We have been going over compound sentences, complex, simple sentences and complex sentences. For this evening, I want you to write me a very short story (of at least 12 sentences but more if need be) using at least 2 simple sentences, 4 compound sentences, 2 compound-complex, and 4 complex sentences. Label each sentence for the type so that I can see that you are using them correctly.
The topic is up to you so have some fun if you want. If you were absent on Tuesday, this is one of the problems with missing school. I guess, if you want the points for today, you can research these sentence types so you have an understanding and thus write your story.

Yesterday I went shopping with my Mom, we bought the full new line from Max Azria (CD). When we first saw it my Mom said "Absolutely not...", but she ended up giving in (CX). When we walked into BCBG Max Azria, my heart stopped (S). All of the store's racks were filled, All the store's cabinets were lined, and then there was me(CD/CX). I stood in the middle of the floor, among all the art, and marveled at it's wonder (CX). I ran up to the newest rack, looked at all of the clothes and smiled (CD). Whenever we go shopping, my mom tries to distance herself from me (CX). She thinks I'm a freak when we shop, She says that I get too into it (CD). What does she know? (S). She's the weird one, She likes to bargain shop (CX). When she shops, She goes to thrift stores and rummages on the racks, and if she finds something that's pretty cheap she'll still ask the cashier for a discount (CD/CX). What a cheap-o, who wants to wear old ratty clothes that have already been worn, now thats just gross (CD/CX).
Today was perfect, today was carefree. With little homework and volleyball practice soon to come, it seemed as though almost nothing could bring me down.(CD-CX) 2:45 was the time of my arrival, just another day it seemed.(CX) Following my usual routine i head upstairs, wrap my hair into a delicate ponytail and skip towards the awaiting computer. Just because i'm in a good mood i turn the music up, swaying to the beat throughout.(CX) Everything is perfect and now all thats left to do is Mr. Kay's daily blog, easy enough i assume.(CD-CX) As i read the assignment, my heart flutters rapidly.(CX) The walls are spinning and my heartbeat can surely be heard through the next room; 10 feet away.(CD-CX) I swear the world has stopped spinning but i dont know what to do.(CD) I thought today was just another ordinary day, and 12 sentences is most definitley out of the ordinary.(CD) 12 whole sentences?(S) Ontop of a grammatical rubric to follow? Now ill show you social injustice.(S) I dont fall for the "preparing me for the future and raising your expectations" speech. Excessive homework is a teachers way of claiming their power, and holding all students at their mercy.(CD)
The music has stopped and i dutifully obey the instructions.(CD) The sky is a darker shade of gray, because i hold no hope for an easy blog tomorrow.(CX) Today was different, today i blogged 12 sentences.
Today I went to TWC with my friends. (s) The place was going out of business, i went there to try and buy some new stuff for snowboarding next year. (cd) Driving there, we stopped at burger king, we also stopped to get some gas. (cd-cx) Walking into an almost empty store, I found that the picking were slim. (cx) I walked around trying to find something cool. (s) Waiting in line at the register, the lady infront of me was talking on the phone, and I saw all these free stickers. (cd-cx) Talking to the guy at the register, I realized he was really bumming about his store closing.(cx) I talked to him about this year snowboarding, and we talked about him opening up a new place in may. (cd) We also talked about the xgames, neither of us really liked anything but the snowboarding in it. (cd) Looking over to my right, I saw a bunch of kids waiting to get their boots tryed on for the next year. (cx) Glancing further along, I saw a dude trying on winter coats that were on sale. (cx) I checked out and bought a new hat, for it was a good idea going to check out the store because I got it for really cheap. (cd)
(S)there once was a cat (CD)he had white furr; he also had black ears.(CD) one day he decided to go to the store, he bought fish and steak.(CX) he also wanted to buy milk, but he couldn't find any. (S) he went to find a clerk. (CD-CX) after finding the clerk, he asked for milk; it was at the back of the store.(CX) when he went to the back of the store,there was a variety of milk.(CD) he chose his favorite one and went to the counter, (CD-CX)when reaching the counter he layed out his things, and said hi to the nice clerk from before.(CX)after rining up the items the clerk put them into a bag. (CX) after the items in the bag they bolth said goodbye.
When I was young, I liked to run to your house(CX). We played games, then we ran around town(CD). We swam in the pool, you dived in the deep end, I floated in the shallow(CD-CX). Were sitting in the room in the corner (S). We made up songs, they sounded fun and exciting (CD). Because were honest friends, we share secrets everyday, then we pinky swear them away(CD-CX). We both get mad buts thats okay (S). We forgive, then we forget it happened (CX).
You said I was your best friend, I said it back to you (CD). Now the days of that is through. Because our fight was bad, its not the same any more(CX). I made a mistake, it's something I can't take away (CD). But please remember the day, that we danced and played (CX).
The morning was as redundant as any other (S). Getting up at 4:30 a.m., the somnolent girl stumbled into the hot shower; not even acknowledging that the water was scalding hot (CD-CX). As she jumped away from the Burning water, her foot slipped on the wet floor and she went tumbling, bringing with her cluttering shampoo bottles (CD-CX). This day was not getting off to a good start, as per usual (CX). After the fiasco with the shower, the girl’s bad luck just continued to come without remorse (CX). Her cleats for training apparently didn’t want to be found, so the girl was stuck brining her gym shoes and dreading the reprimanding she was sure to receive (CD). Oh, don’t worry, it gets better. Now that she established her cleats missing, she could not find her bag with EVERYTHING else in it (CX)! BIG problem! Her cleats could have gone without distress, but her bag containing everything necessary for her afternoon trainings could not be ignored (CD). She began panicking (S). Running around the house, searching every room, the girl could not find the bag (CX). Finally she gave up and decided to forget about it (CD). She finally got in the car and her father asked her why in the world she is 5 minutes late (CD). Answering, she told him she couldn’t find her bag (S). Guess what his reply was (S). Her bag was in the car the whole time (S)!! That’s when the epiphany hit (S). She had put her bag in the car when she went outside to start it (CX)! The girl thought she was going to tear her hair out because she spent all that time worrying for absolutely nothing (CX).
Today started out like any other day…
Yesturday I went to baseball workouts (S). When I walked in I thought it was going to be easy, but the instructor told us to grab two 45 pound weights (Cx). We all grabed two, and we all went into the gym (Cd). We started doing farmers walks, but we had to do squats after 5 minutes (Cd). Once I started getting tired, I tryied to push the thought out of my mind (Cx). As I was pushing, before I took a rest, but then we switched stations (Cd-Cx). After about a minute of plate pushes, my legs are starting to burn (Cx). When we went to frog jumps, and as I was jumping in pain, I turned around and went another lap (Cd-Cx). We had finished, and now we are tired (Cd). After I change out of my shorts, I start walking home (Cx). The snow is cold seeping threw my shoes (S).
last week i went to the movies with my bro, he baught some skittles from the counter (cd).
when i asked for some he said nope, but i put black mail on him so he gave in(cx). when we walked into the movies, i got excited(s). all the seats were filled, every row was filled, then we found two seats(cd/cx).i stood there looking around for a seat, precedig all the people, and sighed at the amount of people.(cx). whenever i go to the movies, my bro tries to sit with all the ladies (cx). i walked quietly to where he was, and he told me to leave (cd). but he doesnt know the ladies were hecking me out(s). he's so lost in his tiy head, he thinks they like him..NOTT.(cx).
I am excited for summer.(s) I can't wait to shed my heavy winter coat and boots.(s)Excited about the warm weather, I can't wait for skateboarding,swimming,traveling, and outdoor concerts. (cx) I am sick of school and I am tired of this winter weather.(cd) Winter feels like a broken record, repeatedly playing the same note. (cx)While I don't want to rush through high school and appreciate that as I get older time seems to go by faster, I still crave those warm summer nights. (cc) I miss the carefree days of summer, hanging out with my buds and jamming to tunes. (cx) I am happy it is staying lighter later as I know it is a sign that winter will soon be over. (cx) I can't wait to go up north and know it will be ten times more fun driving their on my own, without the rents. (cc) I am going to make the best of this summer and I am going to golf as often as I can. (cd) I want to improve my golf game and I know I will get better if I hit the links often. (cd)
Star in the sky striking in the sky, can I make a wish, maybe or maybe not.(CD-CX) Will it come true or not?(S) The star in the sky isn't there any more, I am sad the wish is gone!(CD) I am sad, can you help me or not, look in the sky and it's there it’s bright.(CD-CX) I don’t see it any more.(S)
Gone forever again Star, please come back to me, i feel so alone in this world.(CD-CX) When you left me i just fell apart.(S) no one heard me like you did, where have i gone wrong.(CX) I wish that star was back, so i can just wish you back.(CD) Now im all alone.(S) When i think of you i feel you in my heart, and when i do i start to dance.(CD) I know we gave up in the past but now is new and we changed.(S) Lets try once more and i promise we will make it.(S) But now you are off to see the world, the past years of being with you where the best.(CD)

When I get to school in the morning I hang out with my friend (S). I'm usually the one talking, while my friends listen(CD). When the first bell rings my friends and I say goodbye and I go to my first hour, waiting for class to begin (CD/CX). The class that I have next is one of my least favorites and I dread going each day (CX). My third and fourth hour are two of my favorite classes (S). I have a lot of friends in each class, and they're both fairly easy (CD). When the bell rings for fourth hour to end my best friend and I, after stopping at her locker, go to the lunch room (CD/CX). When we finish lunch, we go to our fifth hours (CX). I attempt to speak Spanish in my fifth hour, while my friend doesn't even try (CD). During my fifth hour, I don't get as much freedom with my friends as I do in third and fourth hour though (CX). Finally, in sixth hour I take a lot of notes and struggle to focus on the history topic all hour (CX). Rushing, I jump from my seat and escape out the door when the last and final daily bell rings (CD).
(S)Waking up the next morning is always the worst.(CD-CX) I was out with the girls, staying up till 6a.m. going from house to house,and sneaking back into mine with out getting caught will give you a rush.(CD-CX) The best part is wearing the crazy outfit, bright colors, and sequence.(CD)It was the best becasue i went with my 3 best friends, we had our driving situaton planned the night before. (CX) After being on the phone for a hour to find out were to meet ,all 3 of us met in the middle of our sub. (CD) Once we got in my car and made it our of our sub, we turned up the radio and sang to the radio. (CX) When we left the sub it was midnight, and when we left to the party to other places it was 4a.m.(CD) By the time we got back to our sub we had went to 3 different parties, and 2 clubs. (CX)But the night was not over, we picked up another friend, then went to a new club down the street.(S) I drove the whole night. (CD) We decided we should go home once it was 5:30, the sneakign back in was the part we all dreded the most.(CX) Getting in then going to your room and not getting caught, makes the night epic!
