variety of students. i value how well we do in sports and fot the most part how our students act. lakeland does well in most all of our extra curricular activities amd has created a good name for our school. some areas we could improve on would be bullying and some of our rules. like i think we should be able to have coffee drinks other than water. every time i buy a coffee in the morning i have to pitch it. to promote positive values in our school you could start a club or hang up flyers in the halls.

One thing that I think Lakeland does well is givingeveryone the opportunity to do well. They give everyone the resources to succeed, its just up to us students to make it happen. One thing that I thinkl LAkeland can improve in is our school spirit. We always have a lot of people at our athletci events, but I think that the way we cheer is more limited than other schools like Milford. We cannot cheer all out like most of us want to do but are afraid that we will get punished because of our school spirit.

I value many things about our school. I really like how Lakeland prepares you for your future ahead. I also like how kids are available to show their individuality and not have to wear uniforms. I believe that the teachers do a great job at helping us. However sometimes Lakeland can get out of control. Sometimes there is too much horseplay in the classrooms. I also think that cliques sometimes exclude of make fun of other kids which needs to stop. I think many kids do promote positive values within our school and I try to help too. I can promote positive values by encouraging other kids and getting involved with our school.

What I value about my school is lunch. Not so much the food but it's the only time of the day that you can just hang out. I think that Lakeland sets up some pretty cool assemblies. I think the school could improve in some area such as. Letting us use our phones on test. Get better food in the lunch room. I could ask people to show more school sprit at football games.

No guys I am not gonna write something funny like last time so STOP FREAKING ASKING ME ABOUT IT!
Lakeland high school's value is yet to be determined by me, the teachers are nice, no graffiti, and lastly many clubs. I do think however, that holiday spirit could be better, I was one of the few who dressed for Halloween last year, I don't get that, the value of free stuff will never lose it's luster...however I might just be addicted to material possession. Some book are new, some old, but seriously some need to be replaced! I'm happy we all have books, but I dislike the feeling of a loose binding. The copier, keep it, "I was going to give you a quiz today but the copier's busted again. (hah!) I do wish that we had more intellectually stimulating after school activities (Go, world of warcraft, witch both are thinking games,) I think security could be tighter, camera's at every corner just to be safe and a sigh out sheet on equipment for damages paid. I'm not quite sure how to promote values, meh I'll think of something but alas, no one listens to the nerd, Especially in the horror movies when the nerd dies last.

I value my safety here at Lakeland High School. Every day I can go to school and know that I will be safe. This helps me focus on more things like school work. I also feel that are schools athletic programs are great. Lakeland picks out good coaches that teach the students as well as push them to achieve there own and the teams goals. However I really think are school spirt needs to become greater. Especially during basketball season. Normally the crowds were weak and the team suffered because of it.

I value our school for the teachers who care and try to help. I think that when teachers work with you to improve your grade or help you understand you will do better. Also our school has different things you can be apart of. I think something we need to improve on is giving us atleast one extra minute in the halls. First, its glad to hear you went to challenge day today mr, kay. i went yesterday, and i know the change in me. i hope you had a great time there. i know i did.
I value all of the nice things we have in our schools. the nice desks, classes, classrooms, academic opportunity to do what you want, and most of all, i value you teachers so much. obviously, because without you, it wouldn't be possible. i also value you teachers and adults that work there, because its nice to know i can come and talk to nearly any one of you. i value that a lot. i think lakeland does well in keeping students educated, and mostly having a good time in classes. Now i completely agree that we have a long ways to go before we make our school open to everyone. i think that we need better security in our school about what kids bring into school. I know a lot of kids are like, why would we need to get randomly drug tested? Well, i agree to the fact that, if you have nothing to hide, what your problem? I also agree that if you want to have this nice education, you should be in a well centered stated of mind. I think it is an agreeable thing to do, considering that you are here to learn and to pay attention anyways. I will promote values, by helping those that i can, when i can. I will be a positive influence wherever i am in the school, and i will definitely set a good example for those who it should concern, to follow. I will be the north star for those who wish to do what is right for themselves and others to follow.

i value the pride we have in our school. a lot of students support our athletic teams and go to their games. we are proud to be eagles. i think Lakeland does well as being one whole family. i always feel comfortable at lakeland and with the people in it. preper allys are always fun and very spirited. we could improve on helping out kids more that need help with a certain proplem in their life. to promote positive value i could just be a nice person.
What I value about our school is that it seems like all of the teachers care about the students. Even the teachers that seem hard they still want to help you, they don't just want you to fail. Also I value the basketball team. Some school hire a coach that knows nothing, but the coach at lakeland is very good, and he knows a lot. What I think Lakeland does well is they have after school activities for just about everyone. The school isn't only surrounded around one group of people. The areas that Lakeland could approve on is not try to control people to much. The school lockes the bathrooms because people smoke in them. The kids are gonna smoke anyways, you can't stop it but that doesn't mean you should punish everyone. What I could do to promote positive values is I could treat everyone nicely and not discriminate.

I think that our school is a great learning environment. I enjoy being at lakeland highschool. I think that lakeland does a good job of making everyone feel welcome. When a new kid enters the school, they are immediately surrounded by students and staff trying to help. I think that lakeland could improve on the way that people come to some classes late, and the amount of drugs and alcohol that are there. I think that lakeland could do a better job of showing more school spirit and attending more athletic events besides football games. Overall i enjoy lakeland and think its a good school.

What I value about Lakeland is that they have teachers who are willing to help out. Some teachers seem to really like their job. Many teachers want to help you get good grades. Somethings that Lakeland does well is that they have athletics, and activities. Also, they do a nice job at keeping the school clean. Somethings that it can improve on is having students treat others with respect. One positive value that I would promote is being nice to people and respecting the teachers.

I value the teachers most about our school. They seem really interested in teaching and the kids. I also am glad that we have enough supplies for each student. I am also glad that we have a lot of sports to pick from and do.I think the school spirit could improve for the under class sports, like JV and Freshman and not only for Varsity. Go around and talk to everyone about Thursday night football games. I would also talk about our other teams, like soccer team and tennis. Try to get the kids to go to those games as well.

What i value about our school. I mostly value the teachers for th hard work for teaching us how to be sucessful. Also lakeland is good at providing a good work enviroment. We also have enough days to make up work that we missed. the thing i think lakeland could improve on is giving us more time to get from class to class 7 minutes isnt really enough time. Also i think they should mix are classes up instead from going hour by hour have different hours. But lakeland has gotten so much better and will get better soon.

What i value about our school is that it's always adding new things. Like sports and clubs that they have. I think Lakeland does well in being fair with the rules that we have. Including being able to have ipods as long as the teacher allows it. I think they could improve how on their technology. Some of the computers are extremely slow. I would try to get people to go to some of the games that we have. Either in footbll, tennis, soccer, or track/cross country.

What I value from my school is that I am getting a good education from it. Also it is a place where I get to see and talk to my freinds. It is also a good place to make new friends. The things that lakeland does well, is that you get a good education. Also it is a pretty safe school. We don;t have to have medal detectors for knifes or any thing. Also I think that it is pretty cool how we have a water park in our school. Lakeland can can be a less harsh on the rules. I know that is better for us, so we don't do ot again. But sometimes lakeland can be to harsh on punishment. Also they should give a few more minutes between passing time. Ways I could help promote positive values within the school is I could help them with work so they do better and show some school spirit.

I value the friendly teachers at Lakeland, and my friends. The teachers seem like they know what their doing, and will benefit you if you do what they tell you too. I think enforcing school rules is something Lakeland does well. Even though most of us hate when teachers tell us to give them their hat, or hand them their cell phones, the staff is all over the rules. An area to improve in is sanitation. I always see trash everywhere and no one bothers to pick it up. Something I could do to support positive values is, treat everyone with respect, and just not get into trouble.
At Lakeland I value that fact that they give us seminer. It is a really big help. I think that we can improve the arts program. At Lakeland we spend too much money on our football team. I think that if we spend the money equally then I think that it will be fair. Becaues spending all the moneyis spent in one place. Then something might get cut.

I value the fact that the teachers care. They want us to pass and try. They also want us to make an effort and have fun. I think Lakeland provides many differet activities to help you get involved. It also has many clubs. I dont think lakeland could improve. It is a great school and it has a safe learning enviroment. I could try to influence people to not do drugs. Or i could help people to get involved.

One thing that I value about Lakeland high school is there's always enough activities for everyone to get involved with. Also, the teachers are preparing you for what the professors are going to expect in college. What our school needs to improve on is the rules. For example the hallway sweeps I think that is a bad idea. Not every kid that is in the hallway after the bell rings is skipping. Everyone is late at least one, they shouldn't get swept away because of it. All around Lakeland is an okay school, it can be good at times and other I feel like I just wanna leave. But what can you do?

I value how our school has a lot of school spirt. Pretty much everyone goes to the football games. It's something we all have in common. Lakeland has something for everyone. Either a sport, club, or after school activity. I think that Lakeland needs to find a way to teach for everyone. Some of the methods teachers use to teach don't get through to everyone. We can permote positive values by including everyone and welcoming new students.

the main thing that i value about school is that it is thing that you need to get a good job and live a good life. some things that lakeland does well is keep the rules in order. the thing that school does the best at pointing fingers at people befor getting the truth the jump to conclusion. not to talk about my personal life. another thing that lakeland is good at is the athletic progarm.
i think that mr. parrot and miss mcmuren should look in to a situation more before jummping to conclusions first. for example mr. parrot told me to clean the breakfast table becaus it was a mess and i did not make it. he told me that if i dont clean it up i could not go back there any more. another thing that would make the school better is lowering the price of food at the foot ball games.
I value that we have great teachers, that actually care about our edcuation. Also that there is enough book and everything for everyone. Some things i think lakeland does well is keeping the environment clean. Getting things done. An Area where i think Lakeland could improve is the kids behavior. I Know that they cant control how kids act but they could try to do a little more to help. I could encourage people to try, do work and not just mess around all the time.

Some things I value about lakeland would be the school itself. The building used to look like a dump a wile back. Im glad that they added on the new aditions and made it actualy look like a nice place to be. I also value the teachers in lakeland. Most teachers are willng to help us with school and will make sure we pass our class. one think lakeland does well would b there sports events and assemblys. One thing I think our school could do better at is keeping students supplied with newer books and class suplies. Most books are very old and literaly fall apart when you pick them up. One thing I can encourage would be school spirit. Keeping people excited with our school will help them get better grades and have more fun.

Lakeland high school carries very many values. Values such as good students, athletes, and one of the biggest things is great teaching program. Yes, Lakeland school does make a good amount of income as well to put forth to books in the library and text books as well as computers, technology and so on. These are all pluses, and i could keep going but as well as other schools there is improvment room. Improvement such as more mature and nice behavior all around the classes and in the hallway of the school. Another big thing that could be added to our school is positive value promoting. Such as easy things done personaly which is just simple bevavior changes, and setting examples for the rest of the school. There are also many other ideas such as just promoting it through banners and signs hung up through the hallways.

The thing i value about school is that it gets me ready for what lies ahead in the real word. Some things that i like about lakeland are that you can wear your own clothes and that there is a lot of extra activities you can do after school. I like being able to get out of the class room and then going and playing a sport with my friends. I think lakland can improve in a couple ways. One would be having less restrictions. Another would be making classes more fun. I would do this by having more assemblies. This way people can get intrested in school more often. Then more kids would come to school beacuse it would be fun but still educational.

All of these new rules are a bit of overkill in my opinon. Also people could promote postive values by being friendly. What would be wrong with that? I promote positive values by being nice to people and helping other people when they need it.

What I really value about lakeland is the people. Not saying everyone here is super freindly but I think in genral we are a good school when it comes to acceptence. We do have are faults though and I think we could improve in giving more attention to every sport here at the school. At Lakeland High School, there's not a ton of things that I'm psyched on. If there is something I like, it is the environment. The classrooms are always clean and fairly big. They are never cramped and we usually get the tools to learn. I think they have to fix somethings or add things. Some of the after school programs are ridiculous and I am suprised people go to them, but they're are plenty better things the school can do with they're money instead of investing in some of the things they do. The rules are also really strict. We get 6 minutes to get to class and go to the bathroom(because they don't let us go that much during class) and if you don't make it your locked out of your class. To promote positive values, I could understand them better. I can see where there coming from with things they do. I could also promote the school by going to school events and such.

I think that Lakeland does a nice job of making everyone feel comfortable. I think they promote tons of school activties. For every different kind of hobby. They promote dances well and and always try to get everyone involved. To be honest I dont think they have much to work on. They promote things well and depending on the person they either like it or not. I really think they have done their best with promoting positive values. All they can do is promote activities and hope they get response.

In Lakeland, i value the teachers, of course. They come here day after day to put up with us and give us a chance to live a better life in the future. I think Lakeland does a pretty good job of keeping the school in shape. Everythings clean! Aside from that, i dont know. I come to school, do what i gotta do, and then sleep. What i do to promote positive calues within the school is to simply promote nothing at all. Values and lifestyles shouldent be forced from one person onto another.
