On CNN there was a story about a man jailed in Japan for reclaiming his children from his ex-wife. The man's ex-wife went against the law and ran off with the man's children. They settled the custody battle in the United States. But when he went to Japan with his children, he was arrested for abduction of minors. He now has to be in jail in Japan while his wife looks like the victim in this case. I think this is really dumb of the Japan police force. His wife was the one who stole his children from him in the first place and he just wanted them back and got arrested for it? His wife should be the one who gets arrested because she is the one who went against the law first. What they both did was very wrong on many levels but if anyone has to get in trouble it should be the wife.

Today my current event is about the rising gas prices in the United States. The prices of gas have been increasingly rising, hurting the economy as it does. It is currently double what it was in 2003. Economists predict it will continue to rise. Oil is expected to be 30% higher this winter, while Natural gas in households is expected to rise 48%. This affects my community because as the economy gets worse and worse, the people in my community can't afford the expensive gas prices. They will be forced to ride bikes or take the bus to work because a months worth of gas is up to $800 for some people. We cannot afford this increase in prices and therefore will be forced to trade in their cars and sell their valuables to pay the months bills.

I'm going to report about the Tsunami that hit the American Samoa today. This Tsunami was formed by an earthquake. The earthquake was a 7.9 magnitude earthquake. This tsunami is reported to hit Hawaii at 7 p.m. eastern time. This will affect our world dearly by having rescue missions to try and help the people of these nations. Also, there will be drives for canned foods and money to help these people. I really hope that nobody was killed by this tsunami.

A 14 year old school girl died after getting a cervical cancer vaccine. In this article a girl went to get a vaccine to help fight against the human papilloma virus, A sexually transmitted virus. The virus causes up to 70 per cent of cervical cancer cases. This involves me because I am friends with girls and I have a sister. If they went to get a vaccine and died from it I would be really mad. I no if I went to get a vaccine for anything and got sick from it I would be mad. I really hope no more people die from bad vaccines.

on fox news president obama want to extend the scool year. hes says "kids spend to little time i the class room". he suggests that we make school hour longer. this has an impact on our econies because schools no have to pay for aircondiner and more over time. it also means the travel industry will take a huge hit because few parents will want to stay home and not cut it close to go anywhere towards the end of the year. i think that this is a bad idea because toward the end of the year kids have hard times to pay attition. i would be upset if i found out that i had more school time. that is what i think on president obama school plan.

The name of my article is "Homeless Find temporary Haven in tent camps." This article is about many people over the country who have nowhere to live so they move into tents. These homeless live in their tents at tent camps. Homeless rights advocates who argue that people struggling to get back on their feet need a permanent place to stay. They are ending up this way because of the economy all over. I think this effects me and my community because this is happening all around us. We all should be aware of this if we aren’t already. It can happen to anyone of us or to someone that we know. We may think we are in a good situation but the way the economy is we could end up like these people.

On CNN there was a video that explained that a 17 year old boy was accidentally hit in the head while in the first quarter of a football game on Friday September 25, 2009. He died two days later. When he earned his drivers license he told his family that he wanted his organs donated to people that really need them. His family is very sad and happy at the same time. R.I.P

"Tsunami leaves dozens dead in Samoa". Seven villages on the south pacific coast were swept out to sea by the fierce tsunami by Apia, the capital of Samoa. Reporters have stated that 40 people have been killed in the village. Most of the reporters have been saying once the weather clears up the death rate is sure to keep inclining. This event effects most of us even though we are not by the tsunami. It effects us by knowing that members of other families are being killed. Knowing this makes us all think for a minute about 'what if this was my family?'. I think if we all thought about that it would really upset us. Maybe if we all thought of that we could care more about things that arent happening to us which make our lives seem not that bad.

Today there was a grant announced that is supposed to help more than 13,000 workers. It is helping out the unemployed. The grant is going towards retraining people for their careers. And it will also support mainly people who lost jobs in the auto industry. This effect my community because it will help out. If people get the right training for jobs, less people will be jobless. If more people have jobs it helps the economy. I got my information at this website:

The top general in Iraq is sending home 4,000 U.S. troops by the end of October as the six-year war winds down. Troops are finally going to start coming home, in small groups to reduce the risk of danger. This is a current event that should do the nation proud, for the fact that we have waited six long years for this war to end. This process of bringing our troops home will bring people together, for relief of our sons, daughters, fathers, moms, and many others are finally making it home were they belong. Our nation should rejoice with happiness and relief. Soon, this chaos in Iraq will end.

Today a tsunami has struck a country because of an earth quake. "PAGO PAGO, American Samoa – Towering tsunami waves spawned by a powerful earthquake swept ashore on Samoa and American Samoa early Tuesday, flattening villages, killing at least 34 people and leaving dozens of workers missing at devastated National Park Service facilities.". This article is about how one earth quake in the ocean created a tsunami that killed 34 people. this effects me and my community because our American red cross help for food and water which is costing the U.S money. this effects the world because there was an earth quake in the ocean so that means it hit other country's to. this is the recent event i found and wanted to share.

on sept. 7th 2009 3 men from the UK Abdulla Ahmed, Ali Tanvir, and Hussainand Assad Sarwar are found guilty of conspirising to kill passangers and crew members aboard 7 transatlantic flights. This has change the airline regulationg of only allowing bottles of liquid of 3oz. and lower aboard airlines. there were 4 other men on trail, but they were found not guilty. A fifth was charged with attempt of murder. Ali, Hussain, and Sarwar were also found guilty of attempt to commit murder in sept. three people mess up stuff for the millions of others in the world. just like the taking off your shoes deal at the airport, all because someone put a knife in their shoe.

Ok this is the third time tryin the blog because my computer keeps crashing...

After looking for a current event after a while and not being able to find one that interested me. I asked my mom if she knew any and she gave me this one. It's a news article on yahoo.com about President Obama wanting to change the amount of school we have in America. President Obama wants to add 3 hours to our school day or take 3 months off o four summer vacation. I highly dislike the idea of adding 3 hours onto our school days. I also dislike the 3 months off of our summer vacation but its not as bad as an extra 3 hours each day. I think that we have enough school. I think that the sumer vacation we have is important. Mainly because during our vacation all of the students are relaxing and doing what they do. But when the time comes to come back to school most of the students are looking forward to it. I think this because when they come back to school they can talk to people they havnt talked to in a while, catch up with friends, meet new people, and make new friends. So I disagree with Obama's plans of adding time to our school time.

Today on the news all you are hearing about lately is how horrible the economy is. Now our government cannot even look out for the best of its citizens and so now our state is going into a possible government shut-down. If they do not shut down the government it is going to effect us kids in school and our education. They want to pull 218 dollars per student, which will be a huge loss of money for the schools. We already have to fundraise for everything, i can't even imagine how horrible it will get with all of this happening. Then if they do end up taking that money away per student, they want to pay it back in the future, and that means they are going to have to raise taxes even more. This is going to be very rough on people that are un-employed right know. I love the state of Michigan and everything but i am very worried about its future with everything that is going on with the government, and ofcourse, the economy.

This week my current event is about a GM truck plant in Pontiac, Michigan being shut down. According to the Detroit news, it employes around 1,000 workers. The plant has been there for 35 years and made tremendous acts towards the community such as working with Make-A-Wish foundation. A lot of the workers that worked at the plant are very disappointed in president Obama. They are upset because they banned together to vote for the Obama administration but now Obama is trying to give foreigners their jobs. Also people wonder what will happen if they shut down the other three plants. If they decide to do that, the unemployment rate will be between 35-40% in one year. These GM plants have all won J.D. power awards for quality. Many people question why they are shutting down the plant.

My current evetn has to do with the nuclear bomb in Iran. Obama and the leaders of Britain stood together to denounce Iran's construction of a secret nuclear bomb. The Isrealis have made a threat of military strike as they have made the final touches to the nuclear bomb. Another interesting fact is that this has benn the first time since American has talked to Iran in 30 years. This canaffect the world because nuclear bombs have a big impact on a country. This has created some fueds between the United Nations agency. This is why I think nuclear bombs necer should have been made.
