I thought we had a good week and hope you did as well. I thought the test was easy when I wrote it. Basically, everything on the study guide was on the test word for word (especially the short answer questions). Next week we will begin discussing the paper we will be writing. Make sure you have both your textbook and your Into the Wild book as you will need both for this assignment.
At the beginning of the week in 6th hour, we discussed the idea of paying it forward. Then, later in the week I blogged that this concept would come back to haunt you on Friday. Today is Friday so here goes:
Explain the concept of pay it forward and how it is important especially in the times we are living. Next tell me something you did this week that goes along the lines of paying it forward and how this action betters someone's life as well as your own and how that person may know to pay it forward as well.
If you did nothing this week then I guess this blog is not for you.

I think that the concept of paying it forward could mean to give back to society. Or even in smaller terms helping another person out. Its important to do this in the times we are living because , some people are loosing their jobs and aren't getting paid as much so everyone could use a little help. Something i did this week that would be considered paying it forward would be to do a fundraiser that helped another family. This could change their life if enough people did it and they raise a lot of money. They could know to pay it forward because if they do get help then they will want to help others because they know people helped them. I think that everyone should "pay it forward " , because in the long run it could help you too.

The consept paying it foward is that you do a good deed for someone and later it comes back around. It is extremley important because someone may really need help and you may need help later on in life. Also, one good deed could change a person who may be down and upset. This week I babysat my sister while my parents were at work. I had plans that day but I put them off to help them out. This probually isn't a life-changeing deed but my parents were missing a lot of work due to a death in the family. So by doing this deed may later come back to me because some day they will have days they can miss work again.

Pay it forward is a concept that just means to be nice to someone. It mainly comes from seeing another person do a kind act and you do the same. Being kind to someone, in this concept, is not a have to do, but more of a want to do. The feeling after you help someone or do something nice is the reward for what you did. In our time this is an extremely important idea. Ever since 9/11, our country needs to experience paying it forward very much. It can pull us together more. Being nice to someone shouldn't be a chore to do. Seeing someone else make an act of kindness should make you want to help out too. I think that an act that I did this week that goes along the lines of paying it forward was holding a door open for someone and giving someone a pencil. These acts don't have to be big contributions, they can be tiny things. However, these tiny things go a long way. If everyone did these kinds of acts, the world could become a better place because everyone would learn how to coexist and be nice to each other instead of living as seperate groups. My friends and I are generally nice to people and I think that we pay it forward everyday and others see what is happening and they follow.

I think that the concept of paying it forward is basically to help someone out. Also to make someones life a little easier. This can be important to society, especially in times right now. Because, with everyone losing their jobs and the war going on, people could need a little help right now. This week, I lended someone a pencil, and helped my mom around the house to clean up and stuff. I know these arent very big things, but its not about what you do to help someone, its about how it makes you feel after you help that person. Whether it be just holding a door open for someone, or lending someone a pencil. This could be an advantage to me because, I hope that that person lends me a pencil the next time I need one, and so on.
Paying it forward means doing a good deed for someone else. Treating others with respect, showing that u respect their boundaries, and so on. Being nice to people shouldn't be a rule. Everyone wasn't raised the same way but everyone should have a little bit of kindness in them. Like challenge day, you get to see who people realy are. Everyone needs to be loved no matter what. Anyways, kindness is a trait most people should have to make other people feel welcome and not left out. Sometimes, I'm not so bright, i dnt no i dont mean its just some days i'm like that. I need to change that because im really nice, and i love to make people feel better.

I think the concept of paying it forward means giving back to the community. It is important especially in these times.People are losing their houses, and the economy is really down. Something I did this week that goes along with the lines of paying it forward is me and my family went down to this recycling and took a whole lot of paper, cardboard, and metel to be recycled. This can better someone's life by saving the environment. This better my life by knowing that I am helping the environment. I think that person may know to pay it forward by seeing all the people who are willing to give back to their commiunty and to help their environment.

I think that paying it forward is to do csomething nice for one person then they do something nice for someone else. If people constsanly did this than everone would be alot happier and niceer. Our world is mean. We are constantly having wars and fighting with eachother. If everone payed it forward than there would be less fighting and more people would get along. This we I did a nice thing for a old man. He had his hands full with grocries and I held the door for him. He gave me a smile and siad thanks. I think that I made that man feel better so mabey he helped someone else out.

Paying it forward is very imprtant in our society because it makes the world a better place. When you put others before yourself it makes an impact and inspires others to do the same. Too many people in the world aren't kind to each other and paying it forward can change the world one person at a time. Something I did this week to pay it forward is to help my brother. This week he got a cast form his thigh to his ankle and has been having a hard time getting around. So when we go places I help him out, hold the door, wait for him, and carry his stuff. This will hopefully make an impact on him and maybe he'll remember that and help me out when I need it.
Paying it forward means to do something good to help someone in life.It is important in this time because times are rough and people could reallt use a boost in morale. This week to pay it forward I agreed with my mom and did my homework early and came into school early to ask some questions. This may of helped improve my grades and study habits. My mom will not be as stressed out and stop arguing with me.So this helps both of us.Now my mom may be not as stressed and she will pay it forward to my dad.

The concept of paying it forward is that when you do something kind, or charitable that the person will do the same to someone else. Especially know this is a very important part of how our society can function. The world has changed from caring communities to competitive individuals. This week a car was stopped on the side of the road. So my friend nick and I pulled over to help push the mans car. He thanked us for helping and we told him it wasn't a problem. I just hope that what we did effected him into wanted to pay it forward for someone else.

I think payiny it foward means someone does something nice for you so you do somethign nice for someone eles. Its just like the Coke commerials where someone opens a door for someone and that person gives another person a Coke beacasue of the good deed someone di for him. Another example in life I see is in football some teams don't call pentlys for the oposting team, hoping that they will do the same for them since they did something nice. This theroy is especially important in these times now with the ecomney not doing so well and people needing as much help as possiable. This week I "payed it forward" by sharing my water with other at cross country and holding the door open for someone behide me. Both of these are things I didn't have to do and it was my desion to do they. Hopefuly the deeds will come back to me and others that saw me do the deed will keep the spirt going.

i think it means helping out another person, or society. Its important to do this in our society because people are loosing their jobs. Even houses. Something i did this week was help fundraise money for Someone who has cancer. i help collect money, sell cookies. This can help them because if we raise enough money, this will help them pay out the bills. And be easier on the family. This will help them pay it foward by the next time someone needs help they can go and help them. Knowing that people helped them when they were in trouble. I think everyone should pay it foward, because it will help you out when your in trouble.

What I think paying it foward means that you should pay back people who have done nice things for you. Or maybe even helping someone out just because you felt like it. Something that i did this week was i help raise money for Alex T, and his family at the cheer game. We raised money in alot of different ways. I think this is paying it foward because they really need the money to help Alex survive. We helped his family alot tongight, and so did alot of other familys. You never know what you do is someone down the road you will get payed back for doing somthing nice for somone.
I think that pay it forward means to try your hardest to help someone. This is important at this time because people are financially in trouble and everyone needs a boost of confidence or some help. don't think everyone is selfless enogh to pay it forward, now-a-days everyone is so involved with their own lives. I actually paid it forward today at the football game. I donated to help one of my friends with a problem he is having. I think that this was important because with all the donations, it will really help him. I think that paying it forward will help everyone, as long as the person you help, helps someone else and so on.
the concept of paying it forward goes along with the thought of giving back to society or like doing good deeds to help someone. ultimatly the more you give the more you get. i also thought of the golden rule which is treating people the way you would like to be treated. this idea of paying it forward is definatly lacking in our world today, not to many people are acustomed to being fair with everyone they encounter. people will do unfair or unjust things just to get a head in their work even. i didnt really have a really outstanding deed during the week but a small one would be that theres this kid that i was nice to and other kids werent and they gave me candy today. which isnt that big of a reward but it was something.

I think the paying it forward means to help others in need. Or giving back to society. What i did maybe doesnt seem very big, but i helped someone pick up there books. They had fallin and i helped them pick up there things. It meet alot to him because someone stopped and cared. In this case you have to think would you want someone to help you. If you would then you need to help other people.Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Everything you do matters. Paying it forward doesnt mean you have to do something big the small stuff counts to. As long as you do something it helps.

paying it foward is to change the view of a situation and figure out how you can help. it is to do something that takes some effort. to care about someone or something and give part of your time to contribute. this week i payed it foward for a friend. she moved this year to a new state and new school and was having a really bad day. so i told he to tell me everything and i tired to give everything a more positive outlook. paying it foward is when you do something nice to someone. eventually it wil make its way back to you.
Mr. Kay,
The concept of paying it forward is essentially saying that if someone shows your respect of does something kind or generous for you, then you circle it back to the same people and especially others. Its sort of the idea of what goes around comes around at least the good side of the saying. It is important now-a-days because of deep country wide depression and no one helps another, so if everyone is a bit more generous the country would be a happier better place. This week no one really started the trend to pass it on to me, so i started my own line where no one jump started my line of paying it forward. This week I bought a couple friends Burger King because they had no money. This may not be a big deal but moneys tight and something like that actually might cause someone to feel nice and help another person. This also makes me feel better about myself and I just want to do it more and pay more forward to others. I know now that, not that I expect them to pay it back, but that they would buy me some sort of food when I have no money. So It's like Good Karma kind of except a bit more controllable and human oriented.

Paying it forward is basically like car-ma. If you do a good deed for someone in return if something like that happens to you someone will do a good deed back to you. Like in the show "My Name is Earl". Earl tries to make up for all the bad things he did in the past. This week at the lakeland vrs. milford football game, a young man about a year younger than myself was walking away from the concession stand. When I noticed he had dropped his wallet. After checking to see how much money was in it and seeing if identification was in it. I yelled the name on the students id card. I believe his name was David. He turned and said to him that he had dropped his wallet and he said thank you and he walked away with his group of friends. This is the was the way I payed it forward this week.

Playing it forward, in my mind, means doing a random act of kindness to someone because you want to. It is especially important in the times we live in because our economy is in such a bad state. Everyone is suffering so the littlest things are what make people happy. This week I had an example of playing it forward that really made me feel good. One of my friends was cold standing outside so I gave them my hoodie even though I was cold too. It made me feel good because I did a good deed to help someone else out, even though I was freezing cold. It benefits me because playing it forward may help out in the long run, and it makes you feel a sense of accomplishment. This person may know to pass it on because when one person does something good, it is like a virus that catches on to other people. To me, it seems like whenever something like that happens, other people start to do the same things.
Mr. Kay,
Paying it forward means to do something nice for someone and then they pass it on to someone else. This can make someone's day. Little things can go a long way in life. This past week my grandmother pasted away. I think the hardest part was thinking about what my grandpa's life is going to be like without here around. Anyway, after the funeral i sat down with my grandpa and made sure he was ok. Honestly, he handled the whole thing pretty well. I cant imagine being married for 60 years and then waking up the next day and shes not there. I hope my grandpa will pass on the love and stories for the rest of his life.

I think that paying it forward means to do a kind act for another. In return, I think that others generally do something kind in return. Paying it forward to some one can even start others to pay it forward if they see you doing it on a regular basis. Yet, sometimes it does not push others to do good deeds because it could go unseen. I think that is the hardest form of paying it forward. When you do a good deed for another, but nobody else sees it. I do not think we need to get a pat on the back from others everytime we do a good deed though. We should do it just because we know it makes a person's day better. You do not have to change some one's life by helping them. Just the little acts of kindness can brighten another's day and keep them going. This week, my brother was not feeling well and his throat was dry and scratchy. When we were about half way to school, he realized he forgot his water. I had one but I had nothing else to drink for the rest of the day, or any money to buy anything. Even though he didn't ask for it, I gave him my water because I knew he needed it more. Even small acts of kindness like this can help a person greatly. I could have been selfish and kept my water, but instead I tried to do what I would want my brother to do for me if we were in the opposite positions. Because I did this for him, if I need something one day, he may be more enthusiastic to help me.

I think paying it forward could mean many things. I think it means helping people out. Or maybe donating to an organization. With our war going on, its especially important to come together as a society, or a country, and pay our respects to our troops. This week i helped my friend study for her math test. She is on the border line of passing and asked me to help her. I believe this was paying it forward because i helped someone out. Everyone pays it forward in someway, whether they know it or not.

Pay it forward means that if some one does something nice for you, when you can you should do something nice to them. This week I helped my grandma with some house work. A few days later she came up to me with a big bag of change and said "here you go this should get you a couple of school lunches". I wasn't expecting anything back but in return for the house work she gave me some change she had saved. My grandma has always done this for me. Id do something for her and then she would surprise me with a bag of cookies. Just goes to show if you do something nice you might have something nice hapen to you.
Paying it forward is a way of doing a good deed and maybe that person will do the same for someone else. It's important in our age because with the economy in a downward spiral, many people are getting more deppressed everyday. I can't imagine that emo music crap is helping either, so a simple thing can make a person's day. Yesterday I gave money to people raising money to help someone survive cancer. Hopefully this encouraged other people to danate money and when this person fights cancer he can help raise money for cancer victims. When you do something like this it really does make you feel better about yourself. You get something back when you give something. Paying it forward has a little to do with kharma, and it's true when you see someone doing something good, it's contagious and you want tto do something good, too.

I think the concept means do good things for others becuase someone else has for you. Like I choose to help my parents clean up the house and yard. By helping them I could not have to do something another day. It should be something everyone should to help each other out. If everyone was nicer to everyone and pay it forward more often things would be nicer. People wouldnt think so negative agaisnt each other becuase their would be less things annoying them. I think it would also make things easyer for everyone.

I think paying it forward can mean a few things. Paying it forward might mean helping someone out. Paying it forward in long terms might mean work in life and in return you will have money. This morning I helped my pops clean up and grade our haunted houses parking lot. I normaly dont do this after getting off work at 1:00am because im tired. I know im not payed for this but I did it anyway. Doing this for the honor of being kind is what paying it forwards about.
I think that paying it forward can mean many things. First of all it means if someone does something good for you than you do something good for someone else. This does not mean it has to be to the same person but just someone in general. This is expecially important in these times becasue the economy isn't good so people are struggling in today all over. Also, there is a lot of poverty i think going around the everywhere in the united states so the more you help the better. Now for what i have done this week to pay it forward. Afterthe football game on friday against Milford I stayed after and cleaned up the stands with a couple of my friends. Also, i helped out my friends with homework and basically just school. Last i have helped my friend who is on crouches.
Ty Bouwens, 6th hour
The concept of paying it forward in my opinion is being a good person. Helping out the people that surround you, even if you do not know them. Being nice to everyone, not just your friends. You never know when you will need a friend, so if you were mean to someone they will not want to help you out. One thing that could be considered paying it forward that I have done this week is, helping out my mom without complaining. She's been working a lot, then picking me up, and cooking dinner for a family of four and whenever she asked me to do something I would always complain. not realizing how much she does for me, and how little I do in return. I decided to help out around the house more, picking up more chores than the usual. all to show her that I do care for her. This isn't the only way you can pay it forward there are many different actions you can do. Basically, you should always be the bigger person and help someone just to show them you care. Even if there not part of your "group". You can never have to many friends.

The concept of paying it forward means that you do something for someone else out of good will. You helped someone in need because you wanted to, in hope that the person will return the favor. It is important in the times we are living now because almost everyone can use help right now. Our economy is increasingly falling and we're in the middle of a war. There are people who really need our help right now, and we may need help later on in life. This week I helped my mom extra around the house and watching out for my little sister. My mom has been very busy lately and she appreciates that there is less things for her to worry about because I took care of them. Later on she might remember what I did for her and take that into consideration when I ask her for something. I think everyone should "pay it forward" even if the favor is not always returned. It helps us all in the long run, and one day you may really need help and people will be there to assist you.
i think that paying it forward means that wen you do something good for someone else, it will eventually come back to you. This is important now because people are losing jobs and evrything and if you help some one then they can help you to. This week i let my friend borrow my hoodie because she was cold, then the next day she let me borrrow her hoodie. so that was kinda like paying it forward. This helped her cause she was cold and then she wasnt cold. She did know to also pay it forward cuz i was cold to. People should know to pay forward because its just a nice thing to do. Some times people give it forward but other times they dont.

I think that paying it forward means that if someone does something nice for you you will do something nice to that person or anybody. Its the same concept as returning a favor or something. It is important to this now and days because people really do need some help. Everybody needs a little help and we could all return some help. I now that sometimes I dont do some a favor and when I dont, I dont get returned one, but when I do I do get a favor returned. This week I helped babysit my cousins for my aunt and uncle. I didnt really want to do it but I did them a favor and they appreciated it. In return I made some money and I was happy.

I think the idea of paying it forward is doing something good for someone that will come back to you at one time or another. I think this is a lot like karma. Also just to help someone out. If you do good deeds and help people out then I think good things will happen to you or someone will help you when they see you need it. Paying it forward is definitly impportant right now because a lot of people are having money problems because of our economy and even the smallest act of kindness could make someone's day a whole lot better. In this past week I have done a few things that would relate to "paying it forward." One of them would be when I helped my mom clean up outside and put the table and chairs in the garage for the winter. I think my mom realized that I helped her when she needed it.

I think that paying in forward means doing someone good for someone. I thinl that it keeps peace in society. This week, I really think I did my best to pay in full. As all know, I was in a little debocle with a classmate this month. I really think that this week made a step to finish resolving the problem. We kind of both went out to be kind and try to help eachother if needed. I think that I also did well this week with my dad. He is leaving for a trip on Monday, and all week and thus far of the weekend I really have tried to do all I can to help him pack and finish jobs before he leaves.

To pay forward is to do or act in a good way or deed then in the long run recieve a good deed from someone else. I believe that this is one of the most important acts that people could do in our society today. On friday at the lakeland game i did a good deed by helping out the thickston family by carrying all cans donated to the family back to the trailer to return for money. After acting on this i elt so proud of what i did and felt as if i were a great member in our society. (HaHa) About a couple hours later i found it funny how alex thickston bought me McDonalds and suprised me with it at the game. I find this to be a good example of paying it forward. Just help out people in life and you will recieve nice jestures back.

Mr.kay,
Paying it forword means doing something for someone else, and in return they will do something for the next person. paying it forward is important in these times because alot of people need help living and when one person helps another then hopefully they will pass it on. This week one way I payed it forward was when a person would talk to me I wouldnt blow them off. Hopefully they see it as a forward and when someone wants to talk to them they will be respectful and listen. Also this week I expericenced a forward. when I was in class I droped my papers and someone picked them up for me. In return I think I passed it forward by helping the next person who needed help.

i think paying it forward is a great thing to do. but i think you should not really go out and find ways to pay it forward.
I didnt actually have an example, because i did not pay it forward to anyone, and i dont care. you should not have to go out and find ways to pay it forward to anyone mr.kay. you should really help people when it comes into your life, and that you have the choice to help someone.
just because you dont help someone today makes you a bad person.
i think paying it forward means that you help someone when the choice is brought upon you, not when you go out and look for it. that's more of like finding a way to brag that you helped people, and that's not right.

I think the concept of paying forward means to do a good dead for someone. This is important because our economy sucks. We frequently are needing people to help us out. How i payed it forward this week by helping my mom take care of my little brother Shane. This helped my mom out greatly. By me helping my mom it also helped me by making me more responsible. Now because I have helped my mom out I know that she will help me out the very next time I need her.

Paying it forward is a way of saying that you return what youve been given in some way. Paying it forward could be sweeping your neighbors porch without them asking, in hope that the next time you need it done, or some similar task, the will do it in return.
