Day 6

Today we continued talking about the value of independence. How would you define independence in your life? Do you have any independence or are you completely dependent on people and things? Look at the following quote and tell how it relates to your value of independence:

"Maybe the greatest challenge now is to find a way to keep independence while also committing ourselves to the ties that bind people, families, and ultimately societies together."

To me independence is the ability to do what you want when you want. I have some independence in my life. I have independence when I go places. Like at the mall or at football games I can go do what ever I want. I also have a lot of independence at my house. Most of the time I can do what ever I want because like today my parents wont be home till 5. Even when they are home I have independence, just not as much. Even though I have a lot of independence I still have time for my family and friends.

I would define independence by being able to do what you want to do when you want to do it. I believe you can never get true independence. When you get your license, you can do what you want to do, when you want to do it. I have a little bit of independence because I can entertain myself without having other people around. I am mostly dependent on people and things. The quote is saying that you don't want to have too much independence and you don't want to lean on your friends because they might be gone one day. You want to try and have the perfect combination.

To me independance is when ever you want to do somthing, you can just go right ahead and do it. I have a lot of independence in my life, but i do have to work for it, even though it may just be the small things. For example, if i want to do somthing, like go to my friends, i would have to do some small chores. I think that i don't only depend on other people and things, but i do like having them around to help me out some. What i think that quote might mean is that you should try to be independant as much as you can, yet still have good relationships with people and other things. Be independant can be very hard for some people and some people might like it way better than depending on others. People interprut independance in many different ways, that is my way to think about it.

Independence in my life is being able to go out without my family. To be trusted to do the right thing. Like when i'm at the mall with my friends i can do pretty much whatever i want. I'm not completly dependent on people but i am definetly dependent on my parents a little to keep me organized and stuff. The quote is about being able to be independent while still being close to your family. You shouldn't abuse having independence. It's something we have but people will regret you having it if you abuse it.

indpendence that i would say is being able to do stuff on your own.i think i have as much independence that i can handle. i can do things that i would like to do. i sble to go place where i would like to go like going to football games. i also feel indepedent because if i have a question i will ask for help i will im not the kind of person that waits for the answer. or if i need help with a game i will ask one of my friends to help me on it.that is why i feel that i am independent.

I would define the word independence as a luxury. It is only earned, as is any other thing in life. Not all of us have independence right away, there is a need to declare it. Independence is being able to make your own decisions, do what you want, run your own life the way you want and ultimately, it is to achieve your own freedom. Independence hasn't quite declared itself in my life, my parents still have full reign over me and I have no choice to be okay with it. This kind of freedom will be acquired over time. As you can see, independence can be viewed different ways but when it comes down to it, independence is needed to live a life on your own.

Independence im my life is a lot about honesty and trust. I have a lot of independence in my life because my parents trust me that i will do the right thing. This quote is about not abusing independence. Even though you have independence that doesnt mean you forget the people you love. You still have to remember the people that raised you and maybe be there when they need help. I rely on my parents for a lot of things and thats why i dont abuse independence. This is what independence means to me.

Independance for some is choosing where and when the can work. For me it's just to go do whatever I want and whenever I want to a cirtain extent of course. Going back a bit we were great britans bitches untill some people said F this and got more people convinced and we went to what is now called USA. We had thousands of people fight for us to be as independant as we are today. I love being independant, i do alawys wonder what life would be like if people didn't come over here and fight for indepandance. Us americance have independance at around 5-7 years of age. They hope that they drilled in right from wrong and let us do some stuff on our own. Like going to friends riding bikes etc. Then as you age you get more and more independance like no bed times or curfues you get to drive enentually you get allowances jobs etc. This is the land of the free and home of the brave. So many come here for independance. Usually im very independant, I don't really like help only when I really absolutly need it. So im very thankful for my indepandance.

To me independence means basically doing what you want to do to a certain limit. I know I have independence. When my mom leaves me home alone it makes me feel independent. Also when we go out anywhere and my parents let me go of by myself or with my friends. I know I have limits though. I have lots of independence but I'm mature with it. I will always make sure there is time for my
family and friends before my independence.

In my opinion independence is the capability to do what you want within the restrictions of society(sadly). I find that i have my independence in things such as going to sleep when i want. Eating what i want depending on what is supplied. I can usually do what i please because me mother has to work and my father...well. Thats another story. Anyways! when my mother is at home i sadly have to say that i feel as tho my independence is shrunk or diminished. And even when my mother isn't home the rules and laws of society still hold pretty much every human being back from going all-out in their independence. Now im not nesscarly saying thats a bad thing. But still no matter how hard we try in the end we as humans are simply independent creatures stuck inside a large cage called society. That is placed there not only to restrain us. But to also protect us and assist us in times of strife and conlfict.

for me, my Independence is the things that my parents don't control.
for instance right now i have the independence to do my homework if i want to. If i chose not to home work my parents will notice that my grades are going down and force me to do it, thus losing that independence. but i am dependent on my parents for shelter. if i didn't have them i would be on the streets with no money for a place to stay. to me this quot means is with all the laws and things you must do its hard to keep your independence. Its the same with me and all the rules and laws i must fallow in and out of school.

Personally speaking, independence to me is being able to be free and to not have someone looking over my shoulder the whole time. In my life, I have a lot of independence but I still to have to depend on people sometimes. For example, I have a lot of independence when I'm out with my friends. My parents trust me as their child and can send me out on my own. But, I do rely on my parents for somethings. Those would be rides from one place to another, since I can't drive, clothes and food. To me, this quote talks about having independence from everyone else, but yet still not blowing them off. Also, it talks about balancing your independence. Some people who grow up on depending on their moms and dads are going to have a harder time adjusting to independence, being all on their own. As you can see, independence means many things to me.

I think that independance is very important, because without independance the world would be a completely different place. I have a lot of indenpendance, because depending on other people or things will not always work out. Sometimes the person you're depending on might not accomplish what was depended on, or the object you'r depending on like a computer or phone might not work, like the battery dies, or it breaks or gets lort. The more independant you are the more sucessful you can be in life. I am independant when it comes to most things in my life, like when I'm with friends, at school, or anywhere. I will do whatever I feel is right for me to do, but always to limitations a set for myself.

When I think of the word independence I dont think of something that is offered but more earned through your actions. In my life I would say i'm pretty independent i don't rely on my friends or family for everything. I really only rely on my family for money to shop. If people can not be independent i would define them as not confident in themselves or self concious so they rely on others to make them more popular or feel wanted in life. The quote relates to my view of independence because it says it is one of the greatest challenges and i believe you have to earn independence. Independence isn't something that is just handed to you on a silver platter you have to work for it just like any other goals you have. Just because people are independent doesnt mean they cant lose their independence once you've got it you dont just throw it away you still have to work at it and it should be a value on everyones list.

Independence is something every body has at some point in there life. as i get older i see myself as more independent because of how i act and nee help. i think that more people are dependent on somethings then others and we grow out of that phase on or life. like when we are infants we are completely dependent on others but As you become older you slowly grow out of that phase. me as being a teenager i feel that i have become independent on my thoughts and how i act. this is my thoughts on independence.
