Day 12
Today we looked at articles about the American Dream and gave you that short piece to read. What I find interesting is this idea of what types of life our ancestors led to get the country to the place it is today. Yet, it makes me think about what we have to dream about as Americans. Therefore, my question to you is what do you think the American Dream of your generation is going to be? How will your generation move our country forward like the generations before you? Do not just re-tell yesterdays dream because we have the cars, the homes, the technological advances that our grandparents worked to give us. Think long and hard about your response.

in my life i think that the american dream for geneation would be. haveing a job would be the most improtian thing. every one wants one so that way they can pay for bills and other things. second would have to be having a at least one game concil. people would want to play games when they have free time.the last thing would have to be being online people cant stand not being to check up on what they need to check up on. that is what i think the american dream for our generation is.
I think the American Dream for my generation is Success and happiness. In my opinion these two things go together. I think when you become successful in the ways that you want to become successful, you are happy with your acheivement. These things will move our country forward because people are willing to work harder to meet their goals. That means more acheivements as a country, like making new discoveries and learning about things we have not yet learned.

There are many possible american dreams that people can think of. The one that i could think of is the smart car. Not just a car that has better gas mileage then other cars, but a car that can communicate with other cars and drivers to make the road a safer place. This would be a huge step in technology as we know it. Our generation will help move this along by using smarter energy sources to help make higher gas mileage. Also, we would have our engineers would develop technology to communicate with the other cars on the road. Our American dream could be a lot different then our grandparents had.
This is a big American Dream. This dream might be in our generation it might but not. The dream is hover cars. hover cars would be very use full and more safe. Trafic going one way would be at a sertain hight. Trafic going the other way would be at a different hight. This dream is going to be hard to achive but it is possible. It is also going to be safe.
I think that the American dream for my generation is to at least get a better job than our parents, and to travel to change the world. We would move our country forward by getting the economy back to the way it was before the war in Iraq. Vote for a good president that will help our country. Change the world one good deed at a time, by cleaning the oceans, stop CO2 emissions, and pick trash up off the ground. We can even help clean all of the landfills that we've filled throughout the past five decades or so.

I think that the American Dream for the next generation is new forms of energy. I think we will be able to figure out a better way make mass quantites of solar energy, wind enery, and hydroelectric energy. With this we wont have to worry about the prices of gas putting people in debt because there is an unlimited amount of sun and wind. The American Dream can be fulfilled by the American Dream of the last generation being fulfilled. This is because if they teach us what we need to know then we will have the ability to expand the American Dream. With cars running off of solar power and houses running off of solar power then it sould save a lot people money. I believe this can be the American Dream of our generation.
I think some of the american dream's of this generation will be many improvments of energy and better ways of conserving energy as well. Maybe we will make cars that are mini van sized to run off electricity? Right now we only have the smart car and honestly, it's not a convient car to have more people in. We might even improve on different types of fuels we could use. I belive just recently they discovered cars could run off of corn oil. It's a great discovery and i belive our generation could discover something even more useful and cheaper to purchase. This is what i belive the american dream could be for our generation.
The American Dream, in my opinion, for the next generation will not to be successful in the money sense, but successful when it comes to family. Many people believe that the American Dream is all about having the biggest house you can have and the most money in the world. Yet still, will all those things, you can still be unhappy. With the divorce rate today, which is way above average, people value a successful marriage, and more importantly a successful family. That is what truly can make a person happy. I think that our generation can possibly bring a sense of hope to the U.S. with more advice on how to restore families instead of their bank accounts. The importance with how big our checks our will decrease when we have family that will always support us.
Our generation is screwed in the future and our kids generation. Then hopfully everything will bounce back like it always does. I hope in my time there will be an advance in the medical feilds. Like cures for cancer and other fatial or dibilitating deseases. Also this countries job ethic will hopfully increase due to the scaricity of good jobs now a days. For our generation and our kids, i think the dream will be able to keep a house and support a family.
I think the American Dream for this generation is going green. To do this we need save and preserve our resources for our future generations. We can save on the energy and stop pollution. We could also be more economic with more fuel efficient vehicles. Another part of this American Dream is fresh water clean. I think this will be a big problem in the future. Going green is my American Dream.

I sit here and think long and hard about where our lives are going as the youth of the nation. Today, the American dream is to be successful, have a family, and to just get by safely and happily. My generation seems to be different, as if this American dream is going in a new direction. It seems like this dream is to be well liked, to be the most successful of anyone and everyone else, and to just be completely phonominal. These standards today are really rising and seem like they are nearly impossible to reach. What is causing this to happen? Is it just me? What can we do?
i think that the main idea of the American dream hasn't changed much. Its to be happy and successful. I think are generation will want to be successful therefore moving are country foreword. they way we will do this is coming up with new inventions and going green. by going green we will altemetly save money and life will be a little bit more simple. we will do thing like electric cars, and solar, wind. and geothermic houses. This will eliminate the need for fossil fuels and things.
I think that the American Dream for our generation is going to have to same concept as all the other generations, but is going to be a little different. It is going to be different because we are going through a really rough economy at the moment. But i still think we can make the best of it and still be successful. And what is still out there to be discovered and just might be with out generation is a cure to many sicknesses that we can't find right now. We will probably come up with a way that cars will not have to use gas anymore and such. I think it isn't going to be as easy as it was for all the generations before us to live the american dream, but we are sure going to try to live it up. We are just going to have to try harder, and the ones that do, it will show. The American Dream is most definately still possible, just not as easy.
I do believe that our generation will move our country forward. I think that with newer advances coming out in technology, our world has to advance. Thirty-some years ago, people would never think to have all the luxuries we have now, such as smart cars and movie theatres in our houses. We have so many more resources to discover now that it would be hard not to advance our society. For my generation I think people will still keeping wanting luxuries, so the American Dream will have more materialistic value. For example, my parents' American Dream was just to have a nice healthy family but I think in the future it will be more along the lines of who has the nicest house or the newest gadgets that are out. As time progresses, the American Dream will always change.
Thinking long and hard over this response during my swim meet this evening. Thinking it over i found that in my opinion the american dream for my future generations would be for them to have a job. Secondly would be for every generation to be able to hang out with friends and acquaintances if they wish within a line of rules. i hope for the future generations to have more freedom and independance then i do. All the while i hope that safety can be kept while still holding this freedom.

As we look at the past generations we see the american dream was to be successful and happy. Unfourtunatly its not like that for us it seems like we have such high standards now a days. Are they too high? Or is it just me? I think our generations american dream is to push past everyone being successful and trying to get oour success noticed by others. I think our generation is EXTREMELY lazy therefore i dont think we are going to be more successful then the generation before us. In this generation it feels like everything is handed to us for no reason the only thing that isnt is our grades in school. I honestly believe our generation needs to step it up a notch and take control of some of our advances that other generations did not have.
Our generation needs to clean up a lot of mess the generation before us caused. our whole generations Americans Dream is to reverse the damage done to our planet and try to stop the recession. and i think we can do this and we will because we now know about the damage we have done. we will do this by making more fuel efficient vehicles and clear Co2 emission. also we know know that we are polluting the oceans and now we are working on cleaning the oceans and preserving the wild life. this is a couple of many things that our generation. in my opinion i think that our generation is going to be a clean economy.
I think that the American dream for my generation isnt quite to be more succesful the their parents. But to be at least as succesful as their parents. because with todays bad economy no one knows what their future will be like. Also who knows what Obama will do to America's economy. So I todays generation's American dream is to just to do well.
